The Angels of the Nexus

"He’s sooo cute!”

“He seems nice enough…”

“Hm… Does anyone else feel sick?”

These were just a few reactions that came out of the other angels when they were all introduced to Hatsyoudo, But he was too busy studying the classroom to adjust to what the angels were saying. Because no one needed to pay for buildings in heaven, the main building of Classroom 6A was a sight to behold. Roman Arches covered the ceiling, falling to two beautiful golden fountains. And of course, at the very center were the four other angels.

When Hatsyoudo’s focus was returned to the angels, he was immediately confused and uncomfortable at their overly enthusiastic remarks. You see, the reason why the angels were so excited to meet Hatsyoudo had more to do with the simple fact that there were no other boys in Classroom 6A. Any boy that had joined the class had moved on to other classes that suited them more; what's more, all the members of Classroom 6A were equally pretty and nice, so Hatsyoudo would eventually branch out to them, anyway.

However, Aoi sensed Hatsyoudo’s nervousness and decided that it would be a smart move to properly introduce Hatsyoudo to the other angels since she was sure that would make him feel better.

“Hello everyone!” Aoi said while ushering the attention of the other angels. “This here is Hatsyoudo Donkai, and he will be joining our class here in the nexus. I will introduce you to him one by one in line order, and you can all get to know him after he is officially geared up and rested.”

Geared up and rested? Hatsyoudo thought. I wonder what that means.

But before Hatsyoudo could properly understand the meaning of the question, Aoi started introducing the other girls in the class.

“That there is Akane,” Aoi said, pointing at a healthy-looking girl wearing a tuxedo and a tie. She sported long, wavy, and shiny black hair. “She’s very nice, but she prides herself on grace. Remember that.”

Akane gave Hatsyoudo a weak smile.

“Then there’s Fumiko,” Aio continued, pointing to a girl with bright red hair and the same type of uniform that Aoi was wearing(A Nexus Uniform). “She’s observant and smart, but kind of flirty and annoying at the same time.”

It was clear that Fumiko did not approve of that description of her, as she blushed furiously the moment the words hit her ears.

Then, there was Ai, a girl with orange hair and a Nexus Uniform, who was “A great thinker and a pleasant person.”

Then, there was Egao. She had purple hair and wore a Nexus Uniform. She was “Overly enthusiastic and very much a rollercoaster.”

Finally, there was Akiko, who had darkish-yellow braids and a Nexus Uniform. She was “Quiet and Timid.”

After meeting all the Angels, Hatsyoudo’s head was doing nothing but spinning. He was both excited and nervous to get to know all of the girls better and find time to ask Akane why she wore a tuxedo instead of a uniform…

“Well, come on now, Hatsyoudo, time to find your room.” Aoi ushered.

Aoi showed Hatsyoudo up a flight of marble stairs, and then down a gold-and-marble hallway, every wall full to the brim with a weird, rich feeling to the color. It made Hatsyoudo feel jumpy, just thinking about what secrets each and every wall might hold.

“How will I remember all of these passageways?” Hatsyoudo asked, as he was ushered down yet another flight of stairs

“You’ll get used to it—Eventually.”

Eventually, Hatsyoudo was ushered into a room that was named Bedroom 6A.

Inside, as if by magic, held a series of canopy beds, each with a name engraved underneath. And at the very end of the hallway was a bed with a plaque on it that read ‘Hatsyoudo Donkai’.

“Well, there’s your bed,” Aoi mused. It was as if she had said that line so many times, she was bored of it. “It will contain everything you owned in the human world.” She continued. “Well! Now we must go back downstairs so you can pick out a weapon! C’mon, we don’t have all day!”

Hatsyoudo groaned. More walking?
