“How come I didn't get to see this?” Alka wondered, glaring at the system.

[ That's because the other Gemaris have just awakened. ]

“I wonder why that Gilgamesh guy is so high,” Alka mused, staring at the screen.

“You don’t know him?” Kaguya asked.

“I have no idea,” Alka shook her head.

“He might be a threat, especially if the Gemaris are in conflict,” Kaguya said with a frown.

“How long have you been with Iris?” Kaguya asked.

“Not for long, that’s for sure,” Alka replied, sighing.

“If I can’t quit, then I might as well lend some assistance since you seem practically useless,” Kaguya said smugly.

“Who are you calling useless, jackass?!” Alka yelled furiously.

“For now, since I can’t quit this new job, I might as well accept my fate. My main objective is to get to know Iris and communicate with her. Since she’s a Gemaris, Regals might come after her soon,” Kaguya stated with a serious expression.

“Hah, being a caretaker is so frustrating,” Kaguya added with a sorrowful expression, sighing.

“How dare you ignore me, bastard!” Alka shouted, kicking Kaguya.

“Please don’t be mean to him, Alka,” Iris warned, her eyes teary.

“We were just playing, Iris. I was so bored without you, Master!” Alka said, hugging Iris tightly.

[ I'll find the 'boring' part hard to believe since you were watching anime before Iris came today -_- ] the system thought to itself, observing the honorable Alka acting like a child who had just lost their toy.

“Did we lose a connection?” Iris asked, confused.

“Yes, we did. I tried to bring you here so many times, but all my efforts failed,” Alka explained, looking puzzled.

'Maybe it has something to do with that dream I had,' Iris thought to herself.

“Umm, Alka, can I ask what you're wearing?” Iris asked, finally noticing Alka's new clothes.

"Oh, this?" Alka stood up, doing a graceful 360-degree turn to show off the blue dress she was wearing. Her beautiful black hair, tied with a small rope and adorned with a large black flower, cascaded down her back. The tight blue dress hugged her figure, with a bra-like design that fully covered her chest, secured by linen straps tied around her neck. The slim dress flowed down her legs, wrapping snugly around her thighs. Her back, from the waist up, was similarly designed, and she wore long black sleeves that covered her hands, but nothing on her feet.

Iris looked at Alka sheepishly, thinking her taste in clothes was terrible.

"Well, I like this dress because it's more comfortable than what I usually wear," Alka proclaimed with pride, smirking.

"Okay then," Iris replied blandly. She was disappointed in Alka's choice of attire, but compared to the ridiculous costumes other Heroes wore, this wasn’t the worst.

"But what am I doing here anyway?" Iris asked, confused and curious. "I saw you talking with Kaguya."

Alka's expression turned serious as she sat on the ground, crossing her legs in a butterfly position. Iris followed suit.

"Now then, Iris, there's something we have to tell you. As you should know, you should be able to see the system," Alka said, her face serious.

"Oh, you mean this screen that I can see," Iris replied as a black and purple screen appeared in front of her.

"From time to time, you'll be given a quest to complete, which will help you level up and gain skills to become stronger," Kaguya explained.

"Like how, exactly?" Iris asked again.

"Well, that varies. You could be given a quest to fight monsters or do something normal but challenging," Alka answered without hesitation.

"I'm too lazy to explain this, but I guess I have to," Alka yawned as dark clouds formed before them, illuminating images like a video.

Alka then began to explain how the system worked, hoping to prevent Iris from bothering her with questions later. As she explained, the clouds transformed into cartoon images, visually demonstrating how things worked.

Each day, Iris would receive daily quests to complete. These quests were tasks given to the Gemaris, which they could complete daily or weekly in exchange for experience points. The quests were divided into four sections: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Gemaris Quests.

Each quest is separated into four ranks: Easy, Intermediate, Advanced, and Impossible, with the difficulty level corresponding to their names.

On special occasions, Iris might receive a Gemaris Quest, which is usually of Impossible rank. These quests are extremely challenging, but completing them yields great rewards, while failure can result in severe punishment.

Some humans at a certain level can also access a system, though it’s quite different from the one Iris uses.

In rare cases, special quests might appear. Their difficulty can’t be easily determined, as they might range from easy to extremely challenging. If a Gemaris fails to complete a quest, there is always a penalty, which can vary widely, with some being more gruesome than others. It’s crucial for Iris to complete her quests.

"Is this enough, Iris?" Alka asked, making sure Iris understood the explanation.

"Yes, Alka. Thank you," Iris replied with a smile, feeling a sense of happiness as she realized how different she was from others.

"You're… welcome," Alka responded.

"Hehehe," Iris giggled cutely. "Mr. Kaguya, are you also like Alka?" she asked curiously, staring at him.

"Yes, I am . So I’ll be helping you and Alka," Kaguya said with a smile, walking up to Iris and gently patting her head.

"I have something to do, so I’ll see you later," Iris said, starting to feel a little sleepy.

"Don’t worry about seeing me later. Now that I’ve established a good connection, I can talk to you while you’re awake," Alka informed Iris with a smirk.

Iris waved her hands as she began to walk away, eventually disappearing into the void.

Alka materialized a chair for herself and sat down, feeling a sense of happiness.

"I wonder what’s in store for her in this Subaru household."

"Stop getting lost in thought and keep an eye on her," Kaguya snorted whiles staring at the huge screen displaying Iris and Alka glared at him but he had a pint so she couldn't retort.

Iris suddenly woke up with a big smile on her face. She was overjoyed that she got to see Alka again, even when she thought Alka was gone for good. On top of that, she had met a new friend, Kaguya, who was working with Alka. However, Iris couldn’t shake the nervous feeling that the two didn’t get along very well, especially after noticing the glares they exchanged.

"I forgot to ask Alka and Kaguya about their level. No matter how many times I tried to check, it always said 'ERROR.' I suppose I could just ask them the next time we meet," Iris mused, eyes filled with determination as she got out of bed.

But then she realized something. The room was empty, and Tael was nowhere to be seen.

"Is it time already?" Iris wondered, looking around for Tael but unable to spot her.

"But where are the maids? Who's going to help us with our bath?" Iris pondered, a little worried.

She quickly shrugged off the thought and skipped cutely to the bathroom, deciding she didn’t always need to rely on the maids for everything.

As she entered the bathroom, she was stunned by the sight in front of her—a huge, spacious room with a toilet, a jacuzzi, a shower, and a large drawer by the wall. Iris marveled at the luxurious setup, but her attention was soon drawn to the sound of running water from the other end of the room, where the bathing areas were hidden behind curtains.

Curiosity piqued, Iris moved closer to the noise. Passing curtain after curtain, she finally reached one side of the bathroom where she found a large sauna. Inside, a young boy with dark purple hair, dripping with water, was sitting and looking through a hologram screen with a serious expression. He wore no clothes.

Recognizing Tael, Iris decided she might as well join him. She quickly removed her clothes, grabbed a bright pink towel from the rack on the right side of the sauna, and wrapped it around herself.

"Tael!" Iris called out, jumping into the sauna with a big splash.

Though a wave of hot water hit him, Tael didn’t mind Iris's childish behavior. He continued to focus on the screen in front of him.

Iris, her face flushed red from the heat, started waving her hands and making silly gestures in front of Tael, trying to get his attention.

Tael would glance at her antics now and then but remained mostly absorbed in his reading.
