Chapter 2: Last of her Family

"If you hadn't stolen what was mine everything would have been alright. I tried holding myself back, but I just couldn't stand how naive you were anymore. Blessing all the mortals with whatever they wanted without even checking on them to see if they truly praise you. You made the Gemariss look like fools!!!!" White barked angrily at Purple in a harsh tone.

White bit down on her lip hard, and thought. 'I don't understand why I turned out like this. I never wanted this to happen, but for some reason. I just couldn't hold my resentment for you.”

Tears dripped down White's face as she gave Purple a look that could only be described as thousands of years of torment and resentment being released.

She had done all she wanted to, and said all she wanted to say, she could finally rest now that she got that last bit off her chest.

And with that, White shattered, leaving Purple all alone as she slowly crumbled.

Purple cried out, "I'm so sorry, White. I knew everything that was going on in the lesser realms, but let it happen anyway. If I handled things differently, I wonder, could we siblings have lived happily together? That was my plan, for us to remain living in harmony forever, as long as I had you all I was satisfied…" With a regretful look, she closed her eyes, shattering completely.

After they had both shattered, no traces of their gems were left. They had been completely erased.

The ashes of their Gemaris Gems are all that remain to this day

Iris gazed at her mother, her eyes watery from the emotional ending, "That's terrible. Mum, what happened to the rest of them?" She questioned sadly, feeling sorry for the Gemariss.

"I don't know, they may have hidden in different dimensions."

"Mum, would I be a bad person since I have the Black Gemaris," Iris asked, gazing at her.

"Of course not, I know my daughter is a kind soul," she answered with an eerie smile that made Iris feel uneasy.

—-----

Later that night, Iris opened her eyes and sneaked out of the room as the playful child she was to go and scare her parents in bed.

But that was when everything changed.

Iris saw seas of flames raining down from the sky through the glass windows.

Confused and startled, Iris slowly started to run away from her chamber, trying to figure out what was going on.

As she was running, she heard some people shout. "Find the princess and kill the queen and the king!! Kill those monsters!!"

"Yeeeeaaaahhhh!!! For the Glory of our Planet and our peace!!!"

'What, why?' Iris wondered as she saw them holding swords, axes, and torches while marching towards the palace from the window.

She immediately ran to her sister's room and discovered there were no servants or knights around. So she pushed the door open and quickly walked inside and picked up her sisters.

She realized she struggled with carrying them so she took some cloth, tore it and used it to tie them both at her back.

Likewise, She started to run away from the men, trying her best to make it to a safe place.

'Where are the royal guards??' Iris asked herself, as there weren't any knights in sight. It was strange as they would normally be patrolling the castle around this hour.

Suddenly, there was a cry to her left in the halls, startling her out of her thoughts. Looking to her left, she spotted a knight running towards me.

He was a handsome tall man, with broad and slender shoulders, a head of golden hair unrolling behind him nearly to his waist. His brown skin seemed to glow and he resembled Iris.

He gave off a calm and innocent impression even in this situation. Most eye-catching were his eyes, they are a pair of cool and soft golden eyes; both eyes unexpectedly had golden Gemaris shaped pupils.

For some reason, he felt very familiar to Iris. She tried her best to push that feeling aside though once he made it directly to her, stopping.

He was covered in blood, "The Royal Guards and Knights were ambushed at the palace gates. They were annihilated, so please, Princess, you must leave the palace to a safe place. I'll need you to follow me."

The blood seemed to mostly be from other people, but Iris had the feeling he had been injured badly as well.

"Knight, what is happening?" Iris asked with a shaky voice.

"The King's brother is rebelling against him for the throne," he replied.

"But why is daddy's brother rebelling?"

"I don't know myself, The King is and always has been so peaceful, so the cause of this is unexplainable… Unless…"

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

We suddenly saw some of the intruders appear. "It's the Princesses, get them!" Shouted one man as he pointed their way.

The Knight got in a battle stance, shouting out, "Iris, start running!!"

"But what about you, Mr. Knight??" She asked worriedly.

"I said run, don't worry about me, I can handle them," he said, a confident smirk on his face.

Not knowing a better way out of this situation, Iris listened to what the knight had told her and dashed through the halls with tears in her eyes.

Once the Knight saw how Iris was at a safer distance he turned, facing the attackers, "Goodbye my little sister Iris and my baby twin Sisters," he muttered under his breath, "I promise I'll see you again one day."

"Sir Gilgamesh, should we let them escape?" One of the men asked, holding his gun.

"They're my sisters, let them be," the golden armored smirked.

"But Sir…."

"No buts! Our main goal is Queen Avery. They are just victims of her experiments."

"Then why don't they come with us?" A lady asked with a sinister voice.

'I'd prefer to keep my sister's away from these mortals.' Gilgamesh thought.

"As I said, leave them be!!" His voice boomed and everyone nearby shivered and nodded.

"Mum, Dad, where are you?" Iris screamed as she ran with her two sisters on her back.

Grunts and voices were ringing throughout the castle and the clashes of swords, bullets, and explosions could be heard.

Some were voices Iris didn't know, but she did recognize one.

"It is my dad!" She beamed and began running to where she could hear my dad's voice. As she got closer, it sounded like there was a struggle happening.

Iris rounded the corner, entering the throne room.

It was the most majestic and beautiful place in the castle. The walls were made of clear gold, with a clear glassy floor, and at the front of the throne room, there was a throne made of crystals.

However, now that the palace was under attack, the throne room didn't look like itself. There were sword gashes all over the throne as well as across the floors and walls- proof of a fierce battle taking place.

Iris saw her dad, struggling to fight against a strange man with swords in the far corner of the room. She could hear the constant clashing of the swords as it echoed throughout the room and it trembled from time to time.

"Father," Iris pursed her lips as she watched constant flashes of light but she couldn't see the battle. However the shock waves showed he was still fighting. After a while the king gasped for air and glared at the attacker. The King was a man with a handsome face. Having long black hair that was tied backward, gray eyes and stern face that showed his benevolence and handsome features.

He wore a black armor that was beautifully crafted and he held a huge black sword. He was a tall man, who was befitting, since he was the King of Asteria. Whenever he entered a room, if his standing didn't make his presence known, his height and stature would've done the trick.

The man he was in battle with had similar features to her dad, but he wore bright silver armor and had short Black hair with a beard.

'So that's my dad's brother.'

The two siblings were clashing forcefully, each swing creating immense wind pressure in the room.

The more Iris looked around the more things she noticed. Like her mum and dad's advisor Graymor standing a bit away from the two clashing warriors.

Graymor was wounded, with a bloody wound in his side that he was covering with a piece of cloth, while her mum was looking to be in perfect health.

'Dad and Graymor must've protected her,' Iris thought with a nod.

The two clashed and clashed but right when things looked to be completely even, her dad slipped slightly, losing balance and when he slashed he missed.

His brother didn't waste the opportunity as he slipped under the attack, before slashing at my father. Before Iris could make sense of what was happening, blood spurted out from her dad's chest.

Her dad was able to safely move backwards as he held his bleeding chest, However, his brother wouldn't let up. Charging forward, going for another slash, he let out a bloodcurdling scream, "Time to die dear brother!"

Dad raised his blade, attempting to parry, but he winced, still reeling from the pain of his flesh wound.

His guard dropped and just as he was about to get stabbed through the heart, Iris saw a person run over.

Iris watched in horror as the sword meant for her dad went through her mother's womb. She had jumped in the way to try to protect him.

She fell on the floor with a pool of black blood around her.

The Queen of Asteria, her dear mother, was dying

"Mum, noooo!!!" Right as Iris started to run to her, Graymor quickly scooped her and her sisters in his arms and started to run, "I'm sorry, but we have to go princess."

Iris watched as her dad held her mum in his arms, tears pouring down his face. "Nooooooooo!"

Iris struggled, attempting to escape Graymor's hold, but it was no use, he was too strong.

The last thing she saw was her dad's brother raising his sword in the air, wearing a wicked expression that she will never forget, as he struck her father down, completely beheading him.

Light flashed and all of a sudden, we were in a different place. Tears ran down her face as Iris felt the conflicting emotions of sorrow and fear.

Everything went so quick that she had little time to process what had just happened. The sorrow of losing her parents, who had been her whole world, along with the fear of not knowing what to do next without them.

"Why was father and mother killed?" Iris questioned. There was an indescribable pain in my chest and throat as she cried like never before.

Graymor didn't say a word as he set her and her sisters down. He had teleported them instantly, proof of his skill, as most teleportation spells would need preparation.

He went over to a control panel. The room we were in had a lot of weird looking devices and items spread throughout.

As Iris continued to cry, he simply walked over, grabbing each of us one by one.

He gently placed the newborn sisters into two strange machine pods, but when he grabbed Iris, she struggled. So if it was out of annoyance or urgency, he tossed her into one forcefully, before quickly closing it.

They were soon all in their individual machines.

Iris examined the structure of the machine. It was a space that could hold a human being, but it had different black cravings and signs on it and it was shaped like a bed.

Iris cried and banged as hard as she could, but it would not open. She was going to be separated from her sisters and she didn't want that.

As her violent tantrum continued, gas started pouring into the machine. It had a soothing scent that made her forget all about the death of her dad and mom, as well as her separation from her sisters. Iris was slowly drifting off to sleep.

Iris could hear a faint sound of people running to where we were, screaming, "There they are, don't let them get away!!!"

Graymore turned to face Iris, a grieved expression on his face, "Be strong and one day you may avenge us."

Those were the last words Iris heard from Graymore. After he finished his words, the devices started moving.

Her vision at this point was blurry, but she saw red, a lot of it.

'Graymore was killed. Just like with dad and mum. Iris is useless! Graymore always cared for me and watched over me like family, and I couldn't do anything to save him. Everything is blurry?' A single tear dripped down her face as her mind started to fade away.

'Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why! We did nothing wrong at all, so then

why??!!'

With those last thoughts in her mind, the light faded from her eyes as she fell asleep.

A dull humming sound went off and the next thing and the pods were covered in a black light, disappearing from its position leaving the people watching it confused.
