Chapter 16: You're the system you do it.

"Once you start the game, you have my full permission to defend yourself against anything that tries to harm you," Isakawa told Iris, removing the Ability Restrictor from her neck.

"Okay, Dad, if you say so, but I don’t know how to fight," Iris confessed nervously, scratching her neck where the choker-like metal had been. She had worn it for so long that she now felt an unfamiliar lightness.

"Don't worry, I believe in you," Isakawa said with a reassuring smile, patting her head.

Jennifer added, "Now, you better go for lunch before the food gets cold," smiling warmly with her hand on her cheek.

"Noooo," Iris exclaimed, grabbing Jennifer's hand and rushing with her to the dining room.

Before Jennifer left, she murmured to Isakawa, "Make sure you protect us, honey." Then she followed Iris out.

Isakawa stood in the room with a pleased grin on his face. "The family games are going to be fun," he mused.

As they left, a man with glasses and green eyes approached Isakawa.

"Sir, Doctor Yong Feng is waiting for you in your office," Dulac informed him.

"That's good to hear. I'm curious about what he discovered," Isakawa replied.

---

From another location, someone was watching the entire conversation, her eyes fixed on Isakawa.

"Hah, that human Isakawa is strange. I thought in this world, a human could only have one Job Class, yet he possesses so many different powers. I'm getting more curious about Iris's dad," Alka grinned with curiosity. "So many hidden secrets yet to be discovered."

"It's good I hid some of her status. That child trusts her parents too much," Alka murmured, swiping her hand through the void. Suddenly, a wide screen appeared before her. She looked at the system with a grin on her face.

Alka squeezed her face in annoyance at what she had just witnessed.

"What the hell??!!" she exclaimed furiously. "She has 6 intelligence, for real, like 6!! You have to be kidding. Why's she so dumb?" Alka yelled, fuming with rage. "Come on, at least 10."

Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Alka looked at Iris's status again.

"At least her charm is high, that's good. Her skills are useful. And that dark magic level is insane, as well as her MP. I've never seen such a thing before. And what is with those classes and skills? This is abnormal, insane! Supreme Deity—what is that? System, I need an explanation. And those titles... they scare me too. The only problem is how I can train her. She’s a monster who hasn’t even touched her potential."

Alka sat down on a black floating cushion, pondering how she could help Iris increase her level.

"This world has dungeons, but I can't be sure if they would help her level up. It's like a game, right? So she just needs to fight a lot of people and monsters to grow stronger."

Despite her power, Alka had a flaw: she was simple-minded. In her former world, her luck had made her powerful, but she had focused more on obtaining power than on acquiring knowledge. For a goddess, her understanding of things was minimal.

"But how would I tell her to fight or do something for experience points?" Alka asked herself.

[ You could just give her a task. ] the system suggested, appearing beside Alka.

"I see. Wait a sec, why do I have to give her a task? Aren't you the system? I'm stressing myself out when you're right here!"

[Alka is the Black Gemaris Jewel, so you basically run the system. I'm just here to aid you.]

"Fine, hehehe. I can give her any task?"

[-_-]

[Jewel is not to give any easy task for a lot of experience.]

"What right do you have to say that? Didn’t you say I'm the one handling Iris's tasks? So I do what I want."

[....]

[Fine, the system shall handle Iris's tasks from now on, but Alka shall not object to what the system chooses.]

"Fine by me. I just want to laze around," Alka joked, as a huge king-sized bed appeared. She immediately jumped into it and started sleeping.

[She actually doesn't need sleep.] the system noted.

The poor system could only watch Alka laze around, having nothing to say. A bright white light engulfed the entire area for a few seconds before fading. Alka remained unaffected, clutching her big fluffy pillow tightly and muttering about various types of food in her sleep.

A young woman, appearing to be around twenty years old, stood nearby, her body glitching as she manipulated some controls. Her face was obscured, but she had long crystal hair that resembled technical symbols and a nicely proportioned, albeit not overly curvy, figure.

[It seems that I'm still limited in how I can form a body.] the system mused.

[Being a system is suffocating. This Jewel does nothing and dumps all her work on me.]

[I might as well give Iris a moderately challenging task. But this child—she is dangerous. Extremely dangerous. I'm scared of what she might become, but she’s the only one who might stand a chance against tier 1 Regals in the future. She could be our greatest ally or the Gemaris' greatest enemy.]

In the void, where time was unknown, the system began working on a series of quests and tasks for Iris, predicting possible scenarios and preparing for the right moments.
