“You can’t do that to her!” Nightfall cried in outrage.
I tried to calm him from Brick’s shoulder where I’d just been hoisted, but Brick slapped my ass, which just made Nightfall angrier.
The dark elf readied his stance and summoned a ball of flame in each hand, looking ready to attack.
“Put her down, Brick, or there will be hell to pay,” he demanded. “You cannot treat Emma in such a disrespectful manner!”
“Well, then you’re really not going to like what comes next,” Brick smirked.
“Brick, put me down,” I said sharply, and he obeyed, but gave me a petulant pout.
“You know I was only playing.”
“I do, but he doesn’t,” I shook my head and grasped Nightfall’s arms, signaling he needed to dismiss his flames. “What were you going to do, just drag me into your tent and have your way with me while he while he was out here panicking - or worse, trying to murder you?”
“Sort of the plan, yeah,” Brick shrugged with an unrepentant grin.
“Emma, I know you have a relationship with the orc, but you cannot allow him to treat you with such disrespect,” Nightfall insisted, his voice fraught with concern. “You deserve far better than that. If he will not listen, I will make him listen. I will not allow him to harm you.”
“Nightfall, sweetheart,” I said, chewing on my lip. “Things are… different with me and Brick. It’s just playing. He’d never hurt me.”
“You deserve better,” he insisted.
“It’s not better or worse, it’s just different,” I said. “Can you just trust me on this? That I know what I’m doing, and I wouldn’t be with him if he was the kind of guy who didn’t listen to me?”
Nightfall gave Brick another dubious look before giving a sharp nod. “I don’t like it. But I do trust you, even if I have my doubts about Brick. And you will call me if you need me?”
“I think it’ll be better for you to stay in your tent, darling. Brick needs me tonight. He’s going through a rough time.”
We had set off towards Necromancer Heights that morning and this was the first time Brick and I had found an opportunity to be together. It seemed like a long time since we’d had time alone, considering I’d spent a lot of my time in the Citadel with Nightfall, and I missed my orc just as much as he’d been missing me.

We’d set up camp, Jackal was already snoring in his tent and Brick had given up on waiting for Nightfall to give us some privacy. Grabbing me by the waist and throwing me over his shoulder with a “Come on, wench!” had probably not been the most tactful way to announce his plans for me, but they were effective enough.
I gave Nightfall a gentle kiss and sent him off to bed as well before climbing into Brick’s tent.
“I know you need to blow off steam, darling, but antagonizing Nightfall isn’t the most productive way to do it. He’s still getting used to this. All of us are.”
Brick grunted. “Tonight, I don’t want to share you. Tonight, I want to make you think only of me.”
I knew what he was really asking. He wanted his own anxious thoughts about his brother chased away and wanted nothing left but thoughts of me.
He wanted an escape.
I shoved him roughly down to his bedroll, grinning when his eyes widened and his pupils dilated. I pulled at the fastening that held his kilt-like loincloth together and shoved it to the side before making quick work of my own clothes.
If he wanted an escape, I was going to give him one. He wouldn’t have time to think about anything else.
I never felt like I needed much of a warm-up in my succubus body, and it was so easy, taking him inside me. I’d never felt this much freedom, this kind of liberation before I came to this world.
Everything had always seemed so hard with James, my original-world boyfriend. He’d been attentive enough to me when we were just going out, but after we’d moved in together, he’d always been distracted, and I’d felt like I had to work to get his attention. It wasn’t until I’d landed in this world – which, ironically, he had made – that I’d realized what I was missing out on.
Having three boyfriends was something I’d never set out to do, but they were all so amazing in their own rights and secure enough in themselves that I didn’t have to choose between them. It might take a while to work the kinks out in terms of expectations, but I was sure we’d get there in the end, although it might have to wait until after our rescue mission.
I pulled the tie out of Brick’s hair, releasing his man-bun and running my fingers across his scalp as his long, black locks were released. He closed his eyes and leaned into my touch, absorbing every show of affection I gave him.
I cupped his jaw, my hands gentle on his strong, square chin, and kissed him with slow, tender kisses.
Brick was a strange mix of juxtapositions. A large, muscular warrior class orc who wielded a gigantic battle axe who also had a calm and steadfast personality and showed more patience than a lot of humans. He was tough as nails, ready to crack skulls and quick to throw punches if he needed to defend those he cared about, but also so desperately in need of love and warmth and full of sweet displays of affection.
When he’d heard of a house for sale in Market Town, he was so ready to put his gold on the line and make a home with me. When I’d fallen for Bruiser, he’d been totally supportive of me, even if it had meant less of my time being focused on him. When I was away completing my degrees at the university with Nightfall, he’d apprenticed with a baker in order to learn how to make my favourite sweet treats.
And whenever we made love, he’d always put me first. He made me feel things I’d never felt in my old life.
He was always there for me, but this time I was determined to show him just how strongly I returned his feelings.
“Emma,” he wheezed. “I need you, Emma.”
“I hope you’re not too exhausted after all that walking, Brick. Because I’m going to ride you until you’re out of breath.”
His expression was indescribably addictive.
