Chapter 65: The drama we orchestrated part 2

“I didn't expect you to still be here. I thought since you disappeared, they would take you out.” Moriarty pointed the revolver he had at Erick's head.

Apart from that, thousands of gold needles were also directed at Erick and Moriarty.

With his finger on the trigger of the revolver, Moriarty removed the robe he was wearing. “Just give us what we want and I won't kill you. The problem regarding the Apocalypse Harbinger is not something you can joke about and bargain with. Do you know what will happen if this news spreads in this world?”

Erick, who was still sitting on his throne, knocked while looking with a calm gaze. “That is your problem. Everything you guys argue about about something like Apocalypse Harbinger or any other dangerous organization in this world is none of our problem.”

“Then you can say goodbye to this world.” Moriarty was about to pull the trigger when his body immediately went stiff. His finger on the trigger couldn't be moved at all.

“W-what.. Why?” His eyes looked at his hands which were filled with gold needles. Moriarty shouted while looking at the revolver that had fallen in his hand. “Bastard… Roderick!!! What does this mean?"

Roderick who was in the sky only showed a small smile. He controlled all the golden needles he created and attacked the guards who came with Moriarty, Mr. Z, and even Pier, who was his own subordinate.

It's quite long and takes too much time. This was what he could think about the play he put on tonight. Starting from accepting several other organizations to take part in meetings between the two, to fighting with each other.

But this is necessary to see how far the remnants of Apocalypse Harbinger have entered into various organizations in this world. This was planned by Erick who sent someone to a fairly remote place in the Backwater area.

Right after the fight the black figure and Angulus fought. When Roderick came to see Angulus, he also had other plans.

“I've done what you wanted. As agreed, explain how you can find out what we are after.” Roderick asked in a threatening tone. Even so, one of the people he was talking to just leaned back with his arms crossed.

It was No.4 who was assigned to deliver letters to the Rosemary family's Masion and wandered outside. Erick had prepared many things after being given orders by the Tower Leader and one of them was contacting Rosemary's family.

"I'm just here as a messenger. If you are interested, we can work together and we will help you in resolving the Apocalypse Harbinger problem that pits you and the Royal family against each other.” No.4 said while taking out a letter in his hand. He handed it over to Roderick while disappearing using Astral mode.

Roderick, who saw him, was quite interested in the person who could disappear in front of him. What's more interesting, they seem to know who is the mastermind behind the ongoing conflict between the Rosemary family and the Pendragon Kingdom.

After Roderick read the letter, he immediately destroyed it until nothing remained. What was in the letter was the logo of the Apocalypse Harbinger which had brought terror in the past.

“They really are Apocalypse Harbingers. At first, I was quite suspicious because all the prisoners I captured showed the same symptoms.” Roderick looked up at the night sky and thought quickly. Hundreds to thousands of thoughts immediately appear and disappear in a few seconds.

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

This problem was very clear when they attacked the Betlam Family's residence. At that time, he didn't really understand what the Apocalypse Harbinger's reason for attacking them was, but after receiving the letter, he came to understand a little.

“That bastard Balak always said that the world was filled with interesting things. At first, I was a little doubtful but now I understand what he meant.”

The Forgotten one… it was likely that the person who called himself from the Magic Tower of Babel also had a hand in this matter. Especially when the time of the attack and traces of such powerful mana spread from the Betlam family Mansion.

The two of them seemed to be chasing something in the Betlam family. Roderick came to this one conclusion. Whatever it was, he didn't really mind it. But when Apocalypse Harbinger seemed to be after what was in the Betlam family, he naturally couldn't stand by and let them get what they wanted.

Roderick looked at the back of his hand which had a black tattoo in a hexagonal pattern. Some writing and language he didn't know existed within the pattern and linked it to the voice of the person he had just met.

"I agree with what you want. I won't mind whatever you want to do as long as it doesn't conflict with the Pendragon kingdom.” Roderick spoke inside his head.

Even though there was no one there, a man's voice answered him. “We understand. We have the same goal and we don't want to get involved with the Pendragon kingdom. Moreover, Apocalypse Harbinger also brought us trouble.”

"Then what are your plans?" While saying that, Roderick's body disappeared from that place. He returned to his Mansion in Maple City and sat in his room looking up at the night sky.

“We have a way to track down people related to Apocalypse Harbinger. Our master, the person you call The Forgotten One has given me orders to investigate how deeply they have roots in at least Maple City or this world. Apart from you guys, they seem to have interests that clash with ours. Therefore, you are a suitable subject for collaboration."

The voice paused for a moment before continuing. “Of course, that's if you really want to collaborate. If not, then you can pretend that you have never heard of this.”

"And why should I trust you guys?" Roderick asked while mobilizing the magic energy he had. He used various methods and knowledge at his disposal but the tattoo was not affected in the slightest.

However, what he saw from the relationship established through this pattern was a man with blonde hair who had a handsome face. His body is not too big or too tall. After seeing that, Roderick looked towards one of the buildings which had 3 floors.

Even though he didn't know his name, what he saw was Erick. At this moment, he could have killed Erick by bombing the place

Erick continued. “Let's play a role-playing game. You will be the one against us and I will be the one against you. Of course, we'll give you a method to see if you can figure out who your enemies will be and who your allies will be. Are you interested?”

Roderick who raised his magic energy slowly calmed down. He dropped what he was about to do and put his hand in his pocket while giving the green light.

"Okay. If you want to play like that. Let me see what surprise you guys will show me.” After saying that, no more sound came from Erick.

“Even after I reversed the direction of this communication, I could only see the figure of the other party. But that's all.”

This is not the first time the two have communicated. Several times, this mysterious party provided several clues to cooperate with Rosemary's family. The most obvious clue was when a man finished off the pursuers after Angulus and the black figure's fight. The observation magic placed in the insignia was noticed by the other party.

“You can do whatever you want in this place. But know your limits. If you act recklessly, don’t blame me for wiping out your party.” while saying that, Roderick left his room.

After Roderick left this room, No.4 appeared in the shadows. “He could actually see me. This shows that our body's concealment is not very effective.”

He placed a letter on Roderick's table. This was Roderick's room and he had been here since Roderick returned from the meeting between the two.

Everything he did and the conversations the two had, he saw it all. When Roderick was about to direct his magic to where Erick and the others were hiding, he was ready to sacrifice his life and stop what Roderick was trying to do.

But he remained where he was when Erick said not to move at all. He didn't think much about the reason and obediently remained where he was.

Erick is the person appointed to move during the Tower Leader's absence. So disobeying Erick's orders means defying the Tower Leader's authority.

It wasn't something he could face the consequences of.

"With this my task is complete." After saying that, he disappeared from there.
