Chapter 15: Compensasion

Chapter 15: Compensasion

It's been a long ten hours. Leon let out a tired sigh after teaching Felix and answering everything he asked.

Actually, he only asked 5 questions, but the explanation Leon gave was so long and complicated. The reason?

Leon had 'babel' knowledge of magic and not the knowledge of magic in this world. His standards were so high and the forms of magic possessed by the Tower of Babel magic were so vast and perfect. Even answering one question and teaching Felix took so long.

Leon took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. After 10 hours of teaching this genius, Leon realized how terrifying the title of genius in the field of magic was.

"Teaching a genius is truly both troublesome and exciting," Leon recalled the various inspirations he had received while teaching this genius boy.

Leon could admit that his views had broadened while teaching Felix. Even though Leon is superior in terms of knowledge, Felix is a genius in the field of magic.

This was the realm of talent, and Leon didn't even have talent in magic.

"Mr. Leon…"

"Do you have anything else to ask?"

"Hmm… no. I'm just curious." Felix looked at Leon with admiration. He dared to ask and continued his words. "How can you have such varied knowledge?"

"You're interested?" Leon smiled while teasing him.

He looked at the clock on the clock in this room and got up from his seat. "Well, it's been ten hours. We'll just leave it at that for now. If you want to know, I can tell you. Only after I see are you worthy to join the tower."

Tower?

Felix and Balak heard the clues left by Leon. Unlike Felix, who was confused about Leon's intentions, Balak immediately looked for all the organizations that used tower initials in this world.

But from everything he knew, none of them matched. "No, this person must be from somewhere. There is no way he will learn all that knowledge by himself."

Could it be that he comes from a hidden organization?

It may be. Because if not, it wouldn't explain how the knowledge he had could be that extensive. The problem is, what organization is it?

Outside, Leon saw Balak who was still waiting behind the door. Annabel is no longer here, Balak leaned back while jotting down several things in his notebook.

"Are you happy with the teaching I gave?" Leon looked at Balak's book.

Balak felt awkward for a moment. But he didn't show much expression. He just put the book back into his pocket.

"You are truly impressive, Mr. Leon. Even I who is a 7-ring Magus cannot compare to you."

"You are too much. I'm just a traveler visiting Maple City. Compared to you, I'm just a freelancer who teaches your children. As the host, you don't need to be too polite to me. Just call me Leon."

Balak smiled awkwardly when Leon mentioned him as the host. "Indeed, I was a little impolite for eavesdropping on the conversation. But I only did that because I was worried about my son Felix."

"If you don't like it, I can compensate you for the knowledge I heard from you. Say, maybe 10,000 Coins? What do you think?" Balak makes a good offer to Leon.

10,000 Coins. Leon could see the commitment Balak had to him. Leon looked at it but he didn't immediately accept it. While playing with the wand in his hand a little, Leon looked out the window.

10,000 Coins might seem a lot in the eyes of an ordinary person, but Leon didn't think about the money that Balak gave him. After all, the purpose of coming here is to earn money to survive, not to become rich.

After learning about the level of magical knowledge in this world, Leon immediately had many ways to become rich in an instant. He could just go to the Maple Secret Society and sell what little knowledge the magic tower of Babel had and he would immediately receive Millions of Coins in just a day.

That's just the little knowledge that Leon has. Even though the risks are big, the rewards are also big. Therefore, money is not a very important issue at the moment.

But that doesn't mean that Leon will reject it. What he saw from Balak was his connection to an organization called Vienna Hall and his extremely talented son.

"I will accept your kindness. But for the nominal, I will leave it to you to decide. I'll excuse myself first." Leon turned around and went back to his room. He immediately started practicing and didn't waste much time anymore.

Meanwhile, Balak saw Leon leaving and returned to his room.

He looked down at the Coin Card in his hand. It was the Coin he prepared to pay back Leon.

"Is he testing me?" Balak clearly understood the meaning of Leon's words.

But he still had doubts for now. Leon is a mysterious person who suddenly applies as a teacher for his child. Although his strength is unknown, the knowledge he possesses is truly deep and mysterious.

"He became increasingly unpredictable. It seems I underestimated him too much. He must have realized how I terminated the contract unilaterally but he still kept it in check."

"but he didn't mind this. Which means he has a way to break this contract just like I broke the contract." Balak thought for a moment before putting the Coin Card back into his pocket.

"There is still a chance to form a relationship with Mr. Leon. Someone with such knowledge would definitely attract the attention of Vienna Hall." Balak immediately seized this opportunity. If this happened, then his status would rise in Vienna Hall and the plans he had would be easier to carry out.

"This is a great idea. But first…" Balak called one of the Maids to bring Annabel before him.

The maid immediately carried out the order and brought Annabel before Balak.

Annabel immediately knelt down and bowed her head towards Balak.

"You are perfect."

Hearing Balak's words, Annabel, who never showed the slightest emotion, felt fear and her body shook violently. She, whose emotions had been turned off by a special method, now felt fear.

"W- What orders do you have, master."

Balak smiled while holding up a small note. "Annabel, do you know why I called you here?

"N-no Master."

"You are punished for the despicable act you committed for violating the privacy of an important guest of the Betlam Family" Balak threw the note in his hand at Annabel.

It was a note written by Annabel regarding the observations made by her using observation magic. The notes were complete, to begin with, and had every detail done by Leon.

Even when he suddenly disappeared from the room and came back again.

"B-but master, I…" Before She finished her sentence, a black sword cut her head. Annabel couldn't even react and died on the spot on her knees while her head rolled on the floor.

In front of the balak, the word 'Sword' floated in the air in black. From those words, another sword appeared and crushed Annabel's heart.

Balak called two servants who were outside and pointed at Annabel's corpse. "Clean up this mess."

The two maids bent down and began to clean up all the blood and Annabel's body that was scattered on the floor. Even though their faces remained emotionless, there was a trace of great fear within them.

The two did not comment and quickly completed their tasks.

"This one small problem has been resolved. Whether Leon will comment on this, I'll just see later. Besides, I need to prepare a decent gift." Balak thought for a moment before taking out a gray Elixir.

He kept it in a box and appointed a new servant to Leon. The maid was named Bella who looked like a 15 year old girl.

"You are the maid who will serve Mr. Leon starts from now. Mind your manners and serve the man well. Otherwise, your fate will be the same as the others." Balak said to you coldly. He didn't care whether one or two servants died.

"T-this servant understands." Bella nodded her head.

"Take this to Leon too and say this as compensation and an apology from me." Balak gave the box to Bella and threw her out of the room.

All that's left now is to take care of future plans. With Leon here, I had to revise most of the plans I had. There's also a bit of investigation to be done.
