Chapter 7: The Stars Aligned.
A long long long long time ago.
It was a time of uncertainty, a time of greatness.
Light clashes with darkness, Stars against the Void.
A war for power, for supremacy.
The First War.
A battle that took place way before the era of men, before the era of mortals.
Celestials and Outers battled, seeking the answer to:
Who will claim the right for the mortal plane?
It was a war of cosmic scale, destined to last for eons.
Which ended in just six days.
*****
Entering the building, I find myself in front of a gigantic golden door, about a thousand meters in height. The door stands imposingly, giving an aura of indestructibility.
Crrreeek
It emitted an ear piercing sound as I placed my hands on it and gave it a push.
Slowly it begins to open.
Crrreee-
Oof, it's stuck.
After pushing it harder and seeing no result, I promptly stood back and surveyed my surroundings.
Looking around, my eye catches an unassuming small wooden door beside the grandiose golden one.
[STAFF ONLY]
I walked toward it, holding the door knob, I gave it a twist.
The door then opened without resistance.
"Well, this also works."
Going inside, I was greeted by another door, faint and illusory, the door exists but also doesn't. This door leads to the deepest part of this place.
Touching it, I suddenly found myself in a room filled with books.
Unlike the library, the books of this place are neatly organized, all of them in their respective book shelves.
"Home sweet home."
Scanning the shelves, I began to search for the book I needed.
A..B..E...F!
Found it
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
Walking towards the F shelf, my eyes immediately caught the book I needed.
Taking it, I looked at the cover. Painted black with white inscription and lacking any design, the book gave off a feeling of blandness.
Reading the title though, can easily destroy that impression.
[First War]
Scratch that, the title was equally bland.
Shaking my head, I say.
"Well, creativity wasn't really popular back then."
Flipping the book open, my eyes fall on the opening lines.
[A battle on Heaven to decide who rules the Earth]
Flipping the pages, I skipped to the last part.
[Just when the war begins to escalate, causing the destructions of 3 systems, the Everpresent One unexpectedly used a forbidden item, The Die of Probability and ________ ______ ___ _____]
I stopped, looking at the faded words.
"That can't stop me."
[Riverman's Eye]!
Closing one of my eyes, I began to see an illusory river. The water then begins to flow towards the faded words, washing it away.
Suddenly, the water gushes back, a strong resistance, as if the knowledge itself refused to come to the present.
Adding more energy to [Riverman's Eye] I begin to push the waters again.
Slowly, ink began to materialize and began to stick on the paper, completing the words again.
[..The Die of Probability and used the power of Change to separate Heaven and Earth.]
Snap
Closing the book I spit.
"Useless."
Intending to gain more knowledge about the latest use of the Die of Probability, I went back here remembering the faded text on one of my old books.
But apparently, it was way too vague to make anything out of.....wait.
I took a look at the book again, back to the specific line:
[....used the power of Change to..]
A sudden burst of memory hit me.
"The Die only offers a chance."
I hold my head, feeling a headache coming.
"What does that even mean!"
Grabbing a shirt somewhere, I activate [Travel] while contemplating the new revelation.
This is going to be more annoying than expected.
*****
Meanwhile
Somewhere.
Something.
Flies.
*****
Arriving at the library, I begin the preparations for the ritual.
What ritual you ask?
Clearing the books away, I begin to place candles that encircled the clearing.
Wearing the lucky shirt and lighting up the candles, I begin the ritual.
Cutting my hand, I let droplets of blood fall.
Time to ask "assistance"
"Lady Luck! I implore you to bless me!"
Golden particles suddenly appear around one of the candles.
"Lady Misfortune! I implore you to guard me!"
A wall of dark miasma suddenly appeared and covered the clearing.
Closing my eyes, I activate [Riverman's Eye].
"Father Time! I seek your power!"
Simultaneous to my words, the tattoos, no seals of [Travel], [Pause], and [Armament] glowed in blinding emerald light.
A presence then gazed at the River of Time.
Unspeakable and incomprehensible, the presence evoked a feeling of omnipotence to all that saw its majesty.
Clenching the Die of Probability, I activate [Travel].
The seal of [Travel] glows brighter, with the wing in the middle shining brightest.
It's time.
*****
[Travel] depicts a boot with three wings, these wings symbolize the three aspects of existence.
The wing below all, Earth. The concept of where.
The wing above all, Heaven. The concept of how.
And in the middle, the one that separates Heaven and Earth, Providence.
And what is the greatest Providence?
Time!
*****
[Providence Travel]!
Unparalleled power flowed to me as I activated [Providence Travel].
Instead of traveling through time though, I made something from the past travel to me.
Normally, [Providence Travel] can only bring something or someone to a specific time not exceeding a year from the present.
But what are Ones?
Beings that surpass everything normal, that's what!
My green eyes glowed, my white hair began to become more shinier. The most notable change though, is the green circuit that runs over my body.
My right eye suddenly transformed and a green clock seemed to form within it.
Closing it I shouted.
"One-Eye Future Vision!'
Holding the Die and positioning my hand, I began to see all outcomes that will happen with every movement.
Is this cheating?
No!
Foresight is not about seeing the future but rather making the future you see happen!
Tapping into my borrowed power, I connect myself to a higher plane.
And there I saw.
It is the beginning of the eternal cycle.
It is now the seventh curtain
"Hahahahahahahaha!"
Uncontrollable laughter fills the room.
The Stars Align!
And now.
I release the Die of Probability from my hand.
The Die is cast!
