Chapter 2: Ah, collection quests.
In the vastness of the universe.
There are beings that far surpass any worldly norm. Incomprehensible beings that can shatter planets and devour stars.
The foolish mortals who managed to observe them from their world gave them a moniker.
Outer Gods.
It was a fitting title, surely better than Star Kings and Darkest Darkness that another fellow proposed.
Even the beings they called Outer Gods liked the title.
However, what they did not know was that there are two types of Outer Gods.
First is the amalgamation of Chaos, their form often associated with pitch blackness that devours all light and unspeakable horrors. They are the Outer Ones.
But when there is Chaos, there is Order.
Beings born from the laws of the universe, welding power to govern the foundations of reality. They are the stars on the blackest night, the Celestial Ones.
Though for convenience's sake,
They just call Themselves Outers and Celestials
Anyway.
[Travel]
A tattoo appears on my arm, depicting an artistic boot with three pairs of wings. It glowed with white light in response to my words.

Then, my surroundings suddenly changed, from the endless library, I am now in the inky blackness of space.
I survey where I am, my eyes catching a formless darkness in the distance.
"Found One, [Riverman's eye]"
Closing my right eye, I activate the tattoo engraved upon it, suddenly from my closed eye, I begin to "see" an illusory flow.
This is the River of Time, and with the [Riverman's eye], I can see the past and future states of where I look, as well as grant me pretty much every Sight in existence, such as Analyze Sight, Heaven's Sight, and True Sight.
I gaze at the once-former darkness, now, I can see its true form. A massive blob of dark slime showing thousands of differing faces.
Finally noticing me, all the faces turned their eyes on me, and all of them gave me a curious look.
I returned their gaze, then I smiled at it.
"I just saw 16 million 324 thousand 841 realities pal."
Another tattoo appears on my arm, an image of a sword pointing at the stars is depicted in it. the tattoo glows and bright green energy surrounds me, creating a wall of green mist behind my back.
"Guess how many did you win?"
I point my finger towards the faces, and as I do, cylindrical objects, cannons, of all sizes and shapes appear from behind the mist, myriads of muzzles aim at the faces whose expressions are becoming more wary by the second.
"Spoiler Alert"
The light show began.
"None"
*****
Outer Ones are unimaginably powerful beings.
To mortals, that is.
When the rain of lights ended, the Outer chump now had thousands of holes in its slimy body.
While it may seem too easy, I actually used most of my trump cards against this guy.
Some may say "Lies" and such but believe me.
Sure, this guy is relatively strong, but It is a chump compared to many of the Outers and all the Celestials. The fact that I was reduced to bringing out the Big guns against this small fry..... saddens me.
"#@@&_@@&&(#++)_:!!!!!"
Whoops, let's censor that. Wouldn't want to kill the readers.
Anyway, looks like this guy still has a fight left on him.
It can't be helped.
I open my palms towards the guy, and a chain tattoo then begins to coil around my fingers.
Following its appearance, the Outer freezes, and all its movement halted.
While it may seem like it stopped at nothing, With my [Riverman's eye], I can see glowing green chains wrapping around it.
"Now now, stay"
I said as I began to activate [Travel].
The boot with wings tattoo appears again, glowing brightly.
I close my eyes, tired. I just used all my trump cards and it will be a while before I can use them again.
I would rather not encounter another One right now.
I slowly open my eyes while thinking, only to be greeted with the same sight as before.
Ah, [Travel], something that should only have a 0.000001% fail chance.
Failed.
Curse thee oh brain of mine.
