Chapter 1: Last One Standing.

Chapter 1: Last One Standing.

In a time long past.

In the vast Cosmos.

A man clashes with a horror.

Lightning clads the man, his every move fast and precise and his white hair follows his moves as he battles a monster beyond mortal compression.

The monster cannot be described with mortal words, it is visible yet it is not, it exist yet it doesn't and it is false yet it is true. The monster is indescribable aside from one aspect, it is titanic, easily a thousand meters in height.

The man, while taller than average, is like an ant compared to it.

Yet, if you look closely, what is happening is not a battle but rather...

A one-sided beatdown.

Boom!

A man's fist connects to the monster, making it fly despite its size.

The man suddenly appears above the still-flying monster and smashes it back to the ground.

The man then spread his hands, stuck them together and did a crouching stance.

Energy then gathers between the man's palms, and the monster seeing this, releases pitch-black tendrils to stop the man.

"Too late"

The man said as he released the energy, creating a blue beam of pure destruction towards the monster.

The tendrils move to intercept the beam, only to disintegrate upon contact.

"Haaaaaaaghhht!"

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

Shouted the monster, roaring in defiance against the beam that was approaching it.

Following the scream, thousands of black tendrils appear and charge towards the beam, creating a battle of light against darkness.

And as always.

The black tendrils instantly crumble against the beam.

And the monster followed.

*****

I slowly open my eyes.

"How nostalgic."

I said as I surveyed my surroundings, a habit I tried and failed to fix.

Around me are bookshelves, a ton of books in every direction, plenty of video games, and my lovable King Moewthur.

Same old, same old.

Getting up from my bed, my eye caught the mirror, where I saw a young man looking at me.

Looking like in his early twenties, the man's green eyes are probably his most defining trait, followed by his short white hair.

"You look like a bloody vampire."

I say to the man in the mirror.

He does not say anything back.

"Shy eh? Suit yourself."

I say as parting words, then I pick up King Meowthur who has fallen down the ground.

"Now, now. A King must not sleep on the floor."

I then throw King Meowthur back to my bed, its cotton body bouncing a few times before settling beside the pillows.

"Don't you dare move Meowthur or else.."

I swipe my finger over my neck as I say the daily warning to the stuffed cat, making sure it knows the consequences of rebellion.

The stuffed cat moved no muscle, seemingly unfazed by my warning.

"Well see Meowthur, well see."

Leaving Meowthur, I proceed to the kitchen, or well, the closest thing to a kitchen this place has.

A single bloody microwave.

"Never mind."

Deciding that eating another bland oatmeal for the nth time to be unhealthy for my mind, I walk away and towards my schedule book.

"Wait a minute, where did I put that again?"

After racking my brain to no avail, I had to accept the bitter truth.

Ah boy, here we go again.

Bam

Boom

Zap

Shing

"Cough-dust-cough"

After searching through this sea of paper and dust for almost an hour and losing a few years off my life span, I finally found the book under my damn bed.

[A Roadmap to Saving the World (Kinda) so I don't forget.]

"Let's see, where was I?......oh bookmark."

I flip the old and worn-out book, stopping on where the bookmark made from.....bubble gum? Ew, is.

[Page 425, after collecting all the materials needed, proceed to creation....]

I take a look at the other side of the book.

[Page 424, Collect 1 Core of a primordial planet (✓), Collect 20 Celestial Eyes (✓), 1 Heart of a dying star (✓), a literal Black Hole (✓), A fragment of Fate, Luck, and Destiny (✓).]

The writing suddenly stopped, and then I looked at the bottom of the page.

[A Outer One.]

The final ingredient...

( )

Is a little tricky.
