Chapter 11: Fateless.
Ones are boundless beings, having close relations to the Concepts of the universe.
And many times a question is asked;
Who is the strongest One?
The strong will say The Omnipotent.
The mysterious will say The Omnipresent
And the wise will say the Omniscient.
Yet all of them know.
Who is the One most fearsome?
All shall say;
The Lord of all that is Made
Overseer of existence, The First Creation, The Unstoppable Current.
The Everpresent One.
For before the dawn, the Lord spake.
Let there be....
Light.
*****
The Everpresent One gaze upon the white world.
Then He vanished.
Arriving before the Die of Probability, Light smiled at it, greeting an old friend.
His green eye then flared with emerald light as He gazed at all futures, no matter how improbable.
15..
"Not too bad"
Said Light as He took a chair and waited for the outcome.
Crack
Suddenly, His face cracked.
Like thin ice, Light's face began to crack, spreading to His body like spiderwebs.
Seeing this, Light merely smiled, knowing the cause of this phenomenon.
This body cannot contain His magnificence any longer.
No matter. Light thought as He raised His hand towards the Die.
[Accelerate]
The Die trembled, resisting any interference to it, only to hasten anyway.
Light's right face suddenly shattered, revealing the same, if not magnitudely less majestic, face.
It was at this moment that Chronos woke up.
"Watch Chronos, this is how you change futures, no matter how Absolu-"
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Said Light, His words abruptly ending as He observed a black dot closing in the Die at impossible speeds.
What? When? How?
Both asked as Chronos's face mirrored Light's own, a look of utter surprise. Clearly, none of the realities They both saw gave even a hint of the dot's existence and thus, both are too dumbfounded to react to this unforeseen anomaly.
Light, the more experienced one, is obviously the first to regain his senses and raises His hand to stop the dot, but suddenly as He moved His hand, it shattered coincidentally and became powerless, relatively, of course.
Rumble
Everything shook as the Die's roll chose this perfect moment to slowly come to a close.
Light's hand suddenly moved, controlled my Chronos, and reached for His pocket and took a coin.
Round and gilded, it was a classical coin depicting a sword and a shield on its faces.
"Praise the RNGod!"
Chronos threw the coin, His aim true as He tried to intercept the black dot with it.
Only to be blocked by a stuffed cat.
"Meowthur, YOU TRAITOR!"
Shouted Chronos, with Light rolling His eyes at the scene, too baffled to say anything.
Enough shenanigans.
"[Halt]"
Light spoke and the world became tinted with green, but unlike Chronos's, one can see faint illusory chains holding everything together like a spider web.
Time came to a standstill and even the Die of Probability was forced to halt.
Except for that black dot.
Impossible!
Light thought as His body shattered, arriving at the cause of all this.
A Fateless!
A Fateless soul somehow arrived here!
The dot passed through the chains as if it had never been there....no.
As if the dot had never been there.
To be Fateless is to be outside of Time.
Duck!
Is this Karma? Just the materials for the Die caused a lot of resources and a few broken planets.
No!
Is this bad luck? Angering the One at the pinnacle of all things dark might have backfired.
No!
Is this an attack? The fact that the Die of Probability is being used can easily provoke a lot of hate, there's also Light here, which is at 1# in many Celestial hit lists.
Nee!
Is any of this the cause?
No
No!
No!!
There is only one truth!
This is no conspiracy, this is no misfortune, no repercussion.
T'is Fate!
*****
The Fateless soul hit the Die of Probability, turning to dust on contact.
All seemed fine.
Then against all reason, the Die began to roll differently, with only one possible outcome.
1
No!
Light tried to move yet His body refused to listen, cracking at rapid pace.
Suddenly, the discarded coin radiated a crimson glow.
Lines of crimson appear from the coin as it begins to morph into another die.
Crimson in body and inscribed with ivory numbers, the die stood still, its result already decided.
20..
And it began to influence the more sinister Die.
Crimson light surrounded the Die of Probability as the blood-red Die gave it a nudge.
1....20...1.
The Die kept changing, its movements Being pulled to opposing sides.
And like that, the worst and the best fought a tug-of-war.
1...
20..
1..20....1....20....1....20..
1........20......1

Light looked at the scene, dozens of thoughts swirling in His mind that eventually formed one single word.
"Nope."
The Everpresent Light, the One most fearsome......is too old for this crap.
So..
With an explosion of emerald shards, Light's whole body shattered, giving full control back to Chronos.
Left on His own and unsure of what to do, Chronos just stood still and watched the Die.
Shhhroowww.
A strange sound suddenly echoes and the Die's movements completely halted.
Following this, the other crimson Die exploded.
Aahhhhh...
Chronos has no idea what's gonna happen next, and He was the god of precogs.
Something tells Him that he doesn't want to know.
Affirming Chronos on how screwed He is. Dark mist has surged from the Die of Probability. Releasing an ominous aura, the numbers of the Die began to distort and began to meld into one.
0
"I'm gonna die."
Guessed Chronos, a very educated and accurate one too because space then distorted and reality bent under the power of change.
Woooooooorrrrr!
The Die of Probability imploded, turning into a miniature Black Hole and began absorbing everything around it.
A vortex of dark mist swirls everywhere, moving like tendrils as they drags everything it touches into the void.
One of such tendrils touches Chronos and begins to drag him towards the Black Hole that the Die of Probability had become.
And for a moment, Chronos tried to resist.
Only for a moment though.
"Duck it."
Chronos ceased all resistance as He took a head-first dive into the unknown.
The last thing He heard was a faint laughter from a woman somewhere far far away.
