School invasion part 5

School invasion part 5

POV SEK-officer

After what has happened in Stuttgart, the higher-ups were extremely worried that its fate could repeat itself somewhere else. Because of that, when we got a call that a school was being attacked by some kind of animal, no monster, quite a lot of officers were deployed immediately. They even contacted the army so that they could prepare and act immediately in case this turns out to be more than just an attack on a school.

Anyways the point is that right now nearly the entirety of the local police forces were here and 30 SEK-officers as well, while the army was on standby and ready to act. Under normal circumstances, this was extraordinary and normally wouldn't happen.

Under normal circumstances that are.

"Move Move Move!"

At the moment, we were trying to get to the normal police officers guarding the west entrance. Just after we arrived on the scene and gotten all the information that the police officers had gathered, they were attacked.

However what attacked them was not only a mystery but also a problem. All we really knew about the attacker was that it wasn't a mole and that it was able to fight several police officers with guns on equal footing.

Our commander decided to split us 30 in 3 teams. 10 for each entrance. It was important that none of these monsters would be able to leave the school and get into the rest of the town after all.

I was in the team sent to the west entrance. 5 normal officers went with us so that they could help the injured officers while we went into the building. Or fought with that unknown attacker.

When we approached the entrance we could hear gunshots, proving that they were still fighting.

Our team leader signals us to move faster.

Shortly before we managed to enter, the gunshots ceased and silence followed.

Did they get it? Or were they...

I think most if not all of us wanted to ask these questions however no one did. Not during the mission.

We entered the building and started searching for the officers. We quickly found them at the bottom of the stairs. Dead.

And with them, a humanoid being clad in something that resembled the carapace that insects had. A long white tail was on its back and its arms were strangely long.

When we discovered it, it was in the middle of mutilating the corpses creating more and more open cuts who, for some reason, didn't bleed.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

We got ready, our guns already aimed at the being. The being hadn't noticed us yet.

We glanced at our team leader to see what he would decide. He raised his hand to give a silent signal when the being whipped its head around and glared at us. Due to the suddenness, we froze for a split second. The face of the being was like that of a small girl. However, the empty eyes and all the blood on it made it seem like a monster. The blood and gore was quite a contrast to her cute face.

Before the team leader could give us the signal, she released a hiss and jumped back and ran into the basement. Some of us fired a few shots at it but missed due to its astounding speed.

"Stop firing! Save your bullets."

After the last echoes of the gunshots disappeared, silence prevailed yet again.

"What was that?"

I couldn't keep my curiosity contained anymore. Just what was that? It was unlike anything that I had ever seen.

"I don't know but I do know that it is dangerous. And that we can't let it leave this building. Anyways we gotta move on. And keep silent, we don't know how good its ears are."

I nodded. I knew that this wasn't the time to ask too many questions.

We inspected the corpses a bit and noticed that most of them barely leaked any blood. In return, quite a bit of a thick purple liquid was splattered all over. The corpses were marked with deep cuts and sometimes holes. Probably from its tail.

"What a gruesome way to die."

Most of them didn't die cleanly. Very few of the 10 dead officers had wounds that would kill them quickly. They were most likely killed by receiving wound after wound after wound. And yet there was almost no blood at all. At least no human blood. We suspected that the purple liquid was the blood of the being. What else could it be?

We gave a quick report over the walkie-talkie and then proceeded to enter the basement, chasing that creature.

Our leader gave the other team a quick warning about that creature as it is possible that they will encounter it.

I peered around the corner, expecting to see a large amount of these moles that the police has shown us. But instead, I saw nothing. The hallway was just empty. While it was strange, I decided to ignore it for now.

With a short gesture, I signalled my team that there was no danger. We entered the hallway and went to the closes door. It was our job to find out where these moles had come from so we had to check every room.

6 of us took position around the door while the rest would enter. I opened the door minimally so that my colleague could look inside. Nothing happened so I opened it just a bit more. Still nothing.

In the end, the door has been completely opened and the room was empty. We did a quick search through yet found nothing strange.

At the next door, we repeated what we just did. This one was also empty. We continued on and checked another 3 rooms.

Until now the basement has been completely empty and nothing beside us could be heard.

I was about to open the door of the 6th room when loud gunshots reverberated through the hallway causing us all to wince and swivel around, guns ready.

Just after that, a voice came from the walkie.

"We found 'em! I repeat, we found 'em!"

Our team leader quickly replied.

"What is your position? Do you need backup?"

"Just follow the gunshots. The hallway is mostly straight anyways. And while we don't really need backup, I don't think we have enough ammunition to kill them all."

"Got it. We're on our way." he turned to us. "Well then, get ready boys. As you've heard, we will follow the sound of the gunshots and then help team beta. We still haven't found that creature, so stay vigilant"

We nodded as one and started moving towards the source of the sounds while keeping an eye open and our backs covered.
