First day after the change. Part 6

First day after the change. Part 6

The 3 of them looked stunned. It seems they can't quite process how I went from nearly killing Brian (which was an accident) to smiling this brightly.

"And, is there something else?"

"Yo-you, are you... what?"

He appears to have finally regained his witts but he still doesn't properly understand what I want.

"I asked you if there was still something else that you wanted?"

This time around he appears to have understood it. However, he didn't say anything. He just went pale, turned around and attempted to leave.

"By the way, I am Mark."

I gave him this little comment on his way out.

He turned his head as a reaction and looked at me with pure rage in his eyes and opened his mouth before closing it again, not daring to say something.

I looked at his back as he walked down the hallway and felt some satisfaction. Now he will hopefully shut up and stop bothering me every day.

Now that this is resolved I return to my classroom. Inside, not much has changed. The mood was still a bit tense and the girls looked at me with fear.

Probably because they sold me out and it looked like I was ready to seriously injure Brian. So who guarantees I won't do that to them. Well, I won't do that. I only lost myself for a moment.

Now how do I explain this to them?

"..."

"..."

It turned into a little staring contest as I had no idea what I should say in this situation. I mean what can I say in the first place?

Because it didn't seem like I could do anything right now I decided to let them sort it out themselves. I just returned to my seat and sat down, ignoring their stares.

After a while, it seemed like they calmed down a bit. The boys began quiet conversations and also the girls calmed down but they still stole some glances at me to see if I would react or do something.

Maurice looked like he wanted to talk a bit with me but in the end, decided against it.

I just sat there and tried to keep my emotions under control while trying to grab some of my school stuff without slicing it apart.

It didn't work though.

In the end, I gave up and didn't try anymore as I didn't want to destroy even more of my school stuff.

From time to time some of the unconscious students woke up. They quickly noticed the suffocating mood surrounding me and started talking with the others.

I noticed that from time to some of them would steal glances at me or even stare at me quite obviously. Apparently, the fact that I am supposed to be Mark drew some of their attention.

Only when more than half of the class was awake did some have the courage to approach me.

"Hey, are you really Mark, that Mark?"

One of the few others I got along with, Steve asked me finally.

Steve was a very nice guy. He was nice to anyone who didn't give him a reason not to be nice. He was also very accepting and didn't think much of it when someone had some more special interests. Because of that we had no problem with each other and got along but it wasn't enough to call him a close friend.

His appearance hadn't changed all that much. Before he had short light brown hair and brown eyes. His face also was normal and not very special or all that handsome. While his height was a bit under 1,80m, somewhere around 1,75m maybe. He wasn't fat but also didn't really do much sport.

And in the core, that hasn't changed. His face was mostly the same, just a bit more refined features and he was a bit taller while having some muscles. They were more on the subtle side though.

"Yes I am and if you don't believe me ask me whatever question you want. Also, what do you mean by that Mark?"

"Nothing, nothing important. And I believe that it is possible that you are Mark."

Possible? So I still have to prove it, huh.

After that, he seemed to be somewhat satisfied and went away.

I just continued to be alone for a while.

...

Skipping about 10 minutes forward the last of our classmates woke up. The classroom was quite noisy by now and most bragged about their new powers or their new appearance.

However, in the next moment, everyone was silent and just stared in "empty" air.

Now that everyone is awake, the status system has been activated.

In order to view your status please say status in your mind. The system will guide you from there.

Some don't know what a status is. However, these are mostly the ones who usually don't play games.

I know what a status is so I quickly opened it.

Skills

In conclusion, strength, vitality and agility are the ones who changed the most. but why did the intelligence and dexterity not improve?

Now follows the explanation of the information listed in the status window.

Strength- this attribute represents the power your muscles can exert. The higher this stat, the more power you can exert. Every third point in strength gives you 1 free point in vitality and agility.

Vitality- this attribute aids your defense and your regeneration. It hardens your skin and your bones so that they can withstand more force. It also aids your regeneration and increases the amount of damage you can take before it becomes a lethal wound. It protects against illnesses as well. Every third point in vitality gives you 1 free point in strength. It also grants 10HP and 5SP per point.

Agility- this attribute represents your speed as well as your flexibility and control over the movements of your body. Every third point gives you 1 free point in dexterity and every fifth point gives you 1 free point in strength.

Dexterity- this stat determines your control over tools. The more you have the more difficult things you can do with tools.

Intelligence- this stat determines your ability to learn new knowledge and also indicates how much knowledge you have. It also enhances your memory. Every point in intelligence increases your MP by 5. Every fourth point gives you 1 free point in wisdom.

Wisdom- this stat represents your witts. The higher your wisdom, the better you are at using the knowledge you have. Every point in Wisdom increases your mana regeneration by 1MP every 10 seconds. Every fourth point gives you 1 free point in intelligence.

HP- a representation of your remaining health. If it hits 0, you die. Injuries aren't equal in measure at how much HP they take. A head injurie will take more HP than a leg injurie. Blood loss also reduces HP.

MP- a representation of how much mana you can store. MP is used when using magic and some skills who fall under the magic category.

SP- a representation of your stamina. The higher it is the more you can do until your stamina runs out. It is used mostly with normal actions like running but also in skills that do not require mana.

Level- representation of your experience in the class you chose. The higher it is the more difficult it will be to raise your level.

Class- a representation of your chosen profession. A person who works as a smith will have Smith listed here. Having a class makes it easier to learn and use class-related skills. It also gives your experience for your class when doing something related to your class.

One level-up will grant you 4 free attribute points that you can use to further enhance yourself. Beware though that enhancing you intelligence or dexterity will only enhance your memory and general control over tools. Having a high dexterity won't mean that you will automatically be able to handle tools you have never used before. It will only make it easier to learn how to use it.

Affinities- are a representation of how easy it would be for you to control it and also how easy it is to learn how to control it. Having a high affinity doesn't mean that you can control it automatically though so you still have to put in some effort. Every point in an affinity reduces the cost of all spells in that element by 0.33%. An affinity doesn't increase if you know more about that element, it only increases the effectiveness of your spells. The only way to increase your affinity is to gain the favor of the will or god of that element. Sometimes there are people born with the blessing of one of the elementals or gods and have an exceptionally high affinity though.

Skills- a list of everything you can do. It is a compilation of talents you have. For example, a student who doesn't do anything else will not have many skills. He/she would most likely only have:

Reading ?/10

Mathematics ?/10

Mental Calculation ?/10

And so on.

While a person training judo, karate or some other martial arts would have that listed as well. And not only fighting skills are listed. Skills in making clothes or armor and weapons, as well as managing and other things, are listed.

Not only such passive skills are listed. Active skills like {Harden} or {Firball} are also listed.

This concludes the tutorial on the status system and window.
