School invasion part 1

School invasion part 1

It was during the fourth lesson that the chills I had this morning returned, just stronger. I've never had chills this strong so I already thought that something wasn't quite right. However, what was supposed to happen? As long as not too many coincidences happen in succession, there isn't a lot of stuff that could really happen.

The current lesson was maths, so I wasn't really interested in it and preferred starring out of the window. There I noticed something strange. A "person" in a cloak entered through the main gate. Now, it isn't something unusual that from time to time there is someone entering the school during the normal lessons. However, these people don't wear a cloak that hides their bodies nearly completely. But most importantly, they look more like, well a person. This "persons" figure alone seemed strange.

The person had a hunchback and yet was still really tall. While I can't accurately tell from this distance, he seems to be around 2 meters. And judging from how the cloak behind the person seems to be held up by something, the person probably has a tail.

Well, I also have one so that doesn't say much about him. Or her, who knows what the gender of that person is. Speaking of which, thanks to the fact that my tail distracted the person sitting behind me, I had to move to the back of the classroom.

Anyways, the person entered the school and I was no longer able to see him/her. I turned my attention back to the class and paid "some" attention to our teacher.

POV Cloaked Person

So this is the building where someone of their species is. Compared to what existed before the great war it is disappointing.

The Lord has given me the task of making it possible for our kin to enter the building without being noticed. Our kin is too strange for the humans who have lived in this mana-less era.

This building seems to be a building where they teach their young. I can hear many adults talking about many different topics while giving the young tasks and questions about them. But some of the things they teach their young are strange. What is this useless talk about how gravity had to be discovered? Also, why do you need to know how to compare poetry? How can they use something like that for their magic? The lesson about poisonous substances and acids is way more useful.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Ah, forget that I need to get into the basement of this building. There I will be able to tell my kin where to go.

This seems to be an entrance. And there is also a staircase leading to the basement. How convenient.

But still, why did they build a building of this weird grey substance? It wouldn't even be able to withstand the magical weather. There also is a complete lack of security personnel or wards. Well, I won't complain, this makes my part very easy and relaxed.

Just send a small magical puls and my kin will know where I am and with that, in which direction to dig.

Looks like this will be an easy mission.

POV Mark

The fourth lesson ended and I had already forgotten about the cloaked person. During the short breaks, I usually read or play on my phone. However, this has changed as of recently. At the moment there was just too much going on that distracted me. Especially the internet was all over the place. People just couldn't stop arguing over the recent events and what they mean or could mean. Even though we basically don't have any further information on them. So where they get their ideas from is an enigma to me.

Anyways, in the last few days, I interacted way more with my friends than usual. Usually, most of us only grouped together and then did our own thing, not actually interacting with each other. Sure there were exceptions but they were more or less rare.

We just had way more to talk about, now after what has happened. So we discussed some stuff (mainly about the stats and skills) and tried to figure out some of the more strange things that have happened (when compared to the rest).

We were just talking about whether there is a limit to the stats or if you can stack them infinitely when a small tremor ran through the school.

"What was that?"

"Eh, what was what?"

"Didn't you feel that?"

"Do you mean that tremor?"

Maurice seems to have noticed it as well. Some other classmates also seemed to have noticed it.

"Yeah, you got any idea what it could be?"

"How should I know? It could be anything."

"Yeah, but do you know what could-"

We were interrupted when we could hear screams coming from the hallways.

"What happened now?"

"Why are they screaming so much?"

Several questions were wildly asked by the students.

Steve, who was seated quite close to the door got up and walked up to the door before opening it and sticking his head out to look around

He looked out into the hallways and stood still for a few moments, before quickly withdrawing his head and slamming the door shut. The loud slamming of the door got the attention of almost all students.

He had an ashen face and was sweating heavily.

"I-I don't really know what's going on out there, okay. But I sure hope this is just a dream.
