7. Baby Demon

…Chanel all your knowledge! Fireball! In a hurry, Isaac raised his tiny hands a small bit of fire emitted from a tiny red magic circle. Isaac jumped backward and started to run; not looking back.

A man who is said to be a B-Rank Adventurer. I don’t know what an adventurer is but just being a B-Rank definitely means I would die with this type of stats. I could use magic! I’m so happy but no time right now! I already read the basic spells skill description and knowledge on how to use magic flows in my head.

“Status Screen.” Isaac opened his status screen and spammed his magic stat and intelligence stat.

[Stats]

Isaac immediately turned back and jumped backward. He aimed his hands, launching a huge fireball at the burning man. Isaac didn’t stop there, he kept on throwing more and more fire until his mana ran out.

Oh, my System… I think that’s good enough… Isaac walked backward slowly. He stared at the huge fire that had formed in the middle of the half-open arched door. Isaac shook his head to rid of his fatigue. The black marble turned darker around the fire, burning from the heat fueled by the human body.

Isaac was still cautious, knowing what the letter B signified, he knew a simple fireball at that power wasn’t enough to kill a B-Rank Player, but the thought that it did work didn’t want to leave his mind.

First of all, the burning fire was just an obvious indication that the man was just being used as fuel, and second was that the System said “Adventurer” not player. Isaac was in a different world, removing his habits and beliefs was of utmost importance. Holding to stupid understandings that could prove useless in an unknown world was, as he said it, stupid.

I think it’s enough… right? The fire is made by my magic, which means… There was an interesting thing that Isaac noticed when he fired his magic. His body was filled with mana from increasing his stats, but as it ran out from his constant firing, his head spin wasn’t definitely the cause of why his fatigue already disappeared. His body was not rid of mana, in fact, it was filled with mana.

Isaac could feel magic, for the first time in his life tiny pieces of spark appeared all around him. It formed a beautiful orchestra of colors, shining and blinking all around him. With one slight nudge of his fingers, the particle enters his body. With a single wave of his hand a fire formed without the use of magic circles.

I… don’t need magic circles? But earlier I just… fireball! A magic circle formed in his hand; releasing a piece of fire. With a slight move, it disappeared. Isaac collected the magical particles and just thought in his head to form a piece of fire in his hand.

A glistening piece of red fire, releasing heat yet rid of burns. Just a single thought of a bigger fire gave a bigger fire. To make it smaller, thought was all it needed. Magic particles slowly dispersed and gathered at his ever-changing size of fire. Isaac didn’t need to use his mana, all he needed was that magic that surrounded his world, Isaac was fully immersed, it was like he turned into a child again, like the first time he held a sword… like the first time he held a bow… like the first time he killed a goblin on his own.

Wow… I… totally feel so rejuvenated… now this is what I call… perfection… Isaac smiled like he was injected with anesthesia, as he faced the wooden door beside the giant fire, his mind processed a weird thought on its own. Why is the wood not burning… Ahh! That’s a wooden door! For fuck sake!

Isaac retrieved his fire with a wave of his hand. The fire turned into mana and entered his body.

Oh, my System! Is it that easy? Or is this because of my title… am I actually… “Magic Born”... ok that sounds cringe, never mind! I never said anything! Oh shit! What is that! Oh, that’s a dead body! Let’s find that out!

Isaac ran back to the body that had turned to ash; running away from embarrassment. Arriving at the half-opened door, the man was left completely to black ashes. Isaac dug through the ashes to look for anything that may be of importance and had not been burnt.

Ashes covered Isaac’s hands and legs. After a thorough exploration, there was nothing left. Umm… is that it?

[You Have Gained 100 Soul Points]

A what??? Another notification appeared; subsequently, the giant wooden arched door started slowly closing, catching Isaac off guard. A B-Rank Adventurer is this weak? That’s impossible. If he is that weak, then that means this world is doomed. Well, that’s interesting, and evil boss you say System… I’ll show you what you want… and I’ll kill you next. Can he read my mind? Eh, I don’t care.

Isaac stood still as the door closed on his tail; cutting it off. Ahhh! What the fuck. Isaac picked up his tail, it was releasing red particles and missed the sharp tip. It didn’t cause much pain but it was eerie. Slowly, the tail regenerated and a huge black slug came out of the middle of his opened tail. It tied itself till it turned back to its normal state.

Okay, now where was I? Isaac thought, which came with, Okay! Now where the fuck am I again! He turned his back, facing the giant wooden arched door. From hitting the man as it tried to walk in, the body was launched outside of the chamber, which is where Isaac was.

Um… well that’s some beautiful carvings… but if I’m outside… that means… how do I get back in? Isaac thought. I mean, I could try to explore this hallway, it is interestingly big like the chamber… but… I do not care, I really don’t man.

“Home! Chamber! Throne Room! Return!” Isaac’s body turned to particles and soon arrived; sitting on his throne. That worked, my voice still sucks though, I mean I can try to change it… but just hearing it hurts my heart. His body shook from the thought.

Now left with no intruders, Isaac equipped his wings once more. With a single flap behind, then another as he jumps. Isaac looked straight at the orb that lay adjacent to his eyes and launched himself.

Without control of his direction, Isaac was flying straight ahead to the crystal orb. And in an instantaneous moment, his head and hands touched the crystal orb as he slid down the pedestal.

[You Have Flown In Ways You Never Knew You Could]

[Flight’s Proficiency Increased(1%)]

Isaac jumbled his head and vibrated his body. He got into position and looked at the screens in front of him. First was the status screen of the tower, and the other was his [Flight] skill being increased in proficiency.

He didn’t care about the proficiency increase and just stared at the towers’ status screen.

So first of all, there are five floors in this tower, that’s good information. And based on the speed the adventurer climbed, it could just be that there were absolutely no monsters on any floors. I just started and it took me hours just to reach the pedestal. Curse you System! Anyway, 10 rooms… but I see nothing other than the chamber…

Isaac looked around him, his eyesight was good, or I guess he just thought it was. He was in a new body that he hadn’t really gotten that used to. While looking at the status screen, Isaac began to walk to the side of the chamber, and past the giant polls.

Experience 1, I guess I have to kill raiders then, interesting, it’s just like any player, hmm… Arriving at the edge of the room with his tiny legs beginning to get tired, Isaac saw two doors evenly placed.

Isaac ran to one of the doors and immediately opened it. Oh shit, I can’t open it! The fuck! I’m a baby demon and the doors are all normal sizes! Ahhh! Fuck you! Isaac complained more. With the details carved onto the door, Isaac climbed with the help of tiny raised pieces of the carvings.

Well, I did learn how to rock climb, so this is easy. Isaac reached for the knob and turned it as it opened outward while he hang on the door knob. I feel weird like this situation is familiar somewhere. Isaac dropped down and entered the room.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

Ahhh!!! It’s burning me! Just one step inside the room covered Isaac’s leg with intense heat. He jumped out immediately from instinct and stood outside of the door. Thank System some stupid magic barrier is blocking that heat from coming out.

The room was obviously made out of fire, with intense heat that had even turned visible as the air in the room wobbled like the air on a desert. Inside the room was a huge furnace and an anvil beside it. The walls were filled with many empty barracks, the room was obviously a smithy, and Isaac never planned to enter it.

No, I never learned metallurgy for the sole reason of I don’t like the heat, but what the shit! Because of that, I’m now realizing that this room is actually really cold… and I love it! Leave that door open and on to the next door!

Isaac left and headed forward to the other door on the wall. Isaac did the same thing as he did previously, he climbed the door and rotated the knob. The next room was thankfully not as hot as the other and Isaac had a smile turned frown on his face. This room is just empty, is it perhaps storage? Isaac entered the room and a screen appeared before him.

[Storage Room][Lvl. 1]

[10m x 10m]

Uhh… okay, is there anything else on the other side? Cause I really hope there is, I’m getting bored now. This is just the time I waited for an entire family to come home, that is why I only took robbing missions, assassination takes a lot of patience.

Isaac wasn’t going to lie to himself, living in the prison for a month may sound more boring than learning to fly and being able to use magic, but in reality, it wasn’t. For Isaac, living in prison, you couldn’t even relax for an hour, causing your entire body and mind to always be awake and active.

But for Isaac’s current state, as he played with magic, there really wasn’t much to do, and with a new body, and a new brain, he had even noticed his own intelligence had gone down; along with his previous experiences.

For a person who had to use many types of equipment just cause he lacked strength, being able to fly should have been normal to him, but finally, the demon’s body was getting to Isaac, soon… he may even lose it all.

Isaac shook his while walking, it was like a book from a shelf falling to the ground due to an earthquake, Isaac had a revelation that made him disappointed in himself. Magic! Wait! I have magic! Why the fuck haven’t I just…

Isaac twisted his hand below him in a circular motion until the magic particles started to form into a whirlpool of wind. He was blasted to the other side of the room, knocking his brains flat and sliding down the wall; painting it with blood.

Isaac’s head was flattened from the impact. His eyes popped out and his brain leaked out. Isaac was left unconscious from the uncontrollable implications caused by his wind magic. Blood scattered to the ground and his body stuck to the wall.

Slowly, the blood flew to the sky, launching itself at Isaac’s head, and squeezing themselves back into the small openings his blood originally splattered from. As the blood and brains gathered back to his head in a disgusting manner, his head slowly bloated; releasing itself off the wall.

“I…” Isaac mumbled in his sleep. He then immediately woke up as his body completely healed itself. “I, fuck what t-” the hell just happened! Isaac transitioned from talking with his mouth to his mind.

Isaac stood up with his lips kissing the floor. I guess I need more practice, well anyway! A door! It was just next to Isaac, and a few steps later he once again climbed the door opening it. His entire mind had already forgotten what had just happened.

Inside the room was a collection of many different things. First, the most noticeable thing was the two floating System screens. To the left of Isaac was a circular pad and to his right was an empty bookshelf that stretched far to the back.

Isaac walked in and faced the status screens in the middle of the room.

-Floor 5: Boss Room

Uhhh well, this looks really interesting. First, a monster-aligned screen, well, of course there is none, I get it, that’s why the Adventurer was able to come up to me instantly. But then what’s the floor design…

Isaac clicked upon the wording “Plain White”. A screen then appeared in front of Isaac that presented a fully white boxed room. Oh… so this is what the floor looks like… interesting… can I change it? Isaac willed so, and then another screen popped up.

[Forest][5,000 Soul Points]

[Rocky Mountains][10,000 Soul Points]

[Islands][20,000 Soul Points]

[Beach][30,000 Soul Points]

[Battlefield Plains][40,000 Soul Points]

[Ocean][50,000 Soul Points]

[Sky Islands][1,000,000 Soul Points]

Ahhh! What the fuck are those prices! Just the cheapest costs me 50 humans! Oh my System! No! Just no! Fuck no! Isaac waved the screen off his face and looked at the guardian's options.

Isaac stared at the screens for a few seconds until he just decided to leave and went to the only other thing in the room, the circular pad.

[Locked]

A red screen appeared, blocking Isaac from walking any closer to the pad. What… Well, that’s unfortunate. Isaac left the room without even touching the bookshelves. He led to the other door, the last door that completed the 10 rooms stated on the System screen of the tower. To the last room of the tower!

Once Isaac opened the door of the final room, he was left speechless. It was a world that Isaac was very familiar with. It was a room that entailed his life story, the room where all his achievements were made, an Alchemy Room.

Oh shit! Yes! Oh, my System! I can make potions again! I can make more artifacts! Oh… I just need materials! Isaac didn’t hesitate and ran straight into the room. It was filled with many glass beakers all placed on shelves, at heights Isaac couldn’t even reach.

He took some of the beakers at the lowest part of the shelf. Isaac looked around the room for some random materials that may have been placed for free, and luckily, there were.

Isaac placed the beakers on the floor and climbed a small wooden crate placed in the corner of the room. It was a well-crafted crate with a lid that fully covered the top of it. Isaac hung his left hand on the gap between the lid and the wall of the crate. He then used his right hand and lifted the lid up with his tiny hands surprisingly pushing the entire lid back to the wall.

The strength Isaac exerted was too much for the lid to just stay. It bounced on the wall and slapped Isaac’s tiny hand hanging from the crate. Ahhh! Change of plans! I’m jumping in! Isaac was still filled with so much hope that he didn’t even stop.

He dropped to the ground and jumped back on the wooden crate. This time with his right hand he slowly opened the lid and placed his head between them. Using his head to hold the crate open. He then slid his body inside the crate, dropping down on some leaves.

Yes!! There are some materials! Okay! I have to get out of here before I break anymore! Isaac touched the wall of the crate and created fire from the magic particles around him. A small fire made a hole in the crate, it was big enough for Isaac to carry the plants inside the crate toward the beakers on the floor in front of the crate.

Ahh!! Alchemy! Yes!! Isaac placed a weird-looking plant inside the beaker and left the rest on the floor. Now I can make it!... Isaac stared at the beaker. Make… wait… make what…? Wait… I can’t remember… wait… how do you even do Alchemy? Wait… what? How can I not remember… Isaac picked up the leaf on the floor and raised it above his eyes. What is this? I know it… but what is it called?

Wait? I know it. But I don't know what it’s called… okay… no… no… how can I not know something I spent more than half of my life studying! Are you fucking telling me that I wasted my life more than I fucking thought! Are you “Fucking kidding meeeeeeeeee!” Isaac yelled in frustration. Tears started to flow down his eyes suddenly. Isaac was overwhelmed by the current sequence of situations happening to him.

He looked at the leaf he held in front of him once again. It’s a Carelan Leaf, the most common edible leaf found in a goblin forest. I… remember… Isaac dropped the leaf and stared in the same direction focusing his eyes on nothing but the floor and the beakers beside them. But Isaac wasn’t looking at the floor or the beakers, in front of his eyes ran through all the things that had happened to him in just a single day.

I have become stupid… I never even noticed. Isaac looked back at the moments that had happened ever since he came to the tower in a new world and most importantly in a new body.

From the beginning, it was still okay, I studied the entire new Status Screen I had and yet I barely remember it, if I try more I think I could. But now that I look back at the very start, I can notice that everything began with my personality.

I slowly started to become more and more childish, gaining a lot of energy that emitates that of when I was a teen. Well, it makes sense if I think of the simple “Living in a new world so I’m now free.” treatment, but that’s stupid.

I’ve become like this…. Cause of this fucking body… I’m just… a child… Isaac stared and clenched his fist, he gritted his teeth and breathed heavily.

First, the flying, how the fuck can I not even control my wings, it should have been fucking easy in the first place, I’ve used wings before, it may have been with my hands but it should be the same principle in theory; which is still reliable.

Next was the intruder, I already saw the wooden door yet I still used fire magic? My reaction time had diminished entirely. I even took it out because I realized the door was made out of wood? It wasn’t burning you dumb ass, it was too late to think that! If it wasn’t burning it won’t burn! Common fucking sense! Ahhhh! Isaac smacked his head multiple times.

And the next one was the doors, I just thought of it right now, but using the same wind magic, I could have just twisted the doorknob with wind magic. Shit, I am stupid. Well, I won’t judge me hitting my head though, I’ll just say it’s because I have never used magic ever.

But speaking of magic, I never touched these things, right now I seem back to normal and I can’t keep my focus away from them. Isaac stretched his hands with his head filled with theories on what they were. Based on his past life, even the thought of chantless magic was still a far dream.

Isaac was moving his hands frantically and started to play with the magic particles until he suddenly smacked his head once more. Shit! I am losing it ahhh!!! Isaac went back to his reminiscing of the earlier events and shoved his childish thoughts away.

Relax! Focus! You have to remember… remember! For example that thing in the third room, the configuration room. I never even touched the bookshelves. Of course, it didn’t have any books but still, before I would stare at bookshelves for hours even if it had no books.

And oh no! No! No! Oh System no! Oh fucking System no! Isaac’s mind was filled with the most recent incident that had just happened a couple of minutes ago. Behind Isaac lay the most embarrassing moment of his entire life… a wooden crate climbed by a baby to get in and burned a hole through to get out.

“Yeah, I’m stupid now… Fuck…” Isaac said with the deepest tone of his voice yet. Still sounded like a fucking baby though, I just can’t win.
