12. Summoning Room

The Summoning room… it’s self-explanatory. Isaac entered the room and stumbled upon a book that suddenly appeared in front of him. It poofed itself to existence, it was colored blue and had the title “Guide.”.

How complicated is summoning for there to be a guidebook? At the thought of opening the book, before Isaac could even touch the flowing and glowing book lying suspiciously adjacent to his eyes, it opened.

{Summoning Type Bundle}

{Fantasy}

{Dystopian}

{Ancient}

Summoning type bundle? It says bundle, but it definitely won’t immediately give me a set of monsters for the tower. That only means that this is the type of monster I could spawn. First were fantasy monsters, I already know them and those are definitely the monsters from Earth, so, in reality, it’s just perfect. But Dystopian sounds interesting too, I don’t exactly know what it may have but based on its definition, it sounds interesting. Though interesting doesn’t always mean good. The last one is ancient… I have never learned ancient history so… well Fantasy it is.

The book lit up and light exploded from it. The book immediately disappeared and everything turned back to normal. A circular white pedestal stood mighty in the middle of the room. It was the only thing in a dark marbled room, making its colors stand out much more.

Isaac walked closer to the pedestal. Fantasy was really just a no-brainer, I know more about those types of monsters, so why would I even choose anything else? When Isaac got close to the pedestal, the status screen popped out of the middle and circled around until it stayed still.

[Summoning Screen][200 Soul Points]

[Goblins][25 Soul Points]

[Kobold][50 Soul Points]

[Orc][100 Soul Points]

[Ogre][250 Soul Points]

Once Isaac had read everything in only a second, the “Guide” book made another appearance in front of Isaac.

{You Can Unlock More Monsters By Leveling The Tower Up.}

{Would You Like A Guide On Tower Management?}

Oh… Isaac gasped. He never expected for the System to actually give him any help. Whether it had always been there or it was added after his “Dying” incident, he couldn’t be more welcomed. Though it being annoying in the future had already entered his mind.

The things set up by people aren’t always useful… but it is the System, so why not? Isaac had many experiences with “tutorials” or any guide of sorts, but those memories were never pleasant, to him, it had always been a waste of time, and maybe to most people too.

{The Tower.}

The book slowly transitioned into a giant screen and displayed the words it was saying; presenting a giant tower.

{It is one of the two types of dungeons.}

{As a human, you may not know how to run a dungeon.}

{But that part is really simple.}

A white room, the same as the ones on the lower floors of the tower appeared on the screen.

{You summon a monster then place it on the floors.}

{You wait for your raider.}

{Then the monster kills it, you get points and repeat.}

{Tip: Never leave a floor empty, it’s a bad image.}

The book stopped and disappeared completely once more. …that’s it…. It wasn’t long…. So you can’t say it wasted your time by explaining things you already know… but that was a waste of my fucking time! I already know that through common sense! Ahhh! Fine! I’ll just do this myself, I knew these guides were never going to be helpful.

Isaac walked to the screen and bought goblins till he went bankrupt. Though having only 200 hundred Soul Points with those prizes is kind of shit if you think about how many monsters you can fight at a tower on Earth. I got 100 from the adventurer and 100 as normal points I guess, well this is good enough for now I guess.

8 Goblins appeared on the pedestal. With Isaac’s spamming and the instantaneous appearance of the goblins, they all burst out from the same spot, launching Isaac outside of the room. Shit. I should have expected that I guess, hahaha! Isaac was flying with perfect control of his wings. Oh wow, so this is how it feels to actually fly, I forgot to test it out. I’ll complete the exploration of this tower and I’ll immediately nerd out on magic.

The System bombarded Isaac with notifications that caused him a few seconds of dizziness before he landed in the arms of a goblin.

“Baby? Master? Demon?” Uttered the goblin as it stared at Isaac. The rest of the goblins gathered surrounding Isaac outside of the Summoning room. Wait, did that goblin just talk? Oh shit! Isaac gathered back his thoughts and forced the dizziness back. Isaac then flew out of the goblin's arms.

“I am your master, bow down!” From the moment Isaac learned that the last room he hadn’t entered was the summoning room, he had formed a basic plan in his mind on how he would act towards his soon-to-be minions. There were many options, from being a nice boss to doing the typical “I won’t treat them like I was treated.” way. But Isaac had other thoughts. Who cares, I’ll just be a monarch. Fuck the voice.

“Baby. Flying!” The goblins talked one word at a time. They all pointed at Isaac with an ugly smile on their faces.

Goblins… they are the horniest monsters second only to the succubus and incubus. They are weak, frail, low lifespan despicable monsters who only have numbers by their side. I would have picked the kobolds over 2 goblins any day, but in reality that is a waste of money if I want the “Breeding” plan. Oh well, they don’t listen, they might as well be brainless.

“I said bow down!” Isaac ran thoughts in his head, trying to finalize his plans and asses the situation while acting like a stone-cold ruler at the same time.

The Goblins didn’t follow Isaac's words no matter how many times he repeated them. He had no choice but to show that he had the upper hand, using his newfound powers, though it may be inconvenient as his actual abilities were far higher than what a “Skill” could ever perform, Isaac wasn’t that talented to be left with more choices.

Isaac used wind magic and blew the goblins to the sky, plunging them all to the ground, almost killing them in the process. Though Goblins can heal at a more accelerated rate, so he didn’t really care whether they even turn crippled for a few minutes.

He flew higher to the sky at the view of the goblins and used his wind magic to make his voice louder. “Now! I said bow down!” Though his voice still found its way to embarrass Isaac deep down his body, the Goblins finally followed his orders.

They were monsters who only knew how to kill and fuck, once they experience fear, it will never leave their system. Isaac flew down to the ground and went back to the summoning room to check out one more thing he hadn’t yet seen despite its already previous appearance. Now I need to know what a Guardian is.

Walking up to the summoning pedestal showed nothing new, but Isaac was sure it just needed some sort of activation, which is obviously something to with his mind. Isaac thought hard about the word guardian and even summoning one, whatever it took until it finally appeared beside the original screen.

[Summon Gaurdian]

[1000 Soul Points][1 Free Summon]

I almost thought I had to gather 1000 Soul Points for who knows where. Isaac didn’t hesitate and clicked the screen. What happened next was the appearance of three different options. But before Isaac could even start reading, something was happening outside of the room, disrupting Isaac’s focus.

“...” The goblins gathered outside of the room with their hardest imitation of a cute face asking for a request from someone. Despite their looks it did work, though of course it’s not despite their looks, they weren’t cute and you would like to do anything for them, just one turn of Isaac, his eyes felt like they were dosed by some toxic poison that made him hallucinate the ugliest thing in the world.

“Come in, what do you need?” Isaac groaned inside his mind, even though their faces were ugly it was still kind of pitiful and for some unknown reason Isaac just sympathized with them. However, his “monarch” plan was not going to be out of the picture. So… just an amiable tyrant then? Oh well, I just… wow… I forgot I still have a heart, oh well, I will still do the “breeding” plan, so I guess I should treat them nice even if just for a little moment of their life.

“We. Scared.” The goblins replied. Well, they are either stupid to say that to the person they fear or they are just fearless, which I think is just both. Isaac let out a real sigh out of his mouth and lowered the pressure he let out on the goblins. “Why be scared? I won’t kill you.” Isaac replied.

“You. Hurt. I. Scared.” Another goblin replied. Well, I don’t. Oh, my System! I actually don’t know how to do this! Oh System! Shit! How the hell do you sympathize with someone? Isaac panicked in his mind. All he knew about was killing and scheming, was it not obvious that he lacked any real conversation abilities that had a heart in them? Oh! fuck the heart! I can’t do that!

“Here’s the deal bitches, I am your master and you are my minions. I won’t kill you, I’m not stupid. As long as you don’t disobey me, I won’t kill you. Deal?” Isaac let out coldly. The goblins didn’t understand more than half of the words he said. They stood there all confused scratching their heads. Isaac groaned once more and just shortened his sentence. “You. Disobey. I. Kill. Good?” Isaac responded in the speech of the goblins.

“Understand!” The goblins yelled and celebrated circling around Isaac happy. However, their energetic display would soon diverge from Isaac once they lay upon a picture of their brethren on the screen of the Guardians. But, you already know… that story…

***

A few meters outside of the tower, just a few steps away from the crooked ground and the range of lightning strikes, a small camp was set up where 2 men sat inside a tent. “Burter has been gone for a very long time, should we go in and save him or something?” Asked by Daki, a female C-Rank Adventurer.

Adjacent to her chair on the very small and cramped tent was a male C-Rank Adventurer by the name, “Karel? Hello? You there?” She asked the man dazed staring at her. She kept waving until the man freaked out as the pause of time finally stopped in his perspective. “Ahh!” He yelled and jumped back causing his chair to tilt as he subsequently fell to the ground.

“Oh fuck him! I couldn’t care less about that man! Also look at the size of that tower, what? Do you think it only has 5 floors? Don’t joke around, let’s wait for at least a day before we enter, it’s not going to be easy traversing such a large building.” He said while trying to pick himself up. I didn’t even notice I was frozen at her beauty, get yourself together! Ahhh!

“Why are you so cold to Burter, he hasn’t done anything wrong to you. You’re always like this, I’m going… if you don’t want to, then stay here.” She stood up. After touching the opening of the tent, Karel had no choice but to respond in the only way he could. “I’m coming! Don’t you dare go off on your own!” He stood up from his pathetic display on the ground floor.

“Oh, do whatever you want.” She looked back one time and headed outside. Karel followed, having no choice as the love of his life just went on to chase his rival. Burter! Even when he’s gone I still lose, this is so unfair, what does she even see in that man that I don’t have? Tsk.

Karel walked out of the tent followed by Daki’s remark, “Why are you even following me?”. She asked.

Daki entered the crooked lands and was immediately freaked out by a lightning strike just a hair strand away from her. Bouncing back and falling into Karel’s arms. Ahhh! He blushed then pushed Daki back up. “See, if I wasn’t there you would have fallen already! You can’t handle it without me!” So why do you like that man more than me so much? He bit his lips with sadness in his heart growing every single day of his life.

Daki slowly kept herself from falling from the sudden fall and push. “Well, thank you! But you don’t have to follow me!” She replied. Karel, knowing her best friend for a very long time just didn’t even reply, but still, he kept following.

The two walked with their silence being disrupted by the loud thunders had finally reached the front door of the tower. Daki stood still looking at the door, she slowly pushed her hands open behind her. Hahh… you know what, even I don’t know why I love you so much, I just know I can’t live a day without you… you… “Little scaredy cat.” Karel immediately grabbed her hands before she could retract them from his statement. He moved forward and touched the door.

“I’m not scared!” She squealed. Karel looked back at her, “Yeah, yeah, now let’s go save this bastard.” He pushed the door and a white light submerged everything.
