17. Being A Tower Boss Is Kind Of Boring

Bite after bite, the entire leg of the Orc turned to bones. Next was the arms, and soon everything that was left were bones.

Goblins, they may be small creatures, but their appetite is bigger than their whole body. This information isn’t only about Goblins though, it was the principle of all monsters. Having a different metabolism than humans, you should never underestimate their stomach sizes.

When the cataclysm hit Earth, this principle for monsters soon enveloped humanity's common sense. With magic and the constant swinging of swords, a person gets tired easily, which makes one yearn for food… and if someone used a lot of mana, to replenish their energy, even a whole orc is not enough.

Isaac, including the eighth normal goblin and a Goblin mage who had just drained their mana, keeping the body of the orc to regenerate feels like a waste. But of course, there was a reason why the viability of using Orcs as food appeared only when he gained a lot of Soul Points. It was obvious from the start that a single Orc would never be enough.

Taking the Orc out of the summoning room was a challenge. Its body was way too big even to squeeze it with full force. I didn’t think this far… I can’t just cut it in half, that would kill it. Isaac, despite what had already been shown, doesn’t actually like thinking. His mind easily gets distracted by many different experiments his mind comes up with.

Tsk, it’s too expensive to kill it. I need to expand the door, wait, there should be a way, it is a monster that comes from the summoning room, it’s stupid if they just forgot to make a way for it.

Isaac looked around the throne chamber, flying for minutes. Nothing was popping out from the dungeon core, nor any in the configuration room. Even the summoning room had nothing about expanding doors… though something else did appear.

[Summoning Settings]

[Instant Summon: On]

[Outside Summoning: Off]

[Stack Summoning: On]

What the fuck! I really hate being an old guy who never experienced games. Isaac grunted with a side-eye. He clicked the middle setting on and sliced the Orc in the room. Waste of fucking money. Isaac carried the Orc out of the room and he decided to eat more before anything else.

“I got more!” He yelled with a smile. From the short interaction he had with the Goblins as they ate had already made him comfortable with them. Of course attachment would never form from the random Goblins, to Isaac, they were always just animals who would die in one way or another. But Goby was different.

“I have started the fire again, master.”

“Just stop with the formal speech. You know I never told you to do that, I just told you to fear me.” Isaac was heartless, or more precisely, through a torturous regiment made by the Dark Lord, his heart was killed metaphorically. Even then, he still knows how to talk to people… just a tiny bit… we already established this.

“I dare not to, master.”

“Goby… If you think I would kill you if you acted informally to me, you should not. That is an order if you want.” He placed the body down to the ground.

“Demon. Nice.” A goblin chanted.

“See.” Isaac smiled.

He sat on a chair made out of earth that he manipulated to exist much earlier.

“I am still more comfortable this way, master.”

“Well, whatever you say, but as the only person here who has brains…”

“Rrrr!” The other goblins roared in disagreement.

“Understand that I move only for my benefit, I am neither nice… nor evil. Some might think it is varying on my actions, but I will never be either.”

“I understand completely, master!”

“Anyway, I wanted to ask you something Goby.”

“Ask anything, master.”

“What did the white figure tell you.”

The fire enveloping the orc dispersed.

Goby’s skin crawled from the question. It was the only other being he had been scared of in his entire life. “I… would like to tell you, master, but my memory of that conversation is blurry.”

Tsk. “Well, that is to be expected of that man.” Isaac picked a bone out from the Orc.

“Master… You know who that white figure is?” He said quietly.

“Yes, do you want to know?” He took a bite afterward. Still uncooked? Huh.

“If you would allow me to, master.”

“It’s simple. He’s God.” The fire appeared blazing back, reaching the ceiling.

“Specialists.” The best support class in the world. For some they are and for some they aren’t, the only definite fact is that they are named specialist for a reason.

Isaac had 2 class skills “Summoner Buff” and “Summoned Buff” as a person who still doesn’t have a partner, also known as a necromancer or any summoner class, that former doesn’t really matter.

[Summoned Buff][Level 1][Active]

[Buffs a monster’s physical abilities by 10% and magical abilities by 1%]

I have never had the chance to actually use this… well that gives me benefits. As a being with curiosity I have of course used it once on a boss just to see what will happen… and I would say, it does wonders.

Isaac applied his skills on all of the Goblins and even Goby. “Thank you for the power, master.” He bowed.

“Tell me when that feeling runs out, this is just a test.” Isaac never knew if there was a timer on the skill. He didn’t know a lot of things about his skills, but there was one thing he knew, it doesn’t work on chimera’s. It’s a useless information, but it’s still something.

“I will, master.”

“Now, are you all filled everyone?” Isaac stood from the chair, though the only thing it did was lower his height.

“Yes!” Yelled the Goblins. Goby just nodded, as he didn’t want to ruin the other’s enthusiasm.

“An Orc would land in the middle of the room, just in front of the orb, when it appears, you know what to do, right Goby?”

“Yes, master.”

Isaac and the others stood in front of the giant wooden arched door. The goblins stood in wait; Goby prepared his magic.

Isaac flew to the skies, back to the summoner room. He didn’t know yet where the Orc would spawn, but it would just be stupid if it wasn’t actually in the middle of the throne chamber.

[Summoning Screen] [1080 Soul Points]

[Goblins] [25 Soul Points]

[Kobold] [50 Soul Points]

[Orc] [100 Soul Points]

[Ogre] [250 Soul Points]

Another click, and Isaac then went out of the room. Screams of the Orc was heard immediately after he clicked. As soon as he had gotten back to the air, over the throne, the Orc was tied to the ground and yelled in anger.

With one slash of the wind, it was sharper than a razer, the legs and arms sliced clean. Blood splattered for a second until the injury closed and little arms popped out like last time. I hate how the System never knew I would do this, and I have to find stupid ways on how to fix it. Though where would I actually buy food? Isaac shrugged his thoughts away.

He flew back down to the top of the Orc’s belly and ordered the goblins, “Bring the limbs into the storage! They are for tomorrow!”.

Isaac moved to the Orc’s mouth. He closed his eyes and focused on the mana inside his body. As a normal procedure of actually using magic in the normal ways, he imagined his mana focusing on the tip of his finger. He stretched it out and released mana, slowly rising up.

Isaac had successfully made a sharp knife on his hand using mana. Also known as a mana blade, or mana aura, really based on who you ask. But one thing is clear in his mind. I’m so fucking overpowered, and I love it!

As an assassin for a few moments of his life, even if it was just a short single year, to even begin your missions, there was one first thing you needed to learn, accupuntures. Of course, a monster and a human were different, but you’re talking to the man who studied monsters for an unimaginable amount of time for reasons he never really got to use them for.

Isaac carefully sliced the Orc’s vocal cords. He then took a long piece of skin from its neck to the lowest it could go and tied it around the Orc’s mouth. Magic lifted its body and he placed it in the far corner of the room.

Isaac went back to the summoning room and took another Orc. He repeated everything 5 times and placed 3 Orcs at one side of the end corners of the throne chamber.

That took far too long, but now that I am done with preserving infinite food resources I have come to a clear conclusion… being a tower boss is kind of boring.
