Greed

"Why would you want to steal from me? I don't remember ever doing anything to you."

"You really are a stupid kid, grow up, you look weak and easy to rob so we are going to, then we will kill you to shut your mouth." He looks at me with a devilish smile.

I see, how foolish of me, this isn't like my last world where people are at peace and there are strict laws to keep the people safe. I need to see this world for what it is, people are selfish and will betray you in a heartbeat, I can't trust everyone, I have to rely on myself.

"Well, if you think I'm so weak then come at me."

"Don't play the big guy, you're outnumbered, you can't do anything to us, so how about you died silently and without a fight."

"We will see about that."

After killing so many monsters I got all of my spells to level two, so I have the advantage of having the ability to silent cast.

'Space Slice' I direct my attack at the guy closest to me.

The blade quickly flies toward one of the lackeys of the group and slices him in half.

"What Happened!?" A lackey said in fright.

"Everyone be careful he has wind magic we can't see his attacks but if we get close, we can stop him." The boss said to gain control of his group.

"Boss is right, all we need to do is get close to him, mages are always weak in close-to-close combat!"

The group of bandits rushes towards me.

Look who is stupid now, can't even guess what my magic is, well I suppose it is a bit rare. I use Telekinesis to slow them down.

"Boss why do I feel like I'm running with weights on."

"It must be some spell that slows us down, he's stalling for time use ranged attacks."

"Water Bolt" One of the lackeys chanted.

Well, the boss covered himself in a red aura and charged like the telekinesis had no effect on him.

Looks like they have more skill than I thought, but I have no idea what their boss used I just know it's not magic as I can't sense any mana circulating his body.

'Spatial Shield" A invisible wall appears Infront of me and blocks the water bolt easily, but their boss appeared next and smashed through it like it was paper.

Damn it, what do I do my defense is nothing to him, I guess I will have to risk it and focus on taking him down.

I dodge his attack just in time, but still leaving a little scratch on me, I close the distance and use Spatial Touch. I can't reach his head in time, but I can go for a leg to slow him down.

He slowly looks down at me going for his leg.

"Ha, never seen a mage attacking a warrior up close before, you're so stupid." He says and gets ready to strike down on me with the great sword he pulled out of the scabbard on his back.

But before he could I reached his leg, and the space begins to twist breaking his leg and stopping his attack as he backs away.

"What did you do to me, tell me now!?" He says trying to stop the bleeding.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

"Doesn't matter if I tell you, you're going to die here anyways."

"We will see about that; use everything you got guys this is life or death for us." He says to his lackeys.

"Water bolt"

"Earth Spike"

"Fireball"

Weak, you guys aren't even strong enough to scratch my shield. I use Spatial Shield to block their attacks and use three Space Slices to kill the three lackeys.

"Now it's your turn," I say and look at the boss.

"I'm not done yet."

He picks up his sword and coats it in a dark red aura.

"Sword Aura Slice" he chanted and slice through the air leaving a sword aura flying at me at a high speed.

Carp, I doubt my shield will do anything against that, so that leaves dodging.

I try to move out of the way of his attack, but it goes too fast hitting me in the stomach.

Shit, I can't die here. I quickly cast Space Slice and kill the boss, then I pull a healing kit and use the bandages to stop the bleeding.

I wish I had some healing magic right about now. Haha, I bet life magic has some good healing spells too bad I can't use it.

I slowly made my way to their bodies and check if they had anything valuable on them.

Nothing, they have nothing good to me on them, what a waste of time, and I even got injured which I will have to make it to the city fast before I lose too much blood, or it gets infected.

Slowly Jason walked back to the city.

A few hours later.

I finally made it to the city just in time with it getting dark out. At night they close the gates it would be impossible to get in at night, if I didn't get here in time I would have had to camp out of the city, which I didn't prepare for since it's very expensive with all of the things you need to buy to keep monsters away.

I look at the gate which was guarded by some soldiers. They look at me and one of them talks.

"Hey what are you doing out here so late, it's dangerous out here at night."

"I need some help I got attacked by some people and got injured badly."

At the sound of my pleas, a guard rushes to me and asked me to tell him what happened after that he helped me to a hospital.

"You will be alright you just need some rest for now, by tomorrow you should be back to full strength." the doctor said to me.

"Thanks doctor, can I leave now."

"Yes, just make sure not to do anything reckless!"

"I'll try, thank you again."

I signed myself out of the hospital and left.

Man, doctors really work fast here, just one day and I will be back to full strength.

"stats"

Hey, would you look at that, I made some decent progress today, got 21% on my evolution, and leveled up some of my spells to level three, I even improved my physical stats by a little.

Well, might as well visit the adventurer's guild and sell some of these monster corpses before I head home.

I walk into a nice building, inside there are some tough people that you normally wouldn't find in such a nice building, but the adventurers guild doesn't really make sense now does it.

I walk up to the counter.

"Excuse me, I would like to sell some monsters."

"Ah yes, right in that room over there is where you sell monster parts." The staff points to the door towards my right.

"I see, thank you."

I walk to the right of the building and walk into a room with another counter, but this time with a man in glasses behind it.

He takes a quick glance at me before going back and doing his work.

"I'm here to sell some monster parts, where do I put them?"

"Right on the floor is fine," he says without even looking at me.

"That's not big enough."

"What do you mean?"

"The room isn't big enough to hold all the monsters I hunted."

"Impossible, I doubt someone as young as you can hunt that many monsters."

"I can prove it just take me to somewhere I can put these monsters."

"Fine, but if you're lying, I am going to have your license revoked."

"Go ahead, I am not lying so I have nothing to worry about."

"We will see about that."

He leads me to a building at the back of the adventurer's guild. The inside of the building was a storage unit holding everything the adventurer's building needed.

"Put them right here."

He didn't even ask if it was big enough, but I guess this is pretty big though.

I use Dimensional Storage and start to dump out all of the monster corpses onto the floor.

"What!? You were telling the truth!"

"Ya, I said I was telling the truth."

"How many are here!"

Ok, ignore me.

"I don't know you will have to count them." And without me telling him he started counting them

I see, don't even wait for me to finish my sentence.

151 monsters, all around level two.

Wow, I didn't even think I hunted that many monsters. But to get 21% evolution I need around 210 monsters, right? Maybe some of them gave me extra evolution points.

"I can offer you 20000 coins for all of them."

"I accept!" Sweet I'm rich.

I quickly collected the money before they changed their mind and went home.
