I follow the dirt trail outside the walls of the city. Grassy hills as far as I can see surround me.
There's a forest I little far ahead of me according to this map that I bought off a guard well I was talking to him.
It says it's a level two danger zone meaning there are monsters around the strength of an intermediate mage. Danger zones go all the way to level eight, levels one through seven correspond with the levels of a mage or other class, like a warrior, but the warrior's leveling system is for another time.
But where the levels get a little different is level eight, where god beast reside. this level is granted to any monster's territory that people can't beat alone. Most of the time god beasts never move out of their lands or even attack people unless disturbed.
Another thing to understand is that monsters are a foreign species that humans can't awaken as. Monsters tend to be brainless animals that kill everything in sight that why we deem them monsters, but the exception to that is god beasts, they are at the top of the evolution for monsters or as we speculated, but as they evolve, they gain the ability to think like any other species out there, and some of them are smarter than us.
But we've come to an agreement with the god beast to stay out of each other's lands, because even though we are not as strong as the god beasts we have numbers, and with enough numbers, we can take one of them down just at a cost.
Another thing about monsters is we rely on them for food. Ever since the monsters have come into our world fewer fights over meat have been made, and now all meat circulating the market is of monsters, and ever since the population has been going up with less starvation.
But back to the level two danger zone, nothing should possibly be a danger there to me, I think?
A couple of hours pass in the blink of an eye and the forest is right infront of me. Well, isn't this forest scary, exactly the place you would find a killer in one of those horror movies, might as well go in, I already know what dangers lurk within.
Trees tower over me like giants. the leaves and thick branches block out the much-desired sun. thick bushes all around the forest laying in places to impede whoever dares go into the forest. Short grass resulted from the deprived sunlight and monstrous footprints that you would find in any horror movie.
Wait, footprints? No way how did I already find a monster's footprints!? I suppose God is watching me, so this should be expected. But this is a blessing I don't need to spend too much time trying to find a monster now that I have fresh footprints here. Haha, monster you should say your last words now that I am coming for you and there is no escape.
A couple of minutes later.
Damn it, the tracks end, and there is no monster in sight. Now, what am I going to do? Find another monster, I guess that is the only thing I can do, it's not like I can continue to track this monster anyways.
As I was thinking of giving up on tracking something was lurking within the bushes staring at Jason like he was prey.

The next thing Jason knew is that he felt a piercing gaze on his back that made him break out in a cold sweat.
Jason's senses were heightened by the forest environment and his elven blood. He quickly chanted a spell and used it on the bush behind him.
'Space slice' Jason silently casted inside of his head, and in a matter of seconds, an invisible blade flew towards the bush. But just in time a large animal came out of the bushes and jumped out of the way of the blade.
It took one glance for Jason to recognize what monster it was.
It has the body of a large cat, standing at 5 feet tall. its coat was a deep black. It had dark purple eyes that could see through the shadows. It was a Shadow Feline. It looked like it was starving ready to attack anything in sight, even if it was stronger than itself.
Crap, a Shadow Feline, they usually have the power of an intermediate warrior well also having the magic power of a beginner mage in shadow magic.
But what's weird is that they hunt at night when they are at their strongest, but this one is hunting in the daytime. Well, I suppose there isn't a whole lot of sunlight shining through the leaves of the trees, so they have plenty of shadows to work with. But they have a buff at night so it's always better for them to hunt at night. Maybe he's too hungry that he can't wait until night falls. Well, whatever it might be I still have to kill it.
The Shadow Feline charges at me.
"Spatial Shield" the space infront of me solidifies, I then use a second spell telekinesis to slow down it, although my telekinesis spell isn't strong enough to stop the Shadow Feline, I can use it as a weight to slow it down.
The Shadow Feline runs into my shield almost breaking it. Without telekinesis activated he might have broken it, but now is time for the last step of my plan.
When the Shadow Feline charged into my invisible shield he got dazed, and I will use that to my advantage. I grab the Shadow Feline's head and start casting.
"Spatial Touch" The space where my hand touches becomes unstable warping and destroying everything within.
The Shadow Feline's head explodes from the sheer force of the unstable space.
"Haha, the plan worked, these spells are amazing! I wonder why people always say space magic is weak, it's by far the strongest magic I've ever seen, but it's also the only magic I've really seen."
[Level two Shadow Feline defeated, gained 0.1 evolution points!]
Wait, I get evolution points from killing monsters!?

Hey look, I finally found out how to raise my Evolution percentage! And by the looks of it, the points are equal to the percent, so one point is one percent. But why is it only 0.1 percent, can't it be like 1 percent?
No?
evolving is going to take forever. Well, I suppose I have some time, so might as well continue hunting but first, let's put this Shadow Feline in my Dimensional Storage.
A couple more hours pass.
About time I should return to the city, wouldn't want to be caught here at night, I also filled up my Dimensional Storage so it's not like I could hunt any longer anyways. I'll check my gains after I return to the city.
I start leaving the forest and get on to the path to the city. after a couple of minutes, I see a couple of people infront of me waiting for something.
I wonder what they are doing out here at this time, do they plan on camping here?
I start to walk up to the people when one of them spots me and starts to tell the others. They all start looking at me with hate.
What did I do?
We finally get into talking distance from them.
Then the one at the center of the five-man group starts to talk.
"You sure took your time; I thought you died out there we were just about to leave too, but it looks like there is no need for that now."
hmm, do they know me? I don't think I have ever seen them before.
"Have we met before? And why are you waiting for me, I think you got the wrong person."
"Haha, you hear this kid, he thinks we got the wrong person." He looks at his buddies and says.
Well, kid, we're here to steal everything you have."
