An elf in armor at the side of the table said something to all the nobles and royals present.

"Today we have gotten news of someone awakening as an extraordinary rank elf."

That simple sentence throws everyone present into surprise. Loud chatter filled the room as the elf at the end of the table sits motionless.

"SILENCE!" He speaks.

The room turns dead silent, with an air of fear and admiration from the others in the room.

"As you all have heard, a new elf has been awakened and they have been blessed by the world tree to awaken as an extraordinary rank elf."

"But didn't our seer say we wouldn't have another extraordinary elf awaken in 100 years?"

"Yes, I believe I heard that too, why is there one awakening now?" Some elders say.

"I understand your confusion, but I can confirm that this news is true, we'll just have to rule it as another one of the events that our seer couldn't predict." The leader at the center said.

"But my King the seer has never been wrong up till now, what if this elf is something that wasn't supposed to happen?"

"That doesn't sound like a bad thing, should we be happy that our seer couldn't predict their awakening."

"What do you mean?"

"This elf must truly be special to avoid being predicted by our seer, I bet he isn't a normal extraordinary rank elf."

"Oh, I see! Yes, this is truly a blessing from the world tree!" A couple of elders say in delight. The room once again is thrown into loud chattering about the holy world tree blessing them.

"What do you plan to do then my king?" A curious elf says.

"As of now, I'm the only extraordinary rank elf alive, but as you all know my time is running out and I need a successor to the throne."

"I see, you plan to make him your successor to the throne, but would your son Arthur be opposed to that?"

"doesn't matter, the world tree didn't bless him with a high enough rank to rule so it's inevitable that this would happen, he simply was never born to rule."

"Sad to hear that, I thought the world tree truly blessed him to awaken as an elf, but it seems it was not true."

"Wait, what about your daughter Clara, didn't she awaken as an extraordinary rank elf?" When all the elders heard this, a grim look appeared on their faces.

"He must have not heard much about the princess."

"Yes, poor guy this will probably be the last time he's invited here." Some grim-looking elders said.

The elf that mentioned the princess was already in fear by the looks of the people in the room but now hearing about not being invited to the next meeting made him really regret saying anything.

"You're not wrong that she awakened as an extraordinary rank elf, but she can't rule, I would truly fear for the future if that day ever came." The king said annoyed.

A silent agreement came across all the elders.

"When can we send an official to bring him back.? A curious elder said what everyone wanted to know.

"Seven days at most. Until then I want everyone to prepare, we will be holding a grand event for the official announcement to our citizens. With that, we will end this meeting." The King said in an authoritative tone then left the room.

After the king left the room, the elders conversed with each other planning what was to come, but little did they and the king know that there was one person listening in on the whole conversation, a person who nearly just awakened.

In a residential area, the sun shines brightly through the window of a certain house.

"Ah, the sun is too bright god why did I forget to close my curtains?" Jason says waking up. I just remembered, it was to wake me up to go to school, thanks past me I would've slept in. But there are only thirty minutes left even with using the sun as my alarm clock. Damn why do I do this to myself, can't I just wake up on time, and not sleep through my regular alarm clock?

I quickly get ready and leave the house, not without saying goodbye to my family.

I see one of my friends up ahead that I don't remember his name, I'm bad at remembering names so I'll call him friend A, of course in my head I wouldn't be so rude that I would call him friend A out loud.

"Hey man, how are you doing?" I say to him.

"Jason! What are you doing?" Friend A says in surprise.

Probably didn't expect me to be here, but I'll just act like I don't know, it's fun that way.

"Going to school what else?"

"What! Why would you go to school, didn't you awaken an extraordinary rank species? You know that the last week of school isn't required for students who awakened high-ranked species right?"

"Ya, but I don't know how to cultivate, the book I got was a total rip-off, didn't even tell me that I had no mana inside my body."

"Are you an idiot? That's basic knowledge that kids learn and you're telling me you didn't know that. How did you awaken as an extraordinary rank I just don't understand?"

"Really I must have skipped that class to read some books."

"To think you actually got first in magic theory. But you know you could've just asked your parents they would've told you how to cultivate, wait that wouldn't work if you have a different mana affinity. Speaking of which I don't know which affinity you awakened with your species."

"Wait, your mana affinity changes how you cultivate?"

"You totally just brushed off my question, of course, cultivating fire and water wouldn't use the same technique, that wouldn't make sense."

I should really start going to classes on the basics of mana, I know nothing about this. Well, it's good I'm going now.

"No problem, but it's good you're going to the cultivating class, or you would've been really far behind."

"Ya, well we arrived at school, so this is where we spilt."

Now I have to find the class, shouldn't be that hard. I got a couple of weird glances as I was walking but I ignored them, but I did see something A little strange, I saw the school idol Elise Phoenix walking out of the principal's office, which I thought no student that awakened a high-ranking would come to school. I wonder why, well probably has to do with the principal which has nothing to do with me. But as I was walking Elise saw me and started walking towards me! Damn why is she walking toward me, this isn't the type of attention I want, maybe she will walk past me.

We continued to walk getting closer and closer until meeting, I tried to walk past but then she talked to me.

"Hey, Jason I think your name was?"

Damn why, now I have to acknowledge her.

"Is there something you need from me?"

"I'll give you two opinions, join my family or I'll have to kill you." She said with a straight face.

How could she say that!? You know that there are a lot of people around us and you're threatening me, and wait is this a confession of love, oh no I knew she was bad news I need to find a way out fast.

"You know that you just threatened me in Infront of a lot of people, in any case, the people will take my side with this much evidence if you do anything to me."

"You're a fool, do you really think any of these people's opinions matter against me? Don't belittle me like that!"

She's a lot more dangerous than I thought! I never thought her ego would be this high. If I fight with her the end would be obvious as she has probably been training since young with her strong background well I have been doing nothing but reading books, shoot she probably already has been cultivating and if she could use mana, I'm toast, literally! Maybe someone will save me, please help!

"Well, we're in school and no fighting is allowed."

"Stop being weak and accept your defeat, or are you going to accept joining my family?"
