Chapter 97: Absolute Confidence(3)

Despite being on the verge of losing consciousness, the flame of life within Feng Zhiming continued to flicker, for his fate was evidently not yet sealed.

The prior corruption that had granted him a certain affinity with the deity whose name he had invoked now played a crucial role in shielding him from imminent demise.

Kura had insight deeper then anyone present and she was acutely aware that it was not yet time for either Feng Zhiming or Aaron to meet their end, for if it were, she would have promptly ended the battle.

After some time, Feng Zhiming's fingers began to twitch, and with a firm grasp on the ground, he steadied himself, slowly rising to his feet.

Kura's eyes widened in admiration as she witnessed the scene unfolding before her.

"Feng Zhiming, you are truly the chosen one!" she declared, her face lit up with a broad smile.

Feng Zhiming then turned his gaze towards the convulsing Aaron and clutched his stomach before bursting into laughter.

"YOU ACTUALLY SURVIVED EVEN THAT! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU REALLY?"

Aaron's eyes blazed with a murderous fury as he screamed, "FENG ZHIMING, I'LL KILL YOU!" Despite his continued convulsions, his determination remained unwavering.

Feng Zhiming, battered and limping, approached Aaron with his sole functional arm. He mounted Aaron and began a relentless barrage of punches, the impacts raining down on him incessantly.

Twenty minutes passed, and yet the Holy Knight refused to yield and die, displaying an almost endless vitality.

Exhausted but undeterred, Feng Zhiming continued to pummel Aaron, his voice strained as he screamed, "JUST DIE!"

Feng Zhiming then looked down at Aaron, his face betraying a mixture of awe and disbelief. Even in his weakened state, it seemed like Aaron remained invincible, displaying an unyielding resilience.

Kura's voice broke through with a smug smirk "That's the boon of divinity. A power you could have if you so desired."

Feng Zhiming shot her a disgruntled glance, his disdain at the idea evident.

If he failed to find a way to end the Holy Knight at that very moment, he would undoubtedly meet his end.

He couldn't risk uttering that name again, he had come far too close to death, and attempting it another time was certain doom.

“Tell me Holy Knight, seeing your demise close at hand, do you not feel anger towards the one who drove you to this point?” Feng Zhiming asked deep in thought.

“My Maiden will not burden me with something greater than I can handle.” Aaron responded in a resolute tone.

Feng Zhiming rose to his feet and looked up at the sky in resignation, “Such faith can only be extinguished by one greater.” He thought as he prepared himself.

"Is this what you wanted, Lord of Truth and Veracity?"

Feng Zhiming's frustration reached a boiling point, and he cursed the situation. The last thing he wanted was to rely on a power he had never asked for, but he was left with no other choice.

With a reluctant motion, he opened his left eye.

The change was stark, his eye now held a multi-colored pupil within the abyss, a perfect division of misty gray and bright gold, giving him a striking heterochromia.

Feng Zhiming had sought Kura's aid to graft the eyes, in return for which he had learned one of the abilities of the stained eye – the power of Assimilation.

The Lunar Sun Eyes had now seamlessly fused with him, enabling him to see deeper than ever before.

With a heavy sigh, he brought his palm up to his face. From the corner of his eye, he could see Aaron slowly regaining his strength.

If he did not end this here and now, certain death faced him.

He shifted his focus entirely to his blood-engrained palm. As his vision delved deeper, he began to observe the intricacies of life on a molecular level: blood cells, atoms, protons, neutrons, and even the realms beyond that.

However, Splitting Atoms alone would not suffice against Aaron, he needed something far greater, something beyond even atomic forces.

Zhishi Wu’s scripture had mentioned a hypothetical scenario, this was what he was relying on.

The ability to see the smallest unit of the world, a quanta of Qi, one single Quanta of Qi.

He held such a thing in his hand. It pulsated endlessly with a faint blue glow, a blob of energy.

Feng Zhiming digested this information effortlessly; his head did not ache as before, and he did not burst any blood vessels, such was the power of the Lunar Sun eyes.

The culmination of his efforts had led to exhausting every useful item in his storage ring, leaving him with one remaining option.

As Aaron slowly began to regain control over his body, he managed to utter, "Tainted one, your death has come."

Feng Zhiming replied calmly, "Holy Knight, you've likely never heard of this. Once, there lived a great scholar with endless curiosity. He wrote that in our world, the smallest unit of reality is classically considered an atom. Splitting that atom results in a devastating explosion, far beyond mortal capabilities."

Feng Zhiming's hand caused a subtle disturbance in the space around it, the effect gradually building.

"But beyond atoms, there lay mysteries unseen, one of them being Qi," he continued. "We manipulate Qi collectively but rarely delve into its most minute aspects. Don't you wonder what would happen if we split open a quanta of Qi? What secrets would we unveil?"

Aaron, still struggling to recover, retorted, "If you attempt this, you'll inevitably perish as well. Didn't you witness your near-death by beast cores? How can you stand up to this?"

Feng Zhiming did not reply, his expression in a state of serenity.

"Shadow which has plagues me so, shadow which is the puppet of the administrator." he muttered, accepting his probable demise.

"In the event of my death, Anissa will reveal all knowledge concerning the assembly."

A familiar voice echoed in his thoughts, [This is a violation of the rules], a stern warning against the consequences of his actions.

Feng Zhiming, with little choice but to place his faith in the circumstances, remained steadfast. He considered two outcomes: if the shadow guarded him, he would be liberated from its influence and Aaron's demise would be inevitable.

However, if death was his fate, perhaps he would meet god sooner than anticipated.

Aaron, witnessing the madness in Feng Zhiming's eyes, exclaimed, "YOU’RE A MADMAN!" as he gathered his strength and prepared an attack.

The glowing tip of his sword unleashed an onslaught of weaponized divinity, hurtling towards Feng Zhiming's neck. Though the time seemed infinitely brief, the attack fell slightly short.

Feng Zhiming warned Kura, "Kura, ensure that no one dies. Let me bear witness to the Truth and Veracity of your lord."

Kura seemed surprised as well, despite knowledge bestowed onto her by her lord, she had never heard of such a thing, splitting open Qi. There had never been such a thought in history.

An almost inconceivable light, blinding in its potency and brilliance, began to expand from Feng Zhiming's hand, enveloping him completely.

The sight was a horror beyond imagination, leaving the spectators in awe.

Daiyu watched, her jaw dangling, as Krimin finally grasped the true meaning of her earlier statement , Feng Zhiming was indeed the "Crazed Crow of Calamity."

“Such a man could surely cause the death of many.” he spoke in disturbed tone.

“Witness, that which can shatter even divinity.” Feng Zhiming’s words echoed as the light expanded, encompassing the entirety of the battlefield.

This was a final, desperate attack, teetering on the edge of being suicidal.
