Chapter 42: Collateral damage(2)

“He-” she didn’t even finish her cry for help before she was engulfed in flames.

The man with blazing fists now stood there before a pile of ash, the ashes of his senior sister.

Raja fell to his knees once again.

“Wha-”

“Look around.” the man interjected, not wanting to explain.

Raja turned his head and looked around, the once lively battleground with an abundance of audience members was empty, all that remained was him, the man and ashes, ashes everywhere, everyone, from the overseers at the peak of foundation establishment, to the weak body refiners.

They were all ashes.

Raja now felt extreme rage as he balled up his fists.

“YOUR NA-!”

He was interrupted again.

“Li Zimo, my name is Li Zimo, and the man who just left, he is the envoy of the Heavenly Divine Demon Sect, and I guess he’s our interim sect leader.” he said while looking around and scoping out his next victims.

“I-”

Li Zimo cut him off by picking him up, he was about to ignite him, when he unexpectedly got a mental transmission.

He smirked.

“Finally some fun.” He said as he dropped Raja.

“Well kid it’s your lucky day, I have to go deal with actual enemies, have fun with these ashes.”

Li Zimo flew away so quickly that he looked like a flash of light once again.

Raja just sat there on his knees.

Just when he had begun to think he was worth something, the truth that he wasn’t even worth killing was revealed to him.

There was nothing, no senior sister, no inner sect, no outer sect. It was just him.

But he would change that.

The scent of blood permeated the entirety of the Flowing river sect, sounds of blades clashing, people yelling, people crying, people fighting.

The normally pristine and polished white surfaces were covered with blood, hostility was so prevalent it was almost palpable.

A head slid off the body of a Qi condensation disciple as Qin Hao brought down his blade.

“Are you ok Zhu Li?” he asked as he looked at the pile of bodies surrounding them.

Zhu Li found her hands shaking slightly but she took a deep breath in and out before replying.

“I’m ok, I just haven’t seen this much bloodshed before.”

Qin Hao grabbed her hand.

“Don’t worry, the sect’s are relatively even, but because we have the support of senior Feng we’ll be fine and emerge victorious.”

Zhu Li nodded.

“It’s kind of scary actually, they say that when his red aura passes over an area of the battlefield enemies drop their swords and fall to their knees voluntarily.”

Strength beyond a mere cultivation base, that was what differentiated the ones destined for death and those destined for greatness.

Feng Zhiming flew far above the Flowing River Sect, he had no intention to personally interfere yet, since he had spent so much time acquiring his tools, he would let them operate in peace.

He looked to his side and discovered Anissa standing there tapping her feet on a non-existent floor.

“You wish to battle?” he asked as he decided to lay down horizontally.

“No. I am here to safeguard you, not battle.”

Feng Zhiming smirked, it was obvious that she wanted to battle.

The sword on her waist was practically trying to break out of its sheath.

He looked down and noticed Tian Yu and the two elders approaching the main hall, the residence of the elders and the Sect leader.

“The rabble is quite slow, why don’t you see if you can help speed things up.”

By the time Feng Zhiming finished speaking Anissa had vanished from her spot.

At the main hall of the Flowing River Sect Anissa practically burst into the room.

The room held a grand total of five people excluding her.

“Who are you!?” Sect leader Li cried out as he saw her.

“Instead of asking me who I am, you should gaze upon the sorry state of your sect, it’s crumbling from the inside out.” She responded with a cold gaze.

She didn’t want to concede her stepping stones, but she decided to let Tian Yu and his two elders deal with this sect leader.

Seeing their sect leader die would extinguish their intention to resist.

Sect leader Li instantly vanished from the hall, extremely disturbed by the news.

The four remaining elders were still dumbstruck by the statement, they began to get up and leave.

“If you want to exit this hall, then leave your heads at the door.” Anissa said as her cold gaze shifted to them.

The four Spiritual Awakening elders looked upon her with extreme contempt.

“YOU DARE!?”

“A LITTLE GIRL AS YOUNG AS MY GRANDDAUGHTER!”

“I WAS SLAYING DEMONS WHEN YOU WERE IN YOUR MOTHERS WOMB!”

Anissa merely looked at them with boredom obvious in her eyes.

“Since you have all lived long enough.”

She slowly unsheathed her sword and the suffocating sword intent engulfed the elders.

One of the elders became impatient and charged Anissa.

She swung her sword casually, without the use of any of her sword forms.

The elder who charged her felt his head fall cleanly from his body, death found him in both body and soul.

It was common knowledge, the attacks of a true sword cultivator contained enough power to cut not only the flesh but the very soul.

“Just who are you?” the three remaining elders asked with a terrified expression on their faces.

Anissa slowly spoke while inhaling and releasing a light blue aura.

“The one who was forgotten and the one who was lost, will be found in the vestiges of eternity.”

Her already blue eyes began to glow.

“Heed his name, the Forgotten one, for I am his calamity and I am his disaster. I am the ocean here to drown you.”
