The four Heavenly Eye cultivators were in a deadlock.
Elder Musan and Pyari were under the impression there was a named treasure here.
A named treasure was something above even a spiritual weapon, a weapon that grew with their wielder, if a treasure was named and it meant that it had attained spirituality and had a mind of its own.
The Dao Lord of the Celestial Haven Sect already possessed one such treasure.
If they managed to obtain another treasure like that it would shift balance of power.
None of the other factions could allow that.
Grand Elder Claris was merely ordered by the Sect master to follow Krimin, unaware if there was actually a treasure here.
Only Madam Hua knew of the creature being the prize.
But all of them were experienced enough to know simply telling the other party, that there was no treasure, would not be enough.
“Should the three of you even be here given the circumstances?” Madam Hua asked.
“The war.” Elder Musan said simply.
“It is a non factor, it will be sorted out by the Dao Lords.” Grand Elder Claris chimed in.
“I wouldn’t be so sure.” Elder Pyari also made her thoughts known.
…
Krimin and Daiyu looked up at the sky.
“This isn’t good, I did not foresee this.” Daiyu spoke in an annoyed tone.
Krimin tilted his head slightly as he gave his input.
“I’m no genius but from what you told me, there's two orthodox factions, one neutral and one unorthodox faction up there. Shouldn’t the orthodox and neutral faction just ally and drive away the unorthodox?”
She shook her head.
“Labels are just that, labels. All that's going through their heads right now is how they can secure whatever thing of value is in the mountain. In the face of greed it's no longer about factions, it becomes about each sect and eventually it just comes down to the individual. What if the cave contains something that can directly ascend you to a Dao Lord? None of the elders up there would want to miss out on something that important.”
Krimin nodded in agreement.
Behind them on the ship a serious argument was taking place.
“Stop leering at the cultivators from the demonic sect, It’s unbecoming of us righteous path disciples.” Orion spoke in a meek tone while stealing glances at the women of the Dual Divine Demon Sect.
The demonic sect practiced dual cultivation however since the disciples all practiced the same technique they could not dual cultivate with one another, thus they always took opportunities like these to make connections.
“Senior brother you say that yet you keep looking.” one of the female disciples spoke up noticing his contradictory behavior.
You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.
Orion quickly turned his back on the temptation and cleared his throat.
“I was merely surveying for enemies, you wouldn't understand.” he tried to defend himself.
The disciples collectively nodded.
“But Senior brother even those recluses that are meant to have their heads buried in books are staring.” a male disciple wearing glasses spoke up.
The disciples turned to look at the ship carrying the disciple of the Sect of the Sacred Sage.
They truly had no shame, openly leering and talking to the demonic cultivators.
“Futian, have you no morals!”
Orion yelled at a familiar face on the ship.
A young man with long black hair that fell to his shoulders, dressed in a similar fashion to Elder Musan, turned around and looked at him with a mischievous grin.
“Orion you virtue signaller, have you no manhood!” He yelled back before breaking down in laughter.
However he quickly stopped when Elder Musan looked over at him with an annoyed expression.
Orion felt like yelling something back to him but decided to hold back, he didn’t want Futian say something more incriminating here.
“I can assure you he’s quite the man.” A sweet and flirtatious voice came from the Ship of the Dual Divine Demon Sect.
Orion felt sweat coming down his forehead, he still had his back turned to the ship.
He knew this voice, it was Liza.
The source of the voice was a lightly tanned woman with short hair that was black with golden tips, she was dressed in a tight robe with streaks of purple running through it.
“Oh Orionnnn, don’t ignore me, cutie.” she continued to call him.
The disciples aboard the ship all turned to look at Orion.
“You want us to abstain while you feast huh.” The male disciples thought to themselves.
The female disciples all collectively stepped away from Orion.
Orion knew he had to sort this out quickly.
“Please do not call me, miss, I’m not who you think I am.” he said in a reserved tone.
Liza smirked, emphasizing her dark purple lipstick.
“You really forgot me, wasn’t it in Southhaven Spire twenty years ago, you spoke with much more vigor, oh Liza, oh Liza.”
Now everyone on all three ships was listening to the conversation, bar Daiyu and Krimin, they were still looking for Feng Zhiming.
“You have me confused with someone miss.”
“Aren’t you Orion, future star disciple of the Celestial Haven Sect Orion, can crush a mountain with a finger Orion, can part the seas Orion, the one with a star shaped mole on his lower back.”
“F*ck.” Orion accidentally said out loud.
The disciples looked at him like he was the biggest hypocrite and bragger in the world.
“She told me she was a loose cultivator!” he tried to plead.
…
“You’re insane, you’re telling us we can walk right in and no one will stop us.”
Lyra looked at Feng Zhiming in disbelief.
“I am a man of many talents.” he replied to her before bowing like he was about to put on a show.
Ellia was a little more open to the idea.
“We should let him try at least, after all we have nothing to lose, there's already a blockade at the entrance. If we’re caught the Madam will protect us regardless.”
“Wise knight indeed.”
Lyra was about to say something but stopped.
“Well now, all of you just place a hand on my back, not my chest.” he looked at Anissa, who was still embarrassed from earlier.
“He had spread his hands out right in front of her and faced me, how else did he expect me to put my hands on him.” she thought to herself as she placed a hand on his back.
“Now follow me, while encasing us in a barrier of your Divine senses.”
The three placed a hand each on his back and encased themselves in a barrier of Divine sense.
“And now we become ghosts.”
As he spoke, the Art of Demonic Suppression he previously used on himself spread out from his body and to all three of the people placing their hands on him.
Lyra looked at Ellia in disbelief, if it wasn't for the fact that he stood right before her and she focused on his existence. He would be virtually invisible.
"Devil indeed." she muttered under her breath as Feng Zhiming began to walk.
