Giffard chuckled at this reaction. "Nothing. I will train you in the Glaive. Although I am not as skilled as my katana, I can teach you the basics to gain some skills, just like other weapons. Once you have reached LVL 10 in the [Basic Polearm Mastery], you may buy a stance from the market to properly use it. However...
You can also ask Aino to teach you," Giffard said with a weird, plastered smile.
"Aino? That dickhead? No, I'd rather not" Lucian immediately rejected the idea. He would rather buy a stance instead.
"Don't make such a decision so rashly. He's pretty powerful, y'know?" Giffard said as he tried to reason with him.
"Out of everyone I've worked with, he is by far the strongest Glaive user I've met to this day," Giffard explained seriously. "If you can get him to teach you, I know you will gain much more than you can imagine. That I know."
Lucian understood his viewpoint, but he couldn't see himself agreeing. He was pretty prideful, so for him to reason with that man was hard to imagine.
"For now, we will practice some basic Katana techniques to acquire the [Beginner Blade Mastery]. Once you reach level 3 in your Practice, we'll move on to Glaive practice."
Lucian nodded as he got into a comfortable stance.
"Today, we will practice the basics of the [Quick Draw Stance]. The goal is to learn all the basic skills."
Suddenly he dashed towards the center of the training area. He took out a katana from his space ring.
He raised his sword and sheath above his head.
"[Quick Draw Stance- Overhead strike]," he said as he unsheathed his sword and slashed downward
The moment he ended the strike, he quickly sheathed the blade faster than the eye could see. He got into [Quick Draw Stance] once again. Getting into the same position, he attacked once again.
"[Quick Draw Stance- Defense Break]," he called out as he slashed vertically from his overhead position. Sheathing the blade just as fast as before, he got into stance again with his blade at his hip
"[Quick Draw Stance- Upward Strike]," he said as he slashed from the bottom up.
“[Quick Draw Stance- Horizontal Strike]” getting back into position once again. This time his stance was slightly different, with his waist twisted even further.
"Now watch closely. [Quick Draw Stance - Triple Strike]," he said as he unleashed his blade. This time, his blade twisted in its path, forming three different paths as he slashed forward. Immediately he sheathed his sword once again.
Twisted his body even further, he unleashed the next stance "[Quick Draw Stance - Severing wave]," he said as his sword unsheathed far faster than before; cutting the air as a wave was created by his slash, moving forward 15 meters forward
Breathing slightly heavily, he again got into [Quick Draw Stance], a sharp look appearing in his eyes. He twisted his waist even further and was ready to unleash his final slash. "This is the final blade. Pay attention, and one day you might master this skill. [Quick Draw Stance - Flowing Tempest Strike]!" he roared as he unsheathed his sword. His blade burst forward through the air as it moved through space with incredible speed and momentum. By the end of his strike, he couldn't even count how many slashes he made with that one attack.

Lucian was shocked at each attack's power, especially the last one. From what he could count, he attacked more than 15 times in just 1 second that the sword was out. However, looking at Giffard after the last attack, he realized how draining that previous attack was. Giffard was covered in sweat as he seemed completely drained of his stamina.
"The Quick Draw Art takes the philosophy of the katana and refines it to the absolute peak!" he roared as he pulled his body up shakily. "To master this skill. Hesitation must be cut! Fear must be cut. Either your enemy dies, or you will." a fearsome aura Lucian didn't expect from him radiated out after he spoke.
"The path to mastery is harsh, and few still walk the road steadily. Do you have the heart to walk it?" Giffard asked as he regained his regal aura, the sweat on his body instantly evaporating. He stared into Lucian's eyes, and Lucian stared back.
Staring into Giffard's eyes, Lucian felt his resolve waver slightly, only for it to solidify even stronger than before. He faced far more than this in his lifetime, far worse situations. He had faced death, Incarnate. Compared to his past, this was nothing, only the beginning of his violent path to supremacy.
Staring into his eyes, Giffard noticed the resolution in Lucian's eyes. "He must've been through a lot in his past life. Strong...." he thought. He reined in his gaze and smiled, his aura returning to its previous gentlemanly and kind state.
"Good," he said with a nod. "Let's get started then, shall we?"
"We will begin training the basics of these skills. We will start with the movement technique. The technique's strength is the power one can unleash in a short window. With that in mind, speed, changing trajectories, and evasion are the focus of your movement when engaging an enemy." he began.
"The movement technique we will learn is called [Severed Moon Burst]," he said as he took a couple of steps back to demonstrate. "It takes these themes and combines them into a movement technique that gives maximum speed, as well as the ability to change directions at a moment's notice, allowing you to evade much more efficiently," he said.
He then slowly began to demonstrate the movement patterns to learn the technique. Slowly ramping up his speed, he eventually turned into a blur of speed, which changed direction almost like a ball on a pool table. It was incredible.
Slowing down, he then asked Lucian to try practicing. Lucian believed he could actually use the skill. However, he needed to act like it would take time for him to learn lest he exposes how powerful his innate ability is despite Giffard's opinion.
Shakily reenacting the movement, he completes the first movement.
*Ding*
[New Skill- Severed Moon Burst acquired]
"Good. Now to learn the skill, it would require we practice it a few hundred times," he said with a genial smile.
"Again!"
Lucian practiced the movement technique 50 times.
"Ah!" Lucian commented.
"I've acquired the skill!" he said with a cheerful smile.
Giffard, however, stood in complete shock. He seemed extremely surprised that he had gained the skill. He looked toward Lucian in amazement. "This is a level of genius far beyond anything I've ever seen. To learn the movement after practicing only 50 times?!" he thought.
Soon enough, Giffard retracted his expression towards his calm demeanor. "that's quite good! We will begin with the next exercise!" he stated.
"What was your innate ability again?" he asked suddenly. He seemed nonchalant, but he was betrayed by the intrigue in his eyes.
"[Creative Momentum]. It allows me to gain comprehension the more I create," he said as he looked toward Giffard in suspicion.
Noticing his expression, Giffard laughed in amusement. "It seems like your ability will play a big part in your strength in the future," he said mysteriously.
"Oh, you think so?" he asked as he stared at hit skills.

He grinned internally. "I thought you said it wouldn't be useful until a higher level," he said.
Shaking his head, Giffard admitted. "I was wrong."
"You definitely were," Lucian thought.
Many hours went by as Lucian practiced each skill Giffard taught diligently. Like before, he usually learned the skill on the 1st or 2nd try. Yet he waited till about the 50th time to tell Giffard. If he was surprised by gaining the skill at 50 attempts, 1 or 2 would definitely break his jaw from the shocked expression his face would display.
Eventually, they practiced all the basic techniques, concluding the day's training. "From now on, we will spar with these techniques until they become part of you. Once you have reached level 30 in any of the skills, we will begin including mana into your training and teach you skills requiring mana" he stood back with a large smile on his expression. He was excited about how fast Lucian picked up his skills. For a Chosen to use his skills to battle in the future was a great honor.
"Good! Now that you have learned the skill system, Practice will determine your skill level." Giffard commented as he put his katana back into his space ring.
"Now, I will teach you the basics of the Glaive," Giffard said as he took out a large Glaive similar to his own from his space rings.
Getting into a wide stance, he aimed his Glaive forward as he smiled.
"Attack me."
