"STOP!" Lucian roared, startling the hunter. He lost his concentration which gave him a bit more time. Passing through the forest, he quickly scooped onto his shoulder and began running in the other direction.
"STOP. WE MEAN NO HARM!" one of the assailants yelled as he escaped.
Ignoring their plea, he glided through the air with [Aerial Steps] at an even fast pace than before, matching up to their speed of chase even with the beast on his shoulder at the cost of an increased loss of health from his Technique.
"WAIT. WE ARE NOT ENEMIES" one of the three yelled.
As he ran, he turned around and saw all three with their hands bare—a sign of surrender.
He slowed down and watched them from a distance, leaving a far enough space away from the three to escape if needed.
He did realize that they could've attacked him when he was distracted trying to save the beast, but they didn't. However, first impressions were essential, and he had a poor image of the three, especially the first assailant. He took a good look at the three.
The three wore similar attire with a dark green overall with many hidden pockets. Their mouths and nose were covered; only their eyes showing. The three had blue, gold, and violet eyes, respectively. A green hood covered their heads. Each held a thin blade strapped to their left and a knife to their right. They also had a bow and quiver full of arrows on their back. Honestly, they looked just like a hunter from a video game.
"Hey there! We mean you no harm. We are from the Town nearby. I'm sure you've heard of the Town Perrnan?" the man in the lead began.
"..." Lucian simply stared.
"We didn't mean to scare you. We had to make sure you weren't an enemy, and looking at your clothes, I don't think that's likely," he said, taking a glance at his clothes or the lack thereof.
At this point, most of the vines holding his makeshift clothes together had been long gone. Luckily, he had a single beast skin covering his private parts that played the role of underwear.
"I'm really looking like Tarzan with every moment," He thought to himself as he glanced at the beast on his shoulder. It was awfully quiet as it stared at him questioningly. If it wasn't so annoying, it just might maybe possibly be cute. Only if it wasn't so irritating.
Lucian sighed.
"Why was I attacked then? We could've skipped all this hassle if one of your guys didn't attack so suddenly," he asked as he glanced at one of the men. The assailant seemed to become agitated at his accusation.
"Well, who goes out into the-" she began, her voice creating a beautiful change to the conversation.
"I apologize on her behalf. She is still new to her responsibility. ". The man interrupted her, putting a hand up to quiet her insults.
"Though I do need to ask, where are you from? Why are you here?" he countered. He seemed genuinely interested as to why he was around these parts.
"I don't know. I woke up in the forest naked with no idea where to go. Apart from my name, I have no memory." he admitted.
Surprise filled his face for a split second before his face went back to normal, catching Lucian's eye. Might they know something?
"Well then. Allow me to invite you to our Town then! Follow me." The leading assailant waved to follow him as he walked back to where he came from.
Deactivating his skill, he walked with them at a casual pace as he put down the beast. He could literally feel their breaths behind his neck as they took weird glances at him and the beast every so often. The fox walked next to him and stared at him in concern. It didn't seem to be used to having strangers around.
It got even weirder when he noticed the avid stare the girl hunter was giving the fox.
Meanwhile, Lucian took a quick look at his stats after his ability was used.

A slight smile crept onto his face. The effects of his last skill were much more manageable than he thought.
Glancing behind him, the leader said, "Hey, by the way, what's your name?"
Turning towards the leader, he said with a slight grin. "It's Lucian"
"Lucian Villin"
"I'm Grayson Balodis. Nice to meet you."
"Hey, I'm Myles Keo."
"..."
The last assailant ignored them, unwilling to give her name out.
"Oh, and she's Violla Al-" Myles began just as he was punched in the gut by a punch out of nowhere. His body curled into a ball as he fell to the ground in pain.
"Who told you to tell him my name? I'll make that decision myself, thank you" She scolded him angrily with her hands balled in fists as she watched Myles sprawl on the floor in pain.
Groaning, Myles managed to get recover enough to speak. "Damn, relax, Vee. I was only trying to be nice...why are you always so aggressive..." he complained as he got back up, a hurt yet teasing expression in his eyes.
"Hmph! Next time, know your place!" she said as she turned towards Lucian with an annoyed look.
Lucian acted as if he saw nothing. He was not going to play such childish games with this girl.
"Hey, Lucian, what were those skills you used there? I've never seen anything like it before. It was like you were walking on air!" Myles said, taking the opportunity to inquire more about him. He was talkative but also straightforward in his questions without hinting at ulterior motives. Lucian liked that characteristic in people.
"I don't really know myself. They just appeared in my head when I woke up. Is there really nothing like it in this world?" Lucian said with an innocent expression. Unfortunately, he couldn't be fully sincere. He didn't know who these people were, so it was better to air on the side of caution.
"Not that I know of. I haven't been to many places in my life, but I definitely haven't heard of such a cool skill before. What is i-" Myles continued energetically before he was cut off by the leader, Grayson.
"Myles, leave the man alone. He has been in this jungle too long to entertain you." Grayson said as he gave Lucian a silent nod. Obviously, he was more tactful than most. Either that or he knew nothing that came from his mouth would be the whole truth.
"Oh, c'mon, Gray! I'm sure he doesn't mind, right?" he said as he stared into Lucian's eyes expectantly.
"..." Lucian simply made some distance between them as he turned to face the front.
Myles saw this as he grew disheartened. Mumbling some curses under his breath, he continued walking in silence.
Grayson grabbed his rings, and a small light flashed out as they walked. "Here. put these on." Grayson said as he pulled out a pair of pants from his ring.
Throwing it in his direction, he grabbed it, partially shocked at his ring's ability. That was new. Did that ring have the capability to store Items?
Raising an eyebrow in his direction, he said with a placid face. "So you lost your memory of spacial rings as well?"
He was probing him.
Lucian replied confusedly with a small chuckle. "I guess I did. How does it do that?"
Turning towards him, he raised his left arm and let him take a good look at the ring. It was simple looking with a design similar to mist on its front. It wasn't anything to write about, but its effects were the complete opposite.
"These are space rings. They allow its user to store any items that are non-living in a private storage area. Usually, it is made by crafters with an affinity for space mana which makes them incredibly rare." he explained as he retracted his arm and turned back once again.
"This one I own is pretty low-level with about a 4x4x4 meter size. The bigger ones are much more expensive, and some even have special effects which come in handy as well," He concluded as he continued walking.
"Hey, maybe we can go to the shopping area and get you some new stuff. You'll definitely need some clothes, at least!" Myles interjected, back to his old self.
"That sounds good," Lucian said with a nod. He would need some supplies to become self-preserving anyway. Maybe he could sell some of the parts he collected from the killed beasts.
"Woo..." Lucian heard a soft howl behind him as the three turned to look back at the fox.
The fox was lying on the floor with its belly up as Violla rubbed its head and stomach all over. It seemed to be enjoying the rubs and petting it was getting.
Seeing them staring at her in confusion, Violla grew embarrassed as she straightened her back and stood formally. "W-What?!"
Shaking his head, Lucian replied. "Nothing." as he began walking back once more.
He took this time to analyze the statuses he picked up while he was conversating with them.
[Grayson - Level ?? R]
[Myles - Level ?? R]
[Violla Allen - Race: Human, Level: 8 G, Class: Elite Magical Hunter]
"What do those letters mean?" he thought discreetly as he analyzed each colored letter. Most likely it had to do with how many limits they have broken through.
"Myles and Grayson's statuses can't be seen altogether. They are probably much stronger than I or Violla, which makes sense."
"Though, I wonder what my status looks like with [Shroud of Protection] active," He probably looked quite suspicious if they couldn't identify him. Probably worse since he was with a fox who had a similar problem.
Suddenly, a loud ruffling entered everyone's ears, alerting everyone to an incoming being.
The ground rumbled as a deer poked out of the distant trees. But then another popped out. Then another. Soon the whole area was surrounded by a herd of deer, some with blue energy surrounding them while others had pristine blue horns that glowed in power.
[Rain-Deer (Common) - LVL 8]
[Rain-Deer (Common - LVL 11]
[Water-Stag (Uncommon) - LVL 13]
"The Deer herd. How did they find us?" Grayson said with slight surprise as he turned towards Lucian.
"I saw one when I first woke up. I followed one of them to the nearest stream to survive," Lucian answered truthfully, equally shocked at their predicament. He had no idea he was being tracked by that deer. He wasn't careful enough.
Nodding in understanding, Grayson turned towards the herd once again. "There are about 15 of them here, with the uncommon one leading the charge. I'll handle the uncommon one. Myles, use your fire to provide control and support. Villa, I'm gonna need you to protect Lucian. No games. Can you do this?" He said as he stared at his team seriously.
Myles nodded with a slight smile. "Roger! We should be perfectly fine as long as the uncommon stag doesn't douse my fire."
Violla as nodded quickly. "Yes. I am ready," she said as he summoned her bow from her space ring. Immediately after, two similar bows appeared in the air on opposite sides of herself. She took a step in front of Lucian.
Nodding in acknowledgment, he turned back towards the herd. "Let's go!"
