Emil was speechless. They just tossed godlike items at him so casually, of course he'd be shocked.
"But... Won't the academy be mad, a teacher helping a student?"
Piers shook his head.
"This isn't a teacher helping his students, it's two uncles helping a relative.
Though the elixir might be a bit overboard since I took it straight out of the Academy's inventory."
Piers spoke like he was proud of his accomplishment.
"Though I'm sure they won't have anything to say about it. I'm a distinguished teacher remember?"
So he could get in trouble for helping Emil after all?
Emil was discombobulated.
Arne, witnessing this event, couldn't hold himself back.
"Kekeke, stop teasing the kid already.
Boy, he's messing with you. Of course we won't get in trouble so use the items with an easy heart."
Emil heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing that.
He looked at the two men in front of him, grateful.
"Uncle Piers, Uncle Arne, thank you."
There was no need for additional words, a simple heartfelt thank you was all Emil needed to express his gratitude.
"Don't mention it.
Like Arne said, you have to make good use of these items. We're trusting you not to get yourself killed understood?"
"Understood."
Still feeling a bit concerned, he pressed further.
"Your father never went back on his word. Assuming you've taken after him, can you promise me to take care of yourself?"
His father never went back on his word, Emil remembered that quality.
He was planning to be just like him, to never break a promise.
"I promise, to both of you."
With that goal in mind, he made yet another promise. Added to his yet to be fulfilled promises.
A few seconds passed before Emil remembered something.
"By the way, thank you for covering my teleportation costs the other day, i would've missed my first day of school otherwise."
Piers smiled at him like usual.
"Don't mention it."
Arne looked outside, at the dark sky.
"You best get going kid, it's getting late.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
I'll come to teach you how to use that sword tomorrow so you'd better be ready."
"Yes."
Emil stood up and turned to leave, hiding the sword and the elixir in his storage ring.
A strange light flashed between Arne and Piers' eyes when they saw the ring.
"Emil, that ring..."
"Oh this? It's a storage ring. My parents left me this."
with the ring's topic brought up, Emil deliberated whether if he should tell them about being an Elemental Saint, but eventually decided not to.
While in thought, he missed the grim expression on Arne and Piers' face.
Breaking out of their stupor, they guided Emil out.
But not before Piers gave him one last item.
"Take this bottle of wine. It has medicinal properties that boosts your energy during the day. It should help with your lack of sleep."
"Thanks Uncle, see ya."
Receiving the bottle and storing it in his ring, Emil walked out of the office, much emotion twirling in his heart.
He couldn't help but grin, his steps light.
He cherished what he had.
Two people who were on his side.
people who supported him, who believed in him, who were his unconditional allies.
Emil never quite felt such a sensation, at least not since his parents left.
From the moment he stepped into the Academy, he was alone. It was him against everyone, him against the world.
From the students to the teachers, everyone seemed to want to take a bite outta him.
In a place like this, having people who had his back, it.
It filled him with a strange sensation.
It made him happy, like he belonged.
Emil was on cloud nine on his way to the cafeteria.
He was planning to grab dinner before going back to cultivate.
He had to consume the Cleansing Elixir.
Elixirs sold at the Academy didn't have grades or whatnot. They were all of the highest quality, with 100% purity, befitting of their premium price.
The effects of this elixir would be tremendous on a normal person, let alone Emil, someone with an innately weak physique.
Emil sat in his cultivation room.
stopping his train of thoughts, he downed the vial before giving it one last look.
The red liquid entered his body and mixed with his bloodstream and mana pathways.
It passed through his entire body, all of his organs, muscles, even bone and flesh.
It wasn't clear how long had passed, but soon enough, black, red and white puss started excreting from his body.
The stench filled the entire room, and the sight was less than charming, like a shit stain in a gas station urinal.
But Emil didn't feel that way.
He felt empowered. He felt light.
Like he just had the best sleep of his life, and was full of energy and vigor.
He took a deep breath, enjoying the feeling of his enhanced body.
*Blegh*
Not for long though, as the smell of shit assaulted his nose and forced him to sprint towards the bathroom at max speed.
After throwing his clothes away, which had no hopes of being cleaned again, and scrubbing himself clean of every last dirt particle, Emil could relax.
Closing his eyes, he started to inspect the changes within his body.
Blood flowed freely through his veins, so did mana through his mana pathways, increasing both his mana power and physical strength by a margin.
Another change was on his appearance.
Emil, originally had a slightly toned skin, with a few pimples and blemishes on his face.
But now, his face was clear of any impurity and his skin color lightened in tone.
He still looked like a sleep deprived walking skeleton who's been denied food and water for the past five years, but it was slightly more manageable than before.
To a degree, Emil even felt like his thoughts were clearer too.
A healthier body a healthier mind, the Cleansing Elixir truly was marvelous.
Jumping out the bathtub, he donned a new set of clothes and headed to the training room to test his powers.
"Attash."
A small flame formed on his hand. It was slightly darker than before, and slightly larger in diameter.
Not to mention the faster casting time.
If he had to give an estimate, his magic power increases by 10% or so.
Emil confirmed his thoughts by delivering a fiery punch to one of the steel training dummies, rattling it in the process.
Next, he pulled out his sword.
"We'll be partners until I become a Squire, what should I name you?"
He looked at the sword's brilliant green hue being reflected from the blade, and nodded to himself.
"Emerald Reflection, how about it?"
Fully unsheathing the sword, he stood up and gripped it with both hands.
"Heave Ho!"
With a grunt, he lifted the sword and weighed it in his hands.
"Ho Ho Haha! Would you look at that?"
He could lift it. Not only that he could swing it too. It was still heavy for him, swinging it around too much would probably sap him of all his strength and stamina, but that didn't work to dampen his excitement. Undeniably, the Cleansing Elixir benefitted his body more than anything else.
