Shame

Nobody was quite up for the challenge.

They weren't afraid of the sword, they were afraid of the one holding it.

But somebody had to step up or else they'd all get yelled at again.

One of the boys, ceasing this opportunity to curry favor with the new teacher, raised his hand and volunteered.

Walking up to Osric, he received the sword from him with much confidence before his face turned ashen.

'what the hell why's it so heavy!?'

He uttered no words but his expression alone was enough to tell tales of his dilemma.

Just holding the sword alone made his hands feel like breaking.

*Chuckle*

Osric burst into a fit of laughter.

"I made this one specially heavy for more power, do you find it to your liking?"

The boy had difficulties replying.

"Try augmenting first, you should be good to go then."

As instructed, the boy put the sword down and augmented his body.

Feeling the power coursing through his blood, he picked up the sword again with vigor.

It was still heavy but managable.

He swung it around a bit under everyone's watchful eyes.

The power emanating from the sword was sure to slash anyone's body into pieces.

"It's heavy but i can manage."

Osric nodded in response before taking out more equipments from his storage ring.

"Alright now everyone line up, none of you are stepping out of this class without trying a Magic Artifact today."

The students hesitated for only a moment before forming lines as instructed.

If the boy could do it then so could everyone else. Not that they could disobey their teach either way.

Both Knights and Mages tried the weapons and armors.

Knights had no problem but the Mages could only wear the armors. The weapons were too heavy for them.

But under Osric's instructions, they were able to combine Telekinesis with their physical strength to lift some of the heavier weapons, while the lighter ones could be used with their physical strength alone.

Mages could use Telekinesis from the get go while Knights only unlocked it at later stages.

It wasn't too powerful due to their cultivation level but it was able to provide some form of support to them.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

Quite some time had passed and everyone had tried their hands on the Magic Artifacts except for one person.

Emil was struggling to pick up the weapons.

He still couldn't augment his body so all he could do was rely on his own physical strength.

However, that didn't seem to be enough. Emil had a small and skinny frame with an innately weak physique, not to mention his broken arm and his cultivation level which was still too low.

All of this combined made it so he was unable to even lift the sword in front of him.

Osric soon took notice of this and walked up to him.

"What's the matter? Just augment your body and lift it already."

His voice caught everyone's attention.

Emil, feeling Osric and everyone's stares tried his best to lift the sword again.

"I can't."

"You can't what?"

Emil struggled to come up with a reply.

A Knight not being able to augment was embarrassing enough, having to admit to it in front of the whole class was even worse.

"I can't augment..."

Emil confessed, feeling shameful as the entire class watched him with scornful eyes.

A few chuckles sounded out here and there, but the teacher did nothing to stop them.

Osric wiped his ears.

"I'm sorry, you can't what?"

"...augment."

A frown formed on his face.

"Stop joking around kid, what was that at the special admissions test then?

You augment and lift that sword right now."

"That was an accident."

"Huh? An accident you say?"

Osric started laughing like a maniac.

"Hahaha, get a load of this.

Nobody augments accidentally. Once you do it you'll know how to do it forever. There's been no such thing as an accidental augmentation before.

Now stop playing around and lift that sword already."

Emil tried his best to lift it as instructed. He put all his strength into it to no avail.

It was beyond his physical capability. He wasn't gonna lift it no matter how hard he tried.

Osric, seeing this, started to believe Emil truly wasn't capable enough.

"Tsk tsk tsk.

I heard you hospitalized one of your classmates yesterday? What was his name? Arthur something?

He must've been even worse than trash to get beaten by you."

He walked to his tablet and found Emil's name before deducing five points from him.

"You lost five points. You'll be lifting this exact sword next time I see you or else it's gonna cost you even more."

Defeated, all Emil could do was drop the sword and go back to his seat.

He lost five points for nothing and was even embarrassed in front of the whole class.

Sure he couldn't augment, but that wasn't the reason he couldn't lift the sword.

If his arm wasn't broken and he could use both hands he'd have definitely been able to do it.

But Osric didn't take that into consideration and just beat on him instead.

Emil's first class ended, leaving him in a bitter mood.

He was sure to lift that sword next week when his arm gets healed and show the old man what he was worth.

As for now, he could only focus on his next class, Magic Science.

Magic Science involved the engineering of Magical Artifacts, fundamentally different from Combat Artifacts with a wider area of usage.

For example, the school badge every student carried was a Magic Science Artifact.

Same for the tablets the teacher carried, or even the stone monolith at the monolith square.

Emil learnt a lot through that class, but what he was looking forward to even more was the next one. Combat Theory.

He was gonna start hunting Magical Beasts for the first time soon, so he was eager to learn how to fight.

The teacher for this subject was not who Emil was expecting.

He expected someone jacked like Osric, maybe with a few battle scars on his face, but he was met with a lady instead.

Annora Grimald, is what she introduced herself as.

They were to call her miss Grimald.

Miss Grimald Had a tall and slender build

With a thicc waist, green eyes and black hair tied into a ponytail.

She could be said to be on the same level as Olbrecht, but no quite as sensual?

That didn't stop the boys, originally wolves with sharp fangs and teeth, from transforming into tame and obedient puppies ready to fulfill her every need.

A wolf in sheep's clothing, crouching tigers, dressing as a sheep to eat the tiger, there were many ways to describe the situation.

Emil on the other hand, still had a bitter taste in his mouth from his experience with that sly fox Olbrecht,

If he'd learnt anything, it was that women were dangerous, specially the pretty ones, and that he had to keep his guard up.

"In this class we'll cover everything regarding combat.

How to fight magicians, how to fight Magical Beasts, how to hunt both solo and in parties, and even little survival tips that could maybe save your life one day.

Your teacher has been a combat mercenary for decades, so there's a lot you're gonna learn here."
