As I jump away to evade the tentacles, Eris and I are unable to help Emy and Velvet.

"USE YOUR MEDALLIONS NOW!" Eris shouts at the two where they both followed right away.

Right when I look around Four tentacles pierced each of my limbs I am unable to let out any voice from shock and pain. My lips bleed after I bit at it from surprise. Eris slowly look behind when the two already disappeared thanks to the medallions. There she saw my hopeless figure. Limbs pierced by the slime tentacles and left hanging in the air. Tears and saliva mixed with blood flow on my face as I look at her now feeling on the brink of consciousness.

"SHIT! ELLY!!!" I heard Eris screaming at me as she cast her frost skill instantly freezing the slime tentacles and quickly catch my lifeless body. She gently put me down the ground as she look for the potion. I can only stare at her face now distorted as if she want to cry but she prioritize my safety.

"Elly drink this!" Eris take a potion from her bag and make me drink it.

*Chug* *chug* "Phew... Thanks Eris." I replied weakly.

"You lost quite the amount of blood already. So use the medallion and return." Eris gently rubs my head.

"What about you... I can't leave" *coughs* "I can't leave you alone." I reply with a cough.

"Don't worry. I just need to work harder. Now go. I can't do something if I am worried with you here." She reassure me once again.

"Got it... Take care." I smiled before I used the medallion.

The light devoured me as I close my eyes. And right when I open it, I saw Velvet crying as Sis gently wrapped behind her on embrace. The two are crying together inside a room that resembles the academy. The two noticed me on the floor where I appear as they hurriedly wipe their tears and run towards me.

"Elly! What happened? Where is Eris?!" Emy holds my shoulders while shaking me looking for answers.

Velvet pats her back before whispering her to calm down. She then kneel infront of me and held both my hands.

"I'm sorry... I am supposed to be the guardian but I am the first one to fell..." Tears drip on her eyes as she beg for forgiveness.

Emy looked at Velvet who looks so defenseless now unlike to how she usually is. She can't help but tear down too as she watch the girl cry.

"Please... Stop... Even I can't help Eris and now I got sent here too. If you or we are going to apologize... Then we should do it together." I asked the two.

"Infront of Eris!" I added.

The two realized the meaning of my words as they slowly gain control of their emotions again and calm themselves.

"So what happened to Eris?" Velvet asked after gaining back her composure.

"She is alone there. Facing the slime. We need to save her!" I told them.

"She have a medallion right?" Emy asked her voice still audibly shaking.

"Should be but... I noticed earlier one of the attacks hit her side and the medallion hidden under her clothes got dragged by the tentacle." I explained what I saw in a split second.

"Damn it!" Emy hits the floor with her bare hand. Now looks hurt as blood vessels slowly making her fist look really red.

"We still have time. We already drank potion. Let's save her!" Velvet said as she slowly help herself up using her parasol as a cane.

"That's right! Can't let her face that enemy alone." Emy also followed as she help me stand.

"But what do we do?" I asked the two. "Even sir bern got defeated earlier."

"That's..." Emy looked shock when she remember the fact.

"How about you leave it to me?"

We three got surprised when someone suddenly answered us. We all look around only to see a girl wearing a light green shirt and same colored skirt. Long wavy hair not so tall yet her whole image looks perfect as if something you can see during spring.

The three of us stares at her unable to utter any word or questions.

"Hello? Please stop staring... It's a little embarrassing to be stared at face to face." She pouts cutely making us realize how rude we are.

"I'm sorry!" I said with a bow.

The two also slightly bow their head.

"It's fine. Anyways you three came from the cave right?" She asked us with a gentle smile on her face.

"Yes..."

"Sis..." I look at Sis after her lifeless reply.

"Apologies if this sounds rude but do you have any way to bring us to the cave right away? There is someone important to us that we need to save." Velvet asked with quite a loud voice while bowing her head.

"Unfortunately I don't have any teleportation like skills but you don't have to worry." She replied.

"Why is that?" Velvet asked curiously.

"I just know." She simply smiled back at us.

Velvet stares at her as if thinking the reason why.

"Anyways can you lead the way to the cave now? Time is actually running." She asked us.

"But there is a strong enemy there..." Emy looks at her.

"Don't worry. Leave it to me." Again. The girl simply smiled.

"Sis! Velvet! Let's just trust her and go already! Eris is in danger!" I urged the two.

"Got it. Let's head to the teleportation area!"

Velvet leads the way as we all head to the teleportation area and use it to go infront of the cave. We quickly head inside running onwards.

"So your friend is Eris?" She asked while keeping up to us running.

"Yes. She is our savior and someone important to us." Velvet answered without slowing down.

"She is lucky she met you all." She smiled while nodding.

"By any chance do you know her miss?" I asked her.

"Maki. Call me Maki. And yes I met her when she arrived here for the first time." Maki replied.

"I see. Around there!" Velvet points at the far end of the path.

We all run faster and upon turning on the corner we saw Eris with a tentacle penetrating her stomach from the her back. Then the slime pulled it's tentacle back leaving a clean hole on Eris' stomach before falling face flat on the floor.

"ERIS!!!" Emy cried as she runs towards Eris.

Eris slowly move her head on our direction before closing her eyes.

"ERIS!!!" Emy reached out Eris body and raised it on her lap while hugging her body. "Stay with us Eris!" She kept shouting on Eris yet no sign of movement happened.

"HEALING FIELD!" The ground suddenly became grass field. Flowers slowly start sprouting below Emy where she is raising Eris.

"Alright please drop her down quickly on the field. This have healing properties. She is still alive but wr don't have time." Maki instructs us.

"Go...got it." Emy wipe her tears before gently placing Eris above the flowerfield.

Vines comes out from the ground as it gently wraps itself on the hole in Eris stomach. The flowers shine as if emitting warm light like a gentle ray of sun in morning.

Eris body slowly starts to heal as if she is getting enveloped by the sun and flowers.

Maki walks forward towards the slime.

"Stay at Eris side. She needs that while I do something to this one." Maki smiles at us before facing the slime.

Velvet sits above Eris head and gently place her head above her lap. Sis and I sit on Eris opposite sides while we hold her hands.

We all watch Maki face the slime alone.

"Field of thorns!" The ground shakes violently before countless pure red roses grow from the ground. It grow as high as 10 inches from the ground completely covering the field frozen earlier which probably made by Eris.

The slime starts by releasing many slime tentacles from it's body. The tentacles tip hardens and starts vibrating like a drill before all of it attacks in many different directions towards Maki and us behind her.

Yet Maki simply stand and wait for the attacks to reach her. The moment the tentacles gets close to her, the vines suddenly hit it. Slapping it away as if whips are hitting the drills. This continued for a while until all the tentacles finally got chopped till it became short. The fallen pieces of slime tentacles dropped on the rose. Instead of returning to the original body, the slime pieces got absorbed by the roses as if the flowers are drinking it like blood.

Suddenly 3 slime tentacles appear from the ceiling directly diving towards Maki's head. But multiple vines entwined the tentacles and crush it with it's grip. The falling pieces also got absorbed by the roses.

"Wow... She makes it look easy." Emy claims.

"Yeah. As if she can see everything. She didn't even bother looking at the tentacles above." Velvet also added.

(Does she have a skill or something that let's her detect...)

"Nope. I don't have one." Maki looks at me with a smile.

"Did you read my mind?" I asked curiously.

"Nope. I just know what you will ask. Or to be precise I already heard it." She explained.

"How?" I asked.

"Deus ex machina. One of my dice series. It allows me to experience something in the future with my five senses. In this case I already heard you ask it. As for the tentacles I already saw it." She explained further.

"Wow... That's cheating." I replied.

"Hahaha. That might be. Anyways time to finish this." Maki raised her hands after she spoke and then with a chant.

"The nature's bottomless growth lies on the soils potential. Get devoured and become nourishment so thy land prosper once more. GAIA'S END!"

The land slowly opens as if the earth itself open it's mouth. The slime about to drop but it extends it's tentacles as it hold on the wall. Hundreds and thousands of vines appear from the bottom of the opening and it crawl towards the slime. It wraps itself and tighten and tighten and tighten until the slimes body broke into pieces. The pieces that scattered all caught by the vines as each vines gently wraps it on it's embrace before slowly dragging all pieces towards the hole then closing the ground. Returning it to how it looks before. After it's back to the normal ground, the soil itself became lush green like grass fields and flower blooms.

"This is how many lives taken by that slime. Truly befitting of someone receiving the trait of greed. Now you will be used as nourishment and will let this flowers bloom beautifully." Maki utters as she look at the flowers on the ground before walking towards us.

"Now Eris should be healed already." Maki said as the vines wrapping Eris stomach slowly undid it's wrap revealing Eris pale skin. Now her stomach without even a single drop of blood.

Emy can't help herself but touch Eris' belly. Trailing with her fingers where the hole lies before. Tears flow from her eyes as she quickly hug the laying body of Eris up the ground. Velvet followed suit and hug the two. I felt relieved and joined the fray as now the three of us are sobbing loudly in the cave while hugging the unconscious Eris.
