"The monster is coming on your way velvet!"

We are now trying out velvet's skills in area 10. Strangely enough she requested to let the two sisters watch us today and instead only me and velvet will go grinding. Not that I mind it I just think it's weird.
Looking at velvet standing in the way of a raging deer which is a level 35 monster I kind of feel concerned at her but I watched nonetheless because that is what she told us.
As the deer's horns about to hit velvet she quickly open her purple parasol and spin in then after few seconds we all saw the deer stopped on it's tracks confused. Hell even me and the twins are now wide eyed staring at her what just happened.
"Now Eris! Blast it!" Velvet shouts at me waiting with an open parasol at hand aiming at the deer.
"Go... Got it! Flare!" I replied followed by an explosion of flame swallowing the deer whole.

"That should do it." Velvet claimed as she now starts walking towards me using the parasol to hide her pale skin under the sun since it's still morning and frankly speaking the sun feels scorching hot right now.
(Her class are supposed to be guardian but that doesn't explain what just happened. A raging deer running at her then all of the sudden it became confused after colliding with her parasol.)
"How is it?" She then asked me now facing two steps infront.
"What did you do earlier?" I asked curiously.
"Yeah I'm curious about that too. It doesn't look like a guardian skill to me. Infact I might even believe if you say it's a confusion debuff or something." Emy added as she and Elly now standing behind me.
"You don't need to use skills for that one. I simply let it collide the parasol and spin it clockwise. What made the deer confused is probably the parasol. Due to the impact it's brain probably got concussion or something." Velvet explains.
(So that's the case. She used the deer's momentum and let it collide the parasol but now the question is how did she absorbed the impact with her slender body without getting knocked out or sent flying?) The thought comes to mind as I stare at her body.
Velvet meekly tried to cover her body and proceed to tease me again. "Come on Eris. I know we are all girls and you are into one. But that doesn't mean you can stare at my body openly like that." Followed by a grin clearly showing her face now grinning openly.
"So you really like girls Eris?" Emy followed behind me now patting my shoulder.
"No! I am thinking how did the impact didn't sent you flying with that slender body of yours velvet!" I replied defensively trying to explain my way out.
"Oh that's simple. My class is guardian remember? I have a skill called shock absorption. It's a passive skill that allows me to withstand impacts in exchange of damage. That said it didn't even damage me a single bit due to experience and this parasol." Velvet explained.

"Yes about that I'm wondering. Is that parasol perhaps?" Elly asked velvet as she now touching the parasol beside her.
"Yep it's a custom equipment. When closed it acts as a dull blade while when it's open it acts as a shield." Velvet explained. "Well the main reason is because I love it's design." She added before handing it to Elly so she can observe more closely.
"Wow such soft and silky design. I'm surprised It can absorb such impact without getting damaged." Elly said as she now delicately trailing the parasol's lacy design with her fingers.
"Well that is because I am using reflect wall on the parasol itself. That way it won't be damaged."she explained. "By the way reflect wall as it's name suggests it is a skill where you can enhance your shield so it won't decrease it's durability and transfer the damage it should be receiving to the dealer instead. That said it only works the best when the enemy is melee which happens to be this deer." She added with a smug.
"That makes sense. You really thought this through!" I praised velvet as I held her hand with a beaming smile on my face. "I am really glad you joined us."
"Well... Atleast you're grateful." Velvet looks away embarrassed.
"Hey calm down Eris you are making her uncomfortable." Emy pats my back informing me.
"Oh my bad." I quickly let go of her hand. "That said let's farm more exp and maybe this week we can now head to the last area."
"You want to head there right away?" Elly returned the parasol to velvet and joined in.
"Yep. Honestly speaking I am getting bored on killing monsters here in area 7-9" i replied. "So today let's grind at area 10."
"Perfect. I need some warm up since I got stuck at that inn for a long time." Velvet exclaims.
"Same here. I can now withstand the sight of blood so I need to start becoming useful." Emy shows enthusiasm as she flex her muscles.
"You are a healer sis act like one!" Elly replied laughing at her sister.
"Any plans for today miss strategist?" I look at Elly waiting for her suggestions.
"Now that we have a frontline I have something in mind."
"Sure lets hear it."
The plan goes like this. Velvet stands infront and Elly sill wait few steps behind Velvet. While Emy will stand behind me watching the rear and I just like usual will decimate the enemies. The only difference now is unlike before, Velvet will now deal with taunting and receiving the enemy while Elly will now focus on impaling them.
"I have a skill called taunt so it won't be a problem. Leave it to me." Velvet proudly claims.
"Bu... I'm still useless... I should learn some supporting skills." Emy pouting behind me.
"Don't worry sis I will follow you later and let's look for some skill dice. I am also looking for some ways to defend myself planning to make my skills more on the duelist side." Elly cheers her sister.
"That's a good one. Since Eris here is a walking killing machine and I can sponge all the damage. It would be nice to have someone who can solo if needed." Velvet Continue walking onwards as we all had a discussion.
Right now we all decided to head at the deepest part of area 10. As for why we are sticking at our formation already, it seems area 10 are infamous for raging deers. That's why we are letting Velvet head on first so we can receive it's attack right away.
"Three incoming!" I alerted them after I saw three running towards us.
"On it." Velvet readies her parasol open wide as she now concentrates before shouting. "Taunt!" Which quickly makes the 3 deers shift their attention to velvet and continue running.
Velvet swiped her open parasol to the deers form left to right each of them absorbing the impact from the deer's onslaught. Which prompted Elly right away to follow now that the deers are not moving.
"Ground pierce!" Multiple earth pikes now erupted clearly stabbing all the deers in place which is now my cue to unleash my favorite.
"Flare!" Fire quickly swallowed the deers body leaving it all to nothing.

"Easy!" Velvet hangs the open parasol on her shoulders now returned to covering her head from the sunlight.
"I didn't do anything..." Emy groans.
"Geez sister. You are a cleric. A healer. You will do your job when someone gets injured. So brace yourself and make sure you do your job properly when that happens. Can't have you getting scared from blood if one of us gets injured okay?" Elly scolds Emy without facing her as we continue our way.
"I know! I am just getting stuffy and stuff." Emy replied.
Velvet chuckles from the sisters banting.
"You seem to be enjoying yourself velvet." I asked.
"Well your party is quiet a lively one." She replied.
"Well with my sister like that, its hard for things to stay quiet." Elly sighs.
"Hey!" Emy added as we all laughed after her reply.
The walk continued as we get deeper in the woods without breaking our formation. A couple of those deers randomly charging to velvet from time to time but never actually managed to hit any of us behind.
This went on till we reached the entrance of area 11.

"Let's end this for today." I told them as we all gather infront of the entrance.
"Nice work guys." Emy still feeling giddy after not doing anything.
"Nice work!" Her sister said while hugging Emy.
"Certainly that is quiet a good haul. So this is how you always grind Eris." Velvet sighs.
"Hey it's not that bad. If it's not that dangerous I might even stay whole day you know?" I proudly claim.
"See? You are an addict." Velvet grins.
"Yeah yeah. At grinding okay?" I replied.
"Well then let's return. Can't wait to wash in the bath." Velvet stretches as she leads the way back.
"Good idea. It feels so hot and I'm sweating." I followed velvet which behind me the two sisters also follows without Elly releasing Emy from her clutches.
