Third Person's POV;
“What is a blood scum doing in our lands?”, asked one of the four obviously loyal Kiri Ninja. Three of them were men and one a woman, the typical Ninja team of four. And, like it's often the case, the woman was the range fighter. She stood in the back, holding an elemental bow made out of water.
Her body was slim and build for quick evasive movements.
The elemental bow was a B-Ranked Jutsu and could rank up depending on the skill and Chakra use of the archer.
One of the males stood next to her, no visible weapons in his hands, but Dexter could sense how he created water based Chakra inside his body for the use of some higher ranked water Jutsu.
The remaining two men were in the front, one of them held a large war hammer, obviously somewhat Chakra conductive. The brown glow of earth based Chakra was a definite sign.
And last but not least was the man who asked the offending question. He had a sword in his hands. Not one of the seven, but still better than what many would find outside of Kiri.
Dexter faked a confused look and scratched his head with one of his tails. He then looked down at Yuugao, “Is this bigot meaning us or the two hiding behind in the puddles?”.
Everyone was taken back by what he said. The two in the puddle because they were found, Yuugao because she hadn't found them and the loyalists because they weren't taken seriously by a blood scum. Blood scum normally cowered in front of them and would beg for their lives, not that they were given any mercy. The exception were these damnable rebels with this bitch Mei Terumi as their leader.
“Foolish little brother, they did mean you and your fluffy tails. Even if I can't understand how someone can be blood scum”, answered Yuugao while using one of his tails to point at the four.
She wasn't this playful normally, but Dexter had this strange kind of aura that made people do strange things. Like patting a tail, while being threatened by four enemies.
Okay, the fact that these four were barely above Chunin was also a factor for why she allowed herself to let loose.
Dexter used one of his tails to mimic a beard and stroked it absent-mindedly while looking as if he was in deep thought. “Well, my dear sister, it certainly seems so, now that you've said it. In this case, let me be the one to take out this trash”, he then said after his third stroke. Suddenly six of his unused tails glowed at their tips and a small Rasengan formed on the tip of each. Each of the six tails then shot forward as if they would pierce something and the Rasengan disconnected from the tip. The blue sphere of Chakra raced towards their targets like bullets.
Their targets in return expected some form of attack the moment Dexter created the spheres and thought to be ready. However, only one of them was fast enough to evade the Rasengan. The hammer user was hit in the chest and the blue Chakra manipulation Jutsu grounded his ribcage, heart, and lungs to a fine mist of blood and bones. Left was a dead Ninja with an almost separated upper body. His buddy, the one next to him, tried to jump upwards and got his knee ripped off from the grinding force.
The woman tried to shoot the incoming sphere and even managed to land a hit, unfortunately, she only hit it when it was half a meter in front of her. Pure Chakra manipulation met elemental Chakra manipulation and it came as it had to come. The Chakra mixed and exploded violently the moment the balance was tipped in favor of one side. A small version of a water based Rasenshuriken exploded right in front of her and the water pressure ripped the skin off of her face and upper torso.
The last one, the man next to her choose to duck and evaded the Rasengan that was aimed at his upper body. He was, nonetheless, hit by the water Rasenshuriken that exploded next to him. His arm was perforated by tiny water bullets and looked more like a swiss cheese than a normal arm.
The thought that his now destroyed arm protected his left side from any lethal damage was only a small consolation.
“You can use the Rasengan in such a way? How did you do this?”, asked Yuugao in wonder, while slightly cringing over the gore. As a Ninja, she had seen much, but spilled intestines were never pretty.
“You have to use Chakra threads to keep a connection with the Rasengan, these threads can be used as guides for the actual attack”, answered Dexter while walking over to the man with only one leg.
He activated the Demon path and sucked the memories out of the Kiri Ninja. Information about a few bases, patrol plans and minor missions were streaming inside Dexter's head. All of them were quickly sorted and placed in a neat 'cache' for future use by Kurama.
He did the same with the sobbing man who was holding his damaged arm. The man tried to plead for mercy but was quickly shut up when he felt that his soul was sucked out.
“What was that?”, asked Yuugao. She noticed no physical attack, but both clearly died shortly after Dexter had touched their foreheads.
“It's a skill of my eyes, I don't think it would be good to say anymore while being in company with unknowns”, answered Dexter. He then looked at the puddle with the remaining two Ninja.
They held a silent conversation and came to the conclusion that coming out would be the best solution. These two obviously knew where they were and killed the loyalist bastards. The last thing alone was good in their books. That one of them was obviously with some kind of bloodline was also a positive sign for a possible alliance.
So both came out of the puddle. They had breathing apparatus and wore Kiri headbands that were double-crossed. Nuke Ninja had one single horizontal cross, theirs was in a wide x line.
“What's up?”, greeted one of them with a cheerful expression, the other one just waved lazily.
“Hi, did you know those guys?”, asked Dexter and pointed down at the disfigured face of the dead woman.
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
“Personally no, but they were part of the loyalist faction in the Kirigakure civil war”, answered the cheerful guy. “No friends of us”, he then added.
“And you?”, asked Yuugao. She knew that these were rebels and that she was here with Dexter to find them, which doesn't mean that she had to blurt it out to them right away.
“You're part of the rebel faction aren't you? Did Zabusa came back?”, asked Dexter from her side and she nearly faceplanted from his direct approach.
“Boss Zabusa?”, asked the cheerful guy. The other one hadn't yet muttered a single word.
“Yes, met him during a mission in Wave, told him I would come over and lend a hand in his little war”, explained Dexter nonchalantly. Yuugao frowned a little at that when was Dexter in Wave? There was this one time where he was on a support mission with his team to help Kakashi, was it at this time?
Come to think of it, after his return, every Jonin got a dossier about a seal master that fought and beat Guy.
So Dexter had his hands in this as well? How many missions has he done under her nose without her realizing anything? His blood clones were truly a cheat.
“Good, I'll go ahead and ask for orders, while my buddy Sano waits with you. There is a small cottage a few minutes to the Northwest where you can stay for the night”, explained the cheerful one. He got a nod in reply from both Dexter and Sano before jumping away.
“He will need three hours to reach the camp. Means that we are stuck together for the next 7 or 8 hours”, grumbled Sano with a gruff voice, he then turned Northwest and walked away without waiting for either Dexter or Yuugao. Fully expecting them to follow, which they did.
A few minutes later they reached a small hut that had seen better days in its life, it still had four walls, but the roof was leaking and there must have been more than one nest of vermin inside at one point in time.
“Lovely”, commented Yuugao at the sight of cobwebs and thick dust layers.
“And what should we do now?”, she asked after cleaning and sitting down on a table.
“We can either talk or take turns in guarding while the other rests”, answered Dexter. He then looked at the silent Sano;” Sorry dude, but you aren't included in the rotation list. Trust and all that”.
Sano merely waved him a hand in dismissal and sat down in a corner of the room.
“Hmm, we were already walking for some time, let's each take a three-hour nap and then talk more. You mentioned a Pakura and how she is constantly praising her Genin, she sounds funny”, decided Yuugao.
“Sure, I take the first guard”, nodded Dexter. He then took a blanket and bedroll out of a seal and handed them over to Yuugao. She also grabbed one of his tails for some cuddling and was fast asleep.
“Your little sister seems to like you a lot”, said Sano suddenly almost an hour later. Both of them looked down at the sleeping form of Yuugao, cuddling one tail in her hands and a second somehow pressed between her legs and arms. A sweet smile was pasted on her face.
“She's my older sister, but yes. And I like her in return”, answered Dexter. He wiggled a little with the tail in Yuugao's hand and it got hugged tighter.
“Keep her safe, war is fast in taking away what we love and cherish”, he advised with a solemn look.
“Lost someone”, asked Dexter, more out of boredom than interest. He's part of a rebel faction, it's almost a guarantee that he has lost someone.
“My little brother and parents, we have a minor bloodline that allows us to communicate with forest animals. Was enough for the Mizukage in his craziness to attack our parents and him. I was out on a mission at that time, could only bury their bones”, he told quietly. The room fell into silence again, Sano not in the mood to continue and Dexter not interested enough. So it was still in silence when Dexter woke Yuugao up two hours later.
She nodded to him and let him lay down on her makeshift bed. She then sat down next to him and patted one tail and his hair absent-mindedly. Something that hindered Dexter from falling asleep, but it was comfortable as fuck, so he didn't complain.
And again almost an hour later spoke Sano, “Your older brother seems to like you a lot”. It was the same words, even if he already knew that Yuugao was his older sister. Something that caught Dexter's interest, was this guy fishing for information? If so, then he was bad at it. Information gathering needs more than a sentence in an hour.
The other guy would have been way better.
“He's my little brother and I hope he does, I know that I do”, she said proudly with a puffed out chest and in fondness.
“Take good care of him, people like us have it hard in times like these. Especially for someone who looks this vastly different”, he then said and motioned to the tails and ears of Dexter.
“I know, but it's not like he can't take care of himself, and he has a lot of friends to help in the unlikely case that he isn't strong enough”. Yuugao played her own information game, she was hinting at the fact that Dexter was really strong and had strong allies. Not something really convincing without proof, but things like these are bound to be mentioned if this guy is questioned.
And a third person might see things differently. Someone with enough paranoia will see this statement as a real possibility. And rebels are one thing above all, paranoid. They have to if they want to survive in a state that is hunting them.
Well, we already knew that this guy wasn't the best in gathering information, so his choice to, again, stay silent wasn't really surprising. He stayed silent until Yuugao woke Dexter up and even beyond that.
Now, almost eight hours after the cheerful guy left, Dexter sensed a group of twelve. One of them had Chakra on the level of a low Kage, another two were of a high A-Rank Jonin, while the rest was either high Chunin, low Jonin or mid-Jonin.
The Kage level individual had the high A-Ranked Jonin closely by as well as another lower Jonin ranked one.
“They're here”, warned Dexter. He then stood up from his sitting position and Yuugao followed suit. She positioned herself slightly behind Dexter to the right. A position that showed that Dexter was in command. She also put her mask on, this was now official business.
The door opened and inside came a group of four. Two women and two men. One of the men had spiked short blue hair with an eye patch over his right eye. He wore blue traditional clothes and held himself in a posture of known confidence.
The other male was Zabusa, he had his sword strapped on his back and a wide grin was showing itself from under his bandages.
One of the women, the younger one, was a traditional beauty. Long silky black hair, a petite body and a beautiful grace in her step. Of course, it was Haku.
And last but not least, especially in this case, came a red headed heavily chested woman. Mei Terumi, the leader of the rebels and the one with the low Kage level Chakra.
“Masked? People in my generation wouldn't be this rude”, muttered the eye patched guy.
“Don't get all riled up old man, we know that you're about to keel over”, laughed Zabusa.
“Good to see your masked self again Dexter Uzumaki”, he then added and gave a silent question towards Yuugao.
“Nice to see you too Zabusa, still sore from the beating I gave you the last time we saw each other?”, replied Dexter. Zabusa tried to growl dangerously, but the whole thing wasn't really intimidating with Haku giggling next to him.
“Yes yes, I don't mind being beaten by a Kage. Could've said something”, grumbled Zabusa ultimately.
“Anyway, let me introduce you to my two colleagues. This old grandpa is Ao, and the beautiful lady next to him is named Mei Terumi. She is, in fact, our leader”, he added, yanked a thump to Ao and then gestured with a wide and grandly to Mei.
“Nice to meet you, especially you Mei. The woman next to me is Neko, a good friend of mine”, replied Dexter and also indicated to Yuugao.
Mei for her part was in her own world. This man found it especially nice to meet her, so he wants to know her, which means that he likes her, so he wants to go out with her and then marry her.
“Mei-sama, it would be wise to answer”, said Ao while leaning over to Mei.
He had to say it directly in her ear, didn't he? He surely thought she wouldn't understand anything if he was a little bit further away. She was sure that Ao did this because she was older than this man, thinking that her hearing was getting bad.
“Shut up Ao or I'll kill you”, she snarled. Yes, that was the only correct answer at such an insult to her age.
“Yes Mei-sama”, replied Ao evenly. As if this was common, which it really was.
“Zabusa said you wanted to help us in our war?”, she then asked while assessing the man in front of her. He obviously had a bloodline and looked good. She was sure his face would also look good if it wasn't for this creepy mask.
“Indeed, do you mind a change of scenery? This hut is kinda dull”, answered Dexter.
“We can go to our camp, but you would need to get blindfolded”, offered Ao.
“Hmm, no can do. I don't like blindfolds. And it's not as if it would stop me from going there and back. I had the option since Zabusa got back to you”, declined Dexter.
“Children in my generation wouldn't be this rude to their elders”, mumbled Ao for being put down.
“What do you mean since I am back?”, asked Zabusa with a none existent raised eyebrow.
“Exactly what I said. You have a tracking seal on you, I could both travel and find you where ever you were”, explained Dexter. He then put Chakra into Zabusa's seal and a blue glow shone through his bandages. The glow came from his shoulder, his left chest, his stomach and his knee.
There were also two seals glowing where his eyebrows should have been. These seals now mimicked thick, blue, and glowing eyebrows.
Again, Zabusa's growl wasn't effective thanks to Haku's giggling. Mei was also laughing silently and even Ao, who up till now hasn't shown any signs of emotions, had a small smile.
“I see that a blindfold would be pointless”, stated Mei still with amusement.
“Yes it would, please lead the way”, said Dexter. Mei, on her part, heard that she should lead the way, meaning that she would act as the aggressive one in this partnership, so she would be the one to ask for a marriage.
“Ähem, Mei-sama. I'm sure he meant that we should show them the way to our camp”, commented Ao.
“I know Ao, so shut up or I'll kill you”, threatened Mei. She then smiled at the two masked individuals and the group walked outside. They were greeted by the remaining Ninja before all of them began to tree jump back to the main base of the rebels.
