4 - Ice

Gray went through a series of tests and he found that his body was incredibly weak at the moment, and his muscles were actually tearing themselves apart from all the unrestrained movement.

Also, through numerous tests as well as his own instincts telling him so, he realized that his body truly was only ten years old at the moment, and even his mentality was affected by it, making him slightly prone to impulsive decisions and complaints.

And eventually, after messing around for a while, he finally decided to delve into the thing he was the most excited about, which was his restored dantian!

As he spread his senses, he was suddenly overwhelmed by a pure wave of Qi that entered his body even without his conscious command.

He was taken completely by surprise as the Qi entered into his body, and he was forced to instantly adapt to it.

However, it wasn’t too much, just within the realm of manageability as he was unprepared.

However, now that he was prepared, he suddenly consciously summoned as much Qi as he possibly could, only to find that the air itself was affected and a slight breeze appeared as the sheer amount of Qi flowing into his body caused a physical change in the world around him!

‘Just what sort of ability is this? Being able to summon so much Qi that the world itself has to supply the Qi just to keep up?’

It was needless to say that he was utterly shocked at the moment.

And on top of that, he didn’t even have to actively guide it through his body as it instantly entered into his dantian, forming a pure inner energy unlike anything he had ever seen before.

He hadn’t even used an elemental cultivation technique, yet such pure inner energy was formed! It was shocking to him.

But what surprised him more than that was that the inner energy, despite not actually containing an elemental power, was actually extremely cold, and it seemed to be directly of the ice element even without using an elemental cultivation technique.

And this actually perfectly aligned with his goals, because he had to use an elemental power other than fire or metal since those were what he used previously, and the techniques would be recognized.

And since he was the crown prince of his kingdom, he naturally had access to the best techniques, whether they were of his element or not.

And since ice was the opposite of fire, he naturally would study it so that he wouldn’t be weak to it, meaning that he also had a greater knowledge of the ice element than other elements.

With this in mind, he started to sort through all the ice elemental techniques in his mind and found the best ones and also the most suitable ones for his fighting style.

‘Let’s see. There’s the Frost Phoenix technique, the Ice Lotus technique, the Blizzard God technique, and the Ice Palace technique.’

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

These were the four strongest ice elemental techniques that he knew.

The Frost Phoenix technique was one that condensed ice feathers and ice flames that were based off of a true ice phoenix. It was more power oriented, and it also had a great recovery constitution. It was by far the most powerful of the techniques in terms of attack power.

The Ice Lotus technique was focused on forming an incredibly strong defense, and it would allow one’s body to become much stronger as well as allow for many unique combat skills. It had the most powerful defensive ability among the skills.

The Blizzard God technique would focus purely on the coldness of ice and would be able to summon fierce freezing gales that were an incredibly powerful combat technique. It also contained the ability to increase one’s defense to an insane level. It would allow one to have the most balanced strength when it came to attack and defense.

And finally, the Ice Palace technique was focused on building the most powerful foundation as possible. It would make every single aspect one had equal to each other, and though it was slow, it would build by far the most stable foundation of any of the skills and allowed the most equal distribution of attributes.

All of them were great choices that would allow him to grow much stronger, and they were among the best techniques on the continent.

Each had its own benefits, and they were all roughly as good as each other, but in the end he could only choose one as his base cultivation technique.

Finally, he made his decision, and he picked the Ice Palace technique. Even though it was slower than the other ones, it was overall better for his future.

However, just as he was about to start cultivating with it, his instincts went hyperactive and told him not to.

His instincts had never done this before in his life, and he didn’t know what was happening, but the more he tried to use this cultivation technique, the more his instincts were screaming at him, to the point where he was actually starting to feel faint.

As such, he was forced to give up on this technique, and he tried the Blizzard God technique. However, the same thing happened.

In the end, the exact same thing happened for every single base ice cultivation method that he knew.

‘What the fuck is happening? Why can’t I use these base cultivation techniques?’

Then, he realized something. Perhaps the reason he couldn’t use them was because none of them were actually suited for his ice oriented inner energy.

Curiously, he tried to form some inner energy of another element separately from the rest of his power, and it worked fine using any technique he could think of, as long as it wasn’t of the ice element.

He then completely dispelled that other energy of other elements since it was just a test to get information.

‘Maybe my inner energy is oriented towards pure ice rather than modified ice?’

All of those techniques weren’t suited towards the pure element of ice since they were more geared towards a certain aspect, such as attack, defense, or stability.

However, the pure element of ice wasn’t aimed at any of these, and instead encompassed everything equally purely based on the nature of ice and its ability in those areas.

In this way, ice was more suited towards defense, corrosion, sharpness, and stability.

As such, he would have to create his technique.

However, he found that the moment he started experimenting with pure ice Qi, he was able to form ice elemental inner energy using a technique that came from his bloodline itself and allowed him to innately understand how to use it.

Instantly, his bloodline power, which he didn’t even know that he had until this moment, had told him how to use an ice base technique on an instinctual level, and it was far more effective than any base technique he had ever gotten his hands on!
