Gray headed out of his crappy hotel room and headed towards a tavern nearby.
After going into the tavern, he ordered a glass of juice (because he’s still underage lol), and he started to listen in on the conversations around him.
Most of the conversations were either related to people’s personal lives or related to the celebration in a few days.
However, he heard some more news relating to the Blood Order, the second ranked force on the continent and the public enemy of the whole continent as well.
The Blood Order, as the name suggested, was filled with those who practiced demonic and evil methods, often including sacrifices, slaughter, butchery, and genocide.
In fact, this was the very force he was accused of aligning himself with that led to his downfall. However, that was a story for later.
The news that he heard was that apparently the Blood Order Patriarch had broken through a few years ago and reached the half-step High Spirit Realm, the High Spirit Realm being the realm above the Spirit Realm and half-step being halfway there.
This meant that the Blood Order had officially reached equal strength to the strongest power of the continent, Gray’s old master.
To say the least, this was incredibly bad. If he got any stronger or even overcame his old master, it would spell certain doom for the whole continent, and there would be no choice but to join the Blood Order to survive or you would die.
In fact, his master was aware of this point, and he had tried countless times to seek out the Patriarch, but to no avail. He had hidden so well that even those of the Blood Order weren’t aware of his whereabouts, and only the top three in the entire Order knew where he was and even then only at certain times.
And it was incredibly difficult even to find the top three since they were constantly moving around the continent, meaning that in the end it was essentially impossible to find him without sufficient strength or luck, of which his master had neither.
It wasn’t that there was nobody stronger out there, but the contact with other continents was incredibly incredibly rare, and this was not only due to the distance, but also the fact that the other continents were leagues stronger than this one, with even a single medium sized force there being stronger than this whole continent by leagues.
Most of those that went to other continents either died on the journey, died when they got there, or never returned to this continent since it was so weak in comparison.
In this way, it was incredibly unlikely that the other continents would help them at all even if the Blood Order took over and slaughtered everyone aside from them.

In short, the Blood Order Patriarch reaching the half-step High Spirit Realm was incredibly bad.
With this knowledge, Gray could no longer recklessly destroy a kingdom anymore. It was only if certain conditions were met that his plan would change. Instead, he had to start weakening the Blood Order as well, which came easy since he had a natural ability to distinguish traitors from normal people.
This ability came with his sensitivity to Qi, meaning that he could determine the element of a person’s Qi, and no matter how hidden it was, if there was an element of blood or yin in it, he would be able to tell. Of course, this didn’t mean that the person was a traitor by default, but it was a very very good method if he simply didn’t care, which he didn’t.
This was a newfound ability that he had after his rebirth, hence why he hadn’t discovered traitors in this way in his previous life.
During his trip here, he had found a few bandits that were traitors, so he knew that this method worked. Most of them had one primary element, but he could sense the hidden power of blood or yin that let him know they were traitors.
However, before he fell too deep in thought, he forcefully pulled himself out of his trance and left the tavern, heading back to his crappy hotel room.
There, he spent the remaining six days until the celebration cultivating in absolute silence.
Finally, on the day of the celebration, he headed out of the crappy hotel room, heading towards the center of the city where the celebration was being held.
It was held in a massive venue that was several miles wide.
In the venue, there were all sorts of attractions, including an arena, food stalls, shops, and all sorts of games you could play.
In the center of all this was a stage where the king would give a speech and everyone would applaud the princess for her engagement.
Gray looked around before even reaching the actual venue and realized that there were thousands of guards absolutely everywhere. There wasn’t a single part of the perimeter that wasn’t being watched at this moment, and every single person that went into the venue was being checked.
However, despite most people not having anything that could threaten the ceremony, Gray could very clearly sense a slight bit of demonic Qi in the air around him, and he could tell that there were traitors among the crowd.
He could also sense some powerful fluctuations of demonic Qi coming from underground, and he was absolutely certain that there would be an attempt on the life of the royal family members or the important figures that would attend. Or at the very least, it was being monitored by someone powerful enough not to be detected in a normal way.
But as someone who wanted to take down the kingdom anyway, why should he care about an attempt on the life of the ones he already hated? If not for the fact that he couldn’t take down the whole kingdom without putting the continent in peril, he would even help to contribute to the downfall of the kingdom.
But just because he wouldn’t contribute to it for the time being didn’t mean that he would stop the natural course of events.
Little did he know that he was totally wrong.
Putting these thoughts aside for now, he headed toward the arena.
‘It’s about time I get to stretch a little.’
