Gray and the blacksmith headed into the forge, intent to forge a pair of sabers.
“So what’s your name?” Gray asked, realizing that he had forgotten to ask the blacksmith’s name.
“My name is Varn, what’s yours?” His voice was gruff, but he didn’t sound unhappy in the slightest. Instead, he seemed much happier than normal.
“My name is Gray.” He didn’t waste any time wondering about who he was supposed to be, and he just responded.
“I need a fire elemental saber for my left hand and an ice elemental saber for my right hand. For now, they only need to be low tier Spirit Grade weapons. As for my requirements for them, I need them to both have an energy channel over the edge of the blade and they need to be as heavy and durable as possible.”
After saying this, he waved his hand, taking out two large chunks of material. One of them was a cold pale blue steel, and the other was a deep scarlet metal.
“For them, we’ll be using the blizzard steel and the scarlet iron.”
Handing the two chunks to Varn, he waved his hand again and continued speaking.
“Other metals are too weak for me, as my body is unnaturally strong.”
As he spoke, a normal high tier Mortal Grade sword appeared in his hand, and he grabbed it directly by the blade.
Creaking and groaning sounds came from the blade as the edge bent and cracked, not even cutting into his skin. Chips fell off the surface, and the blade started shattering bit by bit as cracks spread further and further.
Eventually, under the power of his grip, the parts of the sword he had grabbed shattered entirely, the three remaining parts falling to the ground with loud clanking sounds.
Normally, Varn would be disturbed by such a blatant show of disrespect towards a weapon, but he could also see that the weapon was definitely one that was mass-produced and it wasn’t well made either. He just used it as a way to get his point across.
Varn was naturally astonished at Gray’s physical strength, but it just reassured him that he was an incredible genius.
Gray then took out a sketch he had made for a very simple saber. It was essentially just a flat piece of metal with a sharp edge and a handle. There wasn’t a hand guard or anything fancy on it. It was simply a blade, and nothing more.
“The two sabers need to be able to combine into one, like having them be two halves of one weapon. I’ll handle all the formations on them and set them up myself; you just need to make the actual blades themselves since I’m not at the level at which I can make them myself yet.”

Varn took the sketch and nodded, clearly showing that he knew what to do.
The grueling process of forging then began, with Gray telling Varn exactly what to do and exactly where to do it, making sure that the sabers were exactly to his expectations. (I don’t know enough about forging so please pretend there’s a forging paragraph or three here)
The whole time, Gray kept watch over Varn’s moves and made sure that every single thing he did was seen under his enhanced eyes.
Anytime he saw that a mistake was about to be made or that something needed to change, he would point it out with expert precision, and he would even point directly to it, his arms burning from the heat of the forge.
However, he didn’t care and continued.
Finally, when Varn had started the process of sharpening the two sabers, Gray suddenly exploded with power as thin lines, one pale blue and the other red, exited his body and started snaking into the sabers.
Soon, those lines vanished entirely, and the sharpening process was completed. Gray left the forge and went nearby to test out the sabers while Varn went to study the new forging techniques he had gotten.
As Gray had requested, the two sabers, one pale blue in color and the other a deep scarlet, were extremely heavy and didn’t focus on sharpness, but rather power.
As per his second request, the sabers could indeed be put together. As he put them together, he could clearly feel the different powers of the two sabers rejecting each other, but he then activated his own inner energy, sending a wave of ice and fire into the now single saber.
Instantly, the two sabers, which were originally rejecting each other, calmed down, and their power even began to intermingle and connect, activating what Gray figured was another part of his ability to master all opposite elements.
He had long ago started cultivating the power of fire along with his ice, but so far his ice was far more powerful, which was why he used it in battle. Besides, it was hard not to kill people weaker than you while using the power of fire.
His bloodline power seemed to be more oriented towards ice, and the ice power in his dantian was far purer than anything he had ever managed to see or achieve in his previous life. Of course, this was just his assumption, as he truly knew nothing about the bloodline itself or its origins.
In comparison, despite being a top technique of this continent, the fire technique he was using seemed all too weak in comparison.
Currently, within his dantian, more than 70% of it was filled with the pale blue icy inner energy, while the remaining 30% was filled with a fiery red inner energy. Despite him having worked hard to even them out, this was the best he could do. The ice was overwhelmingly powerful compared to the fire at this moment.
He then took the two sabers apart once again. When the icy inner energy flowed into his left sword, it seemed to gain a layer of ice over the surface of the edge, and it became exponentially sharper.
When the fiery red inner energy flowed into his right blade, its edge was surrounded by a glowing red light, and it seemed to be red hot. Its destructive power had increased massively.
He then calmed his energy, the powerful auras vanishing from the two sabers and retracting into his body.
‘It’s time.’
He headed towards the center of the venue, towards the stage where the speech would be given from.
And there, he finally saw the face he had been burning with desire to see.
His brother and… his dead fiancée? And they were… both emitting demonic Qi?
