Gray wasn’t surprised to find that both the Princess and the one she was engaged to were corrupted by the Blood Order.
Considering that both the King and Queen were corrupted and she was their daughter, it was natural for her to be corrupted too, and since the Blood Order now had political power in the Riven Kingdom, it was obvious that they would set up a marriage between the royal family and another corrupted family to give them more position and power while still remaining in the shadows.
It was a genius plan, to say the least.
He figured that the same thing was also likely happening in the other kingdoms at various stages of corruption. He didn’t realize that the situation was quite this dire.
In just one generation, he was sure that the Blood Order would have absolute control over the continent without even having to fight. Even now, they could very easily take over the continent without much issue.
The Old Man couldn’t even do anything since he couldn’t find the patriarch of the Blood Order, and if he couldn’t find the patriarch, he couldn’t eliminate the roots of this corruption. Even if he could find him, he wasn’t sure that he could actually eliminate him, which furthered the issue.
And even if he was aware of their corruption, he couldn’t just go around killing people, or else he would lose the common support of the continent’s forces, and the whole continent’s fate would be sealed as everyone descended into chaos without a common cause supporting them.
Even if they were still against the Blood Order and were together on that, they would be even more helpless when facing them due to their mistrust of each other and not knowing if one of their colleagues had betrayed them.
In short, the continent was in much worse shape than one would think by looking at it. The common people were completely unaware of this, and even the highest levels only had an inkling of the knowledge required to fight the problem.
For the entirety of the speech and the celebration thereafter, Gray didn’t move a muscle, standing completely still like a statue.
Yet this wasn’t exactly the case. Within his body, all his power was circulating all around in all different ways, intermingling in different places and causing different things to happen.
The night passed on, and everyone eventually started leaving as the festivities came to an end. Yet Gray still stood there, alone.
His eyes had closed at an undetermined time, and he was currently lost in his mind.
The next moment, his body moved entirely on its own without his mind even needing to do anything, and his two sabers were crossed behind his back as a small clang sound rang out.

His eyes fluttered open as he turned around slowly, looking at the small metal needle on the ground. The whole needle was purple in color, and it contained a powerful aura of poison. However, absolutely none of that aura was able to escape from the needle itself, meaning that it was completely imperceptible.
However, let alone the fact that he could sense Qi itself and its nature, his instincts for danger would also alert him in enough time to react. Such an attack would never work on him.
However, he was curious as to where it came from. He looked around, increasing his senses as much as he could, and he found a few suspicious auras all clumped together in a group.
He moved towards where they were, all the while his aura growing more and more vicious. The sabers had already been drawn and separated, his left hand holding the pale blue icy saber and his right holding the deep scarlet flaming saber.
Noticing the bloodthirsty aura, the people around him, fewer though they may be, moved away and called the guards.
The group of suspicious people also were about to move away when they suddenly let out groans. A second later, their eyes started glowing red, their veins bulged, their hair started falling out, and they madly charged towards him.
“That’s the Blood Forming Body! This boy has already exposed several spies in the arena, and he has done it again!” Someone yelled out what they knew as soon as they saw the situation.
Rumors had already spread far and wide about this monster child who had the strength of an expert at the mere age when most started cultivating for the first time.
However, in the next second, two individual sounds of a blade cutting the air sounded, and the groans and roars from the four stopped.
The next moment, their still moving bodies fell to the ground, and their heads kept rolling in that direction. Gray was standing just past the bodies, looking at them in disdain.
He retracted his power from the two sabers, the red and pale blue lines on their respective edges receding into the handle and then into his body.
At the same time, he pushed a small wave of power around them, and the blood was essentially wiped off of the two blades, dripping onto the ground.
He was quite satisfied with the performance of the two sabers, and they had actually somewhat exceeded his expectations when combined with his pure inner energy of ice and fire.
‘My strength should be about the same as before, but my attack power has increased exponentially.’
He then put away his sabers and went on his way.
As expected, many people tried to approach him, but he rejected all of them. This even included the Riven royal family’s invitation to join their forces. And his reason was that he now had a better plan.
He went deep into the forest, and after reaching a suitable location, he simply sat down, seemingly waiting. He was cultivating, but he was clearly also keeping watch of his surroundings.
For two weeks, he sat there, doing nothing but cultivating.
Finally, what he was waiting for happened, and a woman draped in red clothes appeared in front of him, a striking beauty with glowing red eyes.
He recognized her to be the same woman he had met with before he was killed. She was the second-in-command of the Blood Order, the Blood Witch.
However, she was more well known by another fact, and that was that she was the Blood Order Patriarch’s mother!
