Chapter 47. Xania's a bit drowsy.

Xani infuses divinity into the memory cube, easily causing it to turn cyan quickly and break open unlike before when her divinity was insufficient.

“Alright, time to see what is in this.”

Xania watches as the environment around her turns into a completely ruined kingdom, in the middle of it being the same woman as before, the one with cyan coloured hair, holding the one with reddish hair who has many injuries on her enough to be lethal.

“How interesting huh? I’m watching somebody who is basically in the same situation as I am.”

Xania keeps watching as the cyan-haired woman doesn’t move or do anything for a moment before pulling out a scroll, making Xania pay close attention and notice a magic circle’s design on it.

“Wait… isn’t that the same one Davien gave me?”

Xania looks closely as the woman infuses divinity into it, disappearing as the environment changes into a weird stony room, the room not being too big with an altar in the center, a magic center engraved into it as the woman places the red-haired women into the center of the altar, infusing divinity into the magic circle.

Xania watches quietly, mesmerized by the woman’s control over her divinity as she infuses her cyan-coloured divinity into the magic circle perfectly. Cyan-coloured divinity being difficult but not impossible for Xania to imitate at the sacrifice of her control.

“This is… amazing.”

The environment changes back to her bedroom as the memory ends, Xania taking out the scroll and looking at it before looking at Anise.

“Should I just try? That level of control shouldn’t be impossible to imitate since divinity is similar to mana. But if I mess something up, Who knows the consequences that could have.

Xania infuses divinity into the air, the shape of the magic circle on the scroll as nothing happens.

“Crap, this old scroll must have gotten some parts damaged so the magic circle doesn’t work anything, screw it.”

I’ll try to copy the magic circle I saw just now in that case.” Xania thinks, using her divinity to make a magic circle in the space in front of her, the magic circle going out of control too quickly as it quickly scatters into the air around her.

“Dammit, I suppose there is one more solution since the time it would take to get my control to the level of that woman may take years.”

Xania materializes some of the material she found in that final room she saw before back when the key pulled her into the mountain with the weird voices, failing with mana as she tries again with divinity.

“I suppose mana and divinity have different materials with different properties they can create.”

Xania successfully creates the material and stares at it, using divinity as it just bounces off. “Perfect, most materials just absorb mana or divinity so making a mould to help with a magic circle usually fails unless that material has some resistance to mana or divinity but, my control over divinity is nowhere high enough yet, I suppose I’ll have to visit Hepast.” Xania grabs the materials, teleporting them with her as she ends up in his forge, surprising him.

“You ought to inform me before you teleport in.” He grumbles slightly to himself.

“Here, take this. Can you forge this into a magic circle?” Xania passes him the material which looks like a slightly transparent version of marble.

“Of course I can, as long as it isn’t as hard to melt as the material you provided me with for your weapon.”

“I’m not sure, haven’t tried it before.”

Hepast starts to grumble again, taking the materials from Xania as he starts trying to melt it.

After half an hour of trying, he gives up, pulling it out of the fire.

“How do you expect me to do this?”

“My bad, let me help.” Xania starts using fire magic, turning it up slowly, keeping it up for a while before stopping due to having no change.

“As much as I would like to help, I can’t, not when it’s so tough to do so.” Hepast says as Xania sighs, carrying the still hot materials into her hands.

“It’s no problem, I’ll figure it out.” Xania teleports back into her room, staring at the material and sighing.

She tries for a couple hours before giving up.

“Dammit, why can’t this just work…”

“It’s not like I’m asking for too much, just work!” Xania angrily hits the marble like material, coating her hand with divinity subconsciously as it immediately gets flattened like doubt.

“What…?”

Xania hits it again without divinity this time, immediately hurting her own hand as she pulls back.

“What is happening?” Xania thinks, coating a finger with divinity as she pokes it, easily causing it to be pushed in.

“What? Nevermind, this isn’t the priority right now. I have to get this magic circle to work before trying it out.”

Xania starts coating her hand in divinity, moulding the material into a magic circle, taking a couple days of non stop work due to the magic circle being a meter in diameter along with many symbols and shapes, all that were new to her. The thing wasting the most of her time being her own mistakes and lack of control over her hands, sometimes pushing it too far or not enough.

“It seems the material only changes shape when a physical substance coated in divinity touches it not just divinity itself, so divinity makes it soft instead of controlling its shape huh.”

Xania finally finishes molding it, teleporting and getting a pig before killing it, placing it on the magic circle as she stares at it for a moment.

“I guess if this doesn't work, I'll get Davien to get the hell back.” Xania uses the magic circle, infusing her divinity and dark mana carefully, causing it to turn curb as it fills up the magic circle.

As it fills up completely, Xania stops infusing divinity and mana into it, watching hopefully as the pig comes alive for a moment before dying due to a large hole in its stomach due to Xania using concentrated mana to blast a hole into it.

“That worked, that definitely worked, even if it's just for a moment.” Xania looks at Anise for a moment, bringing her body on top of the magic circle before noticing the cracks still on her body.

“Right… I can't let Anise see me like this, let me try something.”

Xania starts using magic on herself as the cracks in her body fix themselves with a weird side effect.

“I… got shorter? Oh, it used my body mass to fix the gaps, I suppose that's a small price to pay for such heavy damage.”

Xania looks at Anise, using healing magic on her body to ensure she stays alive after coming alive and preparing to use the magic circle.

“Here goes…”

Xania starts trying but fails due to using nearly all her divinity to revive the pig.

“Damn, guess you'll have to wait a couple days more, Anise.”

Xania sits on the ground, leaning against the frame of the bed. Fatigue catching up to her due to working nonstop for a couple of days followed by using almost all her divinity to fix herself and revive a pig.

“Hey, I feel a bit drowsy…”

Xania falls asleep against the bed frame due to her exhaustion instead of simply liking sleep which is the main and usually only reason she sleeps usually.
