Anise tries it, trying to recall the feeling when she was experimenting with Xania's divinity that she took from Xania's leftovers.
As she does so, she manages to get it to turn it slightly blue before she falls suddenly with Xania catching her in time.
“Anise, I told you you couldn't though I suppose you still got some divinity. I assume that's due to our familiar contract”
“My lord, how discouraging.”
Anise stands up by herself before sitting on the ground waiting.
“Anise, what are you doing?”
“What do you mean? You still have to infuse it into the gem thingy don't you?
“Yea, I suppose.”
Xania starts to infuse her divinity and dark mana, waiting for a change.
20 minutes later, she starts feeling wobbly and stops, staring at the gem which is completely cyan in colour before her.
“What just happened? Why did it not work?”
“My lord, maybe you need more divinity? It's clearly working, maybe you just don't have enough.”
“Well… I suppose that's possible?”
“How about we take it first and figure it out later?”
“Sure.”
Xania grabs the gem, passing it to Anise as she notices her wanting it.
“Anise, do you like Cyan colour or something?”
“My lord, I just like it since it's smooth and nice to touch, the cyan also looks like a mist inside the black gem which makes it look nice, als—”
“Ok… relax, I didn't need to know all that, just keep it first.”
“Sure.”
The small elevated rectangular platform with a square base the gem was on slowly descends into the ground as the ground itself also slowly starts to descend, bringing Xania and Anise down with it.
“My lord, should we really be going down?”
The ground closes above them as Anise goes silent.
“Anise, your mouth loves screwing us over.”
“...”
Anise sits down on the ground, messing with the gem as they reach a massive room underground, the floors made of many squares, each of different sizes and height, white in colour along with the ceiling and walls as she sees a massive path forwards.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“My lord, could we just stay here?”
“What?”
“Yea, this place looks great!”
“Wow I didn't think you were someone who preferred looks over practicality.”
“So what?!”
“How about you just make this your retirement home?”
“Right, you promise. So nobody else can have here.”
“Whatever…”
Xania and Anise start walking down the massive hallway, a slight light glowing from the end of it, getting brighter as they go.
“My lord, it's not too late to back out now you know?”
“Actually…I think it is.”
They close their eyes due to the brightness and keep walking, ending up in a completely white and bright room but somehow not causing their eyes to burn up despite the brightness.
“Anise, you there?”
“Yes my lord, I'm here.”
Xania looks behind, finding Anise right behind her as she grabs her wrist.
“Stick together.”
“Sure my lord, but…”
“But?”
“It feels like I should be the one grabbing your wrist instead of you since you're usually the irresponsible one.
“...” Xania thinks for a moment before shrugging and letting go, letting Anise whole her wrist instead.
“Right, this feels more normal.”
They suddenly hear a chuckle causing Anise to hide behind Xania.
“Anise… what are you…”
“My lord, it's a ghost!”
“...”
They suddenly hear the person keep chuckling before sighing.
“You two are pretty special huh?”
“Who the hell is this?” Xania asks as Anise starts hugging Xania while hiding behind her.”
“It's… none of your business.”
“Rude.”
“Does it matter? Here, take this.”
Xania watches as a key handle extends from the floor as she takes it annoyed.
“Right… you gave me the unimportant part.”
“You gotta find the important part out yourself.”
“Of course I do…”
Suddenly, a person as white as the surroundings appears behind Anise, tapping her shoulder.
Anise faints.
Xania looks down at Anise before kicking her awake.
“Ouch! What the hell was that fo—”
Anise sees them again, hiding behind Xania.
“Well, don't worry. I'll tell you who I am next time we meet again.”
“What makes you think we'll meet again?”
“Because you need more divinity to open that gem don't you?”
“...”
“Also, you're curious where the key leads aren't you?”
“...”
The person disappears, leaving Xania and Anise behind, forcefully teleporting them out.
“... Rude bastard.”
“My lord! Is the ghost gone?”
Xania gets irritated and smacks Anise on the head as she backs up, grabbing her head in pain.
“What the hell was that for?!”
“Stress relief.”
“This is a betrayal!”
Anise bites Xania's hand, as Xania pulls away, wiping her hand.
“Ah ha! I made you hurt too!”
“No, I just hate other people's saliva, who doesn't?"
“Then what if I kissed you?"
“Then I'd really, really hate it.
“Are you saliva conscious?”
“That's a thing? Also, I don't think that's the problem here.”
“Yea?”
“I guess I am.”
Anise grabs Xania's hand, biting and kicking it as Xania tries to pull her off.
“Are you crazy?! Aren't you supposed to be the mature one?!”
“So what?! Being mature doesn't get me anything! So I'll screw you over!”
Somewhere back in the previous room.
Two figures stare at an orb showing Xania and Anise.
“Look at those two!”
“Right… is it okay to be wasting energy like this?”
“Yea don't worry, she accidently wasted too much divinity when infusing it into the fragment of memory due to a lack of control so we're okay.”
“Oh, that makes sense as to why you didn't get bombarded with questions.”
The figure stares at the orb again before clapping their hands, causing it to switch off.
“How nice that it succeeded huh?”
“Yep.”
Back with Xania and Anise.
Xania finally got Anise off of her, wiping her hands on Anise's shirt.
“Disgusting.”
“Deserve it.”
“What for?!”
“You're the reason we suffered through that.”
“yea yea, got it.”
“I'll kiss you if you don't take this seriously!”
Xania immediately backs up, knowing Anise may actually do it if she keeps annoying her.
