Across town in an industrial section of town. Down a darkly lighted, trash filled alley. Towards the end butting up against a half falling in wall. Stood a non-descript trash bin. Well stood is only half right, it was turned on its side. From within the darkest depths of the gaping hole. A faint acrid scent wafted out. A faint flash of red light, lit up the interior. It lasted for scant moments, than was gone. Crawling from the bin was … well nothing this world had ever seen before.
A multilimbed amalgamation ambled along on its six appendages. Wobbling like a sailor on shore leave. One of the legs was that of a chicken, if chicken legs were blue. Another leg was reptilian in aspect. More like an alligators leg, but with way to many joints. One leg was that of a spiders. It was pitted down the length. With strange scars. Those scars were leaking a smoky green haze. The other three appendages were tentacles. Two with grasping claws. While the final reached straight up, curving slightly at the end. To form a large single eye.
The …torso of the eldritch thing. Well it looked almost like chewed up bubble gum. It undulated back, and forth. In a very vomit inducing way, with each shuffling step. The eye scanned the area. It than froze, noticing a protruding leg from a cardboard shanty. It attempted to race forward, but lost more traction the faster it tried going. It slowed to keep balance. Showing more intelligence than should be allowed. It slunk forward. It than disappeared into the temporary abode.
Seconds later the leg spasmed, the box shook…than lay still. Minutes later the leg slid into the box to re-emerge. What came out could not be recognized as human anymore. In the dark two red glowing eyes stared hatefully around. A rasping semblance of a voice called out “I have returned!!”
The indistinct figure moving much more smoothly now. It walked back towards the trash bin. It raised one of it's arms. Power surged up, illuminating a grey claw filled hand. With an electric cascade, it thrust forward its hand. A new glowing red orb appeared deep within. “Come my children, feed, grow, rip and rend. Suck the juices from their marrow. Conquer all before us. For we are Legion."
Small shapes of a myriad of nightmare enducing forms. Started to exit the trash bin. They were all about the size of a rat. They flowed out in one’s, and two’s. Than a small river of figues poured out. The clawed hands glow began to falter. The light went out. “Too weak… Hunt my children. We have more of us to invite to the slaughter." With that the figure dashed to the end of the alley sniffing the air. There were small numbers of game to hunt in the area, but everything would eventually become fodder for Legion.

In a dark warehouse pleasantly lit by hanging Christmas lights. Randomly glowing super hero figurines, were attached to give a touch of ambiance. Below the lights. A dilapidated couch sat with two slouching teenagers. They looked to be half growing out of the cushions. Eyes staring at an immense 60 foot flat screen tv. On the screen a mousy young news reporter. Was shown standing in front of a volcano. It was spewing multi-color lava onto the surface.
“All the geological surveys taken. All the volcanologists we have spoken too. Keep repeating that this is definitely not a normal occurrence. Mole hill has been dormant for the last 47 million years. It was considered to be safe. As to the strange colors of the lava. Their our only guess is that a gas pocket, of some type must have been breeched. It must be tainting the molten rock as it travels. The nearby towns of Hinton, and Dayton, Virginia. Are being evacuated. While no injuries have been reported yet. The estimated cost of damages are in the millions, and growing. There is no estimate on when it will end, as the flow has not decreased. This is Emma Waterside reporting from ACB news."
The teens looked at each other “That looks very trippy." The glazed look in his eyes was obvious. “I know” said the other. He continued saying. “With all the crap happening lately its pretty sad when a volcano spewing rainbow muck is not even the top story." The older of the pair turned back to the screen. “Ya like that spooky green fog around the George Washington national forest. I never visited Bluff mountain, cause of all the spooky stories. Adding a green fog doesn't make me want to run out to visit. They don’t even mention it anymore." The younger of the pair got excited for a moment. “I saw a thing on click clock, where the pyramid in Giza was shooting a big fuck all light up into the sky." The older of the two looked back, saying. “Bah Johnny that’s just cgi to boost the tourism business. The Luxor casino in Vegas does the same thing, noone seams worried about that." Johnny tried a different approach. “But George what about that video on Creeper. Of the guy shooting fire balls at helicopters?” The look of annoyance returned to George. “Psshh give me a Roman candle, I can do the same thing." The Johnny replied. “Look i’m just saying some crazy shit is going on, more crazy than normal. You know the media hides 99% of the strange shit going on. So it doesn't cause a panic. If what we are seeing online is only 1% getting through… What about the other 99%?” That caused the George to stop, and consider.
He took a few seconds than replied. “OK so maybe strange shit is going on. But what can we do about it?” Johnny sighed. “I don’t know really. Maybe we should try securing our windows? Also the doors. Maybe go gather munchies. Just in case things go all Mad Max out there." George scoffed. “Now that’s being paranoid noone is going to find our little bunker.” Johnny stood up annoyed. “Bunker? It’s a half collapsed warehouse. We are lucky we were able to splice into the powerlines, without getting caught. If anyone tries to get in, the broken windows are not going to stop them." George stood up also. “OK ok we can go scavenge some stuff to cover the windows, and doors. Happy now?” Johnny smiled. “I will be once it’s done."
