"My father"

Those words made Ray tremble. He never knew that the gentle guy in his memory is the one who killed her sole sister. "Are you sure?" Ray asked.

"Yes" Jade responded with a cold tone.

"Now it makes sense why this kid expresses a terrifying image when I say something about his father." Ray silently said.

"Why did it come to this? What happened between your parents?"

"I actually don't know anything at all. I just remember the last words of my mother which is to not yield my power to become a monster like my father."

"Monster?"

Ray suddenly had a flashback of his sister and her boyfriend enjoying each other's company and now he's actually a monster? Just what kind of brother am I to not notice things?

While Ray is still blaming himself inside his mind, Jade suddenly spoke.

"Their relationship was actually okay until mother discovered something on father's-no, that man's room which is I have no idea about."

"Discovered something? What could it possibly be?" Ray muttered

"After that, he treated mother like an animal, he beat her up to the point all her bones are fractured." Jade suddenly tears up again because of this unpleasant memory.

Ray clenched his fists hearing that his sister faced such cruel fate. Once again, he blamed himself for not being there and failing to protect the important things around him.

After a minutes of silence, Ray spoke, "I've decided, I will kill your father with my own hands, is that alright with you?"

Jade felt his uncle's bloodlust that made him conscious of how terrifying the man in front of him is.

"No, I'm not gonna let you do that." Jade said.

"What?"

"You suffered a lot already right? You retired so you could have a peace in your life so don't involve yourself." Jade said with a serious tone.

"Kid, you may be right but I don't care. It's my sister's life we're talking about, I'm solely asking you what will you feel if I kill your father because I know you probably have fond memories with him. You don't have the means to stop me." Ray responded with a cold voice.

"Mother knew everything about you, that's why I'm here because mother knew where you were. When mother told me your stories, I actually also thought of you as an amazing individual to the point I wanted to be like you."

Ray once again got angry after Jade mentioned how his sister admired him even though he abandoned her.

"So? That's why I will extract my revenge in the first place. My sister whom I abandoned still thought of me positively? That just gives me the right to kill your father!" Ray shouted with agony on his voice.

But Jade didn't back down to this overwhelming pressure, "No, you don't get to do that task." Jade coldly replied.

"What?"

"I'm the one who's gonna kill that man, that's what I had in my mind every second after he killed my mother. You're my stepping stone that will help me kill that man. I got here with the thought of learning how to fight from you or rather, I want to learn how to kill."

Ray couldn't help but be surprised, those terrifying remarks are not something that a kid would say. Hearing those things made Ray realize that he's not talking to an ordinary kid. The murderous eyes that Jade possesses stared at Ray.

"This is definitely not right, that eyes of his is too dangerous. He may end up losing his self if I allow him to do this thing."

Reading what's on Ray's mind, Jade suddenly spoke, "I know what you're thinking, disregard that thought. My decision is absolute, I don't care what will happen to me in the future."

"Kid, your life now should be focusing on studying, how can you say those cruel words without knowing the reality of the world?"

"The reality of the world huh, sure, I'm not accustomed to the real world but I know for a fact that our world is cruel. The fact that I see terrifying things on news every day tells me everything. I may want to kill that man but I will also destroy the cruelty in this world, even if I become a cruel person myself."

"This kid is brilliant, he's definitely matured despite his age." Ray silently evaluated the kid in front of him.

"You don't need to participate in this bloody path of mine, just train me until I'm ready enough to overturn the society."

Ray didn't speak for a few minutes after hearing the kid's words. He contemplated a lot of what should we do in this situation. Ray broke the silence with the question; "Do you think your mother would like you to take the bloody path you're talking about?"

Ray's decision on teaching the kid solely relies on the kid's response on this question.

"My mother will definitely be against it since she's a person with a clear heart but at the same time, I know that my mother is aware of how cruel the world is so she probably want to end it like myself so I'm gonna do what she can't do."

Hearing those words, Ray once again was mesmerized by how Jade thinks. Some may even say he's an adult who tackled the problem of the world.

Ray looked up and said in his mind, "Fiona, you'll definitely be angry at me this time. I'm planning to teach your son how to engage the society's cruelty and I know that's a fucked up thing to do as an adult. I'm gonna take away his childhood and he will live as a person who's hungry for blood. His ambition is too high, just how did you raise a brilliant kid like him? Sorry for entrusting my responsibility to your kid but I have this strange feeling that if it's Jade, he may actually overturn this world and do what I couldn't. Fiona, guide your son well. "I've decided, I will train you but remember one thing, you will experience a disastrous training in my hands. Do not regret your decision because you will never be able to go back even if you want to."

Jade smirks and loudly responded, "As if I'm gonna regret it!"

Ray trained Jade for eight years. In the early years, he developed a foundation for Jade's body first because that's the most important thing a fighter need to have. Jade faced hellish training like excessive amount of physical activities such as ; constantly running with weights all over his body, taking blow all over his bodies, pushups, lifting weights and other workouts that made his body go numb whenever they train but Jade already expected that in order to achieve his purpose, he must endure such things. Years eventually passed and Ray passed down his techniques to Jade. His martial arts, his weapon mastery, and things such as mentality in a fight were all passed down to Jade. Jade and Ray will always have a fight that couldn't even be called a sparring since a lot of bloods was spilled. It's only normal to have this kind of training if Jade plans to turn into a monster. However, no matter how harsh the training is, their bond as uncle and nephew grew to the point even if they're fighting in a life or death situation, they can still have fun. Both of them will gladly curse each other and compete with things as the symbol of their bonding.

For the past eight years of training, Ray discovered one thing, if Ray himself is a gifted fighter like how his position in the Crime Utility Squad suggests, Jade exceeds that, his potential is definitely unparalleled as per Ray's evaluation. Jade adapted all his lessons to the perfection. Jade would use Ray's techniques with a flawless and better version of the original. Based on his skills, Ray developed a nickname for Jade, "Invincible Monster."
