Extraordinary

"This is preposterous," Officer Zed thought, surveying the scene before him.

The unconscious student lay in the bathroom, both legs broken and bleeding from a deep cut. Zed cursed under his breath, realizing the severity of the situation.

"Damn it, he could die if we don't act fast," Zed muttered to himself.

Without hesitation, Zed lifted the injured student onto his back and rushed out of the bathroom.

"Someone's hurt! Where's the clinic?" Zed shouted, his voice echoing through the hallway.

Students turned and gasped, alarmed by the disturbing sight.

"Stay calm! We need to save this student's life," Zed urgently called out.

A student stepped forward, offering assistance. "Follow me! The clinic is this way," he exclaimed.

Zed recognized the student from earlier, his mind racing with suspicion.

"Thank you, kid. Let's hurry," Zed said, trying to hide his growing unease.

The university's vastness, despite its prestige, left Zed with a strange feeling.

"We've been running for ten minutes. It's taking too long. I must administer first aid before we reach the hospital. Does this student even know the way to the clinic?" Zed pondered anxiously.

After another five minutes of frantic searching, frustration crept into Zed's voice. "What the hell are you doing? This student is dying, and we still haven't found the clinic!" he snapped at the student guiding him.

To Zed's surprise, the student merely grinned in response.

Puzzled, Zed noticed something unusual about the student's clothes. Bloodstains adorned the uniform that didn't fit him properly. Could he not be a student after all?

His suspicions peaked, Zed reached for the knife in his pocket, only to find himself abruptly facing a fist hurtling towards his chin.

Whack!

Zed grunted as the blow landed, sending him reeling.

Confused and disoriented, Zed found himself in a dimly lit room, his surroundings permeated by the familiar stench of the abandoned factory.

"What is this place? Why can't I move?" panic gripped Zed as he realized he was bound.

Just as his anxiety reached its peak, the room flooded with light, and a chilling voice pierced the silence.

"Now you're finally awake," the figure said, a twisted smile playing on his lips.

Recognition struck Officer Zed like a bolt of lightning. "You deceived me, you bastard," he growled.

The student let out a devilish laugh, causing a shiver to run down Zed's spine.

"What kind of monster are you?" Zed exclaimed, his voice laced with fear and anger.

Zed's gaze fell upon another figure in the room—a student bound and helpless, like Mark's image when they found his body.

Rage surged within him, fueling his anger. "You fucker! So you're the one who killed Mark, and now you're about to kill another student?" Zed spat out the words, his voice seething with fury.

Helplessness washed over Zed as he realized he was tied up and unable to save the student.

The other figure cackled once more, reveling in the chaos.

"You're too loud. You might wake him up," the figure sneered.

"Pray that I don't escape because, if I do, I swear I'll kill you!" Zed yelled, his anger boiling over.

The laughter ceased as the figure slowly advanced toward Zed, stopping just a meter away.

"You? Kill me? Are you even capable of it?" Jade's chilling voice sent shivers down Zed's spine.

Zed stared into Jade's cold, unsettling eyes, realizing the truth in the young man's words.

"You couldn't even dodge my fist earlier. What makes you think you can kill me? Dream on. I won't even challenge the world if some police officer who can't solve a single case can kill me," Jade declared, his chilling tone unwavering.

Zed's mind raced, acknowledging the truth in Jade's words.

"But now isn't the time to be afraid. I must save the student. I won't give this criminal a chance to claim another victim," Zed thought, determination flaring within him.

"Oh?" Jade smirked, amused by the unyielding determination in Zed's eyes.

"You seem to despise injustice, don't you?" Jade remarked.

"Of course. I hate people like you, who inflict pain and injustice," Zed retorted.

Jade's smile widened, relishing the verbal sparring. "You're quite entertaining, Officer. Let's have a little chat before the main event of this story," Jade suggested, a sinister gleam in his eyes.

"Chat? Are you enjoying this, you fucking psycho?" Zed shouted, his anger boiling over.

"Sshhh," Jade hushed him, his finger pressed against Zed's mouth.

"I know what you're doing, trying to attract attention in the hope that someone will hear. But it's already midnight, and there's no one around. And even if there were, I could easily dispose of them," Jade threatened, his voice dripping with malice.

Panic set in as Zed realized the direness of his situation. "This is too dangerous. This bastard is extraordinary. I might not make it out alive," he thought, his mind racing for a solution.

While Zed struggled with his fears and dwindling options, Jade's mind was consumed by thoughts of his impending act of violence.

"I can actually kill them. I never thought I would be able to say those words so easily," Jade contemplated, his resolve solidifying.

"This is my first time taking someone's life. Uncle Ray taught me how to kill, but executing it is an entirely different challenge. I've spent every day planning to kill that man, but I didn't truly understand how until now. After today, there's no turning back. I will become a merciless being, devoid of any trace of mercy," Jade resolved.

With these thoughts in mind, Jade turned his attention back to Officer Zed.

"Now, I have some more questions for you," Jade calmly stated.

Zed remained silent, his mind racing as he analyzed his surroundings, desperately searching for anything that might help him escape this deadly encounter.

"You don't have much time to worry about him, Officer. Tell me, why are you so desperate to save that guy?" Jade asked, curiosity lacing his word.

"Shit!" Zed innerly curses as he didn't find a single thing that will help him break free.

"Why you say? It looks like you're an emotionless monster if you think there's a reason I'm desperate to save a college student. That kid literally has many things waiting to him like his future career, and friends he will acquire as he live in our society."

"Is that so?"

"I must distract him, do I ask questions about him first?" Zed innerly strategized on his mind.

"It's my turn to ask now"

"Sure" Jade responded with a smirk on his face.

"How old are you? Now that I take a look at you, you seem young, I think you're even in the same age with your victim." Zed asked while still trying to analyze his surroundings.

"As expected of an officer, you sure know your thing. I'm twenty years old." Jade responded.

"Twenty? You're a fucking monster. You're the same age as that kid, yet you do these things?" Zed exclaimed, disbelief coloring his words.

Jade suddenly lunged forward, gripping Zed's throat tightly, cutting off his words.

Zed gasped for breath, realizing the extraordinary strength Jade possessed.

"What makes him better than me?" Jade asked, his voice cold and detached.

Zed struggled to speak, his throat constricted under Jade's grip.

"Your mindset is too narrow officer. What makes him any better than me? Because he studies at university? Or because he's the grandson of the dean in their institution?" Jade asked with a chilling tone.

"What? That kid is the grandson of the dean?" Zed innerly said because he can't say anything as Jade is tightening his grip on his throat.

Jade's eyes bore into Zed's, his grip tightening. "Do you really believe that saving him will bring justice?" Jade questioned, his voice filled with disdain.

Confusion and realization flickered in Zed's eyes.

"What are you implying?" Zed asked, his voice barely a whisper.

Jade released his grip, allowing Zed to catch his breath.

"Open your eyes, Officer. You claim to despise people like me, who inflict pain and injustice. But what about him? What about the pain he caused to others?" Jade's voice dripped with scorn.

Zed's mind raced, grappling with the weight of Jade's words.

"Did you know that you're a hypocrite?" Jade's voice resonated with a mix of anger and derision.

Zed's confusion deepened. "What do you mean?"

Jade stared at Zed, a mix of anger and sadness in his eyes.

"You said you hate people like me, yet you're desperate to save a student who has inflicted unimaginable pain on others. You're willing to fight for his future, his friends, and his career, but what about justice for those he hurt?" Jade's voice held a bitter undertone.

Zed's mind spun with conflicting emotions, torn between his duty as an officer and the revelation that he might have overlooked an important aspect of justice.

Jade's voice cut through the silence, his words laced with anger.

"Do your job right! Are you truly desperate to save a student who caused immeasurable suffering?"

A sense of guilt washed over Zed as he contemplated Jade's words.

The room fell into an uneasy silence as Zed grappled with his conflicting feelings, his gaze meeting Jade's piercing stare.

The confrontation between the two continued, their fates intertwined in this twisted game of justice and vengeance.
