Peter sat in his apartment for a while after receiving an horrifying image of his sister.

He kept thinking who on earth would do this to him.

Peter couldn't help but ponder for a while when a sudden phone call caught his attention.

"Hello?"

"Hi Peter, this is Raze. We called because of what you sent to us. Based on our analysis, the image is confirmed to be fake."

"Are you sure?" Peter asked.

"Yes, we confirmed it after thoroughly investigation. It's not an image when your sister was still alive, it's purely edited."

"By the way, are you okay? Seeing this must have shocked you".

Officer Raze worriedly asked.

"How can I possibly be okay in a situation like this?" Peter said, showing his bad mood.

"Sorry, it's probably hard for you to talk right now," Raze apologized.

"Don't worry, we're going there tomorrow to try and secure the CCTV footage. So, any idea about who did this?" Raze asked.

"Not a single clue at all, but if it's actually that killer, he must have seen me in this city then decided to scare me."

"Whoever it is, I'll hunt them and make them pay for mocking me and my dead sister."

Officer Raze actually felt Peter's anger even when they're just talking from their phone.

"Don't worry, you have us. We'll help you so don't try and act alone until we have better information so just rest for now," Officer Raze said with a reassuring tone.

"Got it, Officer Raze."

After disconnecting the call, Peter then returned to wonder who have the audacity to do this to him.

"I'm sure of one thing, this person is trying to make me come into him but for what reason?"

Peter couldn't help but think about the mysterious person's motive.

After a few minutes, Peter suddenly got a phone call again.

"Huh?"

"Unknown number? I thought it's going to be the detectives again."

After a bit of contemplating, Peter didn't answer the call. He simply didn't have an energy to talk to a stranger given his situation.

However, the unknown person messaged him after Peter rejected the call.

As soon as Peter saw the message, he immediately stood up with rage all over his expression.

The message says, "How is the gift I sent to you earlier? I'm sure you liked it. I actually prepared another gift for you so I want you to come pick it up yourself. The location is the rooftop of the place you're currently staying at 8pm. You must be curious about my identity and why I'm doing this so you must show yourself. Remember, you should be alone since you're alone in this world anymore. Your sister left you after all. I'll see you soon, Little Monster."

A loud sound rang inside Peter's apartment after he punched the wall because of his anger. As soon as Peter read the message, he knew that the mysterious person is messing with him.

"This bastard is really trying his best to make me kill him. Just wait, I'll get you soon enough. I won't let you play with me as much as you want."

The day after, Officer Raze and Zed went to Peter's place at 12 noon.

Peter remarked to the officers, "Hello, you can go inside now."

Officer Zed and Raze observed Peter's appearance as soon as they entered his place. They could tell by looking at his face that he didn't get enough sleep.

"It really takes a toll on him, well it would be weird if it doesn't," Zed was thinking internally.

"So, what's the plan officers?" Peter abruptly said to indicate that he don't want to waste time.

The officers noticed so they went with Peter's flow.

"Based on what we have right now, we can't identify the masked person. The CCTV couldn't catch his face properly because of his mask."

"We also traced the number who called you yesterday, but it was a burner phone," The officer said to assess what they currently have.

Peter immediately frowns as he hear this.

Raze noticed then suddenly speak out, "The CCTV around the area didn't catch a single glimpse of him so it could mean something."

"What do you mean?" Peter asked.

"It means the suspect knew where are the CCTV's. So that person is familiar here seeing how he managed to avoid everything." Officer Raze said.

"Raze is basically saying that the suspect could be someone who lives here. That individual also picked this building's rooftop so it's supicious," Zed immediately added.

Peter was appalled at the possibility that the suspect might be a closer than he think. He's considering the possibility that he may have met this man without realizing it.

Officer Zed noticed this so he immediately asked Peter, "So? Have you seen anyone around this area who fits the suspect's appearance? Of course this is not entirely accurate but trying something is better than waiting for the answer.

Hearing this, Peter collected his thoughts and tried to examine all people he encountered. The mysterious person is a tall person and with a well-built body based on Peter's perspective.

"Well, anyone I've encountered is definitely suspicious because this is Mechiv City, except one person," Peter seriously said.

As soon as the officers hears this, they both said, "Who's that?"

"After examining that enigmatic person's appearance, I recognized one person: a tall, handsome young man who shares the same well-defined physique as the masked individual. He also seemed strangely delighted to be around me, which is something I didn't notice at the time, but now that I think about it, that's a strange quality for someone who lives here to have."

"Well, it could've been natural trait but let's still try and investigate that person," Officer Raze suggested.

"A young man with tall and strong physique huh? It feels oddly familiar. That bastard, just wait until I get you. I'll take care of this first while I try to find more about you," Officer Zed said in his thoughts.

"We shouldn't waste any more time, let's go to that person's room," Zed hurriedly said.

"He lives from 16B, few rooms away from me," Peter responded.

"All right, here is the plan. We need to get the guy before the actual time of the meetup. It's the best route in order to be safe because who knows what that person planned. So if this guy from 16B is the guy, we'll detain him immediately," Zed remarked, displaying his professional thinking.

"Peter, go there naturally. Act like you're grateful to him because of the welcoming gift he gave to you before. Do your best to go inside his place as much as possible," Raze commanded.

"Here's the microphone, hide it inside your clothes so we can hear what's happening. Just say 'one' as a signal for us to forcefully go inside once you find something suspicious," Zed said.

"Got it, you can count on me," Peter responded.

They then proceeded to their plan. Peter is now one step away from the front door of Room 16B while the officer is hiding to assess the situation.

"I'm going to proceed now," Peter whispered to the microphone to transmit his message.

Knock! Knock!

Peter is now prepared to act naturally as possible as he waits for someone to open the door.

The door made a sound as it opened just now. Peter was surprised to see an unexpected figure open the door for him.

"Hey, good to see you here," The familiar figure said to Peter with delightful expression.
