In Monika's house, Monika is preparing a day out with Trazyn, it is rare to find a day where no one is around but themselves. Monika changed into a more relaxed outfit and put on a bright smile; it's been a while they've been on a date. When Monika leaves her room, she grabs a bottle of water, but when she's in the living room she sees a white-haired girl standing there.
"Oh, hey honey, you look great today." the girl talked.
Monika squeezed the bottle too hard, making the water spill everywhere: "Traz?" Her voice is shaking,
"Do you like how I look?" Trazyn winks cutely.
"What the-..." Monika puts her hand at Trazyn's chest and squeezed with force: "Wait… this is real..."
"Honey… can you please stop doing this... It feels weird." Trazyn backed off a little.
"What the hell is this? Did you make a female body?" Monika still can't believe what she's seeing, yet a small unnoticeable smirk came out from the edge of her mouth.
"Indeed. What do you think? I figured if I could leap between bodies, I might as well just make a female body for the sake of emergency." Trazyn turns a bit: "This feels different, my body is lighter so it's better for movement, but also my muscle mass is decreased, but if I add some powered parts, then it should fix that."
Monika is still covering her mouth with a hand, she touches Trazyn's hair and looks at him in the eye: " Traz, close your eyes." Monika gives a deep kiss to Trazyn: "Hmm, I guess I am not really into women then. I just wanted to confirm something."
"But this is still me… so should I be worried?" Trazyn asks.
"I mean I don't really feel weird kissing you, so I guess it's fine. I guess you are the first and only women I've kissed so far." Monika is still impressed by what Trazyn did, this body looks just like a human one and it is unbelievably beautiful: "You know what, keep this body for the day, I'll take you a tour of a girl's world~"
"Why do I feel weird about this… don't you want a date? Let's go on a date with my normal body."
"I changed my mind~" Monika hugs Trazyn from the back and puts her hand on his chest: " Besides, I know a lot of ways to make you feel better."
"That sounds really perverted, if I say that to any of my necron colleagues they will immediately report me to the council." Trazyn is concerned about his safety.
" Let's start with a name.. Hmmm. Tresa? Trazarnia? Maybe Tristine? " Monika ignores what Trazyn was saying.
"Trazyn will do fine. Honey, I am not a toy, if you want one you can just buy it in the mall."
"That's where we are going~ I am going to make you the prettiest girl in the world." Monika couldn't be happier.
"But you're the prettiest girl in the world." Trazyn wanted to get out of this situation.
"Aww... that's so cheesy, but we are leaving." Monika drags Trazyn out of the house before he could protest more.
Minka returns home after seeing Trazyn and Monika leave, she doesn't look like her usual self, she goes into the toilet and looks at herself in the mirror, soon she takes off her upper clothes and activates the chest contraption. The part above her heart is open, a miracle of machine and flesh, yet it is being corrupted by both the influence of time stream and the phyrexian corruption. Every world has its own set of rules, and even Minka's original world is very similar to this world. It is still different. The atomic particle differences sometimes react with each other causing Minka's physical body to change. Due to the half-machine nature of Minka's body, the process is drastically reduced. Yet, the phyrexian invasion changed this part. The glastering oil is changing the world in an irreversible way, just like it did to Mirrodin. Machines are being corrupted, this includes the part that belongs to Minka.
Both properties are wearing Minka's body off, she puts her hand inside the chest and takes out later her hand is full of black blood. Her expression is calm, but a feeling of sickness suddenly came up and she threw up in the sink. The situation is worse than Minka thinks, there's no way to reverse this process. Minka is dying. But before she dies, she's going to save the world. The triggering point for her to realize this was the fight with Ria. While fighting she suddenly felt dizzy but before she fell into a coma she managed to restore the memory of Ria and fly out of the pit. Ria just went and killed the person who has done this to her.
She could go to Trazyn to seek a solution, but she decides not to, not because she doesn't trust Trazyn, it's just that she's almost done with almost everything she wanted to do before time travel. The only thing she's worried about is the fact that it would make her family sad. She thought about this moment but never realized it was this fast. She thought maybe she could even see herself as a child and eventually grow up with her. It's more like a silly dream, even if that day comes, she will leave Trazyn and Monika to travel across the galaxy. There's still a lot she wanted to see… Thinking about this part, Minka suddenly had a few tears drop from her eyes. This is also about her dignity as a fighter, she doesn't want to be seen as weak, if she ever is going to die is not on the death bed but a glorious fight that can be remembered by everyone, just like Nova.
She then goes to the dining room and takes out a piece of paper. She wants to write something but every time she moves her pen her hand doesn't even respond to her. She burst into tears. When facing the inevitable death, even a person like Minka couldn't help but be scared, for her there's not going to be an afterlife or anything like that. The price she had to pay to gain the half-machine body was her soul.
In the end, Minka left, she left because she doesn't want to face her death with the people, she loves the most. It would be too painful for her; she takes out every weapon she has and heads straight towards the palace of Glissa. If she's going to die, then might as well die as a hero that would make her parents proud.
When Monika and Trazyn arrived home, they found a letter from Minka. The moment they finished reading it, they directly rushed towards where Minka went, the palace of Glissa. They know where Minka went because after spending so long with her, they can already know what she means from the words. Even they don't have enough preparation to face probably the most powerful being on this planet. Trazyn tried to use the teleport, but Minka deployed a disruption field that would not make him teleport directly to her. Instead, Trazyn called for the night scythe aircraft he had stored a long time ago, he never used it because it would draw too much attention to the human world but now, he couldn't care less.
Minka's letter
Dear Mom, Dad
When you are reading this letter, I was already gone. You probably will be mad or sad, but please hear me out.
From the timeline where I came from, the world is different, no force of another realm trying to conquer the planet, instead, it was us who developed the dimensional travel machine and conquered the universe that no other race was ever capable of. My family was never complete due to either work or just emotional struggles. Mainly because at an early age I found out that dad is actually a hero of the imperium. This eventually made me become one of them. Yet even I took a place among the heroes, I was never happy, trying to pursue a path that will lead to nowhere, this is where I discovered the time leap machine from my father's old work. A device that was developed based on mass leaping technology that allows one to travel to a parallel universe without concerning either time or place. It was genius, if I shared the technology with the imperium, it would only be a matter of time before the imperium conquered every reality possible. But I left because I do not wish to see worlds burn to the ground because of my action. Instead, I came to your reality, where my parents cherished each other, there's no game of politics or trade of interest. Just pure emotion of companionship.
The days spent with you guys were the best time of my life. The moment I stepped into the time machine was a countdown for my life, it was my choice and no one else's. You guys taught me to be a person who chooses her destiny and that's exactly what I did. I am really… really… really… thankful to have you two as my parents. I never hated any of you for a millisecond. I have already achieved all of my goals, so would you please, when you finish reading the letter, put a small line over the last part of the list? I hate to end it here, but I still have to say: Thank you very much for being my parents. I will be seeing you guys in the future.
Forever yours
Minka Terra/Infinite
PS: Mom, please don't eat too much rose cake, they are seriously not that good. Try pairing it with coffee in the future, at least this is the only way I can actually ingest it.

Make mom and dad proud
"That idiot…" Trazyn's tone is seemingly mad.
"Traz… we will find her." Monika looks down, she seems Trazyn's hand is for some reason… shaking. She holds his hand and looks at him in a very concerned way, she has never seen Trazyn being this tense before. She's in thought, in the restored memory there's something she never wanted to talk about, but now maybe it is time.
"Hey, Traz…" Monika was about to talk but the craft stopped, and they are at their destination.
"Alright, let's go." Trazyn didn't really hear what Monika was trying to say. He's too focused. Seeing this Monika didn't want to burden Trazyn with more things. She wanted to tell him after their date but suddenly the whole Minka incident happened.
"Minka should be breaching the second line of defense now." Trazyn knows about Minka's ability, also he has decent knowledge of palace defense. He wanted to breach the place a while ago but now he has to set the whole thing in motion at this very moment.
They run past the broken outer building; the destruction looks like it's been done by a whole army. But in fact, it was just Minka. There were bodies everywhere inside the palace, no matter what their race or age, Minka killed them all.
Monika clenched her fist; she needs to stop Minka. This is going too far. A strong earth shock tramples the palace, it is no doubt done by Minka. They kept running until they reached an open field, there were hot ashes everywhere. Trazyn can tell an intense battle has happened here, but the genetic scan didn't find Minka. It means she kept walking forward and seemingly was unharmed.
"That idiot... why is she trying to solve everything alone?" Trazyn is rushing forward as fast as he could.
"..." Monika understands that too well because she's exactly like this, she doesn't want to see the people she cares about getting hurt.
"All she has to do is ask and we will definitely be going to find a solution... I sometimes hate humans because of this... All they care about is their entitled self-proclaimed bull crap. At the end of the day, it won't help anyone." The more Trazyn thinks about this, the angrier he became.
"We have to stop her before she encounters Glissa." Monika said while constantly trying to calm Trazyn down.
"Of course, but why Glissa ?"
"Some of the memories came back when Minka unsealed them, and I found out that there's more to it..."
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
"What are you talking about?"
"Glissa wanted to disrupt the very foundation of this reality, she-" An explosion occurred not far away, the shock wave pushed Monika off the ground, but Trazyn managed to grab her before she flew off.
Two shadows appeared out from the smoke, it was Glissa and on her hand, it's Minka being lifted off the ground: " I guess you two are also responsible for all of this?" Apparently Minka and Glissa were in a fight and the result is clear to see.
"Put her down, Glissa." Trazyn's tone is horrifying, the air around him thickens.
"Trazyn? you seem different these days. Just a question, did you happen to see Lanaya at some point?"
"We killed her." Trazyn pulls out his staff, his outer appearance is shifting, at the end, he became his Necron form.
"I see… Well, I guess we will trade life for life then…" Glissa pulls out a sword from the void and strikes Minka, but Minka suddenly pulls out a small flask, in it is a small fragment of the remnant, the antimatter being that's scattered across the planet. But Glissa just put her hand in the flask and disintegrated the remnant: "You think you can do that trick again?" Glissa drops Minka on the ground and kicks her on the stomach.
Trazyn at this very moment unleashed the solar array, blinding green light showers on top of the battlefield, it does not harm the people in there, but it is strong enough to make the enemy not be able to see or react to things. Or at least this is how it should be, the sun rays bend for some reason and eventually being sucked away.
"Trazyn, even living for more than millions of years, you have yet seen the real power. A power that can change the universe for the greater good." A green light spear appeared on Glissa's hand, it was fused by the power that was unleashed by Trazyn: "With this very spear that is forged with your aggression and ignorance, I declare your death upon this mortal plane." She unleashes the energy spear at Trazyn with unimaginable speed, the rocks behind Trazyn have turned into ash, and the spear stopped as it pierced through his core.
One attack, it's all it takes. The last time Trazyn was facing Glissa she dropped a mountain upon him, this time she has gone for the kill. All of his systems are experiencing critical failure as the heat of the spear is burning through his metallic body. He tries to leap his consciousness out of the body, but an invisible force pulls him back into this body constantly.
Monika is waiting for her necklace to light up, as it will show that Trazyn has successfully leaped out of his consciousness but sees nothing has happened. She puts on her power gloves and tries to pull the spear out from Trazyn but her hand has been burned due to the heat. If this thing continues all of them are going to be dead, there's no way they can fight Glissa even though they are one of the strongest beings on this planet, but Glissa is on another level.
Monika looks at Trazyn in a distressing way. Trazyn wanted to say something because he could tell what was going to happen, but his voice module is already broken. She kisses Trazyn on the metallic face, the same way she did in the bar a long time ago. She then walks towards Glissa: " Let them go and I will agree to the terms."
"Isn't this surprising? So, you finally came to your senses." Glissa walks in front of Monika and looks straight into her eyes.
Monika gulps: " Yes... I will become the vessel if you let them go. You have my words."
"I need more than words; I need a pact." Purple light shines from Glissa's palm: "Will you become my servant until the end of your current material life and the life beyond?"
"Monika… don't do that..." Trazyn channeled all of the nanobots to fix his voice.
Tears drip out from Monika's eyes, but she tries her best to make a smiling face: " Traz…. Take care of yourself and Minka… I love you..." Monika touches the purple light, power courses through her body, and at the end make a seal on her chest. They then disappeared via a portal.
When they are gone, the lightning spear disappears and Trazyn finally is able to move again. If he could, he would cry out and scream until his lung gave out. He grabs Minka and gets on the night scythe. He transforms back to his human form and smashes the control panel of the plane. It was all voiceless, it was pure anger and regret.
"This is all my fault…" Minka is in shock, she hugs her knees and blankly stares outside: "Why did I have to be so selfish…" the sadness is so overwhelming that she can't even cry out anymore: " Dad… i am so sorry…"
Trazyn isn't even activating the aircraft, there's too many things in his head. All the moments he had with Monika and the time spent with each other. This must be how Monika felt when he was banished. But the intense cough from Minka pulled him from reality. Monika isn't dead, but if he doesn't help Minka soon then she will surely be dead: "Minka… I will make you a new body, your consciousness will be transferred but it will not be as good as the one you currently have."
"I don't deserve this… I really don't…" Minka is being a child again.
"Monika believed that we could save her, this is why she went with that she-devil." Trazyn refers to Glissa. But he did recover from that incident rather quickly. He transformed all of those rages into action, when he meets Glissa again, he will make her into shoes. Trazyn glanced at Minka, he realized that Monika was trying to tell him about this, but he was too distracted to even listen to her. Thinking about this, he sunk into silence and held Minka's hand. If Minka is the reason Monika was held by Glissa, then Trazyn is the person who has failed to prevent it before all of this from happening.
When they got home, it didn't take a while for Minka to be transferred into a new body. She lies on the bed. The pillow still has Monika's scent, Minka couldn't help but have tears coming out from her eyes again. Trazyn sits beside Minka, he doesn't really know what to say, he has a lot in his mind as well.
Suddenly, Nova leans on the door. She's looking at them in an unprecedented way that is a mix of anger, grief, and of course concern. She can tell what has happened just by looking at their expression. Seeing this, Trazyn walks up and tries to explain himself. But Nova just gave him a full wide slap on the face.
"I don't need you to apologize, I need you to focus and bring my sister back." Nova's tone is harsh yet she's soft with words.
"You are not mad at me anymore?" Trazyn rubs the cheek, Nova's slap really hurts for some reason.
Nova replied with a stare full of aggression, Trazyn immediately knows what it meant: " Let's start with what Monika told me on the plane... She said that Glissa is focusing on disrupting the foundations of reality."
"Time? Space? Gravity?" Minka replies.
"I doubt it's about something theological, from the way she said it as if it is something real..." Nova adds: " I think we are looking for something like a being or an artifact. Anyways, I'll go ask some people for these clues, why don't you two tidy up and rest a little." Nova gives a grin of comfort; her actions are so hard to understand sometimes.
Nova steps out of the house and leans on the door; this is the moment where her true feeling shows. She sits in a corner and weeps. If Monika has made a dark pact with Glissa, it literally means that Monika is either going to die or something worse.
Someone steps in front of Nova and calls her name. She knows this voice but is not sure from where: " Long time no see, Ms. Terra." Wednesday leans down.
"You…" Nova would kill anyone who has seen her cry but she's not sure if she can even remotely harm Wednesday: " Why are you here?"
"I've heard you have encountered a little struggle." Wednesday smiles but Nova knows he's scheming for something.
"No thanks, I'm not interested in your service, besides, if i need help it would definitely not from you."
"I know about what happened to your dear sister."
Nova continues walking away, she doesn't want to have anything to do with this man.
"You might die for this."
Nova paused her movement for a second but then eventually walked away, she died once, and it was something that she never wanted to re-experience again. But a deal with this old man could mean something worse than death. She's heading to where Leonard is, if there's one person on this planet who knows about what happened to Monika, he has to be the person.
"I have no idea." Leonard is having his signature smug, he pats Nova's shoulder: "I'll try to look for Monika as well, but I doubt if there's going to be any progress."
"Why is that?"
"I am sorry, but I'll have a meeting soon, I'll see you later~" Leonard left, Nova is mad. But not to an extent that she will purposely defy the supreme command. But this isn't going to stop Nova. She snuck into the intelligence center and started browsing the radiation scan of where Monika disappeared. And surprisingly she found a match, but the exact location is still unclear. Nova didn't have enough time to finish the scan, she recorded the radioactive signature and its particle-wave and left the facility. Cecilia saw everything, instead of calling for security, she secretly wiped the related data on the security cam.
"Strange..." Trazyn is analyzing the data that was given by Nova: " This signature seems to be jumping around a lot for some reason."
"Might be caused by a portal." Minka points on the monitor with a pen: "I've seen signatures like this before, but this was done by cross reality travel. In another word, a reality rift. Something must have been teleporting mom along the way, but it is not Glissa."
" Wait a minute, if I can replicate this energy wave, then I might be able to rift something from our universe. Since this world is between dimensions, this might allow us to get something out of it." Trazyn suddenly stands up, he knows exactly what to get.
Nova and Minka just look at Tazyn who seemingly looks excited about something: "Ehh… dad? What are you going to transfer?"
Trazyn connected some scrap devices together and eventually finished it. After a few seconds, the machine lit up like a Christmas tree and a voice came out: " Sannet of the infinite empire, ready to serve."
"Sannet! My loyal assistance. Welcome!" Trazyn never sounded so happy before.
"Lord Trazyn? Why am I in this human-machine?"
"Give me a second." Trazyn activates the machine again and the next room lit up, Trazyn's female backup body is now occupied by Sannet.
"Lord Trazyn… why am I in this android form?... don't you have a Necron body for me?"
"Dear Sannet, you are asking way too many questions. Now, let me introduce you to the people you need to take care of." Trazyn grabs Sannet in front of Minka and Nova: " These two are the number one priority and also Monika but you've already known who that is."
"As you wish sire."
"Stop calling me any of that. Trazyn would be good." He grabs Sannet by the shoulder: " It's been good to have you on my side again."
"Dad...? Who exactly is this guy?"
Trazyn looks at Sannet, he wants her to explain to Minka herself: " Greetings, my name is Sannet of the tomorrow, I have been serving Lo- I mean Trazyn for millennials, my main purpose is security, clerk work, cleaning and organizing the gallery."
"So, you are a maid." Nova looks at these two in a strange way.
"In human terms, yes. But I prefer to be called an advisor, as it is more fitting for my status. However, I am now your servant, you can just call me Sannet." She nods politely, compared to Trazyn, Sannet gave a way better first impression to Nova.
"Dad, did you get Sannet here so you can just slack off?" Minka narrows her eyes in a suspicious way.
"Ehhhh, you know what? Why don't you two help Sannet to get along in the human world while I figure out a way to lock Monika's signature once it reappears again." Trazyn laughs in awkwardness and off to the basement.
"I never expected Lord Trazyn would get along with humans this good."
"I am his daughter, so yea, naturally he gets along well." Minka doesn't really like Sannet, it's not about whether she's a Necron or not, she felt jealous that Trazyn immediately found another girl right after Monika was gone.
"My apologies for my lack of respect, I shall now address you as Lady Minka." She bows.
Minka can't even get mad at Sannet because she can't find a single spot that she can get mad at her: "Yea, I was about to say that. Now, why don't you start making us some nice lunch, we are starving." Minka acts as if she's been living in a wealthy family for her whole life.
Sannet nods and she's off to the kitchen, Nova shakes her head: " Why are you doing this to her? Are you jealous that Sannet is better than you?" Nova immediately points out the truth.
"I… I never saw dad talk to me or mom like how he talks to Sannet."
" They've probably known each other for millions of years, why don't you just accept her as a servant? That's what she wanted, isn't it? Also, having a person who can support us at the backline would be good for the upcoming battle." Nova winks, she kinda likes Minka when she's frustrated, like how Nova always loved to mess with Monika back in the days. Thinking about this Nova had an unnoticeable smile on her face.
At night in the basement, Trazyn is trying to improve some parts for his weapons, Sannet stays by his side: " Sire, may I make an observation."
"Shoot."
"You seemed rattled, is it because of the missing human girl?"
Trazyn drops the work he's working on, he's not mad, but he is just a bit ashamed of being pointed out this easily: " Yes. Are you familiar with the technology that rifted your consciousness to this world?"
"Yes, from the record this technology has been used by the old ones. But this rift seems more ancient, I can try to reverse engineer it so next time when a rift happens it will also pull my marked target as well. Since it is a 'rift', the physical world isn't a limit, so we can just set it up in the basement. "
"It's good to have you here Sannet, next time when there's a war in heaven theater. I'll bring you with me." Trazyn smiles warmly.
"Thank you sire, last time we did this it was the best fifty years I've ever had."
Trazyn then continues working on the weapon while Sannet works on the rift capturing system. They worked until dawn, and Sannet stopped her work because she heard Minka yawning from upstairs: " Lady Minka, may I assist you in putting your accessories?" Sannet bows.
"No, but I want you to cook me a nice breakfast and it needs to be done before I step down from the stairs." Minka still doesn't like Sannet.
Sannet nods and teleports away. Minka pouts in annoyance, she just can't understand why she dislikes Sannet so much. She has no problem with Trazyn but tons of problems with Sannet. She just can't get her head around it.
Minka steps down and sees Sannet already waiting: " Good morning, based on your preference I've prepared some food, please tell me if you dislike any of it." On the table is a full course meal. But it's all that Minka likes to eat.
"How…" Minka is at a loss for words. She wanted to embarrass Sannet but instead, it was her who looked bad in this scenario.
"Please enjoy your food!" Sannet bows again and goes to the basement to continue helping Trazyn.
Nova soon came down as well: "Oh my, this is some heavy food for the morning, but I don't mind." Nova starts digging in, it's been days since the last time she had a decent meal. She noticed some weird expression from Minka: "What happened? Oh… did Sannet make all of this and make you feel insecure about yourself?"
"Aunt Nova!" Minka is flustered.
Nova can't get tired of teasing Minka: " Alright, alright. But have you ever thought about maybe giving him a bit of time to reunite with his old friend? I think she's the closest person to him." Nova with the high emotion quadrant analysis: "Besides… this gives me plenty of time to tease you~"
"So mean!" Minka pouts. Trazyn finally came up and took a seat: " Wow, these are some really well-made foods. I did not expect Sannet to make these things for you two."
"Where is Sannet?" Nova asks.
"She's working on a quantum rift capturer." Trazyn decided to name that machine: " Basically, it allows us to hijack the rift next time when it's been used. That machine probably is the best bet for us to find Monika."
"You seem surprisingly calm." Nova narrows her eyes a bit.
"Calm? I am furious." Yet his expression didn't change: " I haven't been this mad at someone for millennia."
"Dad… I am sorry… I should've been stronger..." Minka lowers her head.
"No... Minka, I was not mad at you. I was mad that I didn't do enough, I was mad that I underestimated Glissa, I was mad that I let Monika come with me and I was mad that I didn't even have time for Monika when she needed me. Everything that has happened at this point was because of me." Trazyn smashes the table, the table didn't break but it did make a crack noise.
The room was silent, Trazyn's angry tone is still a bit scary, maybe everyone was just used to his calm demeanor. Sannet spoke out, she's just finished with the preparation phase: "Lord Trazyn, you are a wise and kind ruler, it was not your fault but the one who calls herself the traitor. I shall aid you in your following conquest and seek vengeance towards everyone that ever defies the mighty infinite empire. "
"So do I," Minka said.
"So do I, but not the conquest part." Nova sips the coffee.
