Chapter 20

Rather interesting specimens, time-traveling devices are finally operational. I have to say, Minka really outdone herself when it comes to simplifying things. She can be a genius even by the Necron standards. Now I just need to find a stable power source to make it portable. I need to find a way to resolve this issue. Nova will not die in vain.

Ha, I finally understand all of this…. I thought this is my own hellish creation but this…. This is the ultimate way for my end goals…. It all makes sense now…ha… ha… Ha...Ha….

As Minka went through some of the logs, she couldn't be more confused. All of this was chosen in random order and yet it shows a somewhat strange linear relationship between each time and location seemed to be incomplete. She pulls her hair with her hands because she's confused and stressed. A small thing Minka does whenever she feels those negative emotions.

Minka kept going through the logs. The more she reads the more she's confused. She can't believe Trazyn actually traveled this much. And all of them seemed like he's trying something. "This is going nowhere." She said to herself: "Screw this, I am talking to him." Minka put away the time machine and started walking to Trazyn's classroom.

But Noel suddenly stopped her around the corner: "What were you doing in the toilet for so long?" Even though Noel and Minka are at the same height, Minka still feels like Noel is looking at her as if Noel is a head taller than Minka.

"I had a number two going." Minka pretends she's shy about talking about this: "The volume was..."

"Alright, stop it. I don't want to hear about this. I just want you to know that you better watch every step you take in this school." Noel's voice is intimidating.

Minka knows about the little political struggle within this school. Every new student has this type of treatment unless the higher-up members in the student console know about them. It also happened to Minka when she first got in. Minka just replied with a simple nod to Noel and is on her way to find Trazyn.

"Lynine, I want to propose something." Trazyn is looking at the list of clubs: "Maybe we should create an antique and history club. What do you think?"

"Why do you ask me about it?" Lynine never joined any club before, it is pretty hard when you are disliked by almost everyone in the school: "I know about the procedure of how to create a club, but I've never actually done that."

"I want you to be my secretary." Trazyn gave her a charming smile.

Lynine blinks blankly: "Secretary? I thought you were going to make me a vice president or something."

"You want to be a vice president?"

"No, no, no. I was going to decline you and proposed to be a secretary…" Lynine is a bit surprised about the offer of Trazyn: "But I would be glad to."

"So. My charming secretary. Where can we register for the club?" Trazyn asks.

"We need to pay a visit to the student console, but the problem is there are only two of us and we need at least three members to be able to register for an official club." Lynine reads the school rule out of her phone.

"That's easy, we just need to find my dear dau-. I mean dear girlfriend." Trazyn's head isn't really clear as well for some strange reason.

"Oh, yea. Are you sure she would be interested in… Antique and history?" Lynine couldn't hide what she thought about the club.

Speaking of which, Minka opens the door violently and fixes her eyes on Trazyn the moment she steps into the room. Trazyn couldn't tell what happened to Minka, but he still asks the question: "Minka, meet Lynine. We are opening a club together; would you be interested in this."

Minka knows Lynine. In fact, she was her mentor in various subjects. But she doubts that Trazyn knows about this because this happened in the future: "A club? What's the club about?"

"Antique and history."

"Pass." She then grabs Trazyn by the wrist: "Come, we need to talk about our relationship problem."

Trazyn didn't budge: "I will come only if you agree with this."

Minka changed her tone from nice and soft to a certain degree of harsh: "Or I will join only if you come with me."

Trazyn noticed this little change: "Fine." He winks at Lynine: "Be right back."

Minka drags Trazyn into a dark corner and pushes him on the wall: "Now, tell me why you traveled five thousand times with the time machine?"

"What are you talking about…" Trazyn sounded a bit faint.

"Don't give me that crap Trazyn!" Minka is done role-playing. Even it's something she enjoys.

"How much do you know already?" Trazyn leans back at the wall. His expression, however, looked more... Relaxed.

"I've read a few hundred logs in random order. It took me like ten minutes. Noel is already suspicious of my actions. So, you better tell me about your plan." Minka is rarely angry or anything like this.

"Well…. First, I have to be honest with you. I am not going back. By back, I mean the timeline where we came from, and no, before you even ask, I am not going to save Monika or Nova or anyone else. I am done." The smugness on his face is distant.

Minka's fist is making some cracking sound. She grabs Trazyn by the collar and hits him with her full strength: "Why…?" Minka picks up Trazyn from the ground and is about to swing a second time. But her hand was grabbed by Lynine and Minka dropped to the ground by her.

"Thank you, Lynine." Trazyn wipes off the blood coming out from his mouth: "I am sorry, dear Minka. But this is my choice. I brought you because I want to create a new future here. I am sick of fixing something that can't be fixed. Now, it's up to you whether you stay with me on this timeline or not. But I am not going anywhere. Good luck to you~" Lynine then released Minka and left with Trazyn.

Rage, sadness, and disappointment overflow Minka's vein, like a volcano that's about to explode. Throughout her life, she believed that Trazyn was a good person. But at this moment she just wants to travel back in time and give herself a good slap on the face. How could he decide to leave everyone he's cared about to die? How could he?

"Are you ok, miss?" Jacquel's voice suddenly appeared above Minka. She looks up and sees him extending out his hand to try to get her up from the floor: "How's your school life so far? How's your boyfriend?"

"He and I are done." Minka activates her trace tracker, she's going after Trazyn and making him pay for his decision.

"Woah, hold right there." Jacquel grabs Minka by the arm: "I can tell what you are going through. But whatever you are going to do right now is not going to help anyone. Even you."

"Next time you touch me, you are going to lose that part of your body." Minka shakes off his hand and continues to find where Trazyn and Lynine went. The air around them feels a bit more static, Jacquel backed off as Minka's eyes are glowing with a crimson red color.

On the other side of the school Lynine suddenly stopped following Trazyn: "Hey, so about your girlfriend…"

"She's not my girlfriend. We are time travelers, if you ask what's the relationship between me and her, you can say that we are…. Father and daughter." Trazyn has already given up this is why he's telling Lynine everything.

Lynine's brain is hyper-processing this information: "So... you are saying that you came from the future? But what about the part that you said: I've already given up. What will happen in the future?"

"That my dear, it's none of your concern." Trazyn puts his hand on Lynine's arm: "Thank you, for taking all of this so well."

"Well… I did not take it well, it's just for the information like this it's going to take me a few days to get over with. I mean we are friends, but I thought being friends means we can have a coffee together and laugh about the gossip of different people…. " Lynine surprisingly has little to almost no experience making friends.

"Of course, we can do that! How about I introduce to you a type of dessert? It's called rose cake." Speaking of which, Trazyn takes a bag out from his interdimensional pocket, it was supposed to be for Monika when they meet again.

"I know about the rose cake; the president of the student console always has few whenever she arranges a meeting." She picks up one. And firmly enjoyed it as well: "I like these because their pinkish color is similar to my hair but all of those sugar makes me feel… heavy."

"Not another bite!" Minka manifested her lance out. Crimson lightning around her gives out a fainting aura: "This is not for you! None of this belongs to you!"

"Let me handle this." Trazyn gives Lynine an assured smile. He pulls out a halberd that's in ebony color as if it's absorbing lighting: "Minka, leave. Leave us be, this is your best interest, trust me."

"Bastard ! Mom trusted you, she always has. Even in the end, she still trusted you. And this is how you repay her?!" Minka deploys out a field that would prevent anyone from noticing this fight: "you will return with me, whether you like it or not. And we will save the world. " Golden light blaze out from Minka. Mixing with the crimson lightning, this is probably the strangest mix of power but yet it is undoubtedly powerful. Minka points her lance at Trazyn. She usually uses it as a defensive weapon because she's too good at it. One of the reasons she uses a rifle is because she wants to get better with it over time.

Lynine is just sitting there, not because she couldn't move but because her legs aren't responding to her. The clash of aura between these two is already making a mere mortal like Lynine unable to move.

Trazyn didn't reply to Minka, gods know how much he has been through to arrive at a conclusion like this. Yet, he's angry or disappointed that Minka couldn't see it despite the fact that she read the navigation log. Trazyn holds the halberd with both of his hands and stands in a defensive position.

Minka charges in an instant, her form gradually disappearing, before reaching Trazyn she's gone without a scent. But Trazyn saw through the trick, he quickly dodges back. It was just at that single millisecond Minka appeared and slashed towards Trazyn. Trazyn replied with a series of quick attacks, his form is flawless even for a martial artist. He kicks his lance to bring out an attack that is powerful enough to make Minka step back.

Minka focuses her power on lightning-based attacks, her movement is like a constant blink strike that attacks Trazyn from almost all directions. She throws her lance out from a blink and pinks it next to Trazyn. But the lance emits a field that restricts Trazyn's movement. Almost with perfect synergy, she switches to her power sword and activates one of the abilities that she learned from Monika. An omnislash like attack that focuses only on one target. While the one from Monika is that she can slash through a whole army with just one consecutive slash.

When the dust settles, Trazyn drops his weapon. He blocked all the attacks but the muscles on his arms are temporarily disabled due to overheating: "Give up." Minka points her sword at Trazyn's face: "You are coming with me. And you will apologize to everyone you've given up."

"What do you understand…?" Green lightning starts to glow around Trazyn. Before Minka could strike back, she'd already been blasted by one of the arc lightning. Trazyn transformed into his Necron form. He did it even though he knew that it might draw other Necrons onto this planet, but he's so determined to stay, and no one can make him leave.

Minka shoots back a few powered bullets, but it bounces off Trazyn like they are made of rubber. She pulls back her lance and starts charging towards Trazyn with a mountain-leveling power. Trazyn didn't move before she could hit him. He phases into another dimension and grabs Minka by her neck. He didn't choke her, but he pulled out the device that was given by Orikan the diviner. The device that can separate the crimson power from its host.

"I am sorry." Trazyn stabs the device on Minka's chest. The whole world seemed to be stopped for a second. There's really not a lot of things going on. As the device was plugged into Minka's body, it sucked out all of the crimson daemon power from Minka. Minka's expression is heartbroken, it's like she's choking on air. Unable to speak or move. As the extraction completed, Minka fainted on the ground. And Trazyn retrieved the device.

"Will she be ok?" Lynine walks behind Trazyn.

"Sorry, you have to witness all of this. I did not want this to happen." Trazyn transforms back to his human form: "Also you don't have to hide about yourself anymore. I know you are immortal. This is why I am staying."

"You better explain to me about all of this later. And listen." Lynine picks up Minka and carries her in her arms: "If you know so much about me then you should know about my opinion on violence. So... Do yourself a favor. Take care of her and I will do whatever I can for you afterward." Lynine handed over Minka to Trazyn: "We've met before. During the great conquering period. I was a receptionist at the Terra royal museum. You are Trazyn the infinite, I can tell from your hunched back hood."

"Ah…. I am not sure if I remembered that, memory is such a fickle thing. What should I say to Minka when she wakes up?" Trazyn asks.

"Be honest, that's my best advice. Women don't like men who lie to them. At least it's like this for me." Lynine picks up the rose cake on the table: "Maybe treat her to some snacks. She looks like a person who can easily be bribed by that."

"Actually, can I ask for your assistance with this? I can't really carry her all the way back to our living quarter… Do you have a place where we can let her rest?" Trazyn doesn't ask a lot of favors, he would just teleport Minka back, if possible, but he needs to limit the use of Necron technology in this place, and the mere moment when he transformed himself probably already alerted some people in the cosmos.

"We can put her in my quarters, my roommates went away for holiday. She's not coming back anytime soon. I guess you can also stay there as well if you want." Lynine opens the door and checks for the corridor, due to Minka's field, the room didn't sustain any damage or make any noise.

They then snuck out during a class period. No one would notice a brand-new student being missing, except the people who oversee the school. Nova noticed their suspicious act and decided to follow them. She decided not to interfere with whatever they were doing as long as they didn't harm anything. This is how Nova acts, she's got too many things on her plate, and she doesn't have a lot of time to do everything.

In the afternoon, Minka slowly opens her eyes. The sun shines on her face, making her close her eyes again. She's exhausted, she feels like her body is getting lighter but in reality, a crimson daemon doesn't bear any weight as they are quantum beings.

"Welcome back Minka." Trazyn leaning towards Minka while sitting on the chair.

Hearing that, Minka turns away and covers her head with the blanket. She didn't say anything. If she had the energy, she would rise up and give a nice beating to Trazyn, even Trazyn is her father.

"I know you are mad at me… and I don't expect you to understand it… But in truth, I never gave up on any of you…I was being selfish, but I did what I could for the best of all world." Trazyn is trying the truth approach from Lynine: "I am just really tired. I really hope you can understand that. It's just..." Minka suddenly slaps Trazyn on the cheek. The way she looked at Trazyn reminded him of the first day when he and Monika met after she threw that lamp at Trazyn.

"Aw, why all of your Terras enjoy hurting people when experiencing emotional distress." Trazyn can't remember the last time he pissed off a Terra and wasn't replied with a use of force. He thinks that only Monika doesn't have problems like this.

"First, I want you to apologize to me for being a bad father. I want you to say that you are the worst father ever and you are worse than the father who chained their children in the basement." Minka's angry pouting face is really unthreatening.

"Jezz… what I did was really that bad?"

"You destroyed three of my favorite albums of my favorite band. I put it in my interdimensional pocket so I can hear the music any time I want to. And now you have taken away my power. You should apologize to it."

"What- ouch!" Minka hits Trazyn before he can finish his sentence.

"At last, I want you to date mom." Minka crosses her arms and tilts her head.

"I mean isn't I already? Oh…." Trazyn realized something: "Isn't it bad for the timeline continuous and stuff like that?"

"You don't have to worry about that, I will not help you with anything until you and mom hold your hand with each other and share a deep kiss. And it needs to be consensual and voluntary on both sides. Yea, I know you are just going to stun her and take a picture with it. So, don't play tricks." Minka does not have an easy tone. Why would she? Betrayed by your own father and now he's expecting a full-scale redemption?

"I…. can't." For some reason, Trazyn isn't the all-mighty Necron overlord that he once was. Normally this would be an easy task, as Trazyn already knows what Monika likes, thus getting into the end goal would be very easy.

Minka kneels on the bed and holds Trazyn's hand: "Dad, I know you might be going through something hard. It is fine if you don't want to share it. I won't pry. It's just… For me, I wouldn't know if I'm doing a good job or not if my own parents aren't even together. I am sorry if I am pushing you a bit too hard. You've always been a hero for me, this is why I always trust your decision. No matter how ridiculous it is."

"I should not be your hero Minka…. I am a bad person by nature. I never actually cared about you or Monika."

"But your action speaks louder than words, in countless cases you've saved me and mom. Even you think they are insignificant but in truth, we've all been rooting for you." Minka's big eyes are glittering with tears: "If you don't feel like it, we can leave. We can grab mom and go somewhere that can be found by no one. We are a family." Minka takes out the time-traveling machine, it was never in the crimson daemon dimension because Minka anticipated the possibility that something like this would happen.

"Minka…." Trazyn didn't even realize, but tears are dripping from his eyes: "I don't deserve you…. I really don't…I... "

Minka suddenly grabs Trazyn's head and places it on her chest: "Shhh.. It's ok if you feel like talking about what you've been through, no one is near us so you can tell me everything. You trust me, right? So, just tell me everything you've been through."

"I am so sorry… for what I've done… I thought they were just a possibility, but they were all…. Real. All of those sacrifices I've let everyone make just for my own benefit. I just can't bear it anymore. I just can't do more… First, is Nova. Then, Monika. Even you… and here you are, every time you will support me no matter what I've done to you or told you. Why did I deserve that? I am just a scumbag that's selfish and bad." Trazyn mutters the words that Minka never heard or imagined would come out of him. But she understands that Trazyn is just tired. She gently brushes his hair with her hand. Little did she know that this is what her mother did as well, during one of the trips of Trazyn's time travel adventure. He faced a huge defeat while trying to fight against the witches of the phyrexian legion. In a collapsing world, Monika held Trazyn's nearly completely damaged body and placed the time machine on his chest. She activated the device and was doomed in that broken world.

"Please, take a flyer. We need to address this issue now!" Outside of the Academie, Monika and Noel are giving out some pamphlets about the weather change. But to be honest this type of action is completely pointless in any way. The only reason the school approved this campaign is that Monika is the student console president, maybe because it is a tool to keep the console in check from the school.

Trazyn needs to do Minka's bidding in order to gain her forgiveness. He's changed, after all that time travel even one like Trazyn is ought to change. For some reason, Trazyn feels bad for Monika. It is hard to imagine what's on her mind right now. It is cold and she's in her school uniform giving out pamphlets that others might not even glance at then throwing away. He feels like he needs to do something. Not because of trying to gain Minka's forgiveness. But to fill up some of the voids in his heart.

"Hey there." Trazyn walks up and gives out an awkward smile: "I couldn't help but wonder, what is going on here?"

"Hello, we are spreading awareness about the recent changes in the climate. It shows an unregulated pattern. This is why we are trying to tell others about it." Monika's expression seemed to be more aloof than how Trazyn imagined, she might be also exhausted because no one actually takes her seriously outside of the school. Maybe her action looks futile for others, but Monika doesn't think so: "and... You are?"

"I am Tarzen a new student. If I have to be honest, I really like what you guys are doing." Of course, this is a lie, Trazyn is rather good at this after spending so much time with Monika.

Monika didn't really reply to Trazyn immediately, instead, she gave Trazyn a sigh: "You really shouldn't be involved in this kind of thing. Many people don't like what we are doing. So, do yourself a favor and leave before you get your reputation stained."

"No! What you guys are doing is good and I am sad that all of those other people couldn't see it." Trazyn takes a few pamphlets out from Monika's stash and starts running towards some stranger. He then successfully gave out all of the pamphlets in his hand in a few minutes. He then ran back while panting.

Monika's eyes are big and wide due to shock: "I didn't really expect you would give out those pamphlets this fast. Did they say anything bad to you? If they did, I'd feel really bad…"

"Na, it's fine. At first, they were really stubborn but after I explained to them the cause and they told me that it is good that our younglings can figure this kind of stuff out. They also asked how they could help, so I said they needed to talk to Monika."

Monika holds Trazyn's hand in excitement: "You are incredible!." What Trazyn feels is softness and warmth coming out from Monika's hand. This is something different from the countless times Trazyn has held Monika's hand. This is due to the enhancement Monika got after she joined the army, the enhancement lowers one's body temperature so they won't be detected by heat signature weapons easily and the more durable skin means they can recover from fights easier. Trazyn felt like if he squeezed her hand a bit too hard, it would break them completely.

"But" Monika's face looks a bit grimmer: "how did you know my name? I don't remember telling you that." Suddenly the ambiance felt a bit weird.

"Ah…" Trazyn quickly scans Monika from top to bottom to find out anything that would give him any clues about Monika's name. But fortunately, Lynine was around this place and she overheard their little conversation.

"I told him. He asked me about you guys so he came on his own terms." Lynine gives Trazyn a quick wink while Monika fixes her eyes on Trazyn.

"Lynine? Hey, how have you been? Has your classmate been mean to you again? You can always come to me you know?" Monika's concern for others is unparalleled. Thankfully this thing hasn't changed in Trazyn's timeline.

"I am fine, Thanks for asking. Anyways I need to get going. Tarzen is a good guy. I would make use of him if I were you." Lynine bid farewell to both of them. But naturally, she's hiding in the near corner as she promised to help Trazyn with anything.

"So.. Mr. Tarzen... '' Monika's eyes gaze in Trazyn's eyes: "Would you mind…" She gulps as if she's confessing to a boy she likes: "Joining the student console?" Her expression is nervous as she never really asked anyone to join a club like this.

Trazyn almost burst into laughter because of how shy Monika looked, maybe this is something he can tease her about when he gets back: "Absolutely, I am glad to be on board."

"Wait a minute!" Noel suddenly appears behind Trazyn: "I know you, you are the guy that's the boyfriend of the suspicious girl! Monika, we can't trust him, he's plotting to destroy everything we've built up!"

"Noel! Be polite!" Monika is pouting a bit, as she's kinda annoyed by Noel: "Tarzen just proved how good he is at what he's doing. Don't worry, I am not going to replace you or anything. I am just going to let him handle some of the work. Like a clerk." After saying this Noel's tensed expression has loosened.

Monika turns to Trazyn:" I am so sorry. Noel is my best friend. But sometimes she can be a bit overprotective of me. Hope that didn't really scare you off."

"I am fine, speaking of which. I need to do something later, so I guess I will see you tomorrow?" Trazyn reached out his hand: "It is really a pleasure to know you."

Monika shakes his hand: "So do I, see you tomorrow."

Then Trazyn quickly ran off to Minka's quarter. He can't wait to tell Minka what just happened today. As he approached the door, he noticed something weird. He can sense there are two people in the room and one of them is… a Necron.

Trazyn slowly pushed open the door, and his nerves suddenly tensed up: "Orikan." His tone is dire, he doesn't understand why Orikan is here with Minka.

"Long time no see, old friend. Now I see that you have the stuff I asked for." Orikan refers to the container for Minka's crimson daemon: "Would you mind handing it over so we can get our contract done with?"

"How did you know?" Trazyn manifested out the container but he's got some questions to ask before handing it in.

"Come on, I am an astronomer. I read the stars and know about the future. So, please. Do yourself a favor and give it to me… or...this human will suffer some dire consequences." His hand is in front of Minka. Minka doesn't seem like responding maybe because of something done by Orikan, but Trazyn can tell that she's not in any danger or harm. That is before the probable scenario that Orikan would smash her head with his metallic fist.

Trazyn tossed the container from another side of the room and it landed safely on Orikan's palm. Orikan curiously tilted his head to the side: "I can sense some change of you, my dear Trazyn. You are just going to give this to me? Without any tricks what's so ever?"

"No tricks, now would you please leave me and this girl alone?" Trazyn can sense the tension is building up in this room.

"Ohh, you want me to leave? What is this human to you? Have you forgotten who you are? Oh, my dear Trazyn, how far have you fallen because you've spent so much time with the humans?" Orikan's voice is full of a taunting tone of prejudice.

"My dear colleague, I have not bothered you in any way what's so ever. Our contract is fulfilled. Now it would be nice if you can give me a few centuries just to process all of that information." Trazyn is trying hard not to piss off Orikan, because the astronomer is known for having a strange temper. His eyes are fixed on Orikan's hand, it is getting dangerously close to Minka.

"Not bothered? Do you think I didn't know what you were doing? Changing timeline like it's a children's toy, what do you think it is? A game? Do you know how many alternative timelines you've created just because of your sentimental problems? I'm trying to maintain a master timeline while you just messed up all my works. And after some digging, I found out that the very person who's done this is a mere human?!" Orikan is clearly referring to Minka. He doesn't sound very stable, any moment if he gets angry Minka would be in grave danger.

"Orikan my dear friend. I will apologize on her behalf, she's ignorant about the problem. This is what I'm trying to fix as well. So, I am sorry that she made you mad. But I think for you it is not a big issue right? Since you are a master of time travel and… you have always been a better person..." Trazyn is trying to honey pot Orikan.

Orikan scoffs: "You have changed. I don't know if it's for the best or not. But, sure I'll give you a few centuries to process your little human problems." He then disappeared in a blink.

Then Minka suddenly woke up with a terrified face, she felt like a claustrophobic person that had been thrown into the trunk of the car and tied up at the same time. It was really an unpleasant feeling.

Trazyn poured a cup of water and handed it to Minka: "Don't worry, there's nothing to worry about. What do you want to eat later? You haven't eaten in a day."

"I don't feel like eating, as long as you don't get your things together." Minka is still mad about everything Trazyn has done to her.

"Well." Trazyn sits beside the bed: "I am actually making some progress with Monika. If you want to hear the details, you're gonna have to come with me to grab dinner."

Minka is moved, she loves to hear about Monika and Trazyn's story. In fact, it consists of most of Minka's childhood bedtime stories. But she can't give this to Trazyn yet, she turns her head away and crosses her arm: "You think you can tempt me with something you should do?"

"Well… how do you like some coffee-flavored dessert?" Trazyn knows exactly what Minka likes.

Minka looks at Trazyn in a suspicious way, if she recalls correctly, she never told Trazyn anything about liking coffee-flavored treats. In fact, she only eats them when she makes sure no one is looking at her. So this is like a test for time travel for Minka. If Trazyn somehow knows about this detail, then most likely he's been to the future. Thinking about this, Minka gets up from the bed and starts adjusting her hair in front of the mirror. She looks exhausted, losing crimson daemon power did affect her physically for some reason. The only thing she wants is to sleep right now.

"Dad, can you grab the treat for me? I am way too tired to go anywhere." Minka goes to the bathroom, she needs a shower to relax.

Trazyn leaves the room, he suddenly senses something again: "Why am I getting so popular these days?" He talks loudly to the corridor.

Nova decloaked herself, she narrowed her eyes a bit: "Impressive, you are the first person to know that I am cloaked. Now come on, we are going on a date."

"And what if I refuse." Today's event even made Trazyn feel exhausted as well.

She then pulls out a silenced pistol and points at Trazyn's heart. She then unlocks the safety trigger on the gun. No more words need to be said, Trazyn obediently walks in front of Nova and proceeds to leave the school. They then arrived at the small coffee bar not very far away from the school.

Nova signals Trazyn to sit on the corner seat. And while she sits at the opposite side: "So, what's it gonna be? A hand or exile?"

"I don't understand." Trazyn looks like he's bored.

"You see, you touched someone you shouldn't have. So, if you want to stay. I wouldn't mind. It's just you need to cut off your hand in front of me and never approach her again. Or you can leave the school forever and never come back." Nova throws a machete on the table.

"Damn, you are a monster." However, Trazyn is interested, he wants to see how far he can go before pissing Nova off, which is something he never will do in his timeline: "But I refuse. Do what you... must." Trazyn lays back on the seat, he's not protecting himself.

Nova's eyebrow twitched a little, she never saw anyone respond to her like this. She pulls the trigger, instead of a bullet, it is fire coming out of the pistol. Trazyn called off Nova's bluff. Maybe he knew that she was holding a lighter in the first place.

"Well, wasn't that an interesting interaction? I feel hungry, do you want something from the menu?" Trazyn didn't even look at Nova while asking all of those things as if Nova is a nobody.

The reason Nova isn't responding is that she's a bit scared. Normally she could read minds to understand the motive of the person but in this case, Nova is unable to do that. Mainly because Trazyn asked Minka to create a psychic barrier that prevents anyone from reading his mind. Also, the fact that Trazyn saw right through Nova's bluff which never happened before. She doesn't know what to do. After all, she only became an adult three months ago. Compared to the time when Trazyn first met Nova, right now she's just a freshman who's going to join the ghost program next year.

Trazyn ordered a steak and a glass of wine, he doesn't really care about the nutritional value, this is his preferred meal because it's up to his standard: "Stop staring at me. Order anything. I'll pay."

Nova slams her hand on the table and stands up, as she is about to walk away. Trazyn called her: "Nova, don't you want to know why I am here?"

Nova stopped, she slowly turned and stood right next to Trazyn: "How did you know my name?" What Trazyn didn't know is that Nova never tells others who her first name is. Of course, no one knows except her own sister.

"Sit, and order something." Trazyn sips his wine, from time to time he can tell the difference between a good wine and bad wine. This one is a horrible one.

Nova sits across Trazyn again, this time there's no pride or any emotion that's remotely contempt. She put both of her hands on the table, it is a gesture of showing honesty and respect. Trazyn never thought Monika and Nova were twins, just because of how far their personality deviates from each other. But this time, he can tell from the similarities of their faces and the way they look at people.

Nova ordered a scoop of ice cream. It's strawberry flavored, Nova's favorite fruit. She nervously looks at Trazyn because the longer he keeps silent the more she thinks that she's at a disadvantage.

"So, dear Nova. I would like to ask for your assistance on some matters." Trazyn cleans his mouth with the tissue.

Nova got startled a bit: "Huh? My help?"

"It's about your sister. I believe you prioritize her well-being, right? After all, she's the only family member you have left." Trazyn grins at terrified Nova. Before it was always Nova who had the upper hand in a conversation. He's somehow enjoying this moment: "You don't need to ask something like: how did I know that? The problem lies in how you will answer my proposal."

"I… want to make sure my sister is safe. But I will be off to the ghost program next year. So… I am not sure what to do at that point. If you promise you can take care of her at that period, then I will agree on whatever you are proposing." Nova's personality is rather pure than in the future.

"Are you sure? We didn't come up with a good term when we first met. Why are you putting your sister's safety in my hand?" Trazyn thought it was going to take a while before Nova agreed to his terms.

"Just an instinct. Also, my sister likes you, I guess that also makes sense." Nova said all of this naturally. This directly contradicts something Trazyn would hear from the Nova he once knew: " My sister never talks to anyone she's not interested in, and you must be special to be invited into the student console. Even though I am her sister, she still didn't invite me into her little party club. Not like I care or anything… But." Nova paused: " I think you do not belong in this world."

Trazyn's circuit stopped for a millisecond which is similar to when humans skip a heartbeat, but he still didn't lose his cool: " And what makes you say that my dear classmate."

Nova scoops the last piece of ice cream: "From the way you talk, at least it is obvious that you have some ample knowledge about me and Monika. From the way you are talking to me, you are leading the conversation, yet you still gave me an illusion of choice. Which is ice cream. This indicates a prideful personality and confidence in one's power. And from the way I and Monika lived, we made sure that no one knew about our true personalities and motives. This is a Terra trait that has been passed down through generations. Thus, in conclusion, you are either from another world where you encountered us and at least spent more than years around us or you did some detailed research about us. But from the way you are acting, I seriously doubt it is the second option." Nova then enjoys the last spoonful of ice cream.

"What do you want me to say..." Trazyn feels stupid. This is a rare case of him actually feeling lagged behind and he's a machine. Even he is not able to make all of those connections and analyses in this little time.

"How about you come clean? It is rare to meet a time traveler these days. There's a reason that you are here, and I might be able to help. I guess you didn't just travel to the past so you can mess with me, right?" Nova has a smug look on her face.

Trazyn feels like a deflated balloon, he always thought he's smarter than Nova but, in the end, he's probably not even near her level. He finishes his wine and leans back on the sofa. He then tells Nova about everything that's happened in his timeline. Worst case scenario he can just rewind the time and talk to Nova again. He even mentioned how she died.

But Nova is rather calm about all of those things. She probably isn't the type of person who cares about spoilers or anything like that. She's deep in thought about everything Trazyn just told her: "Wait a minute, so Minka is actually your daughter? That's really wrong that you agreed to fake date her."

"Out of everything I just told you this is the thing you focused on?" Trazyn is annoyed.

Nova chuckles: "Na, but why did you purposely piss her off though? Isn't it better to explain to her and let her give you the crimson daemon power? From everything you just told me, she sounds like a reasonable kid."

"She's older than you by the way. But no, I can't do that to her. She trusts me and that's a problem. I want her to be able to choose her own path. She could leave but she didn't, I want to give her a future where she's satisfied with her choice. And she's not able to do this if I am part of her life." Trazyn lost all of his arrogance and prideful personality, at least at this moment. Maybe this is the only way he can be honest with himself.

Nova facepalms: "You idiot." Nova shoots Trazyn an 'unbelievable' expression, similar to when Monika found out Trazyn is being goofy instead of considerate: "She already choose her path, and that's the time she started to travel to the past to be with you. I thought you were okay-ish intelligent-wise, but now I feel like you are just a selfish person who purposely implants your own idea on others. How did my sister ever like you….? I guess it must mean you are special in some way."

"Is that a good thing?" Trazyn is curious, this is the first time he heard about this comment from Nova.

"Honestly? I am not too sure. Monika is not an open person at all. If she wants you around, it means that she wants to get to know you better. And that sounds like a paradox but that's how she acts." Nova said: "Anyhow since I know about your plan. I guess I can provide you with some help." She then throws a chain of keys to Trazyn: "this is the key to the B-level basement, and it will lead to the D-level security room. But the blueprint you are looking for is at the E1 level. Just a warning though. The underground complex has been used for various purposes; the school is just a ruse for whatever's going down underground. Have Minka copy the key then give it back to me, I only got this because I am the class representative." She then stands up and does a lazy stretch: "Well, I am off now. See ya later."

On the way back, Trazyn was rethinking what Nova was saying. The scenarios that made Trazyn decide to betray Minka aren't just thought after lunch. He has been through way too much pain to get the same result. But after talking with Nova, maybe it is time to tell Minka about everything. She deserves to know the truth; this is why she came to the past timeline in the first place. If he has to be honest, he and Minka get along the best even at some point their relationship surpasses Monika. That is of course something he will never tell Monika. Right now, he's more like a living being rather than a machine that has been alive for millions of years.

While outside the door, Trazyn can hear two people talking in the room. He does an annoyed sigh and pushes open the door: "Alright what's-" He paused because Minka has dozens of paper stickers on her face while Lynine is sitting across, and she has none.

"Oh, hey Trazyn, come and join us. We are playing a card game called poker." Lynine looks full of herself while Minka has a look of defeat.

"Not fair! You've probably been a world-level poker player at some point while I am completely new." Minka is pouting.

"Well, from the way you play chess, I can certainly tell that you are not built for that purpose." Trazyn is pouring fuel on the fire.

"Dad!" Minka's face is red like a peach: "You are still not forgiven, you know?!"

"Speaking of which, why don't I tell you some story about how I left a really good first impression on your mother?" Trazyn sits beside Minka.

"He actually did, it was heartwarming." Lynine with the good assist.

Despite knowing to be a mature person, Minka still has a keen interest in this kind of stuff. Like a person who has a sweet tooth: " I guess… but it's not enough for me to forgive you!"

"I know, I know. I have to do the list of things on Monika." Trazyn clears his throat: "well, this is what happened." He then proceeds to tell the story about how he encountered Monika, but he left the part where he met Nova.

Minka's eyes are glittering like the night sky, she's the type of person who always loved fairy tales and romance stories. When she was a child, Monika used to tell Minka all about her adventure with Trazyn. One of the reasons Minka came to this timeline, she wants to be part of the adventure.

Despite being an immortal being, Lynine has always been keen on her human side, she doesn't have those god complexes. Every few decades she changes her profession or even planet at some point. A million worlds of the imperial empire surely are a huge place to be explored. She and Trazyn are somewhat similar, yet Lynine never associates herself with people for a long period of time. Just because she's tired of seeing death for the ones she used to love. The reason she accepted Trazyn is that he's also an immortal being. She likes him, but right now she knows that Trazyn has an obligation to Monika and Minka. She can wait, she has all the time in the world after all. Even if it means waiting for hundreds of years or more, she can still wait for Trazyn and finally be with him. But right now, she's just glad that Trazyn is developing on his 'human' side.

If Minka has to be honest, she doesn't like Lynine. In fact, Lynine in a lot of ways is better than Monika. She knows it because of the time she spent with Lynine before time traveling. She's the person who taught Minka how to use the lance. This is why she's a bit alerted when Lynine and Trazyn have been getting close to each other. There's also the reason that Lynine probably looks better than Monika. Not for every woman but Minka is surely prone to jealousy when someone looks better than her. But compared to Lynine, Minka is just too inexperienced in a lot of things in life. She just doesn't have the ability to understand people like Lyinne.

When Trazyn finished his story, Minka had already fallen asleep with a smile on her face. She probably took it like a bedtime story. Trazyn decides to spend more time with her as he didn't have time to explain everything to Minka. Lynine also left, she wants to get some night snacks. She invited Trazyn but he declined.

Lynine doesn't really need to rest. She barely feels tired in any given situation. At night it is the time where she gets on with her real business: the funeral parlor. In other's eyes, her methods of business development are rather…. Questionable. Compared to her usual self, she's more in her element while dealing with business. She's more upbeat while dealing with customers, usually, it would be fine, but this is the funeral business.

The first development target for Lynine is the adventure guild. The military barracks were a suitable target but the last time she did it she was scolded by the officers in charge and was reported by the imperial guard. To be honest, she would ask Trazyn to come and help her with her business, but she got rid of the thought after seeing Trazyn's conflict with Minka. These two clearly have something that needs to be fixed. It would be quite rude for her to intervene.

She knocks on the front door of the adventure guild: "Hello! I am the director of the past life funeral parlor! I would like to make a deal with you guys!"

The receptionist at the front has a weird expression, a mix of tiredness and impatience: "Go away, we told you that you are not welcome here. Also, who in their right mind would go door to door sales as a funeral parlor?"

"We are having a sale! One for one ! Also, discount for the ones that are under 30 years old! There's danger in your line of duty, don't you think it is a great opportunity to make a deal with me?!" Lynine probably didn't even notice how strange her words were.

"No, we do not, go away!" The receptionist starts to push Lynine out of the guild: "We'd rather make sure our adventures survive than put them in your coffin."

"But we are also having sales on our best quality coffins! We-" Before Lynine could finish her sentence, the adventure closed the door. This is not the first time this happened. But Lynine always comes back once in a while: "Those people just don't see isn't it…" She sighs, she's not upset or anything. She's just disappointed to see how short-sighted most people are. Lynine has been very familiar with death, the rumor in the school isn't wrong. All the friends and spouses Lynine used to have died due to old age or various reasons. One of the traits of being an immortal being.

Lynine's employees aren't really familiar with Lynine's true identity, they only see her as the weirdo director who goes door-to-door business proposals as a funeral parlor. But the pays are nice, so not a lot of them are complaining.

Lynines sits at a late-night bar and orders a plate of chips, she's thinking about what place she should go next for business development. Maybe the graveyard? No, not really the market is already saturated, this is why the business is leaning towards cremation. Innovating our rite of the decedent? But the tradition of sending off their parted beloved is our main selling point. We can't just change it… Lynine is out of ideas, she did all she could, but she always thought she could do more. Maybe she should go ahead and ask Trazyn after all, after seeing him helping Monika out she believes that Trazyn should be up for the task. But then the Minka problem….

Lynine finished her chips and drank a big glass of beer. Normally from her appearance, she's not even allowed to be in the bar but then you won't really have a problem if you own a bar. Lynine owns a majority of the shares of this bar, acquiring she made a deal with the owner that late at night only she can be the teenager-looking person who drinks on the spot.

She's relaxed after drinking the beer, she's not a fan of alcohol but once in a while it helps her to get rid of the stress of being alive. If every day is stressful for some people, imagine being alive forever. A sudden noise alerted Lynine: " I am in need of your assistance!"

It is someone she doesn't recognize, she rubs her eyes and stops him before making any more noise: "Yes, what can I do for you? Are you in need of a funeral service?"

"No, but it is related to that. The lord of the Cohen family is assassinated, the guard requires this to be utmost discrete, we will need your funeral service as latest this morning. Can you, do it?" The man looks terrified, it is not normal that the lord is assassinated in their house.

Lynine starts to make some phone calls, the other side apparently doesn't sound very happy, but they all agreed to participate, after around ten minutes of calling people. Lynine gives an assuring answer to that man. Then she's off to deliver the funeral.

The funeral was delivered within the expectation, even for a person like Lynine she's exhausted, she slowly walks back to her dorm and just directly jumps into her bed. In a few moments, before she fully fell asleep, she felt she had the best body pillow in the world. It smelled like heaven, and it even came with an armrest that can be squeezed to release some stress before sleep. She thought about buying some and storing them in the future just in case they don't make it anymore.
