Chapter 21

Chapter 21

"Another day, another wonderful beginning!" Monika woke up with a really nice lazy stretch. It's 5 am in the morning and she's already full of energy. She wakes up this early because there are a lot of things to do every day for her.

Nova's bed is just across the room, she puts on her sleeper and taps Nova on the shoulder: "Sis~ wakey wakey. Do you want to do the morning exercise with me? Also, make breakfast?"

Nova frowns without opening her eyes: "What…? What time is it?" She still sounded really sleepy.

"5:02." Monika's tone is full of excitement.

Nova immediately covers her face with the blanket, and a few more seconds later she's in her sleep state again. Seeing this Monika let out a small sigh and then proceeded to change to her sports clothes. She needs to do some exercise to start the day.

She gently closes the door so it wouldn't annoy Nova, then she does some pre-workout warmup. That's the time she sees Trazyn and Minka walking beside each other across the street. She wanted to approach and greet but she then noticed a strange look on Minka's face. As if she's just been through something traumatizing. Instead, Monika decided to just follow them and see what they are up to. Sure, she doesn't repel Trazyn but it doesn't mean she trusts him completely.

After following them for two blocks, she sees them going into the coffee shop. They then took two cups of coffee out without even ordering. And both of them seemingly are discussing something interesting. Monika is a person who's bad at getting hold of her emotions. She decided to pretend that she was just doing her usual workout and bump into them by accident. She then started running around the block and after a few minutes, she stopped at the table where both of them sat: "Oh, hey. Isn't this our new member of the student console? And this is…?"

"Hello, president. This is Minka. We are good friends, and we share the same dorm room." Trazyn answered her in a genuine way: "Were you working out?" Trazyn can tell from Monika's outfit, frankly, it looks exactly the same as the one Monika was wearing in his timeline.

"Just call me Monika from now on, at least when we are outside of the school. What are you guys doing out here at this hour?" Even Monika knows that no one would be outside at this time. Maybe she woke up Nova just on purpose to mess with her.

"I and Minka were having a stroll, she didn't get to sleep well last night…" Trazyn glanced at Minka's tired and disturbed face.

"Oh no, what happened?" Monika sits beside Minka and puts her hand on Minka's lap: "You can talk to me if you think it would be more comfortable." Monika refers to maybe it's better to talk to her because she's also a woman: "We take sexual harassment very seriously. Wait a minute." Monika suddenly realizes Trazyn and Minka live in the same dorm: "Did he….?"

Minka nods, Trazyn's eyes widen in a disturbing way. He did not expect Minka would mess with him this way: "Wait a minute, I didn't do anything! Monika, she's just kidding."

Monika glanced at Trazyn from up and down, and squinted her eyes at Trazyn: "They why would she claim that you are the perpetrator? Are you trying to silence the victim?"

"Monika, you can't be serious. I am not a person who would do anything like this to anyone." Trazyn sounded frustrated.

"Well, I just met you yesterday. And Noel told me that you are a bad person." Monika crossed her arms.

"Minka?! Tell her that it wasn't me who did this, it was Lyn-" Trazyn suddenly feels like whatever he was going to say is not going to help him with his case: "oh no, Monika, please. We are good friends, and I will never do anything inappropriate to Minka." He then sees Minka give him an evil smug.

Monika taps her chin with her finger: "Hmm, how about this, I will not be on the jury at this moment, as I am not in my jury clothes. But I will be taking Minka with me. After school, we need to discuss this matter seriously." She then held Minka's hand and walked away with her.

Maybe this is Minka's way to gain revenge from Trazyn for screwing her over and hurting her feelings. But the truth is, Lynine forgot that Minka was in her room. So, the moment she enters the room, she instinctively lies on her bed and grabs the blanket. Lynine is a very active sleeper, she kicks most of the time off her blanket off her mid-sleeping. In this case, she grabbed Minka mid-sleep and started treating her as if she's a body pillow. Her violent method almost traumatized Minka, she couldn't even get rid of Lynine until she finally was able to reach her phone and called Trazyn. But Minka will never tell this version of the story because it is embarrassing. This is also a good way to pose some challenges to Trazyn as she's pissed at him for being a bad father.

Trazyn just sitting on the spot feeling betrayed. Maybe he does deserve it, he's the cause of everything that has happened to her after all. He might not realize how bad it is to be on the other side of Minka. Or maybe he's doing this on purpose. The last time he pissed her off, he took away her crimson daemon and made the trade with Orikan. But he doesn't intend to do more though.

On the other side, Monika and Minka are walking alongside each other. This is weird for Minka, on the one hand, Monika is her mother but on the other hand, she can't tell her about it this early on, because she's not obliged to know the truth. Before Minka can break off the awkwardness, Monika decides to speak first: "So, what exactly happened between you two? I don't really buy the story that Tarzen harassed you."

"Why not? He looks really perverted." Minka's answer is still full of edge.

"No… the first time we met, he looked… sad." Monika paused a bit: " Just the… expression, he does have that smugness look, I will give you that but… I felt like he's been through a lot. If I have an ability like mind reading, I would love to solve his problems." Monika is kind-hearted.

"You wouldn't want that. His mind is really fucked up." Minka's attitude changed after dealing with Trazyn, she's more leaning to herself, instead of that nice daddy's little girl type.

"Hey!" Monika's power poses: "Don't talk to your classmate like that."

"Or what? Princess. We are not in school anymore. I can do what the hell I want." Minka tilts her head, she's really not in the mood.

"You are right, but you can't just be mean to people. Pretty sure your parents don't want to see you like this." Monika said.

Minka scoffs: "Bitch, please. My parents disappoint me on daily basis. don't you dare bring it up."

"I am sorry if I touched a nerve, but aren't you supposed to be better than them?" Monika is still trying to reason with Minka.

"Oh, but I am." Minka's face is dangerously close to Monika's face, they can feel each other's heat radiating out: " You see, you know nothing about me, and I suggest we stay that way. Do not ever test my patience." This is the real Minka. You don't become the youngest colonel in the army just by being nice. She's been acting in a nice way because she misses Trazyn. But now since Trazyn's image has broken for Minka, there's no more need for her to be nice. She will drag Trazyn away when they are done with the tasks, either in parts or as a whole.

Monika gulps, she's a bit scared of Minka. She thought this girl who looked like her was an easy-going person, but ever since this conversation, she realized that Minka and Tarzen are somehow similar. Both are hiding their true intention and emotions. And their eyes reflect arrogance.

Minka gives Monika a dirty look and starts walking away without her. Monika has been left alone on a clear street, it's really an interesting view, a girl who's been looked up to by many now feels a bit depressed, and the source is the two new students. But Monika's positivity still overcomes the negative feelings. She hits her face a few times and continues her morning workout. But she surely needs to have a conversation with Tarzen, because it is Tarzen's first day on the student console. She needs to show him things around.

When Minka got back to her dorm, she didn't go back to rest. Lynine is still sleeping, Minka just gives her a glance and sits in front of the desk. Suddenly, the items around her start floating then all of them start to disassemble into their basic components, fountain pens have been broken down into springs and pieces of metal, everything in the toolbox seems to start assembling itself. This is a magical moment, Minka just sitting by the desk, deep in her mind. However, behind her, a bullet-shaped entity starts being assembled by various components. After a few more moments, a lead slug-looking entity falls on the desk. Minka uses a plier to pinch the bullet and her eyes start to glow with yellow light. The bullet seemed to be infused with Minka's energy and started to glow in a green light, the same color as Necron's gamma-ray.

Minka carefully inspected the bullet and then dismantled it. This is her ultimate weapon against Trazyn. She developed this ability to be able to kill Trazyn if needed. Even if she won't fire it, it will still make a great bargaining chip if by any chance Trazyn is going deviant. Minka was described as a genius once every two hundred years and this bullet can be built even from the easiest household items. This is the extent of Minka's true power. She's not the strongest when it comes to hand-in-hand combat. But she's definitely unmatched by anyone or anything when it comes to intelligence. Minka's ability surpasses even Nova at her prime, but she decides to keep it hidden. It was never her intention to become someone famous or powerful. At the end of the day, she's just a girl who lacks fatherly love. But also out of love, she would knock Trazyn back to his track, no matter the cost. One reason Minka didn't make a fuss about Trazyn taking away her crimson daemon power is simply that it was never in her real intention to inherit the power. It was a gift when she was born, but she's more than that. It is never a good idea to make a genius mad. And worst of all, Minka is the type that would act instead of just putting things in theory.

Then Minka yawns, she suddenly feels tired. Even for people with psychic ability, it is almost impossible to even utilize their ability like Nova, who can fire a bullet without a gun. It is almost never seen before anyone could do what Minka just did. This act requires an insane amount of concentration and otherworldly understanding of one's power. But for Minka, this is like a normal person doing ten minutes of workout, basically barely a challenge. Minka just leans back on the chair and eventually falls asleep. Minka's look is deceiving, no one would have thought this person would be even in the army. Personality-wise, she's like the type of girl who would fall in love with the neighbor boy. She's sweet but not to an annoying extent. She's liked by everyone she ever talked to. But this has still never fixed the hole inside of her. A void of desperation for love. She thought she could trust the one person who would treat her with love under any circumstances, now this person has betrayed her. What's worse is that she just couldn't understand whether it was her problem or Trazyn's. She can't think about anything she's done that might cause Trazyn to go deviant.

Trazyn sits at his new desk which is inside the student console room. There are only two desks, one is for Monika and the second one is for him. Noel always preferred to sit on a sofa, otherwise, she would've gotten one as well.

He's preparing some of the documents which will be needed during their first console meeting. Today, he's going to learn about his role and other responsibilities as a new console member.

Noel enters the door looking a bit surprised, she's just finished her early training. Normally she's the first one every morning on the console. But she didn't greet Trazyn, because she still does not trust Trazyn. Not after seeing his suspicious actions and his 'girlfriend'. However, she couldn't help but notice Trazyn seems to be packing something. From its size, it looks like it is a gift.

While Noel is trying to find out the exact nature of the gift, Monika enters the room in haste. She looks as if she was running away from something. Then she handed over a letter to Trazyn: "Here, I hope Minka would like it."

"You sure about this? I was just asking for ideas. You really didn't have to get it for her." Trazyn answered in his modest tone.

"Well, it's natural that we console members help each other out from time to time. Right?" Monika glanced at Noel: "Noel! come and give your opinion about Tarzan's gift for Minka."

"Pass, not interested." Noel is wiping the window; she does this every day.

"Aw, fine." Monika then turns to Trazyn: " I also wrote a birthday card… " Monika looks a bit shy: "can you… give it to her? But don't look at the content yourself, it's embarrassing." Monika pouts

"Alright, alright… by the way, when are you going to brief me about my responsibilities?" Trazyn asks.

"About that." Monika takes out a huge binder from her backpack: "This is the account for the past years and until yesterday. It would be nice of you if you could validate the specifics under each transaction. Like the name, amount and time, etc."

"That's it?" Trazyn is going over the binder: "Just to find out if there's anything out of the ordinary?"

"Yes, take your time. Noel and I need to go to the console meeting with other clubs. I'll bring out your idea about the antique club today." Monika winks at Trazyn with a warm smile.

Trazyn replied with a nod and proceeded to sit at his seat and start going through the account book. After Monika and Noel left, Trazyn activated the teleportation device and ported the gift on Minka's desk. He let out a sigh, he hoped that this little gift would fix his relationship with her. She's an easy girl to satisfy but when she's moody not a lot of things in the world can fix their relationship.

It took Trazyn around five minutes to finish checking with thousands of transactions. It is not really a hard task, as Trazyn has a mechanical brain. He pulls out a photo, a photo that's in an unrecognized place, yet in the picture, there is Monika, Minka, and him. Nearly five thousand times of time travel should not be possible by any mortal. Every time travel will bring a heavy load to memory and one's sanity. Even for a Necron. Because time works differently in each world he travels, he might also live thousands of lives. Yet, Trazyn is still here for some reason he kept going back to his prime world instead of staying in a timeline where everything is better.

Minka rubs her eyes while waking up from her chair, she realizes that there's a blanket on her. Must be Lynine, she thought. She then sees the gift which is given by Trazyn: "Happy birthday. Dear daughter." It was written in a perfect gothic cursive style as if it was typed by a machine: "He knows?" Minka feels a bit zoomed out, her vision is getting unclear. She wipes away some of the tears and clears her throat. She didn't open the gift because she wanted to open it in front of Trazyn.

But she still can't act nicely towards Trazyn, she wants him to know about the consequences of lying to her. She also believes that Trazyn needs someone to be able to kick his butt so hard that he will save the world. She always believes Trazyn is her hero, if he won't be one then she will make him one herself. Even though she's very happy about her birthday gift, at this phase she needs to bury those emotions. From an outsider's standpoint, anyone can see the problem between Trazyn and Minka. Both of them care too much about each other yet they also don't know how to express it properly. Minka inherited Trazyn on this point, unlike Monika who's straightforward with her emotion. Minka always decides to bury her emotion, instead, she uses that energy to act instead of talking it out. When she was 15, there was a classmate who seriously pissed her off, so on a heavily raining day. Minka went into her house and drowned their dogs. Then Monika had to pay a huge fine for compensation. But this still didn't change the way she acts. Because she believed that she was right, and the only problem was that she was caught. Of course, Monika scolded her harshly and also punished her by not having birthday presents for the next few years.

Her mind snapped back to reality when Lynine entered the room: "Oh, hey. How was Trazyn's gift? Did you like it?"

"Why are you acting like… you picked the gift for me?" Minka just focused on the package. This is the second gift she's gotten from Trazyn. The first one was the purple dress she wears almost every day.

"I didn't. But I saw what he put in there~ if I were you, I'd go to him and give him a big hug." Lynine hugs Minka from the back of Minka's shoulder, she likes this child.

"You are like thousands of years old, and yet you still act like you are 20." Minka shrugs off Lynine, she doesn't like people when they pretend, they are close.

"So mean, also I am not 'thousands of years old'. I am twenty for a few thousand times," Lynine replied in an unhappy tone. But then she suddenly got pushed back by her psychic ability.

Minka stands up and slowly walks in front of Lynine, she then pushes Lynine against the wall and uses her other hand to hold Lynine's chin.

"What are you… doing?" Lynine's face is bright red. Minka is too close, it's so close that their chest is pushed against each other. Minka just suddenly scoffs and then releases Lynine: "Psycho…" Lynine mumbles. She thought Minka was going to kiss her.

Minka just packs her rifle, she's going to the underground of this school. Some of the recon work needs to be done before they decide to execute their plan.

Trazyn was just looking out of the window, then Monika and Noel had returned from the club meeting. Monika doesn't look very happy, while Noel is rubbing Monika's back as if they went through something rough.

"What happened?" Trazyn asks, in a blank tone.

Noel just gave him a dirty look and escorted Monika to the sofa: " It's ok Moni…. Those people are just too stupid to see…" Noel brings a cup of water to Monika then continues to comfort her.

"Is there anything that I can do to help?"Trazyn sits across from them.

"Noel, could you please buy me some rose cake? I feel like eating those." Monika gave Noel an assuring smile. After Noel leaves the room, Monika covers her face with her hands and starts quietly sobbing.

"Oh, no.." This is the first time Trazyn saw Monika in this condition. He's a bit lost at what to do. Instead of talking, Trazyn just slowly moved next to Monika and sat beside her: " I am sorry, to let you go through…."

Before Trazyn could finish his sentence, Monika sticks her head on Trazyn's chest. Trazyn didn't say anything, he just put his hand on Monika's back and gently rubbed it back and forth. After being together with Monika for years, he surely knows how to handle almost all situations. At this phase, Trazyn already knows what happened to Monika from Noel's response. There's nothing he can do more than just try to comfort her. The good news is that Monika is not fragile, but she's also not indestructible.

"Thank you." Monika mutters and looks into Trazyn's eyes: "I don't want to be rude but… please pretend that none of this has happened…. If you tell anyone about this..."

"I won't." Trazyn said before Monika could finish her sentence.

Monika grins in affection and quickly gives Trazyn a small kiss on his cheek, then she proceeds to leave the room. However, before she left, she put a file on the table, it was the file about Trazyn's history and antique club. The club room assignment is right above the vault of the blueprint.

Now Trazyn can officially begin his plan. Trazyn arrives at the room and drops a small box on the ground, the box becomes billions of nano scarabs and starts to eat away the floor but also rebuilds it with an illusionary cloak device. This process is going to take a few days, as the vault is made of some of the strongest metals known to mankind. The chromosphere, however, is deeper than that, but it requires access to the vault. While this is in progress, he needs to pretend that they are doing some meaningful work in the club.

"Nice place." Nova decloaks herself, she's leaning on the wall while looking at Trazyn curiously: "So, how does this help exactly? I did what you asked by placing the club room here, but I still don't understand what you are up to."

"Nova, can I be honest with you?" Trazyn walks in front of Nova: "I…"

Nova puts her finger on Trazyn's lips: "Don't…. You don't have to. I don't want to know anything more about my future, and I know you and Monika are going to be… together. Even knowing the future is determined, I prefer to decide my own destiny. But I do have a question…. Are we going to be friends?" Nova's eyes are glittering.

Trazyn gulps: "Yes, we are. At least at some point."

Nova gives him a wink and proceeds to leave the room, Trazyn seals the room with a forcefield that prevents anyone besides him from entering the room. Then Trazyn shoots Minka a text about the preparation. Minka is right outside the vault. She planted a small scanning device outside the door, so when the day comes, she will know if there's anyone who will intervene with their work.

Then she's heading back to her dorm, she tells Trazyn to come as well, so they can open the gift together. When Minka enters the room, she notices that the light is off. As soon she switched the light on, she was startled at first, but then she put her hands to where her heart is and shed a drop of tears of happiness. Monika, Nova, Lynine, Trazyn, and Noel are at the other side of the dorm and holding a cake. Trazyn put some serious effort into trying to make Minka happy. Noel's here because Monika dragged her into this. They then had a wonderful time together.

After the cake event, Monika holds Minka's hands and stands right next to Minka: " Nova, don't you think us three look similar? Come on! Let's take a picture together."

"No, thanks. I am good with the drink in my hand." Nova is sipping on her strawberry-flavored soda. She's too embarrassed to participate in things like this. However, without listening to Nova's protest, Monika took out her phone and took a selfie of the three.

The last time Minka had a birthday party like this was when she was eight years old. This is why she's joyful about this birthday party. At this moment, she can drop everything she's burdened with and truly enjoy herself. No more obligation of saving the world and no more painful memory about betrayals, just this moment of enjoyment with the few people who're dearest of her life.

After the party, everyone went back to their home. Minka and Trazyn stand on the balcony gazing towards the stars. Suddenly, Minka hugs Trazyn at the front and sticks her head on Trazyn's chest, the same way Monika did earlier in the day: "Thank you, dad. I forgive you. You don't have to say more, I believe your judgments. You don't have to prove anything to me anymore." Minka saw through what Trazyn had been doing for the past few days. If he told Minka that he knew what he was doing then she would've never believed him because logic-wise, it's all been a disaster. But Trazyn took on an emotional way, by proving to Minka that he knows everything about her, from past to future. And by doing this means that he never gave up on any of them, he's a wordy person because he's a deceiver, trickster, and a liar. Yet his actions are always honest to himself and a truthful person who deeply cares about the people in his life.

"Open the gift, dear daughter." Trazyn brings the gift box to the front. His expression is calm and yet there's the little almost unreadable happiness from his eyes.

"You are a terrible hyper, but…. This will do." Minka is back at her normal way of constantly teasing Trazyn constantly: "Let me see…." Minka opens the box and in it is a service weapon. Or at least a version of it, Minka carefully takes it out and inspects it in her hands.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

"Huh." Minka spins it around her finger and puts it in the holster: "To be honest, I expected something more special. But this will do." Minka clearly isn't satisfied with this gift, but what more can she say?

"You don't like it…?" Trazyn looks a bit disappointed by Minka's reaction.

"I know two other people who have the same weapon." Minka is trying to dodge Trazyn's gaze, she couldn't really help it.

Trazyn gently pats Minka's head: "Oh dear daughter, why don't you try to shoot it? The service weapon comes in different forms, after all, it's a prototype weapon." Trazyn created a void shield and signed Minka to shoot him.

Minka pulls it out from the holster and shoots at Trazyn, but the moment the ammunition leaves the gun, it suddenly reformed into a small grenade. The particle reconstruction speed is so fast that Minka didn't have time to react to it. Trazyn however on the other hand grabs the grenade and puts it in the dimensional pocket. He doesn't want the explosion to destroy everything in this room, it belongs to Lynine after all.

Minka's eyes suddenly light up as if there are stars in her eyes: "So, this is a grenade launcher in a pistol?" She sounds excited: "Does it work like other service weapons? Unlimited ammo but it has some cool down mechanic?"

"Yep." Seeing Minka react to this gift positively he's quite glad of choosing this gift. Well, he stole but still counts as choosing.

"I love you, dad." Minka hugs Trazyn tightly. For her, this gift rules.

"You are very welcome. Dear Minka." Trazyn gently hugs her back.

In the outskirts of the city a mansion owned by a minor lord: "So, who is that Tarzen person?" A girl almost the same age as Monika sits at the end of the grand hall. Her expression is cold, yet it does not cover the majesty radiant out from her presence.

One of the two agents wearing Lorence's family uniform bowed down on one knee and explained: " We ran the background check, he's from an old galaxy sector now occupied by the xeno forces. His background is not very clear, but he does seem powerful."

"Seems?" The room temperature suddenly dropped and there's starting to have mists on the window, yet it is still midsummer: "Do you 'seem' like a worthy person who can be kept in the Lorence family or not?" Her tone is as cold as the permafrost in the deepest part of the polar sphere.

"Lady Eula… I." Before he could explain himself, his throat was frozen, yet his face is still warm. The other agent, seeing this, immediately bowed down on both knees and started pleading: " Lady Lorence, we will find more information, please give us just a bit more time."

The girl unclenches her hand, and suddenly the agent that has his throat frozen can breathe normally as if nothing has happened before. They then run out of the grand hall in haste. The room temperature is returning to normal. She stood up from her throne and started looking out of the window. Her light blue hair is rather rare even among the imperium. Yet, it doesn't look strange on her, on the contrary, it brings out the presence of her elegance majesty even more. She opens the window and steps onto the balcony, the sunset is rather radiant, yet it doesn't bother her at all. Eula is from the Lorence family, an ancient family that has been on this planet ever since the first human fleet that landed. Over the generations, they have become one of the most powerful families on the planet. Yet, it has all changed, ever since the reform of the army. After the Astra militarum took over the high command, there was no need for the old powerful families. Despite having plenty of resources it has no command in the army or anywhere significant.

Eula grew up in the story about the family of old, where the whole planet will shake if the Lorence family even whispers. Yet, while at her age of supposed to achieve glory, she was disrupted constantly by the same people who took away her family's glory. And their leader is Monika. Eula is not part of the student console, yet she's the founder of the swordsmanship club. Even though she was challenged by many, she still prevailed among all the contestants. But she's not satisfied with what she's achieved. She will only stop when she's able to bring down everything Monika has created and what she has stood for. But her intention was never revealed in the Academie, this time when Monika was trying to allocate some budget for the history and antique club, she firmly rejected her proposal. It still passed, yet it did bring a hard hit on Monika's reputation. This is why she's kind of satisfied with the day and thus enjoying a nice sunset.

"This is but a first step to regaining what we've lost." She clenched her fist and pounced on her heart. She gazed into the sky, she imagined that many centuries ago, her ancestors when they first arrived on this planet. Did they say the same thing? Or they said something different. If anyone else has their stubbornness, they might fail everything in their life. Yet for Eula, this is like her temperature manipulation ability, it is just a bonus on an already perfectly good mold. She hopes one day she can fight Monika face-on in the arena then humiliate her in front of everyone. Thinking about this, her heartbeat beats even more rapidly. She hopes that one day Monika will beg for mercy then she will point her swords at her face and say: No. Then end her pathetic life.

Eula takes a deep breath; all of those thoughts made her adrenaline pump into an overload mode. She jumps down from the three-story building and pulls her sword out from her back. It is a great sword that was given to her by her now-deceased father. The sword's name is rather simple: Sunder. It is rumored that in the sword, there's a machine spirit living inside it. Only a user that has extremely strong mind durability can wield this sword. Her sword skill was passed down since the founder of the Lorence family. It was refined throughout the generations. And she follows strictly towards the skillset, yet this doesn't prevent her from using her deadly psychic ability on top of her master-tier swordsmanship.

After causing some serious gardening damage, she puts away her sword and lies down on the grass. Then she picked a small flower right next to her, under the sun it started to glitter with shiny light due to Eula's ice enchanting ability. However, her peace was disrupted by her butler: " Master Eula, your dinner is ready. Do you want to have it at the dining hall, or should we set it up here so you can have a picnic?" This old man is rather calm while talking with Eula, no bowing, no gestures, and of course no fear.

"I am rather in a picnic mood, thanks for asking." Eula is rather polite towards the old butler who has been taking care of her ever since she was little. Sitting on the picnic blanket while having tea is a calming experience, however, her calmness is soon disrupted with a burst of laughter from outside of her mansion.

Minka was just laughing about some interesting stories about Trazyn's time travels. He was explaining that there was a world where everyone looked like humanoid pigs and there's a version of Monika on it. And the story that happened was rather chaotic.

However, Eula is annoyed. She never takes any disturbance lightly, especially from the guy she ordered people to investigate. Instead of relying on others, she decided to do this one by herself. If the opportunity is given, she will strike him down.

"Was there a world where you fell in love with another woman? You know, not a mom but someone else." Minka blinks her big eyes, her expression is somewhat unreadable.

"Is this some type of test or…?" Trazyn asks.

"No, no, no. I won't tell mom about it." Minka's fake smile is a bit terrifying.

"Well…." Trazyn replied with a sassy tone: "I maybe… kinda… dated… Nova…?" He elongated his voice so he could read Minka's expression. But Minka's expression did not change one bit, so he continued: "I might also… dated Lynine…"

"So, this is why you were so close with Lynine? What made you change your mind?" Minka is rather taking this really well.

"Because of you, my dear daughter." Trazyn touches Minka's cheek.

"Awww, dad. Stop it, this is too sweet." Minka is genuinely happy about this answer.

Eula is following them around a corner, one reason she hates doing this kind of task is if it is up to the way she deals with stuff, she would just jump on them and fight already. Their conversation is somewhat bothersome, probably due to the lack of parental love ever since she was a child. But one thing she didn't know was that Tarzen is already a father and her daughter looks almost the same age as him. Sure, there is technology to delay the process of aging, but none can achieve this level. Whoever this is, he must process some serious resource.

"Speaking of which." Minka suddenly stopped and gave Trazyn an evil grin: "Why don't we spar again? I'd love to fight worthy opponents."

"Worthy? I do remember that I whooped your butt last time we fought." Trazyn gives out a chuckle.

"So, I guess you have nothing to be afraid of, right?" Minka's tone is still evil: "Or, perhaps you were just lucky that you managed to have that one item that would incapacitate me." Her eyebrows raised for a moment.

Trazyn suddenly stopped walking: " Oh, dear Minka. You sure you want to do this?" A black sword manifested from Trazyn's hand. Minka replied with a scoff then she started to deploy the void field where the outsider could not know what was happening inside the dome. That includes Eula.

Eula almost dropped her jaw because the ability both of them were using was outside of Eula's understanding. She wants to approach but instinct tells her that it is better to stay out of this and run away. But she won't, her hatred towards the Terras outmatched her instinct. If she can learn this ability, then her date of vengeance is within the grasps. Instead of investigating, she decides to stay where she is and wait for the action.

"So, what do you want to practice? Martial art ? Telekinesis ability?" Trazyn crossed his arm with a confident grin, he never actually knew the true depth of Minka's power, maybe this could be a good opportunity.

"Just want to know more about you. You know, like those drama talks." Minka is doing some pre-fight stretches, she doesn't want to twist her wrist or something. Unlike Monika, she didn't go through those genetic modifications. Sure, some genes passed on to her but superhuman regeneration isn't one of them: "Here's a question for you, what do you like about girls?"

"Isn't it weird to ask your own father about this type of question? But, from a human perspective, genetic superiority must come first. For example, longer legs mean running faster, wider hips mean better survivability while giving birth. Slender bodyline means less energy consumption required for survivability and heavier breasts means better nutrients for the descendants." Trazyn scoffs.

"What about mom? What do you like about her? She's beautiful, does she fit with your criteria?" Minka cracks her knuckles.

"Monika is a rare being in the world, she fits with the human criteria. But for me, I am not a human. I just think she's interesting if I'm being honest." Trazyn held his halberd horizontally: "You ready?"

Minka stomps the ground with her feet, the shake doesn't feel like something that's coming from an average height girl like her. Trazyn soon realizes the ground is hollow below him, it's just Minka holding him with her telekinesis ability: "Round 1, Minka won." She grins.

"That's not fair, you can't just claim victory like that. Just drop me, I'll show you." Trazyn doesn't like losing this easily.

Minka shakes her head and snaps her finger, the ground is restored as it used to be: "Whatever, I don't even feel like tr-" Minka suddenly ducks her head, Trazyn was already behind her and about to slash. But she didn't give him a chance to continue his attack, she immediately blasted a wave of energy behind her and regained her stance. She takes out her service weapon and fired an explosive attack.

"Good reaction, Monika has taught you well. But" Trazyn's voice suddenly came from behind Minka: "She never taught you how to fight me."

Minka's eyes changed from being tense to relaxed, Trazyn didn't put a blade on her neck, instead, he just scratched her chin from behind: "Fine. But how did you do that? I didn't sense anything like illusion or teleportation."

Trazyn gives Minka a small device: "It's a nanobot controller, you can use it to create a temporary replica with everything but your special abilities, it only lasts 20 seconds. I was always behind you; you were fighting the illusion the whole time. Just don't have too much fun with it."

Minka immediately activated that and started to let the replica do a quick shoulder massage, at some point she even made some lewd voice. Trazyn just replied with a face palm.

"Round three to see who's the best? No abilities but raw strength?" Trazyn proposed.

"Oooo, you want me to kick your ass close and personally? I don't need super-strength to be able to fight you know?" Minka is ready.

Trazyn dashes in with a charging stance, his goal is to make Minka dodge so that he can stick her while she's dodging away. But a few meters out, Minka is still not moving. Something is odd but Trazyn is still going for her. When Minka is within arm's reach, Trazyn strikes with his fist. But Minka's evil grin made him stop when it was only two centimeters away from Minka's face.

"I lost." Trazyn falls back and gives an assuring pad to Minka's shoulder.

Minka tilts her head sideway: "Oh? You knew what I was going to do?"

"Yea, you were going to grab my arm and toss me to the ground, but I'd rather not dirty my clothes." Trazyn at least knows some depth of Minka's strength. If Minka really means to kill, even he isn't able to stop her: "How fast did you get to the colonel position?"

"A year or two, I mean it's really not big of a deal." Minka is humble, some of the great soldiers spend their lifetime reaching that position, but Minka just reached it like it's an afternoon tea: "Question: What do you think of this planet?"

"What? You are some kind of interviewer now? But an interesting question nonetheless." He stands straight and pads off the dust: "When I first came to this planet, I came for its treasures. In fact, I came for the very thing we are looking for now. A device that can lock and switch dimensions freely."

"The chronosphere? But why didn't you take it?" Minka asks.

"I didn't know where it was, it took me years to find a single clue about it. But it was related to the Terra family. So, I went on with an investigation or rather a quest to find the Terra family, after a few years I found it. I met with Nova Terra under an oil rig, but the moment I saw her I realized that I cannot make a trade with her."

"Yea, aunty Nova can be a real pain sometimes."

"Precisely, so I needed to find a pressure point for her. I thought it was the subordinate of hers, Maverick. But soon I realized, Nova doesn't have a 'heart'. Or back then I concluded that she was more duty-oriented. However, the opportunity came to me on a silver platter. Monika got into trouble and needed someone to rescue her."

"That's where your story begins right? Aw, Mom told me this part so many times. Do you know that she didn't trust you until you guys revisited the bar? That night when she kissed you on the cheek." Minka's eyes are glowing with the light of jealousy.

"Yea, I noticed that. Back then I was trying to pinch out information from her, but none worked. It all changed when we and the Stormlord were brought to the Mirrodin dimension. When I got my first host body, I realized how many feelings have been oppressed inside of me. It was on that day, I realized that maybe I should drop the thing I am looking for and start enjoying life again. And..." He fingers guns at Minka: " You are the result. Couldn't be prouder."

"What about Emilia? You forgot about her?" Minka doesn't mention her often because she's also a pain in the ass to deal with.

"Ah… that…"

"That?" Minka asks in a suspicious tone: " Are you not telling me about something? What's wrong with Emilia?"

"Her anger." Trazyn looks away: "Was a result of my action. Or the action of your actual father. I found out what he did... maybe she couldn't take the truth, so instead she moved that anger to me. "

"Why in the world would she be angry at you?... Unless...oh no." Minka realized something: "Did he do it?" Minka's expression became serious: "This explained so much, she was so pissed when she saw me again... Because I left my timeline so I can have a choice. " Minka's legs suddenly softened: "Was I the blame?"

Trazyn crouches down: "I am sorry to tell you about this…But... the deed was already done... even if you were there, you couldn't stop him, I just witness the very end."

"Why are you telling me all of this?... you could just lie to me." Her hand is slightly shaking out of shock

"You said you wanted the truth, so I am telling you that. You are the very reason I am still doing what I'm doing. I am proud of what you've accomplished like your real father, but you also need to know the price of your freedom."

Minka gulped in sorrow: " Thanks dad… for telling me the truth, even if it's ugly." She shed away the tear in her eyes. She's a colonel after all, she has seen some real ugly scenarios, but she never realized her freedom was at the cost of her own world. But again, in this chaotic universe, no one can achieve glory without some form of screwups. She then turns off the barrier, her stomach is a mess now, probably because of all the information she had to process.

Eula is still hiding behind the wall; she sees the uneasy expression on Minka thinking that Tarzen must have done something to her. However, she can't intervene as she's still gathering intelligence to try to bring down the student console. After this, pretty much Minka and Trazyn didn't really do anything interesting. Eventually, she went back to her mansion before the day got completely dark.

On the bed, Eula couldn't fall asleep. Just out of pure curiosity, she can't fall asleep. Who is this Tarzen person? Why is he making such an impression on her that's causing her insomnia? She glanced at her great sword not far away from her bed. For the first time in a while, she's confused. Confused about what she needs to do. She wants to know more about him, but she also has the duty of taking the student console down. One is her current curiosity and another one is her current life goal; it's about avenging her family and their lost honors.

Eula is a stubborn one or one that does whatever she sets her mind to. She can't let this person get tangled in her mind. So, she decides to approach Trazyn, study him and eventually bring him down along with the Terras.

On the second day, Eula arrives at the school unusually early. She wants to record everything Trazyn does in a day. That way she will know more about this person. But instead of seeing Trazyn she sees Minka acting suspiciously. Eula stopped for a few seconds and decided to make a call, she told one of her most trusted servants to come to the school immediately and follow Minka. As for her, she's going to stay for Trazyn. But after a few more hours, the class is about to start, Trazyn is still nowhere to be found. Instead of waiting longer, she decided to go to the classes.

When school is nearly finished, Trazyn is still nowhere to be found. Eula is a bit disappointed, but she thought that the servant probably had some interesting information about Minka. She calls the servant, but the phone call is not being answered. She tried a few more calls but the servant was still not answering. This is the part when she thought something went wrong.

Eula activates the tracking system in all servants' phones and starts locating the location. Not after long, she located a signal source which is in a park not far away from the Lorance mansion. She runs in and looks around, eventually, she arrives in a small wood camp. Not a lot of people came here because the tree branches are all over the ground, so it is hard to move freely. She called the servant again and this time she could hear the ringtone. It was from somewhere behind her. She walks towards the source, but she only sees the phone on the ground.

Suddenly the wind blew, and a bit of strange liquid dripped on top of her head. She wipes it out of reflex and sees blood. Eula feels the chillness rooted from her spin and slowly looks up. There, that servant of hers is being hung on the tree. From the color on her face, it looks like it has been for hours. Eula leaned on the tree and puked out of shock. After a few more minutes, she finally got back on her feet and used her sword to cut down the rope. Out of sadness and respect, she gets rid of her cloak and slowly covers the body. She sits beside a tree and covers her face with her hands. She sobs because even every day she thought about killing the Terras but when reality hits her like a truck, she finally breaks down.

On the other side of the city, Minka just bought dinner for Trazyn. She wants to cultivate a nice dinner manner for Trazyn, because this is something that Monika taught her a long time ago, and if Trazyn is going to have a date with Monika then this is something obligatory: "Dad, what do you want to eat? I've got red meat and some veggie for salad. But we can always go to the fancy restaurant around the corner."

"Fine, by me. But dear Minka, why did you wash your uniform and gloves? Isn't it a school day today? I had to call in sick because I was preparing for the vault." Trazyn looks at the hanging school uniform curiously.

"Oh, I fell on the ground while leaving the school. So, I came back and changed, and then I went to the grocery store." Minka replied without hesitation.

"What about your gloves? You only wear them while fighting if I remember correctly."

"Dad, I am a girl with a soft hand! I wear gloves on multiple occasions." Minka apparently didn't like this line of questioning.

"Alright, you said you wanna teach me some dinner table manners? I am ready." Seeing Minka didn't want to talk about it, then Trazyn just gave up on pursuing the question.

"Stop!" Minka halts Trazyn with her hand: "First, you need to change. You dress like you work in a funeral parlor. It's too dark. Wear something more… colorful like blue."

"But I only have this," Trazyn replied blankly.

"Hmmmm." Minka rubs her chin with her index finger and thumb: "I guess, we will fix that later. Let's go to the restaurant first."

"You don't seem to be on your best… performance. You sure about you wanna do this?" Trazyn asks awkwardly.

"Performance ? I am not a machine, but I am a bit tired. However, it doesn't affect practicing." Minka wears a jacket, at this point, her and Monika's only difference is probably their hair color. Minka quickly ties up her ponytail and puts on her shoes. Looks like she's up to something besides going out for dinner.

Trazyn's gaze is fixed on Minka's back, it is rather a strange feeling. It is rare for him even to feel anything, but this feeling is similar to the silence before a storm. He doesn't know what's going on but even if there's a storm falling upon him, he has the confidence to fight it off.

At the restaurant, Minka finds a corner seat and sits straight. It is weird to pretend to be your mom and train your dad for dating techniques: " Alright, what do you say now?"

"Hello, Ms. Terra. Thank you for coming out with me. It really made my day by you answering yes. Sorry, if I sounded a bit different than before, I am chatty when nervous." Trazyn said without changing expression.

"This is…. Too long. Also, you don't need to say that you are nervous."

"Good evening, it was nice of you to come. Hope you are hungry because this restaurant is really nice."

"Not bad, leading the conversation and straight to the point." Minka clears her throat: " Thank you for inviting me for dinner. It is nice to finally have a place where we can finally chat."

"You think Monika will say that?"

"I can see her do that. Also, I am teaching you. So shh." Minka made a shushing noise to Trazyn.

"Oh? I didn't think I left such an impression on you." Trazyn quickly came back to his character

"You kidding? When we first met, you did great while helping me to pass the pointless pamphlet." Minka giggles: "Sorry, I broke my character, let us just continue."

"I always thought it is good to encourage people to stick to what they believe in."

"This is why I invited you to join the console. It is rare to find people like this when everyone just gives up on their lives." Minka is using this opportunity to poke on Trazyn's nerve, but he didn't seem to be affected by it.

"You are too kind; I always believe this is something that everyone would do."

Minka looks at Trazyn in a seducing way: "Say…" she gulps: " When are we going to eat? I am getting hungry."

"Oh, I am so sorry, I completely forgot we are here to eat." Trazyn asks: "Are you sure Monika would say this?"

"Definitely, or you are just planning to talk with her while making sure she suffered enough." Minka frowns: "Also I am hungry! Daddy, I want food!" Minka acts like a kid.

"So.. what do you want to eat? Any preferences?" Trazyn leans forward a bit.

Minka plays along: "Hm…. I am a vegetarian, so I might go with the vegetarian option. But don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less about the animal slaughtering part. It's just the meat footprint is a bit too high these days, and I don't want to contribute to that."

"Minka, are you sure you want to be vegetarian?"

"Of course not! I am not mad. I think I'll take a one-kilogram steak."

"Oh, you want to share it?"

"Did I say anything about sharing?" Minka's expression looks very menacing: "But mom likes veggies, remember that."

Trazyn ordered a fish steak and a glass of wine: "So… how's the food?"

Minka is gorging the steak: "Decent, but I'd like a more mashed potato if possible." She swallows the food in her mouth: "Don't have to worry about mom's opinion on food. She can't even tell the difference between cabbage and lettuce from the taste. Her taste buds are basically rotten because of all of those rose cakes she's eaten."

"I don't know if I should say this but…. Minka you've put on some weight…"

Minka stops carving the meat and looks up slowly: "Do not talk to me about my weight ever again. I know how to control it and I am doing just fine." Trazyn never expected Minka would be able to make a simple sentence sound like the last word he would never hear in this life.

"Alright, alright I am sorry." Trazyn chuckles, he finds that Minka is such a quirky character. But then he finds something that doesn't seem right. There are too few people at the restaurant at this hour and he can see more people emerging on the street. Some of them are even carrying heavy weapons: "Minka.."

"I know dad. I see them as well. Five at the front door, two are covering the back door. There's another sniper across the street. I think above us, there's six more. Just let me finish my food first, I am almost done." The Minka tone didn't even flinch.

The door suddenly opens, a woman with a great sword on her back enters and walks directly towards Minka and Trazyn: "Minka Infinite." Her voice is calm, yet the killing intent is not easy to hide: "You are now under arrest for third-degree murder and cruelty to mankind!" Eula pulls out her great sword, it is only a few inches away from slicing Minka's head off.

Minka is cutting the last few pieces of meat: " Before you arrest me, would you please let me finish my meal? Or you are just gonna kill me."

Eula scoffs: " You? We are going to kill you both, now get up, I don't want to stain this restaurant."

"What did we do? I would love to know the reason before I die." Minka is still acting relaxed as if the sword pointing at her doesn't exist.

"Don't play dumb with me! You killed one of my most loyal servants! She has children!" Eula doesn't sound very stable.

"Ah, you mean that woman. She didn't really put up with a fight. Before I strangled her, she was begging for life. But she messed with the wrong woman, much like you." Minka leans back on the chair and looks up in a taunting way.

Eula's hand is shaking, she swings her blade in full strength and strikes at Minka's head. But her blade was stopped by Trazyn. He just simply pinched the edge of the blade: " I am sorry to cause you trouble. I hope we can resolve you in peace."

Eula activates her ability and Trazyn's hand is frozen on the blade: "Now you die too!" Eula pulls off the sword from Trazyn's pinch. Normally it was a human, she would've pulled their whole arm off with that strength. But Trazyn just patted away the remaining ice flakes on his hand.

Everyone else that came with Eula points their weapon at these two: "If you don't want to come then, we will settle it here. On my mark… Fire!" Eula called. But instead of seeing bullets shredding these two into dice, their weapon suddenly exploded on the spot, consequently killing half of Eula's people.

Minka yawns: "Anything more? I feel tired now. If you want to finish the job, then just do it."

Eula is still in shock: "What job?"

"Oh, I am not talking to you." Minka points at Trazyn: "I was talking to him."

Trazyn's eyes start glowing as if he's activating something. Soon, his body starts glowing, the light is so bright that it even surpasses the sun at the end. But soon the glowing stopped. Eula is sitting on the ground and doesn't know what just happened. She looks around and sees all of her men have just vanished. Instead, there are only a few piles of ash on the ground.

Minka slowly walks in front of Eula and crouches down to be on the same eye level as Eula: "I told you, you should've solved this in a peaceful way. Sending people to follow me? What did you think I was?" She then slaps Eula hard: " The Lorence bloodline will end here!"

Trazyn holds Minka's hand: " Minka, that's enough. You don't kill people because they are your enemy. You kill their soul and make sure that they would never dare even come near you ever again. Then make them live and tell others about it."

"Thanks, Dad, I thought you were telling me to be good. Thank you for not trying to make me a better person." Minka winks: "Then, I know exactly what to do." Minka's eyes start glowing in golden light. After a few more seconds, Eula lost all of her strength and just twitched helplessly to the ground. Her eyes lost all of the light, just looking like an empty husk.

"The nerves of those people." Trazyn shakes his head: "What did you do?"

"I changed her memory and made her the killer of these people. I think she will now live in sorrow for the rest of her life." Minka smiles.

"I liked that very much." Trazyn pats her head.

It might seem strange that Minka and Trazyn are somewhat closer than when he was with Monika. The reality is that Trazyn is the type of person that values more than what he created. Minka is a perfect genetically constructed being. In her world, her father designed her gene by sacrificing thousands to experiment. So, before she was even born, blood was spilled already.

"Hey, dad. Just a question: Do you swear a lot?" Minka asks innocently.

"What kind of question is this? But I don't, because there's no need for me to. Unless I am extremely upset or frustrated." Trazyn frowns a bit.

"I was just curious because I am not known for swearing a lot." Minka smirks: "But it was a nice dinner, I know bragging after a fight isn't very good for you, but it's been a while since I can kill people without too many consequences."

"I thought you were a good girl or something."

"I am! But I am not known for being the nicest person as well." Minka scowled at Trazyn: " You know. I really like this daughter and father team." Minka looks a bit upset.

"What's wrong?" Trazyn asks.

"..." Minka just gazed into Trazyn's eyes: "Nothing, really. I just hoped that my own father could be like you once in his life."
