"I can't wait to have our children. I love you Trazyn."
"So do i."
At a remote location, a woman with all-white facial hair lays on Trazyn bare-bodied. Seems like a moment ago, they were doing some intimate interaction with each other. Her face is bright red, she's almost half asleep at this point. She kept running her finger across Trazyn's chest as if drawing some kind of rite.
"Glissa is going to take your head if she knows that you kept me hidden in your castle."
"My destiny is already foretold. And part of it is with you."
"Your destiny is about a girl who has red hair and green eyes? The one that will kill you?"
"You don't have to worry about it, you are the love of my life and nothing in this world will take you away from me. Besides, I've already ordered my men to kill anyone that fits with the description. Regardless of age." She smiles in a spine-chilling way. She then climbs out of bed and snaps her finger. In an instant, she's in a long black dress. It looks both mysterious and fitting for her, both body-wise and personality-wise: "I'd love to stay with you longer my love, but I need to go join the meeting of the war console. Don't worry our secret will be safe with me~"
"Lanaya?"
"Yes ?"
"Please stay safe."
"I will, just for you."
Lanaya snaps her finger again and becomes a wave of butterflies. Seeing she's gone. Trazyn leans back at the bed and starts transforming his consciousness. He's trying to find his mechanical body's location. Which is under a mountain somewhere in the far west of the continent. He was smashed by a mountain during the last fight while facing Glissa's army. His body should regenerate due to the necrodermis property, but it will take longer due to the damage, and he needs to find where it is at first place because his consciousness got instantly transformed into his human body which was under Monika's basement. This will take long.
After the 'seven hours war,' they teleported the planet to an unknown star sector, magically it somehow retained the biological system on the planet. Naturally, the whole planet vanished from imperial space and somehow Trazyn could not contact the solemnance gallery as well. This means that Trazyn only has a few backups on this planet, so at some point, it means that he only has a few chances of actually dying. And right now, his most powerful form is somewhere underground. He's frustrated. He started to regret that instead of waiting for Monika, he shouldn't have charmed his way to the right-armed man of Glissa.
It's been three weeks and he got absolutely nothing about how their magic works or any useful information. Instead, he's like a play toy for Lanaya the witch. Naturally as an overlord himself, he's not proud of that at all. But what more could he lose? Monika's location is still unknown, Nova sacrificed herself for the sake of the imperial soldiers. Sure, he sent Ria Ivor to find Monika but is she really trustworthy? She might be a spy for Glissa in the first place. All of these events are driving him insane. Thinking back, so many things have gone wrong, and if he can contact Orikan he might be able to change the course of the future. But all of it is just imagination unless they can find the solution for communication.
Seeing Lanaya is still not back, Trazyn decides to pay a visit to Minka. He sits on a chair making sure he will not slip by accident and closes his eyes. He hid Minka under the antique store, in there he's an antiquity seller and examiner, in the basement the wounded Minka is still asleep. During the '7 hours war' they released a magic blast that caused the death of millions of psyker on this world, only the extraordinary ones have survived, but at the cost of either having their power completely removed or falling into an unending sleep. Minka is the second case. Nova was the first case. Trazyn takes out the power extractor which was given by Orikan. He's been thinking about doing this for a long time, taking away Minka's crimson daemon power and giving it to Orikan. But after seeing how much she did for him and Monika, he dropped the thought. Even when he was a Necron he still had family, but he forgot about them a long time ago. This 'daughter' of his is indeed an extraordinary person. Something he never thought would happen to him.
Trazyn wanted to experiment with something, Nova didn't fall asleep after the blast but got her power removed. Then there should be a correlation between it. As he tried to stab the extractor on Minka's shoulder, his hand stopped. He can't risk it. Not to her. Seeing this, he just spoon-fed some essential food to Minka and sat by her. She's really quiet while she's sleeping. Which is different when she's in her usual self.
He gently uses his hand to brush Minka's orangish hair, all these times of living as a human made him learn better about various things. Parental love is one of them. He understands why humans will spend so much time raising their descendants. Seeing your creation become something extraordinary does give some sense of accomplishment.
Suddenly his mind snapped back into the body in the castle. Lanaya is back, and she's giving a deep kiss to Trazyn's mouth. Suddenly Trazyn woke up and startled her a bit.
"I thought you were asleep. This is so embarrassing." Lanaya covers her face with her hands.
"I did wake up because of your kissing." Trazyn is still so good at lying.
Lanaya is happy about the answer. She swings her snow-white hair with her hands and tries to brush away the pink color on her face. This is not how a court witch should present herself: "Are you ready?"
"Ready for what?" Trazyn is still adjusting his memory events.
"Did you forget about it? Aww, I was so excited about it. I even left the meeting early just for you." A shine of playful unhappiness shines from her face. She holds Trazyn's hand and brings him under a basement.
Trazyn enters the basement half confused, he's sure that he never promised anything to Lanaya. But when he enters the main hall, he's stunned by the view in front of him. He sees dozens of human bodies hanging from the ceiling and none of them has a life signal anymore. From this view, it seemed like they were all tortured to death. From their expression, Trazyn can tell that they were relieved that their nightmare was finally over.
Trazyn also did human experiments before, for the sake of understanding them as a species. But this is different, this was for joy. And the culprit is standing right beside him and holding his hand. But he didn't show any external expression whatsoever. After all it takes way more to scare a person like Trazyn.
"Why did you take me here?" Trazyn asks.
"You really forgot about it? It's about that." Lanaya points her finger at a crucified human on the wall at the very back: " That is a real god-slayer unit." She looks very proud of her work: "As one of the best antique collectors this world has to offer, I bet you know what I'm talking about."
Of course, he knew, he even had a coffee with her before the war. Is this where you've gone to? Monika was finding you across the continent, ever since Nova died. Not because she wants you to fight again but because you are her best friend. Trazyn is a bit zooming out which made Lanaya a bit jealous.
"Stop staring at her!" Lanaya waves her hand in front of Trazyn: "Are you fascinated because of the god slayer or the fact that she doesn't have any clothes on?"
"Do you know that the god slayer unit needs to be stored in an enclosed crypt that keeps her at the maximum body efficiency? That body's a shell, a shell that contains incredible power. If you break it, who knows if it will cause something like one of those antimatter blasts." Trazyn said with a serious tone.
Lanaya blinks: "I never heard of it. So, you are saying we should keep her well-rested until we find a way to utilize her power? But torture is so much more fun, you should hear her screams, classic music I'd say." Lanaya giggles. It seems like this is more than a job for her. This is entertainment: " By the way, those explosions, we call them void-outs, you should refer them in their specific terms."
Trazyn can't say is horrified but he's definitely feeling uncomfortable around this woman. He's not in his prime form now so he can't just fight her. At least after so long of infiltration he finally made some progress.
"Trazyn." Lanaya's voice broke Trazyn's thought: "You wanna go get a coffee and talk about the god slayer unite? Like a date." Lanaya smiles irresistibly as if every single body moving from her is casting a spell.
Trazyn replied with a nod. He needed to find a place to contact the resistance anyways. He didn't join them because he wanted to fight back in his own way. This planet's faith has nothing to do with him. It's just the Phrexians are bothering him, and he needs all the help he could get.
Lanaya snapped her finger and suddenly both of them appeared in the middle of the central square. Their sudden appearance also scared some locals. Trazyn using one hand holding on to Lanaya, he's still not used to magic teleportation. It makes him feel dizzy. Which results in a weakened knee.
Lanaya giggles, she likes it when Trazyn isn't in his usual state. It makes him look cute, at least this was from her perspective. After Trazyn feels a bit better they sit in the back garden of the cafe. A court witch always has her privileges.
"Trazyn~ can I ask you some questions?" She has an evil grin on her face: "Did you have any relationship before?"
"No… you are my first." Trazyn pretends to look shy: "Maybe also my last."
"Aww, stop it." Lanaya is wiggling like a dancing snake. She's very pleased with his answer: "For a human, you are not bad at all. I like it~" She sips her milk tea: "I've been alive for thousands of years, no matter what world I was in, I've met someone like you. A human that has the knowledge to understand all and is so similar to me..."
"What are we so similar to each other?"
"Can't you tell? We both are a seeker of ultimate knowledge. I want to know everything! And right now, what I want to know is…" She holds her cheeks with her hands: "I want to know, how-"
"Your coffee, Sir." A waiter's voice broke Lanaya's mood. Before he even realized it, he had already become a maggot crawling on the ground.
"The people in this world have no sense of politeness and timing." She picks up the maggot and puts it in her mouth. It made a crunchy sound when she chewed on it.
Trazyn is trying to understand the source of Lanaya's power but even in such close range the effect apparently is instantiated. Even he watched the replay a thousand times already. But he needs to carry on the conversation to find out what Lanaya wants: "You were asking for something."
"I wanted to ask… how did you know about the god-slayer unit? It's a top-secret even for the old imperium. I'd like to know how you know about it as a civilian." Lanaya's expression didn't change, the smug expression is still cooling the air around them.
Trazyn's brain is working at hyper speed. This is the question to determine his fate. He needed to think of an airtight answer: " I used to work for the special operation in the imperium. Nova Terra was my superior."
Lanaya's expression darkens: " Nova Terra." She crosses her fingers in front of her nose: "The hero of imperium?"
"The hero of imperium? How ? She sacrificed herself to save the whole regiment. She couldn't do more" Trazyn pretended he didn't understand the meaning of the darkened expression.
"That's the name the resistance gave her. They are operating underground, to be honest, they are not a threat but recently they've been starting to get on our nerves. Sorry, it's about work... This could be a date but now the mood is ruined." Lanaya sips her tea again, looking a bit downed.
"Screw them." Trazyn said it loudly: "I never liked them anyway."
Lanaya giggles: " I hope everyone was like you. Glissa is not a cruel ruler, it is just we didn't have anywhere to go after the whole planet was trashed by the praetors. Can you do me a favor?" she asks.
"Anything for you, my love."
"Can you keep your eyes on someone called: KV. He or she has been noticed by our agents and they were responsible for the attack of the military camp outside of the Unity city."
"I will, just for you." Trazyn holds Lanaya's hand. He's finally getting somewhere with the whole infiltration thing. Now he just needs to find that KV person so he could probably utilize their power to help him to contact Solemnace and lead a full-scale planetary invasion. He's already sick of it. Living as a human sucks. He would only do this for Monika but anything else? Not a chance.
Monika tries her hardest to pull Ria out from the pit, just this little move already made her breathing hard. In the past few days, she discovered that not only she cannot use her crimson daemon ability, but her enhanced strength was gone as well. At this very point, she's no different than a young normal-born girl. She still has combat skills but most of them depend on her enhanced ability in the first place. This is why she can't just jump between trees like she used to, and she gets exhausted if they continue advancing for more than two hours straight.
"Never thought you would have days like this." Ria leaning on a tree teasingly looks at Monika. Her short white hair wavering in the wind looks stunning from a distance.
Monika is of course not happy about her current state. But instead of wasting her energy fighting with Ria, she has better things to do: "Can you tell me everything that happened in the past few months? My memory is still a void during that time period."
"You poor creature, I don't hear the magic word." Ria is making a teasing face.
Monika's eyes are still fierce but soon she looks down and sits on the ground while hugging her knees: "P... Please."
Ria didn't expect Monika would respond like this, to be honest, this is making her feel down as well. Normally, teasing Monika is one of her favorite things to do but it is not fun when Monika is actually depressed. She then sits next to her and puts her arm on Monika's shoulder: " We tried our best." Ria paused: "Even a non-magic user like me when I came to this world, I suddenly realized the increase of my power. Needless to say, when people like Glissa and Traxxes. It was just within a few minutes that they realized their power and thus started to act on it. You were at the black praetor's hideout. At least this is what I heard from Trazyn, he was with you there. When you were there the black praetor was already dead, hanging on the ceiling like a fourth-dimension art. But I'm sure Trazyn exaggerated that. Anyways apparently it was done by Glissa, she was sitting on the throne looking down on you. Then she gave you a proposal: Join her. And knowing you, you would never say yes. So, there was the fight. Trazyn was buried under a mountain, and you lost the fight against Glissa. She threw you off a cliff and god knows how you survived it."
"What about Nova? How did she...?" She gulps: "How did she..." she couldn't hold it anymore, tears coming out from her eyes like a broken water pipe. Her body is shaking like a phone in vibrating mode.
Ria gently pats Monika on the head: "It's ok…. I will not tell anyone if you cry... Just cry as loud as you can. Nova was a hero. A hero that should be remembered and honored. She didn't die in vain, she died for all of us. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't because of her. You would've-" Ria suddenly stopped at mid-sentence. But Monika didn't notice the sudden stop. She wants to tell her the second part but seeing Monika is in her condition it is better to not let her know everything.
After a few minutes of crying, Monika wipes her face. Her eyes are still red, but she can at least get back on her feet: "Hey Ria." She said it while looking shy: "Thank you... For being here for me..."
"Aww, you look so cute!" Ria rubs her face on Monika's cheek: "Please say more of these things! I can be your sister if you want!"
"I hate you already…" Monika tries to escape but Ria is like super glue, at the end she just gives up and lets Ria do whatever she wants. She owns her after all. Monika feels like a prostitute at some point, using her body to comfort a person. Or maybe she's thinking a bit too much.
"Hey, maybe I can introduce Minka to a guy. He's nice and handsome. I bet you'll like him." Ria winks.
If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
"You do know that Minka is older than me, right? She can make her own decision…" Monika doesn't feel like engaging in such a conversation.
"How does it feel to be visited by your own daughter? I never met Minka, but I bet she's more loose than you." Ria then spanks Monika on the butt.
"YOU!... Stop being weird! That's disgusting!" Monika's mind somehow is dirtier than before, is it because of Trazyn? Or is she just finally grown up?
"But seriously tho, how did it go the first time meeting your own daughter?" Ria clears her throat, she's having too much fun. Who knows, a simple escort mission can be this entertaining. She can understand why Trazyn likes Monika.
"It's hard to explain… But I'd say it went pretty well." Monika laughs faintly: " At first, I thought Traz and her were in a relationship and I got jealous…"
"Really?! Tell me more !"
"We sort of got into a fight and hurt her feelings... But in the end, it went well."
"You are such a bad mom."
"I didn't know! Who would've known that? But she's kind and smart. Something that I don't really have..."
"You are giving yourself too little credit. Trust me, you are one of the nicest people around." Ria lightly taps Monika's shoulder: "You raised her for sure. I believe it."
"Thanks... That's really nice to hear. Speaking of which, why don't we fix someone with you?" Now it's Monika's turn. Monika is having her smile back.
"I don't really like the men in the army... They are not my type." Ria tries to dodge the question.
"Do you know Anton Thorn? You know, Maverick's brother. He looks like your type. Brown hair, nice side beard, and really deep voice." Monika purposely lowered her voice.
Ria giggles: "Stop... This is too funny. But thank you, I have my own taste of man. If you don't shut up, I'll take Trazyn."
Monika's face is turning red: "So mean!"
At this current stage, they are around three days away from Trazyn's current location.
"Keep up! You are causing us to be behind schedule." Elaria is leaning on the wall of a ruined building. She's gloating. The smugness on her face is punchable.
Kira is climbing up from a ledge: "Would it be nice if you can lend me a hand you know?"
"Naaaa, you need to train those muscles. Look at your noodle arms, they are flopping when you are walking." Elaria points to Kira's arms with her finger.
"That's because I don't have any augments. Stop being mean! We are a team!" Kira is too tired to climb up.
"Shorty."
"You tall mean monster!" They both stare at each other like two angry dogs.
Suddenly they heard some footsteps from the floor below, Kira quickly pulls out her bio-tracker, she sees three slow-moving signatures coming for them. Elaria signals Kira to hide while she stands in the middle of the room waiting for them.
As the footsteps get closer, the ground starts to shake for a bit. Not for long, they found Elaria who's sitting in the middle of the room on top of a table. Their eyes suddenly turn red and their low howling indicates that this being was a life form once.
"Come and get me." Elaria pulls out her long sword, the silverish light is blinding.
The phyrexian hulk starts charging towards Elaria directly without hesitation, this is why they have been released in this area. To destroy any survivors.
Elaria's stance is stable, she's not flinching. When the hulks are within her attack range, her sword slashes through one hulk as if cutting through a piece of butter. As the second one tries to grab her, she ducks by sliding through the floor and arrives in front of the third hulk. She immediately leaps up and stabs her sword in its head. All of this happened within two seconds.
The second one immediately turns and swings its fist at Elaria, but just a few centimeters before it actually hits her, the hulk suddenly froze into a statue: "You need to be more careful; those c-foam grenades don't grow on trees." Kira shouts.
Elaria lightly pushes the frozen statue and it shattered into pieces as it hits the floor: "All those talks, maybe you should take care of the other two instead of taking down the one that I am going to kill anyways. I can still regen even though I got stabbed in my heart."
"That's not how any of these things work. We are a team, and we need to take care of each other." Kira reloads her grenade launcher again; her arm strength doesn't really allow her to throw a grenade at perfect precision.
"Oh, shut up shortly. I didn't want to bring you anyways; it was you who begged to come with me. If you talk one more time, I will let Anton keep you in the HQ for the rest of your remaining life." Elaria sweeps the glistening oil off her sword. And put it back in her holster.
Kira is mad, but she doesn't want to go back to the HQ. It is true that she voluntarily joined the elimination squad, but part of the reason is that she wanted to help Erin to find where Noel went. For the next few hours, they are just being completely silent with each other and not engaging in any talks.
While they are making dinner, Elaria accidentally cuts her finger, there's barely any change of expression but the blood is dripping on the floor. She's examining it as if she feels no pain. Then she puts her bleeding finger inside her mouth and starts sipping on it.
"You really shouldn't do that…" Kira holds the bowl of soup in her hands, she's looking at Elaria in a concerning way. To be honest, she's terrified, she's heard rumors about the living weapon that was developed by the imperium, and Elaria was one of them.
Elaria looks up with a scary look: "Why do you even care?" She takes out her finger and it is completely healed.
"I guess because we are a team?... Ms. Vermillion always said that when we worked together." Kira looks down at her soup.
"You know Noel ? Is this why you signed up for this mission?" Elaria asks.
Kira nods, she didn't tell Elaria because she thought involving personal feelings in a mission is forbidden.
"I met her around a year ago. Nice person. But weak." Elaria takes a bite of the weird-looking bird in the stew.
"She isn't weak, she's just too kind."
"Yea, weak."
"You…." Kira stands up and puts her soup aside, she points her finger at Elaria: "You do not talk bad about her!"
"Or what?" Elaria's eye is as cold as the frozen river in the northern glacier.
"I will fight you."
"I can kill you with one hand." Elaria also stands up; Kira is only around her chest height. But her eyes are full of determination: "You and Noel are on the same level, weaklings that pretend to care about anything in their life. If I were you, I would just stand at the frontline and end my miserable life." A slap from Kira stopped Elaria from talking: "As I said, weak." She didn't even change her expression from that slap.
Elaria then pushes Kira to the ground with one push, Kira stands up and leaps at Elaria. She managed to get a few punches on Elaria, but it didn't do anything. Elaria grabs Kira by the hair and lifts her up from the ground. Kira struggles in pain but she manages to wrap her legs around Elaria's arm and then separate each other with a kick. It somehow also dislocated Elaria's arm.
"Nice trick." Elaria seemed to be a bit impressed with what Kira did. But soon after a cracking noise, Elaria's arm went back to normal.
Kira is still looking at Elaria with a hateful gaze, just as she is about to strike again, Elaria grabs Kira by the neck and drops her on the ground: "I hate you!" Kira shouts.
Elaria pulls out her sword and starts walking towards Kira, she then slashes. But I wasn't for Kira, Elaria noticed there was a blighted agent on top of the tree. Maybe it was Kira's shout that drew him here. Ignoring Kira's tearful eyes, Elaria grabs Kira by her arm and carries her on her back, and starts dashing away. Their location was already exposed, they needed to move or be dead.
On the back, Elaria could feel the warm teardrop from Kira. Was she sorry? For her she probably didn't even understand why Kira was crying, everything she said was true but why Kira would react like this. After running for about 10 mins, they finally stopped.
Kira's eyes are still red and facing away from Elaria while crossing her arms. She's not talking but even a fool can tell what she's mad about.
Elaria could also tell, instead of just telling her to stop being a bitch. Elaria remembered something Ria told her not long ago: Not everyone is like her, maybe she should try to be a bit nice. That is of course she cares about him/her. Elaria gently puts her hand on Kira's shoulder and turns her: " Hey… I am sorry for what I said. Maybe I was being a bit too harsh."
Kira turns, her blue eyes still tearful: "And?"
Elaria's bad temper is about to blaze but she decides to be nice for once: "I shouldn't have said those bad things about you and Noel."
"And?"
"Listen here you…" Elaria takes a deep breath: "I shouldn't have called you a shorty."
"And lastly?" Kira points at her messy hair.
"I shouldn't have pulled your hair during the fight; it was my bad for playing dirty."
"Thank you." Kira finally wipes away her tears and acts normal again. There was a small unnoticeable grin on her face.
"It felt like eternity saying all of that." Elaria confesses.
"I am glad that you finally started caring about other people's feelings." Kira brushes her hair, but it still hurts like hell.
"I'll do it for you." Elaria takes the hairbrush from Kira's hand and starts brushing her beautiful black hair. The reason she did it was because it looked fun, and she never really does her hair anyways despite the length. It just never really gets entangled due to genetic modification.
"Ouch, you are pulling it too hard!"
"This is fun." Elaria is more like playing with the hair instead of actually brushing it properly: "Should I do a knot on your hair?"
"NO."
"Should I probably make you a new bang?"
"NO, please don't do that."
"Maybe I should cut your hair shorter, you know to not get grabbed during a fight."
"No, please… Can you please give me back the hairbrush?"
"Not a chance." Elaria is having fun, who would've known a 1.8 m tall woman who was built as a super soldier in fact loves to play with teenagers' hair.
Just as they are having fun with each other, they suddenly hear a dropping noise under a tree next to them. Elaria pulls out her sword in an instant and starts approaching slowly, Kira also pulls out her assault rifle and stays behind Elaria.
It is strange, because there's no proceeding noise coming after the drop. Elaria gives a hand sign to Kira to stand on her position as she approaches the noise. As Elaria checked the bush, she suddenly realized something. When she turns a woman with brown hair and has a similar look as Nova already has her weird looking pistol pointing at Kira's head.
"Not a single step or i will blow her head right off." Her voice is clear and familiar.
Kira turns her head a bit upward to have a look at the aggressor, as she looks at the woman her voice is a bit shaking: "Ms. Monika?"
Hearing that name, the brown-haired woman looks at Kira but at this moment Elaria strikes with her sword. But it was blocked by her gun.
Elaria covers Kira and says it with an aggressive tone: "Who the hell are you? Why do you look like Nova?"
That woman's green blue eyes are shining in the dark, her gun transformed into a long rifle that's pointing at both of them: "Who the hell are you? Why do you recognize Nova and Monika?"
"We are imperial soldiers that are sent here due to a mission." Kira replies and she signs Elaria to put her sword away.
"Who are you?" Her tone is less aggressive but she's still not trusting them.
"My name is Kira Vatrix and this is Elaria."
The brown hair woman suddenly puts her gun away: "Sergeant?... Is that really you? Sergeant Kira?" Her voice is a bit shaking.
"I am not a sergeant... You must recognize the wrong person."
"No… it can't be… I can't believe that I would see you again." She's talking to herself and steps out of shadow: "My name is Emilia Terra."
"Terra? As… Monika Terra?" Kira is very confused because she never knew Monika had another younger sister.
"Yes, i am her daughter. We met before. But it was in another timeline." Emilia seemed to be very happy to see Kira.
"Shut up!" Elaria points her sword at Emilia: "Those are lies, why would you even tell us that? Is that a trick?"
"I am not your enemy, soldier. I've already dropped my weapon, if that didn't tell you anything then i don't know what else is going to." Emilia steps closer but Elaria is still full of aggressiveness.
"Elaria, wait! She said she knows about me in the future. Then, what is the secret that I never told anyone but you?" Compared to Elaria, Kira's head is very clear.
Emilia has a grin on her face: "You hug a pink teddy bear while you are sleeping."
"Wait, is that true?" Elaria turns her head at Kira. And Kira's face is bright red. Elaria then burst into laughter.
"You want more?" Emilia asks.
"Yes, please." Elaria is still laughing hard.
"NO! Please don't say more of those embarrassing things." Kira covers her face.
"Sergeant Kira apparently has a crush on-" Emilia's sentence got cut off by Kira's sudden scream of embarrassment.
"You are the real deal. Please don't say more of those things..." Kira runs to Emilia and grabs her by the shoulders and waves her around.
"No, please I want to hear who she has a crush on." Elaria is wiping some tears off.
"It was Maverick." Emilia has an evil grin on her face.
"You two are unbelievable! Jerks!" Kira couches down and covers her face with her hands.
"Alright, alright. I'm sorry sergeant." Emilia pats Kira's shoulder from the back.
"Why are you calling Kira a sergeant? She's just a normal recruit." Elaria asks.
"She was my sergeant, she took care of us and led us out of the most brutal war zone." Emilia's face is full of respect: "She was a hero but never noticed."
Kira finally processed all of those emotions and stood back up, but her face was still red: "Why are you here?"
"I've been running away from the phyrexian after the seven hours war. Thankfully I ran into you guys…" Emilia suddenly loses her consciousness and drops on the ground with a smile.
Kira and Emilia immediately take her near the camp and start treating her. When they take off her clothes, there's wounds everywhere. It is still amazing that she still managed to evade an attack from Elaria and talk for so long. Elaria tells Kira to rest a bit before the escape at dawn while she's going to take care of Emilia.
Elaria doesn't require sleep even though she's a biological entity, the adjustment she has undergone already made her technically not a human. But experiencing human emotion for her is somewhat fascinating. There are so many things to learn and so many things to understand. She sits on the ground and puts Emilia's head on her lap, she recognizes that face. It looks just like Nova. For Elaria, the first thing she saw when her and Nova met was someone in pain. It might not be very obvious from the outside as Nova tends to have that confident smugness on her face at all times. But when she thinks nobody is looking at her, her grin fades away, her fists will clinch for unknown reasons, and what is left inside is just a hollow shell. Nova was meant to be a legend, and this means that she needs to endure more pain than any individual. Outside of her shiny achievements, it is built up by piles upon piles of body. This is probably why she cares about Monika so much that she would do anything for her. For her, her sister is her redemption.
Nova beat Elaria well during their limited time of being with each other. At first, she hated it, but after a while Elaria realized that the reason Nova did that to her is because she wants her to be as strong as possible. So, she can have the ability to protect herself and the others she cares about. At some point Elaria regrets that her and Nova were never on good terms with each other. But this is something that she only kept to herself.
The first light soon dawns on the three wanderers, Elaria opens her eyes, sure she doesn't require sleep to function but from time to time she finds out that meditation helps her to smooth her temper. Emilia is still laying her head on her lap, and Kira is already packing up her things and ready to depart.
Unlike others, Elaria lightly taps Emilia's forehead to wake her up. She greeted Emilia with a nod and supported her to stand up. Emilia is not specially enhanced like the rest of the Terra family, she's just a mortal human but so far, she's achieved more than most of the enhanced soldiers on the battlefield.
Emilia stretches her arms; her body is recovering but some parts are still stiff. But thanks to Elaria's thigh she at least got a really nice nap. Kira then approaches Emilia with a cuff link.
"Put this on. It will help you to detect some stray remnants." Kira said.
Emilia carefully inspected the cufflinks and put it on, it felt surprisingly comfortable: "This is some nice technology. Can't believe you guys can still make something like this."
"Yea, it's made a very smart man. Mr. Tarzen is a genius" They didn't know that person was Trazyn.
Emilia's face suddenly looks more shadeful than before. No one knows what her deal was with Trazyn, not even Minka. All of this happened after Minka time traveled. But for Emilia, she just can't forgive him, no matter what he did.
"Do you feel anywhere uncomfortable?" Kira asks in a concerning tone, she noticed the sudden change of Emilia's expression.
Emilia shakes her head: "I'm fine, it's just my wound is still hurting. But we are good to go." Emilia checks her service weapons and puts it back into the holster.
"Do you use any ammo with that weapon? Can't really help but notice that there's no magazine for it." Kira points her finger at Emilia's service weapon.
"It draws energy from the warp. It is not a really well-known prototype, even in the future." Emilia morphs the weapon into a rifle: "This weapon can become anything you want, but it will require a lot of practice and it consumes a lot of willpower to do so."
Kira is impressed with this weapon: "Who gave you this?"
"My mother."
"Ms. Monika ?"
Emilia nods, but this seemed to be a bothering memory for her. Clearly there were some unpleasant events involved regarding the origin of the weapon.
"What are you doing?" Monika gives Ria a repelling look.
Ria holds a contact lens case and a blond wig: "Girl, you need to change. I wouldn't do this but sadly they are witch hunting anyone that has red hair and green eyes. Which, frankly, looks exactly like you." She pouts in a strengthless way.
"But why blond hair and blue contact lenses? You are making me look exactly like Nova. You do know that we are twins, right?" Monika doesn't want to put on these ridiculous things.
"Oh, please. There are people who are blond and with blue eyes everywhere. Literally no one would give a damn about you. Also, you might want to wear one of those skirts, because your jacket is really attention drawing." Ria said.
"What do you mean?"
"Because it's the middle of summer, who in the world would wear some thick black jacket in the middle of summer?" Ria throws the skirt to Monika.
"I hate it." Monika frowns.
"Well, it's not really up to you, is it? It's either this or you are not leaving this room." Ria leans her back on the door, blocking the way.
Monika bits her lips, after ranting for a few minutes, she finally puts on the pink skirt Ria brought her: "I still don't understand why you are making me wear a pink skirt." She's blushing a bit.
"To make you look cuter, to be honest from the way you dress, you can't be more boring than anyone." Ria slips her word out smoothly.
"My fashion taste is fine, those jackets look good, and they are functional." Monika tries to pull the skirt down a bit more, even the slightest wind would reveal her underpants: "Quit looking! Can't you give me something that's less revealing?"
"Why are you not confident about your body? You are a minimum seven out of ten." Ria has a smug grin on her face.
"Because I don't want to? What more do you want?" If her outfit is already humiliating while inside the room, then how much would that be outside of the hotel? Monika is really shy when it comes to showing her body to outsiders.
Ria shakes her head in disappointment, she then throws Monika's clothes back to her: "You know, you are just wasting your talents. You'd make a great model. Hell, you would even become famous."
"I am a soldier. Why does everyone keep saying this? I am trying to prove my worth with my skills, but everyone could only see my face and body." One of the reasons Monika fell in love with Trazyn.
"With a personality like yours? You'd be off to becoming a prostitute." Ria for some reason isn't saying anything nice to Monika.
Monika swings her fist at Ria, but Ria just blocks her easily. Right now, Monika can't even fight an average thug physically. She then proceeded to grab Monika by her shoulder and push her on the bed. Monika tries to break through but she's too weak: "You think you have any room for negotiation when you are weak like this?" Ria said it loudly.
A teardrop came out of Monika's eyes. This is beyond humiliation. Her face is peach red, she feels so helpless and this is done by Ria. Monika eventually breaks down and starts crying.
Ria has a look of spite on her face and gets up from the bed, leaving Monika breaking into tears. Does Ria feel bad about her actions? Maybe. Ria has always been a rascal: "Stop crying, get dressed and let's leave. We should reach Trazyn tomorrow. Until then, cry as much as you want."
Monika isn't responding, she's still sitting on the bed sobbing. Seeing this, Ria finally takes a chair and puts it in front of Monika. She sits down and hands over a hand towel to Monika: "I am sorry…" Ria apologies: "My words might be too harsh, I'm just really not in the mood right now. The truth is… I am not really here because Trazyn asked me to. I was there searching for you because at some point you reminded me of a person I once knew. He was rebellious yet kind, just like you."
Monika wipes away the tears and looks at Ria in a bad way: "That doesn't sound like me at all." Monika pauses: "What happened to him?"
"He died, rather what he deserved. He died a warrior. If he could live, we might even make a great couple." Ria chuckles for her silliness.
"Why are you telling me about this?"
"No reason? Just want to vent something." Ria seemed a bit bothered: "You are a good person, Monika. Shame we couldn't be friends with each other before."
"I mean... We can always start being friends with each other, no?" Monika blinks with her big, beautiful eyes.
Ria grins and pats Monika's head: "Enough talking, let's get you to your man."
