Book Lost(2.5), Chapter 58 Whales and World Serpents

Kyrion’s clone was crushed in the arms of an eight-foot-tall man with a bald head, thick sideburns, and a large beard. His arms were as thick as a tree trunk. He spoke with a thick accent that Kyrion couldn’t place, although something about him seemed familiar. His dark skin almost reminded him of his father, while his hairiness and build were like his grandfather's. “Good to meet you! Vodraz, The Whale.”

The plant was turned into a green mush, much to Vodraz’s horror.

“Whale? I thought you'd be more like a wolf.” Kyrion appeared above ground two feet away.

“You know, daughter Bella? Good! Friend Bella, friend family!” Vodraz did connect this time. The squeeze, however, wasn’t as bad as the plant made it look, though the man was stronger physically than Volain, much to his own surprise.

“Bella’s family uses totems to transform. When they reach 18, they are allowed to go through a trial to attune to an animal that represents them personally. Though until then they are stuck with a basic wolf transformation. She is more akin to a natural druid than a were creature.”

“Wait…That doesn’t sound right.” Kyrion knew she was lying, but oddly enough I couldn’t see any obvious tells.

“You speak funny language, vegieman.”

“Kyrion, so why are you really called The Whale?”

“My real form bigger than blue whale. But still wolf.”

“Huh, that is pretty big for a native.”

“How big do you get?” His sister asked with a raised

“This is it, unless you’re asking how big I can get if I were to give up my humanity. In that case I would not care to find out.”

“So, how is little Bella?”

Kyrion brought his hand to his right ear, which while was shorter than him, still pretty tall. “It’s been around 5 years for her so she’s about this big. Very strong and can use a bit of magic.”

“Magic?”

“Something like this.” Kyrion wrote out some runes in the air and doubled gravity in the area.

One of the younger wolves was caught off guard and stumbled but aside from that, none of them seemed to react.

“Weak.”

“It’s not my field and I’m not trying to turn you into paste. These are runes not spells meaning I can’t alter them while they are being supplied with power.”

“That was spellcraft. Did Cecil teach you that?” Dwen asked.

“Yes, and no. We worked together for a while. My ability to pick up the basics and alter his work has led to him making a lab I can’t get into. As far as he knows, I am very impercice in anything that isn’t life and death.”

“Right. Right. You were always good at going places you shouldn’t be able to.”

“It’s my defining trait. How else do you think I got here while a practitioner.”

“How strong are you?” The Whale Wolf asked.

Kyrion sighed. “People are going to be pissed if they find out I could have done this right after it happened. To be fair, I actually couldn’t have due to a feat I performed prior leaving me drained. This should use quite a bit of my power.” Kyrion pointed to the sky.

“What are you?”

Kyrion let his power as a patron, his divine essence, and an ungodly amount of mana vanish through a tear in reality, causing everyone present to fall to their hands and knees—everyone except Dwen, who seemed surprised.

Kyrion reappeared thirty minutes later favoring his left arm and was exhausted. He looked about and then pointed to a green moon in the sky, twice as large as the previous one. It moved across the sky and found a position before fading as though an illumination spell assigned to it had been removed.

“You made a new moon?” Dwen squinted.

“Easy. Also aliens are real.” Kyrion dropped a sugared elf on the grass below.

Moments later a purple-haired woman in a butler suit stepped out of the portal holding a blue dog. Her golden eyes tracked the people present and she sniffed the air then scowled.

“These people all smell like Bella. I also smell a large amount of cooked meat radiating from them.”

“Cecil’s homeworld.” Kyrion replied.

“I thought he was saying stuff like that to sound cool or was from another of the moons.”

“Also know Bella?” The Whale wolf stated attempting to put a hand on Bella’s shoulder. He was quite friendly.

The purple-haired woman caught the wrist and scowled as it continued forward surpassing her strength. She eventually gave in. “Yeah, they are friends I believe. ”

“Did you just pull someone from our world here?” Dwen scowled.

“Yes, though it seems limited. I basically ripped half of her soul from her body.I have no regrets… I’m going to get Ander.” Kyrion rubbed his hands together.

“Master. What must I do next?”

“I’m thinking of making that little dragon a gift for Lin. I want him to be housebroken.”

“Dragons aren’t dogs.”

“That one in particular is. I know you aren't a dog and neither is… that snake.”

Kyrion let out a huff as he looked to the sky. Something changed between the land of the Lost and coming here. He was magnitudes more dangerous than before and wielded enough power to break his homeworld.

“Human child make moon? What are you?” Bella’s father asked.

“What language does he speak natively?”

“His clan came from Romania. He married into a native clan of werewolves about seven centuries ago.”

“Ah. Well then, making a moon is hard work. Let's get to eating.”

“You really have odd timing?”

“What do you mean?” Kyrion asked.

“Today is what they call Thanks and Giving.”

“But that's in two weeks.”

“Not for Werewolves. They celebrate the wednesday before the Full moon.” Dwen started with a raised eyebrow.

“Huh, so that they are full during forced transformations?”

“That’s how they remember it. The humans offered them food right before the full moon so that they were so stuffed that they didn’t eat people. Though the creatures that ate people were actually different monsters which the Werewolves hunted down.”

“They need a day like that back home.” The purple-haired woman stated.

“Uhh… Who is that there?” Dwen asked.

“Ceres. We’ll talk after dinner.”

“She smells like a dragon.” Dwen’s sclera turned black, as an ebony wand appeared in both of her hands.

Ceres took a step back as killing intent surrounded her very quickly.

“She’s my Charles.”

“Adopted daughter?”

“Charles was adopted? Huh…Ceres, are you adopted?”

“I’m a butler? Charles taught me many duties.”

“Oh, she’s a vassal.”

“The emergency food in her hands is also a vassal.”

“That’s a dog.”

“When are dogs blue? It’s an alien that looks like a dog at best. Wait…what is that thing you're doing with your eyes.” Kyrion stated.

“That's the Dragon Hunter state. It's a trait dragon slayers develop that allows us to detect and eliminate dragons. It also increases strength, perception, speed, mana control, magic output, and bloodthirst exponentially. But if used for extended periods it can break the body and increase the metabolism greatly. Every second burns around 500 calories. Drinking a dragon's blood ends the side effects, and is very high in calories.”

Kyrion smiled as he bent down to the small dog. “You really are emergency food. Ceres is family though. Also she’s half here. I kind of split her soul in half, bringing her here.”

“So you aren’t just manipulating blood vessels in your eyes then going all out.”

“Why do you ask?”

Kyrion’s sclera went black but nothing changed. “I knew Psycho’s went differently. But I couldn’t move right after. Food poisoning and a lack of calories. I was sick and starving. My regeneration also burns calories.”

“Wait… You’ve been fighting without using that and you’re giving off this aura?”

“It’s useless to me. Strength and speed, but I need to eat to offset it? Do you know how much I put down regularly?”

“I imagine a lot.”

“Correct. But I could use the appetite.” Kyrion stated, that now that he knew it was different he understood what he was missing and let the power in his blood flow through him like a torrent of power causing clouds to form above him as the sky darkened.

Rain began to fall from above as a beam of green light enveloped him. Burning his skin for a moment before turning blue, red, purple, gold, black, and ending at a platinum metallic hue.

Kyrion fell to a knee and covered his burned shell of a form with a new robe then healed the wounds, causing blackened flesh to fall off like a shell. Nothing appeared to have changed as both of his eyes returned to normal. Kyrion then scowled as his prosthetic was gone and an actual eye appeared in its place.

“Any power boost?”

“Not really”

Ceres looked confused as she moved about. “It made me stronger. Master Kyrion.” It was a tone she used when she didn’t understand something and was trying to help.

“Good enough.” Kyrion shrugged and everything about him returned to normal visibly. When it struck him. Maybe he was always in that state and hasn't quite been able to turn it off. “Let's go eat.

“Noooo!” The blue dog jumped from Cere’s grasp and ran off.

The first thing Kyrion noticed while in space, was that the air and liquid in his lung tried to expand. The second thing was that his body was burning and freezing simultaneously. The third was that the area was full of wild power he could bend to his will. The first thing was simple, the lungs he used in this body weren't functional, just bags for air to make himself seem human. He had figured it out soon after arriving. His body was a mass of mana and divine essence wrapped around a soul. Due to him coming here through the land of the loss. Ander did have a body due to coming here via a coffin. If Kyrion was honest, his human form was mostly made from his image of himself. He’d gone so long without an eye that he saw himself as broken. Which was partially why he didn’t grow a new one. Upon that realization, he knew that he was ready to grow a new one, later.

Kyrion created a field of divine essence around his body giving himself an atmosphere as his body naturally converted essence into air. A field of gravity kept him in place as he blasted towards what remained of the moon, finding that the blue marble below also had life on it, though it was primitive and nothing but an ocean, with spots of land that formed a small series of islands and a newly formed supercontinent made from where the moon shards had landed.

Curious, Kyrion sent his senses forward and saw that the planet had races of humans with three eyes, and long sharp ears, though their number was quite small. A small tribe of short, stone people with square ears and eyes. He flew around the twin of Earth and discovered a third race of people the size of human children with pointed ears curled shoes and cheerful expressions. They were running around and throwing spears at deer that flew through the air.

Kyrion flew all over the planet noting that this world was full of mana, and nearly identical to Earth in its shape of continents. That world was full of rifts and the air was noticeably cleaner. Kyrion sighed as he looked further and as a large sea serpent rose from beneath the water saw him floating in the air, then ducked back underwater.

“Who are you?” Kyrion noted that the creature didn’t answer. Promptly and landed on the sea with his arms crossed as he commanded the water he touched to calm.

“Fine. Guess I’ll inform the humans that they need to come here and kill everything to save their world. Should be easy. They are predisposed to violence.”

The serpent rose from the water, it climbed through the sky until a creature more than a thousand miles long with a head the size of a city looked at him with terror and confusion.

“You’re a good boy aren't you.”

“I am the Protector of this World. But you are an anomaly. Traveling through space is impossible without a large amount of prep, yet you do so easily.”

“Is it now? Didn’t ask.”

“Some idiots turned their moon to rocks so I came to pick up the pieces and fix the tides. I mean, I want to bring Lin here and go to a resort, then take a moonlit stroll along the coast and stuff.”

“That's what that crash was. Are you a deity? There shouldn’t be any assigned to this universe at the moment after the previous coup.”

“I hope not. Are you a diety?” Kyrion floated higher and let his powers wrap around the planet in seconds.

“I am a being created when this universe split off. My job is to test when creatures have gained enough free will to be considered sentient then watch over them during their first hundred generations before sending them to another planet I've made or another uniververse for the fledgling creators that don’t know what they’re doing. This planet is known as Eden. Every main universe has one, it’s like a…Dev Room. Testing chambers. That moon blast from earlier nearly wiped out a semi advanced civilization, building a tower, and caused many of the residents to turn into statues of white resembling salt.”

“Sorry, partially my fault.”

“That was you’re attack?”

“No. Someone was trying to kill me with it and I survived.” Kyrion didn’t lie.

“Tried and failed. You must be a fledgling divine to survive that. Unscathed.” The serpent roared, shaking the world as it rose further, and circled the planet four times before it was fully visible. Four meteor-sized holes had gone straight through it where it had tried to absorb the attack head-on. A fifth location of broken scales where the blast had stopped but still greatly injured the creature could be seen.

The humans had found a way to slay the closest thing to a God Kyrion had seen. Which included those he’d met back home.

“My, my. That’s quite the beauty you are, but the damage.” Kyrion’s scarf spoke, turning into a stoat and extending until it matched the serpent in size and length.

Kyrion scowled. “Why haven’t you regenerated yet?”

“I can’t heal this kind of damage.”

“Listen. I need you to give me a moon. You can just make one right?”

“How did you?”

“Listen. If I can help you. You must agree to serve me as a subordinate.” Kyrion stated.

“I knew I liked you, human child. The innocent ambition you hold is astounding.” The weasel laughed and clouds burst and the air shifted causing rain to fall then continued to do so for forty days.

“I will not serve a human.”

“You will change your mind in time. For now you will serve me partially. I just need you to do your job and give the planet a moon for now. Make it green and 1.5 as large.”

“You really shouldn’t have mentioned that you’re a Creator. He’s going to be calling you up for favors constantly.”

“I mean… I’ll end up with the power eventually. I was going to use this planet as free resources. But it’s better as a vacation stop. I can even say that it’s named after my pupil.”

“If you can’t heal me, then what?”

“You can consume me whole If I don’t give you the power to heal your wounds. How does that sound?”

“You’re insane.”

“No, I’m Kyrion, my friends call me Kyr, but my followers call me Kaolad.” My enemies call me trouble. What do you want to call me?” Kyrion held his finger towards his left shoulder blade and closed his eyes, turning off the pain receptors in that area as he heightened his other senses.

“What are–”

“Sever!” Kyrion yelled as a blade of wind sliced his left arm all from the shoulder and golden blood fountend into the ocean for a second. Then stopped, as the wound was forced closed.

“You’re!”

“Say ahhhhhh!” Kyrion launched the limb into the serpent's maw and in seconds it healed completely as its body doubled in thickness and its scales went from a dull gray to a pearlescent silver.

The serpent's expression changed as it could now sense the power coming from the rest of the entity. “You aren’t human. That body is a Divine Essence in human shape. You aren’t truly divine, but the amount of power in you is close. Your soul is incomplete.”

“Ahhh!” Kyrion focused as the world's power flowed into the wound and gave him a new arm in half a minute which was a lot longer than usual. Although when power flowed from that arm his ability to heal had greatly increased, he felt something about his body fundamentally change as a new arm with silver scales all over it appeared.

“Master Kyr, I live to serve.”

“Good news! Thank you. I need a new moon, you know the specs, and if you can, when the monsters come, do what you can to help the people of that planet survive while I'm gone.” Kyrion commanded. Also, I want to put my face on the moon for 24 hours on December 24th of every year.

“Yes Master Kyr. It seems I am the third dragon to swear allegiance and the second to be bound to your soul.”

“Ceres is soul bound? Not bound to my blood.”

“Yes. She is. Did you?”

Kyrion’s stray thoughts immediately called her through their bond. Much to his irritation, and curiosity.

A figure with long purple hair and silver armor appeared, confused as she looked left and right.

The figure sprouted wings of purple and began to flap as she looked around in confusion. : What? Where? Why? Huh? Was my soul split in half?”

“Yes.” Replied the giant serpent in confusion.

“Who are you!?”

“I need to get back to Aether!”

“Who?”

“Psycho. He was just awakened from the pod.”

“Oh, so my youngest brother walks the land.”

“We were training in an area unaffected by frozen time.”

“Ah, I was under the impression that you were also frozen.”

“I was not. He’ll figure out I’m not fully present.”

“Ah right, I met your dad by the way. He’s a good fella.”

“I have one of those?” Ceres seemed surprised.

“Doesn’t matter. Anyhow, this gu–. Ummm.. Do you have a gender?”

“I am ***”

“Did you get that?” Kyrion asked.

“Nope. Where are we?”

“Cecil’s world. Well, don’t tell him but we’re on a planet right next to his.” Kyrion said and watched as Ceres looked at Kyrion’s current body and scowled at how much of him wasn’t his original form. Both of his arms were altered by two different creatures, while his soul was more than double in strength.

“What happened to your arms?”

“Ah. Sensed that, did you?” Thousands of geometric black triangles flowed out of his right arm surrounded by purple energy. His left arm was surrounded by flames so white that they were blinding. The flames then turned silvery and metallic as he held it out and let the powers from both mix.

In seconds a small dot appeared in his hands that seemed to pull in everything around it. Kyrion increased its size until it was a disc the size of a dinner plant and launched it toward the pointy shoe elves.

“What are you?”

The serpent watched as an entire civilization was wiped out. Only to sense that they were still nearby and very much alive.

“What have you done?”

“Looks like I gained…Wait. NO!” Kyrion had absorbed them into his domain only to find that they had been searching for food and found his stash of sweets and hard candies. Many of them granted magical abilities. He did get a boost in power and loyal followers but his stash of magical teats would need to be watched with better care. The elves truly loved them though.

“They have quite the sweet tooth.” Kyrion squinted.

The serpent shook its head. “They start singing when they have sugar. It’s like alcohol to them.”

Kyrion didn’t react.

“I have somewhere to be. Make the moon, please. Also Ceres can you teach this dog some common sense?” Kyrion summoned a small blue wiener dog and dropped it over the ocean. It twisted in the air and began to float upwards.”

“This one’s a baby in age. Forcibly matured somehow. You?” Ceres asked.

“No. I just taught it some common sense.”

“I’ll begin their education.”

“Right, do you know how to follow me when I teleport?”

“I never quite got the knack of it.”

“Then I’ll make it two-way.” Kyrion opened a two-way portal to the countryside he had just visited. This would be one abyss of a story..
