Book Lost(2.5), Chapter 55 And the list goes on

Kyrion had decided to watch the news this morning and confirm a few suspicions. He wasn’t disappointed as they pulled the so-called culprit out of a house and paraded them to a jailhouse only for the second part of Ari’s vengeance to take effect leading to the person in question releasing classified information on experimental active espers under the control of the slayers. Of the hundreds of thousands dead, ten thousand worldwide artificial Espers had survived and were under the thrall of the slayers.

Or had been, as Kyrion expected. Once the information was released, the command center for mental manipulation was destroyed, releasing the Espers from their mind control. Those with memories of their past or who had been acting against their will went on rampages all over the place, exposing the secret of people with powers worldwide.

The organization known as the Slayer's top brass had a series of names leaked to the public, as well as other private information. The leader of this attack, Ari, had succeeded where humanity failed, and now they were forced to team up to capture the rogue espers, get them to help, and bury the Slayer’s organization.

Then as expected Gram arrived through the portal, alongside a robot holding up a pod with a body submerged in a strange liquid in the center. Cedric arrived moments later his expression grim.

“Did you really have to wait until it started before letting us come back.” Cedric’s eyes shot daggers into Kyrion.

“If you came back earlier then the Slayers would have been tipped off. You know that I’ve been on their watch list since a certain emp went off in one of their bases.”

“Don’t be paranoid. You aren’t being followed.” Cedric stated.

“Yes. Yes I am.I have recently learned that Moca, one of my friends is the younger sister of Jac, and therefore the daughter of someone high up in the Slayers.”

“Meaning?”

“She's been watching me, and reporting information to him. Well, not directly or willingly. He appears to have a method for withdrawing memories from people. It isn’t hard to find out our relationship, given the information made available to people in your organizations.”

“What will you do now?”

“Ari is here, I’m here, and I need a new eye.” Kyrion placed a hand in the air as a body resembling Kilo and Gam only much more female, clad in white robes and as still as the dead despite the body having a heartbeat and quietly breathing.

“Who is that?” Gram asked with a concerned expression. He had the feeling he knew the answer.

“It’s a working body made with the details I’d taken from the Slayers, you, my mother, and my supposed brother, on top of my own research and ability to heal.”

“So that’s a homunculus?”

“Not by this world's sense, and not by my own. This is a human, though they already have a magical core, awakened soul, and physical enhancements via use of my blood in its creation. These take significantly longer to make than my plant clones and I had to figure out how to alter DNA at a fundamental level to get things right. So I lied about the human part. Technically my cells, and DNA are innately different from yours due to being born in a world adapted to magic and capable of using it. Unlike the people here, she has only three strands of Dna.”

“That does make sense. But we do consider that a human variant.”

“Correct, similar templates, though you all will go through similar adaptations sooner rather than later, maybe in 1-2 generations pass by when this world has changed.” Kyrion pulled out a vial of silvery metallic liquid. Pulling out a paintbrush Kyrion dipped it in the vial then carefully drew a symbol in a magical script he created with the help of Cecil, that allowed him to inscribe intent into his spells.”

“Reawaken.” Kyrion chanted as the soul living in his current eye faded and then moved into the sleeping body.

The body’s eyes shot open as Deci looked around in confusion. “How did you do that? Why doesn’t it hurt to breathe?”

“Interesting. Do that thing you can do with the camera’s on that computer.” Kyrion pointed and caused the screen to flicker on. Despite leaving his body he’d kept the ability to mess with this world's technology. Not that he knew what he was doing.

Deci pointed and the screen flickered to a notepad as words began to appear. “Yes, it seems I can still use my powers. Are we connected still?”

“No, I think I adapted your abilities into my own after using them. Wait, can we change the channels with our minds? Is that why you started hiding the remote? Training?”

Gram looked away, not meeting Kyrions gaze.

Cedric raised his hands. “So what now?”

“Have the Slayers mobilized?”

Kyrion popped his neck as a white military uniform covered his body and an imposing hat was placed atop his head. His expression was grim as an eyepatch with a skull on it covered his eyes. Various military regalia covered his suit with little to no meaning whatsoever, but it made him look highly decorated.

“The Esper rampages are progressing worldwide.”

“I’ll need a name for this form.” Kyrion cut his hair shorter than usual as he placed a white cap atop his head. White leather gloves covered his hands.

“What are you going to do?”

“Hmmm…The General of the WTF, World Tactical Federation.”

“Are you sure?”

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

“What about the lord of the People's New In–”

“Nope.”

“Fine, the Commander of Unity and Peace”

“Coup…What are you doing?”

Kyrion snapped his fingers and another portal opened behind them. “I’ve taken every world leader hostage and put them in a room with designated seating, snacks, and cameras.”

“You did what! Where?”

“Don’t worry, I got the King of Dairy, The Queen of Burgers, and the Jack of Donalds. And If I tell you where, you might intervene, or send the FIB’s. I got permission.”

“Where is it?”

“Fine, I bought, and island a while back, and put the meeting room right on the outside of a dormant volcano. I even made the side look like the maw of a Ferret.”

“When did you do this?”

Cedric’s phone started ringing. “The president has been kidnaped and his clone appears to be made from cake and a lot of Fondant. The president is made of cake sir! Someone just left it sitting in the oval office!”

“A cake golem?”

“Fondant?” Kyrion asked in confusion.

“Oh, nevermind, the president just re-entered the building. Though he does seem confused and a bit out of it.”

“That's the plant clone. Now then.”

“Wait… You can kidnap people, replace them with plant clones and have them do your bidding? And if they have positions in power they can do whatever you want?”

“Well yes.”

“What are you going to do with the world leaders you’ve kidnapped?”

“Offer them magic and weapons to be used against the bad guys and force them to be united under my banner. If they agree I let them all go with what I've promised and a roadmap for training the people when they all start getting magic. If the institutions that keep people sane suddenly collapse when people get magic then people will act like beasts and monsters. See I can think things through.”

“Couldn’t you have replaced them with the clones?”

“I don’t want to run this world. I want to save it. Mostly for the food but also the innocent and peaceful lives you all try to live. Since Cecil’s helping safeguard mine it's the least I could do.”

“I don’t like this.”

“Should I force reforms as well?”

“What kind of reforms?”

“You’ll see.” Kyrion stepped back through his portal.

“You didn’t try to stop him.” Cedric said to Gram.

“Those who could kill him, would have stopped him from doing that if it was necessary.”

“2 of humanity's pillars have died recently.”

“I am aware.”

----------------------------------------

Kyrion stepped out of the portal into a large room where various people were in a state of panic, rage, anger, and dread. Those not in that state were unconscious penguins standing menacingly over their bodies.

“I did tell them not to kill. I did tell them that right?”

Turning to the penguins Kyrion nodded. The penguins stepped back to the doorways and Kyrion spread a healing and calming wind throughout the area, healing injuries, fixing diseases, and quieting the tension in the room.

From there he placed a stone on a pedestal to translate the intention of his speech and make him understandable to everyone in the area. The last thing he did before speaking was look to two corners of the room and turn on the cameras, making sure that the satellites he’d hijacked were working before he began.

“Now then, I need you to calm down and listen. Those who can’t will be left out of the discussion.”

“I am the Commander of Unity and Peace.” Kyrion let his power flow through the room like a miasma, making his presence known. The people present struggled to breathe, talking would be an impossibility for most.

“I will offer you 2 choices, agree to everything I say and live, or don’t and see what happens next. As many of you know, the Slayers have made themselves an enemy of humanity, and therefore have destroyed the peace and unity of the world. I require that you all formally abolish their presence in your countries. I also implore you all to drop slavery, and stop fighting your little wars, any nation that fails will learn what happens after. We will all meet once a month here to have a discussion on what has been done to prepare the people. I'll need your world's brightest minds and foremost experts in magic.”

The greater powers in the world stayed silent and didn’t so much as flinch. They’d figured it out sooner rather than later.

“Magic! You are a loon! I won’t agree to a thing you say.”

“Who are you? Doesn’t matter. Penguins take him back. I’ll have one of you promoted soon.”

“What! Stop him! He’s crazy! Magic isn’t–” The man was knocked out and dragged out of the room.

Kyrion snapped his fingers and the seat the man had been in vanished. “Now then, I need your best to consolidate what I've learned into a magic system that's easy for your people to figure out and learn. I believe cards should work as a start.”

“Let's see. I have nothing against dictators and tyrants just know, I won’t grant those that step on their people more power than their citizens. Your goals will be to keep the people alive, not put down rivals or wage wars.”

“Also there are weapons that I will release to your militaries via Cerberus and the Janitors. They will work with you to maintain peace against the apocalypse to come. Otherwise when it begins the casualties will be enormous.”

“When what begins? What is coming?” An elderly woman with a crown asked. She hadn’t been bothered by much.

“An entity with the goal of corrupting the multiverse. Since your world is a root, and mine branches off of it, saving yours helps mine in a way. Your world is a weak link in the grand scheme of things. I’m here to remedy that.”

“How strong are you? How much damage could you do to this world as an enemy?”

“I could spit it through the middle, stealing half of it and letting the rest implode on itself. Or whatever. It would take a lot of time to do it, but if I pushed into the next tier and really put my mind to it then I could do it. To be fair, that's due to there not being a limit to magical power in this world.” Kyrion lied partially, he couldn’t do that and survive the explosion, and he wouldn’t without a good enough reason.

“There is an upper limit in yours?”

“Yes and no, The gods place limits on their citizens to keep teenagers from destroying the world on a whim. I can’t blow up my home planet but I can steal a continent or a small country if I put my mind to it.”

“Anyone who doesn’t agree to the terms may now stand and be escorted out.”

For a moment no one stood, then the Jack of Donalds stood. “Uh, I'm a mascot for a burger place, not a real ruler.”

“You make the burgers?” Kyrion’s concentrated attention fell on him like the deep ocean.

“N-no sir! I just talk on T.V and stuff.”

“I have a use for you. Other mascots need to stay behind as well. So sit yourself back down. I gots plans.”

“Oh god he’s insane.” Someone said.

Kyrion flicked a dart of fire to the right of that man’s head without looking. Lighting a candle on another table.

“Now then. Anyone else want to leave.”

An older man with tan skin and a blank expression stood. “I need to use the restroom.”

Kyrion pointed to a doorway and he was escorted out.

“Good, as for payment for my services, bring me food from your land, just place it in front of the portal. Doesn’t need to be fancy, just not poisonous. Finally, this whole event is streaming on every news station worldwide and is being played to the people, even in places with lower levels of technology. So they will know what you agreed to.

Kyrion then opened various portals behind the rulers and they were back to their homes.

“Now then Mascots. I need you to tell the boss people that I will need help designing toys for the Christmas. I’d like to visit your factories and have you all get the word out that Santa is real and he’s going to be everywhere on Christmas eve.”

“You are going to be Santa Claus, The last saint of humanity?” Asked the Queen of Burgers.

“Yes. And I’m going to give everyone presents. Also, have your bosses call this number to promote snacks that will grant small levels of growth in innate magic.” Kyrion handed them all business cards before sending them all back.

“Now then. Penguins, are you ready to wrangle some Espers?” Kyrion addressed the Penguins now wearing uniforms matching his with insignias U a P embroidered on them, his penguins worked fast.

The older man who was in the bathroom returned a confused look on his face. Kyrion shut off the camera. “It’s been a while. So about my trip to India.”

“You need to go through the legal channels for that. Otherwise I’d gladly show you to the ruins of the old civilization. My people are nearly all long gone, and there isn’t much we can do to avoid the worst outcome.”

“Perfect. Do you want me to take you back?”

“I had a bit of a walk around this place, is it modeled after training facilities in your world?”

“Yes, the books however are based on what I’ve put together here, I’ll need your assistance putting the rest together.”

“The pillars, its sad that only four of us remain, with the loss of Sam, I thought all was lost, then you come here with knowledge granted to you from his disciple. You have my vote when it comes to taking you where your sister is.”

“It’s appreciated.”

The Indian man closed his eyes and faded away in a burst of kaleidoscopic light.

“An illusory projection. Unlike most of the others, he had been invited.”
