Tasting the rainbow

//Will go back and add change in number of scrolls made.

After a minute of flashy runes and grinding gears, a 40-foot tall monstrous Elemental took shape. Its head was made of spinning earth that connected to a huge tornado of a body made of wind. It's left arm was made of fire and its right arm was made of ice. Each of the elements of the prismatic elemental swirled amongst itself, its particles constantly rearranging.

Level 15 Prismatic Elemental Lord[Boss][Rank 2][Elite] Hp - Head(30,000šŸŒ) Body(30,000šŸ’Ø) R-Arm(30,000ā„)L-Arm(30,000šŸ”„)

I smiled in anticipation. One of the greatest things about using a scroll is that it makes the spell instant-cast. So unlike the boss, who had a cast time, we could use our collection of scrolls and soulstones to cause instant devastation. That was my hope at least.

I nodded to the others and as the boss began to start casting spells, we all activated scrolls.

Earth shackle! [Target lock]

Hit! - stunned until shackle is broken - (1000hp)

The earth shackle latched on to the ice arm which made it become instantly stunned and cancelled its spellcasting.

Wind shackle! [Target lock]

Hit! - stunned until shackle is broken - (1000hp)

The wind shackle grew in size and surrounded the earthen head which made it become instantly stunned and cancelled its spellcasting.

Ice shackle! [Target lock]

Hit! -stunned until shackle is broken. (1000hp)

The ice shackle wrapped around the flame arm and stunned it.

Following the plan, I pulled out the next scroll and used it.

Flame wall!

A giant wall of flame appeared inside the tornado-like body of the prismatic elemental.

Tide and Olaf used their next scrolls at the same time, unleashing twin flame spears into the elemental.

Flame spear x2

-7500šŸ”„(13500/30000)

The wind part of the elemental began to try and cast a spell, a rune appearing in front of it.

The flame wall continued to deal damage, burning away the tornado, bit by bit.

-1500šŸ”„(12000/30000hpšŸ’Ø)

We had copied the "spear" spell a crazy amount of times since we knew it could deal so much damage.

Flame spear!

-7500šŸ”„(4500/30000hpšŸ’Ø)

Flame spear!

-7500šŸ”„(0/30000hpšŸ’Ø)

The tornado collapsed and disintegrated.

The remaining parts of the prismatic elemental separated and began to grow in size until all three were 30 feet tall.

Ice shackle broke!

Earth shackle broken!

Wind shackle broken!

This act of changing forms had broken the shackles.

"Earth next! Just let him cast the wall, it won't hurt us now." I yelled as I prepared to use my next scroll.

Ice shackle- - > Hit! - - > Fire Elemental

Earth shackle - - > Hit! - -> Ice Elemental

Wind spear! - -> Hit! - - >Earth Elemental -7500 šŸ’Ø (22500/30000hpšŸŒ)

The earth elemental began to cast his spell but we ignored him.

Wind spear! - -> Hit! - - >Earth Elemental -7500 šŸ’Ø (0/30000hpšŸŒ)

The spears of concentrated and condensed wind ripped giant holes in the earth elemental. The last spear ripped through its chest and the swirling rocks dropped to the ground and lay still.

"Good job! Now ice! Be careful not to hit the shackle!" I yelled as I cast my next scroll.

Earth spear! - - >Hit! - - >Ice Elemental

-7500 šŸŒ(22500/30000hpā„)

Earth spear! - -> Hit! - - >Ice Elemental -7500 šŸŒ (15,000/30000hpā„)

Earth spear! - -> Hit! - - >Earth Elemental -7500 šŸŒ(0/30000hpā„)

We cast four Earth spears, back to back. With the boss stunned we could attack at ease with no worry of retaliation.

The spears took huge chunks out of the ice elemental, ripping it apart until it too fell down to the ground unmoving.

"Last one! Kill it!" I yelled. I was ready to be done with this boss already. I told myself I would have to share the money I got out of the Avatars with Tide when this was over to make up for the material cost of all these scrolls.

We focused down the lone fire elemental while it remained shackled.

Ice spear! - - > Hit! - - > Fire Elemental

Ice spear! - -> Hit! - - >Fire Elemental -7500 ā„ (0/30000hpšŸ”„)

The final spear flew across the room and sunk into the flame elemental creating a sizzling sound as it was extinguished.

Ding! You have leveled up! Hit points increased!(558,995/680,000)

Everyone leveled up, and could finally let out a sigh of relief that it was over.

A pedestal immediately began to rise from the center of the room. I pulled out the large silver key as Tide excitedly hopped around.

"Let's loot in a minute. "

The others nodded their agreement and I inserted the key and unlocked our newest hieroglyph. Tide grabbed it and inspected it.

Ancient Hieroglyph-Redirect-May choose new target or target coordinates for target spell.

As soon as he picked up the hieroglyph I noticed a blue light on the wall, getting brighter and brighter until a blinding flash surged forth.

Olaf and Tide were hit by the flash and became seemingly frozen in time while I remained unaffected.

A man stood before me, a projection materialized from the blue light on the wall. This man was tall and muscular with broad shoulders and a strong jawline. His armor was legendary, every piece adorned with countless runes and glowing rank 10 soul-stones.

He spoke to me, "Hello Thorn, my name is Archanos. "

"How do you know my name? How come the others are frozen? "

Archanos smiled at me, "I am using a spell that I designed myself, that serves one purpose. It allows me to communicate with one particular person, and doesn't work on anyone else. "

I was confused, "Me? You made a spell just to communicate with me?"

He nodded, "In a way I guess. It only works on myself so that's why it worked on you. You are me, and I am you. "

"Wait!? What the hell are you saying?!?" I exclaimed in absolute confusion. What was this madness?

The man held up his hands in defense, "I know what it's like to be where your at right now, and I didn't believe it either. It's just a game I thought. It doesn't matter, I had thought I would say something different but I find myself repeating the same words I once heard long ago.."

"So your saying that in the future I go back in time and become Olaf's grandpa, becoming the first emperor." I questioned with a clear mocking tone.

He nodded, "Yep. You remember how we used to have such a crush on our hot geometry teacher that we pretended to not understand triangles? "

What the hell? How did he know about that? I had never told anyone about my crush on Ms Ashley, or as I secretly called her Ms. Assley.

"What did we call her, Ms Assley.." He continued before blatantly stopping. It was as if he was reading my thoughts, making me feel unnerved.

I put up my hands, "Ok, I get it! Enough with the weird memory lane stuff what do you want?"

Archanos sighed and shook his head, " It doesn't matter...No matter what the same things will happen. Olaf will die, and Tide will be deleted. You will be alone. Nothing I say can stop or change that. Skye was right, she knows everything. I'm running out of time. "

His figure began to fade.

"Wait! Did you find our parents! " I yelled out to him.

He looked at me with a grave face, "This is why you will be me..."

His form faded out of existence and the blue light began to diminish until it was gone as well.

Time once again began to move for Olaf and Tide who looked around confused.

"What happened?" they asked in unison.

I could only shrug my shoulders and try to wrap my brain around what had just occurred. For a moment I contemplated telling them the truth, but then thought better of it.

"I dunno."

Tide shrugged, "Whatever! Let's loot!!"

It seemed the blue flash was only a momentary distraction for the two of them, as they went back to normal.

I would never be the same.
