Great! Just great! How am I supposed to play like this! Quest mobs probably won't take me seriously. Oh no! My stats! Please don't let it affect my stats! I pulled up the character menu and sure enough, my stats had gone down by at least 20%!
Bullshitery! (means to be decorated in the shit of a bull.)
Sadly, I spent the first ten minutes of my first VR game acting my digital age. I stomped and moaned and yelled at the universe. The worst part was when my tantrum caused a lovely lolita player to say, "Aww what a cute little kid!".
This was effectively like pouring cold water on me. I stopped my fit, straightened up and went to find the first quest mob. I was so caught up in my own head that I didn't take the time to appreciate the beauty and realism of the world of Blank.
You will be fine Nate. I calmed myself as I walked. This is the virtual world, it's not like the real world remember. In the real world, no matter how much you train you will never be able to lift a car with one hand. With high enough stats the virtual world makes such things a possibility.
I had read and watched all the guides for the first part of the game, which had been released months ago. I had planned on breezing through the beginning but now I may be stalled out.
There is nothing but to try. I must imagine the outcome I desire and utilize every facet of skill I have to achieve it.

The mayor was standing outside of his house, waiting on new adventurers to arrive. He appeared to be a tall well-built man, with short brown hair and a bushy beard with traces of grey throughout. His backstory was that of a successful soldier. After serving many years he settled in this tiny village and became the mayor.
With as much confidence as I could muster, I approached the mayor and said, " Sir Mayor, I would like my first quest. "
I expected a few responses, but not what actually happened.
He blatantly laughed at me!
"Ha! Ha! Ha! You are a kid, now run along back to your parent's house." the mayor said with a dismissive attitude.
I had to fight to stifle back my anger, as I calmly said, "Mr. Mayor I assure you I am an adventurer. A spell has turned me into a child. "
He paused for a moment, pondered my words and said, " A spell, huh? Well, it's possible. I tell you what kid. I'll give you a chance to prove yourself.
Ding! Quest notification!
Quest- Prove yourself.
Do you accept?
Yes!
The mayor pulled out a wooden training sword and handed it to me.
Received - Quest item- Wooden sword.
He looked down at me and said, " There is a man named Olaf, he is known as the town drunk. He is normally in an alley next to the tavern. He was a coward back when we were soldiers, but he should be able to win against a child. Land ten hits on him in 20 seconds and I'll believe your story. Good luck kid. "
I thanked the mayor and left towards the tower.
Hmm, very interesting. I have never heard of such a quest.
