Celia’s long slender hands stretched out in front of her as a bow made up of essence appeared in her hands. It was a weapon she formed on her own, something that people rarely saw.
Her presence was becoming more and more mysterious for Nick.
Celia felt Nicks gaze and gave him a loving smile.
“You and Rachel draw its attention.”
Celia told him.
Nick nodded his head in agreement. There was no problem getting the attention of this Demon ranked beast, but keeping it was going to be another thing. It’s movements were hard to keep up with.
There was also the problem of the remaining five Alpha’s that were still here.
“Listen up! If you want to make it out of here alive, then nows the time to put everything you’ve learned over the years to use! My group will focus on the Demon ranked beast, I trust the rest of you can finish off these Alphas?”
Everyone was a bit confused at first, but they slowly got up and nodded their heads.
“Good! Then get moving.”
With Celia’s commands, people started moving. Their movements were more sluggish than before as they were showing signs of injury. As long as they held out until the two main threats were killed, then everything would be alright.
Rachel already completed her transformation, when she appeared next to Celia.
“How long?”
Celia looked into Rachel's eyes and asked.
“Five minutes.”
Rachel replied.
Celia sighed, she had hoped Rachel would have a longer duration on her transformation but it couldn’t be helped due to her essence being depleted from her match before.
“Guess we better get started then.”
Rachel flew towards the Demon ranked female with Nick following right behind her.
The Demon ranked female lion let out a growl before it made a move. It’s speed was much faster than Nick’s and Rachel’s causing them to lag behind.
The two of them stopped in their tracks as they tried to feel where the female would attack from.
A shadow arrived next to Rachel, causing her to snap her head to her right. She saw a large paw aiming straight for her.
Barely having time to react, she put strength into her legs and braced for impact as she put her shield out.
Nick summersualted over her shoulder and flung himself into the air as he swung his sword down from above.
It sounded like a large truck crashed into a building from the impact of Rachel’s shield stopping the Demon’s paw.
Rachel was thrown backwards as a shockwave ran up her arm until it spread across her entire body. The armor on her arm had a small crack on it but she had no time to pay that any attention.
She tasted iron in her mouth as blood crawled up her throat.
Not wasting any time worrying about her own condition she charged right at the Demon, causing a small crater to appear under her feet when she pushed off.
Nick’s sword landed on the Demon’s body but it barely made a dent. It’s fur was acting as its body armor.
Seeing his attack fail Nick quickly retreated back, but that was his mistake. While falling down from the air the Demon’s tail swiped in his direction.
Nick’s eyes grew seeing the tail coming in his direction, he put his blade across his arm and braced himself.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
The Demon’s tail stopped mid-attack as an arrow made up of essence pierced it. Attached to the arrow was a chain that was tied to the ground.
The beast tried to use its strength to pull the chains out of the ground but it didn’t work. It turned its head and glared at Celia who had a grin on her face.
Celia used her right index finger and pointed in front of the Demon with a smile on her face. She started mouthing words, but she never actually said anything.
When the Demon turned her sight to her front she saw a spear covered in golden light as radiant as the sun.
Rachel’s spear stabbed right into the Demon beast chest, but it wasn’t dead instead it just roared out in anger.
Nick’s icy blue eyes scanned the beasts body, it’s essence core was in the center of its head.
The essence core was the heart to all demonic beings. Unless one destroyed it they wouldn’t die unless it was a serious injury.
The Demon was enraged as its slick black fur stood tall and black lightning covered its entire body. Rachel’s spear that was still stuck inside the beasts body caused her to be executed.
“Ahh!”
Rachel screamed in pain as she dropped to her knee.
Celia show two large arrows at the beast that pierced its body, causing its attack to cease.
A small white light appeared at the front of her bow, she was gathering her essence for one final shot.
Nick moved quickly as he grabbed Rachel and moved a little bit away from the Demon beast. She was fried, there were char marks all across her body. The armor she was wearing vanished due to her transformation ending.
She was still breathing so she would live, but she was in no condition to fight.
“Aw… Sh-”
Celia said as her bow vanished and her body reverted back to normal.
Her silver hair turned back blonde and the horns on her head disappeared.
‘You just had to charge up the essence for one final attack huh?’
‘Oh shut it.’
Celia sighed.
The arrow that was tying the Demon female down disappeared along with Celia’s transformation, allowing the beast to be free.
Nick had to make a move, and he needed to move now.
His body reacted as it faded into the shadows, he materialized underneath the Demon’s neck. His sword covered in black flames as he stabbed upward.
Nick’s sword pierced through the Demon’s neck going all the way up to the essence core in the middle of its head.
As he withdrew his sword, the Demon collapsed onto the ground.
Nick was exhausted, his whole body ached.
His icy blue eyes already reverted back to their hazel color.
The essence in his body wasn’t even enough to use his main ability. At least, he felt he knew how to use his Manifestation abilities without transforming now. Once he rested and everything was over, he’d begin training to master it.
Celia rushed over to Nick’s side and gave him a hug.
She smothers his face in her chest.
Nick already saw Charles fight was over, the other Demon was dead. All the other Alpha’s were now killed off, their fight was over. They had won.
Nick wanted to close his eyes and rest his head on Celia’s soft chest.
“Can’t believe we survived that!”
“I know right! I thought we were goners.”
“Pity, we lost four.”
A loud thunderbolt crashed down next to Nick and Celia. It scared the living daylights out of everyone as the sky was mostly clear.
Nick looked over and he saw two purple eyes glaring at him. His heart almost jumped out of his chest when he made eye contact.
The figure was still being covered by the dust, but Nick could tell it was some high ranking Demon. Whatever rank that male lion was before didn’t even compare to this being before him.
Time felt as if it was moving slowly as he pushed Celia out of the way.
Instincts kicked in as Nick tried to raise his arms, but he only managed to get his left arm up before his body was thrown back. His body crashed into a brick house, but it was instantly destroyed upon impact.
Nick threw up blood and barely managed to look up. His vision was hazy, he was trying to stay conscious. The only thing he heard was this static noise that kept ringing in his ear.
“Nick!”
Celia screamed.
A breeze of wind caused Celia’s long blonde hair to flutter.
She felt something touch her shoulders as her entire body shook with fear. Slowly she turned her head and saw a young man wearing a black hoodie with a black hat.
The young man uttered some words to her causing Celia to look shocked and confused.
His red eyes made him look like a demon of some sort, but he wasn’t.
The newly arrived Demon released its energy causing the ground to shake and thunder to roar across the sky. However, the young man did not seem intimidated at all. He merely grinned while his red eyes started to glow brightly.
The rubble all around started to rise into the air as Celia and all those close fainted just due to the energy he was releasing. Sparks of blue circulated around his body.
His mouth moved, but no one was conscious to hear what he said.
Stretching his hand out, he did a slight movement with his finger and the area in front of him was obliterated. Buildings vanished, cards disappeared, bodies turned to dust. All that was left was a scar on the ground that went on for who knows how long.
He turned his head and looked in the direction Nick was.
“Hpmh. Why do I even bother?”
