Part Eighteen
Darius was actually excited to be back in class after a break. He had a lot planned for all of his students. Their development meant a lot to him and he wanted them to become the best that they could.
Although he got the feeling that Nick did not trust him enough to try out the development path he set aside for him, Darius was not upset. It showed that Nick thought for himself and did not necessarily follow what others laid out for him.
Darius thought that was promising.
“Today refresh yourselves with the inner yin and yang method. Practice that for a today. You all have come so far this year we will definitely show that we are the best support class!”
Darius glanced over at Matthew.
“Due to Freya not being here, you’ll have to find a new partner or sit today out.”
“No worries.”
The girls in the class had a new shine in their eyes as they heard Darius. Freya always hogged Matthew when they did this technique thus reducing their time to interact with Matthew.
Now that she was not here, they could get closer to him.
Just thinking about this rare chance made their cheeks turn red. They were not thinking dirty! They were just thinking about the feeling of connecting to Matthew.
The feeling of having him….
The thought could not even be finished as they saw Matthew ask Katherine to be his partner.
The females could not help but wonder, why her? What did she have over them? Why was he drawn to her?
A large majority of the females glared at Katherine. Their eyes told her if she accepted she would never have an easy life in this class again.
Lucky for them Katherine declined his offer.
“Damn.”
Matthew said as he was rejected by Katherine.
It was not like he asked her out on a date, just to do this technique with him. Besides, it was not going to be an ongoing thing just until Freya returned. He honestly did not know why she turned him down.
They were getting along just fine.
He’d say something that would cause other females to burn with excitement. She would ignore him.
Matthew felt that she would open up to him eventually. Thus he never gave up and constantly tried to get a conversation started.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
The more she continued to reject or ignore him, the more he wanted to get her acceptance and talk to her.
“I’m sure you can have anyone else be your partner.”
Nick said as he knew most of the females were chasing after Matthew in some way.
“It won’t be the same!”
Matthew replied before he came up with an idea.
“How about you do that thing you did previously. Suggest me, someone, to partner up with, it worked well with Freya I’m sure it’ll work well with anyone else you recommend.”
Matthew really wanted to improve the amount of essence he had. He felt that he would have a breakthrough soon. Once his essence increased he would be able to try different moves with his EXO.
Nick casually glanced around the class, and his eyes stopped on Isabel.
She was not exactly ‘perfect’ for him but Nick decided he would do her this one favor.
“Try Isabel.”
Nick suggested.

Seating in a chair was a middle-aged man, the room was dark and his facial features could not be seen.
He picked up his phone then set it down again.
He wanted to see how his development was going, but then he did not know how he should approach him.
The time limit for the mission was four years, the first year was almost halfway done. Ever since he has been sent on that mission they have not spoken.
Suddenly he picked his phone up and laid it down once more.
He started to rub his temple instead.
His phone started to vibrate and he hurriedly picked it up.
“Hello?”
“Hey Chief, sorry for not contacting you for a while things have been a bit busy.”
The middle-aged man waved his hand.
“Doesn’t matter, I told you to only contact me when it was related to ‘Delirium’. Since you are contacting me I believe you’ve found something?”
The man on the other end laughed a bit.
“I have. I’m assuming you’ve already heard about the incident that happened at Demeter Academy a few months ago right?”
“Yes.”
“It would seem that they were trying to retrieve something special. It is like living weapon. Something the world has never seen.
However, I’m sure you already know about that and right now you sent people to look for that weapon. I believe that ‘Nick’ has already found one, and I must say that she is quite something.”
The man said on the other end.
The middle-aged man rubbed his chin while he listened.
“Hmm… he likes to be called ‘Nick’ huh? I don’t see what was wrong with Nicholas. Sent me over what he’s found, I’ll have to see this with my own eyes.”
“Well… that could be a problem. He was told not to get too involved with that person, but not anyone else. It would seem that he has developed feelings for her in a way.
He has a wide variety of people he hangs around as well so it is hard for me to identify this person as well. I was only able to find out the bare minimum…”
His voice went silent after he said that.
He was not sure if his chief would chew him out or not. He began to brace himself as he waited but it never came.
“I see, just keep an eye on him. I’m surprised he has not found you yet, guess you aren’t called ‘Phantom’ for nothing.”
“You praise me too much chief! Keep going… I mean if I were you I would be prepared. With the twelve god competition coming up it is sure to be a sight to see. Your son may be a monster but this year will be something else. I actually can’t wait to see it.”
“What makes you think he will be participating?”
“Of course he is! He is number one in his class right now, if he doesn’t get a spot no one among the freshman class will.”
